There are 1917 PoW Blocks left-- this coin is a PoS/PoW hybrid.
Since not all blocks are PoW blocks, it takes longer to distribute the money supply since a portion of the blocks are PoS.
You should read the previous pages for my details, we even added an RPC function to check PoW Blockheight.

I am unable to launch my wallet, has anyone else had this problem?

Remove the "RPC Port:" line from your config file, and you should be fine. Client should default to that port anyhow. Edit: Also remove the P2P Port, I just update the ANN to properly reflect that. Cheers.

1. (Newbie devs, no response to Proof of Dev callouts) - Currently the development team would like to stay anonymous. Anyone that knows code can easily look at github and see this ISN'T one of those typical scam coingen type coins . The dev team are well-known in the cryptoworld and very reputable and they have chosen to stay anonymous for the time being. 2. (Offers nothing new, and not even anon transactions) - We have things being worked on for future updates and will be released when thoroughly tested. Anon transactions are vaporware mostly and NONE are NSA proof, you need trustless and decentralized with IP obfuscation that is not run through any centralized services like TOR for true anon , something that is very difficult ATM with Bitcoin based coins. 3. (Being promoted and possibly developed by a KNOWN pump and dump group) - Promotion of the coin has to do with the community and whoever is willing to invest money to buy or mine the coin. The I/O Coin Team doesn't control the market or care to control it - We are building something above your average coin, you will see this with the future additions to the coins development. 4. (Said group has shills, like yourself, to frantically attack anyone with legitimate questions on the ANN thread.) The thread is not moderated, everyone has freedom of speech here. We despise shills, fud and trolling but in the altcoin threads this is something that nor we or anyone else have control off. Please keep it civilized.

All pools and exchanges have been pm'ed. In response to some comments on the forums, we have decided to create a new release which adds in some useful features. This is not a mandatory release, but it is still recommended that you upgrade to keep up to date. This release adds in some hardened checkpoints, along with some new RPC methods related to PoW blocks. The getpowblocks [block] method returns the number of PoW blocks mined in the longest block chain at height block. If the optional block argument is not provided, it defaults to the current best height. The getpowblocksleft [block] method returns the number of PoW blocks left to mined in the longest block chain at height block. If the optional block argument is not provided, it defaults to the current best height. The getpowtimeleft [time-unit] [block] method returns an approximation of the amount of time remaining before PoW ends. It accepts an optional time unit, one of {days, hours, minutes, seconds,d,h,m,s}, defaulting to seconds. The second optional block argument allows for specifying the block height to use for calculating the time remaining. Note that this is just an estimate, so some fluctuations are expected. https://github.com/IOCoin/iocoin/releases/tag/v1.1.1.0

We have discussed it already with the owner. Previous blockexplorer owner didn't update to the new wallet and we have a new one being created. This is what it will look like : http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/i don't want to be a bad guy but wallet update during pow, no block explorer, ...(Elite, USB..., ...) The blockexplorer was running but the owner didn't update to the new wallet even though we pmed him (basically he took the bounty and ran off)

only 1000 blacks left now. so what have you guys got planned for this coin?
with the actual moneysupply "6.2M" it seems that we will only reach a estimated total coins after PoW of "10.5M" ... could that be right?
Total POW blocks will be 12815 - POS Blocks are irrelevant to this number. The total "blocks" : 9484, showing in the wallet are a mix of POW and POS blocks as the coin is a Hybrid. It had been explained previously, we still have 50% of the supply mineable ATM. So,We probably how many piece of a POW? *Roughly* 16-22million coins after POW ends

It doesn't look like you're right. According to https://github.com/IOCoin/iocoin/blob/c455c69964849a03189deb50de79b7c099c4efae/src/main.hThe last block that will be POW mined is 12815, no matter what origin the prior blocks are. It looks like the coin will have just about 8M total supply at the end of PoW. It's possible I'm wrong, but I looked over the source when you launched. Looks neat! Essentially a BC POS 2.0/VRC hybrid but with an interest rate that will never go above 2.8%-- probably closer to 2.3%. https://github.com/IOCoin/iocoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L2262,L2270It’s based on the POW height only, not POS block height

Hey guys, turbulent night, but let me explain exactly what happened. We had uploaded the updated clients, which actually prevent the coin from forking, but not everyone upgraded, or if people upgraded, they didn’t wipe out their previous block chain, and kept hashing on the old chain.
It seems, that a pool, although upgraded their wallet, they did not remove and refresh their block chain information, and were therefore hashing on the wrong chain. This caused a lot of problems for us, because the pool started re-broadcasting the wrong block chain to people, and this caused a chain effect of bad blockhains being broadcast. This caused a domino effect, as new people who were downloading the client, were saturated with bad block chain information, and then re-distributing it.
Now, in regards to the Hashharder stuff, and the reason we “picked” their chain. First of all, no chain was “picked” as there was no wallet update— we don’t magically get to decide which chain is the official one. The chain that Hashharder was using, was also the same chain that our Seeders were seeding, and all of our machines were using, as well as what was hardcoded in to the client, not to mention the chain was about 6-700 blocks ahead of the other one, and as you know, the longest chain always wins.
We are working today to bring more seed nodes online, and increasing the capacity of our current seed servers as well as seeing what we can do to improve the stability of the coin via wallet updates.

1. All pools were contacted to update to the new wallet. 2. If you download the new wallet from here : https://github.com/IOCoin/iocoin/releases/tag/v1.1.0.0 to see if the pool is mining on the correct fork go into Help>Debug Window>Console and type getinfo then press enter (somewhere you will find "blocks" : X). If the pool is on the same block as the wallet you should be ok with mining there. (Any other questions about payments etc you would have to check with the pools). 3. Make sure to uninstall the original wallet and delete everything in the %Approam% folder except for wallet.dat (make sure you have a backup so you dont lose your coins) before updating to the new wallet. 4. Logo contest is a 1BTC reward that ends 08/02 as mentioned in OP (has to be a modification of the original I/O logo) 5. Send a pm after you have posted a translation and a BTC addy to get your reward.(lock your translation by posting in the thread so we dont have duplicates) 6.We have contacted bigger exchanges and are awaiting code review and addition.

Dev, you can't put an update without letting everyone involved in advance, I've already updated to the latest source and am running on the right fork but am fixing a cronjob/DB issue caused by the switch. I'll post when it's ready.
Thank you , we apologize for any inconvenience. We just wanted to be sure none of the miners are mining thin air.
