241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it? on: March 19, 2024, 08:35:31 AM
Hi everyone,

Gambling has become very popular in the world , especially after the changes that have occurred over the years with modern technology and the abundance of games, we can now gamble with one push    anywhere and anytime . More money is flowing to sites and casinos in huge quantities, and everyone’s goal is to win more ,As is always known, if there is a loser, there is a winner, and I don't think that the percentage of losers is greater than the winners .

Is this true gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it?
gambling had been in existence before technology became predominant in the world and people have engaged in gambling for a long time ago and had lost their money as well as win in the process of gambling and for some, the fact that you can either win or lose is one beauty that's associated with the game of gambling.

To be honest, the reason why gambling sites are still in business is basically because they are making profit and that suggest that the percentage of those losing is greater than the percentage of those winning. All things being equal, gambling is a neutral stuff that if your predictions are right you won't be denied your win and I doubt it's been designed to make players loose out their funds except they are their predictions re wrong.

My people, I greet una. Few weeks ago when dollar was 1900, things were very expensive, now wey dollar be 1540 shey things suppose come down? Abeg anything come down for una side? Abi nothing da come down for Nigeria? This matter don tire me. Went to the market yesterday and I actually expected things to reduce due to dollar little stability, but reverse is the case. Seems this country is getting worse. How una see am?
what you should have asked yourself is, what's the state of the economy before the whole dollar increase? Things was actually very expensive but it's just that out overly adaptive nature to negative change made us to become used to it after a long while and we slowly forget how things had been in the past.

It's true that things have not gone back to normal and I don't even know what to call normal because we've never lived in a normal time but some goods have reduced in price in my area and price of transportation that was increased to 3h has been brought back to 2h but that's not to suggest that things have really improved that much.

It's been a long time we've hard cases of armed robbery in my area but from that period when things went too expensive, it's now almost a regular thing that we have cases of armed robbery almost everyday due to how deficult life has become for the average masses.

The information that led to your conclusion is too small to be debated upon. It's possible that's his car or not his. it's also possible that his income is high but his responsibility is too much and he can't possibly meet up with those responsibilities and still get a luxurious car.

Some persons are too business minded that they often don't take things like fancy cars seriously and although there car might not be all that fashionable, there investment and savings can save your flat ass from that shitty situation that brought you under that mango tree. But again, we can't deny the fact that most lecturers are under paid and the ones that have high moral standard and that wouldn't want to extort money from student would normally not leave the kind of life you would normally expect someone of their caliber to live but i still feel that anyone that has that mental capacity that will put him in a position to become a prof should have figured his financially life out such that basic things wont necessarily be his problem.

Wetin go happen now, if person lost all access to him wallet. Imagine say, due to flood, crisis, fire, theft , person lost in wallet phrase, phone, laptop, drive or books or whatever related to your wallet recovery and safety.

For many area for the world , e get places wey dey always experience extreme weather condition such as heavy rain and flood, fire outbreaks, tornado, war and other situation.
If person lost all access wetin e go do. Make I ask you, wetin you go do for such situation.
as you de save your wallet for locations when you think say de safe, try crame am small for head, e get y.

When most of us been de school, we crame plenty things for head and some of them still de our head till today and now when e don reach time to crime wetin relate to our money e come be like say our head don block finish. I been read say the most unsafe place to store your seed phrase na to save am for your head because say you fit forget am but me don use my own create song when I no go fit forget no matter what. Some of us can literally sing A for apple, B for ball, C for cup and so on even though it's been long we learnt it and it's now part of us.

But let's imagin the worst case scenario that you've lost access to your phrase when means you can't access your fund, wetin you fit do na, e no get as e wan take be na, wetin don be done be and na to just face front comot body.

👉how do you feel when peopel ask you for money to gamble?, do you gamble with debt?  Or would you never indulge in such no matter how sure you are about the game ?

it's a normal thing with most gamblers to share prediction with themselves and some will believe certain predictions to the extent that they might even decide to give you some money to make the stake if you are not with one. Most sports gamblers bond like one happy family because of the normal gambling shops that brings them together and so it's normal to ask for help when they don't have money to gamble at the moment.

Generally, it's not a good practice to gamble to a point were you have to beg others for money to aid you in your gambling but let's say the person has no choice than getting the help from me, I won't hesitate to give him/her. Have I ever given anyone money for gambling? Not one I can remember. Has anyone ever asked me money to be used for gambling? Yeah, but he was a reckless gambler and I didn't even take him seriously so I refused him.
246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making decisions while betting on: March 18, 2024, 09:23:00 AM

How do we regulate our emotions while betting and how important is it?

as long as you're human, you can't factor out the role of your psychological state while making any decisions but as regards making gambling decisions, emotion can put you in a corner where you break your set out gambling roles and maybe go above your limit if care isn't taken. But life isn't ideal and situations as that can be the one that might give you your best win or worst loss which will all contribute to making you more experienced and better matured to dealing with whatever emotional shit that will come your way while you're gambling.
247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 18, 2024, 09:12:25 AM
I was really surprised over the outcome of the Liverpool and Man UTD FA Cup match because honestly I didn't see that coming. A 4-2 finish is something fans will be exhilirated about since Man UTD are showing them they've still got the stuff in them and this performance has pushed them to the semi's and I'm actually anxious to know who Erik's men will be paired against. At least they can hold on to this one since they aren't in the top three struggling for the trophy, of they manage to get past everyone and win this FA cup trophy, it can boost the confidence of fans.
Liverpool tried all they could in that game and for the first time in a long while they couldn't come back from a defeat and the way the whole thing turned out it looked as if they were content to bow out of this one so they can focus on Europa and the League.
Jurgen Klopp's men were unarguably the better side in yesterday's game but at the end what matters is not how well you poach your enemy's defense, it's the three points that matters and I'm hoping they don't continue this way else they will have to forfeit their dreams of climbing back on top because they had the upper hand in the first half, but struggled to get a third goal that would have sealed their victory, instead bottled their chances when Anthony scored in the 87 minute.
it obviously came as a shock to so many and for me, I had concluded before the start of the game that Liverpool was going to win against Manchester United but work didn't allow me watch the march and I hard to follow up live score, seeing the score from the first half, it was as though my predictions where right as Liverpool was on a dominating side but the turn of event that happened when Anthony equalized and leveled th game to a 2:2 draw and with Dallas 121st minutes goal, it dawned on me that manchester has united themselves against Liverpool to send them packing out of the FA cup. Although Liverpool controlled the game to some extent, they where still very much sloppy with their passes and it all contributed to thier defeat.
248  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Killing of Army officers in Delta State on: March 18, 2024, 08:49:22 AM
It's easy to point accusing fingers on the locals for killing those army officers when you've not been involved in communal crisis and solders are being sent to oppress you. I Condemn the killing of the army officers in it entirety but let's also understand that sometimes politicians make use of this soldiers for their own personal gains and when locals are left with no option than fighting these solders just to defend their mother land and one of the soldiers are killed in the process, it pains them to thier bone and they poor out all thier anger on locals, burning houses and killing innocent citizens that knows nothing about the incident.

I've been involved in a communal crisis where matter regarding boundary  adjustment  lead to the fight and because a particular man felt he was close to the government and can bring soldiers to threaten the rival community, brought in some soldiers in the guess of restoring peace but in the real sense used them to secretly kill is rival in secret. If you're in such position and you have your way, can you allow those military men to go Scott free? The problem is that our society don't want to get things right and the kind of power we give to our military men and politicians is just too much that an average citizen can't stand up to defend his right.

I don't have the details that led to this particular killing but from my little experience and information, an average Nigerian youth knows the ripalcusion that comes with killing a military man and wouldn't want to try it except he has no other option left.
249  Economy / Economics / Re: Hardship as a global problem on: March 18, 2024, 08:22:06 AM
Currently in the world today.hardship is every where, it is not just a country problem but a universal phenomenon that is occurring rapidly. It is clearly seen that people are literally not able to eat even a square meal for a day. Especially those in under developed countries.hardship which is now a global spread has taken its roots in the world today. We now seat and face our day to day survival with no hope of what would happen next. Sincerely I think this great problem can be resolved if nations could come together and create a universal solution to it
hardship has always been a part of the global economy since the inception of the world and regardless of whatever policies the government and the world leaders might bring on board, hardship can't be eradicated out of the world.  I know that the policies of our leaders can go a long way in reducing the rate of hardship that's ravaging the land but when it comes to a long term solution to reducing the rate of hardship in the land, it's more of the ability of individuals to take their lives seriously and become more responsible for their lives.

Every need to have that mentality that their life is first off, their number one priority and what they decide to make out of it is first off, their responsibility. There can't come a time when the whole world can decide that hardship should stop and it will just stop. There had been series of plans and policies and organization that had been set up to help reduce the rate of hardship in the world and although they have been doing their best, there are and there will still exist countless numbers of people that arw still in hardship and that will still continue in hardship. Their is nothing like a perfect society and so we just have to work a bit towards getting to becoming a bit better than how we are and that's just it.
250  Economy / Economics / Re: Digital Bank on: March 18, 2024, 08:11:33 AM
Anyone who is familiar with digital bank?  All I know is that, unlike traditional bank, they do not have the bank building hence saving them from all costs related to it.  In my country, they are offering higher interest rates returns compare to their traditional bank counterpart.  Anyone knows the reason why they can do that?  Also, what is the pros and cons of using digital bank instead of traditional bank?
one of the major factors most users of digital banking consider that makes them prefer it to the traditional banking system is basically due the the convenience they provide and the stress free nature it has. Most traditional banking institutions have been known to be prone to series of network issues and poor customer services whenever you visit them for some minor issues and what's happening is that mobile banking apps are just improving on the weaknesses of tgw traditional banks to there own advantage.

You know, as the world continues to evolve by the day, decentralized systems has come to gain dominance over the traditional and outdated system of making financial transactions and whatever appears as a source of liberation from the over regulatory policies of most traditional bank is going to gain public acceptance regardless of whatever additional cost it might involve.
251  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 16, 2024, 11:54:05 AM
Holders of Bitcoins can certainly get the ATH of Bitcoin as well as the DIP. But finding the Bitcoin Deep is truly a matter of luck for many. To be a Bitcoin holder it's not how much investment he has, I think it's how much he believes in Bitcoin that is the matter.
if you had changed the last part of your statement, maybe you should have made a little sense but what you said here, you've not made the right statement.

Believing in Bitcoin is good but what's the essence of believing in Bitcoin without having much investment? How much investment you have is very important and it's absolutely more importantly than what you believe. That you have investment much into Bitcoin suggests that you believe in Bitcoin and what you're trying to say in the religion sense could be compared to mere having faith without putting in the needed work. Just like faith without work is dead, having a strong believe and hope in Bitcoin without investing much into Bitcoin is literally waste of knowledge, fake believe and wouldn't do you any good.
252  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If you can't Invest in Bitcoin, buy assets on: March 15, 2024, 01:38:12 PM
I think no need to buy other assets. While Bitcoin into your grip you can buy this and hold for 4-10 years... It can return you a lot.
who are you buying Bitcoin? Is it just people are telling you to do so or it's basically because you want to make profit out of it.

Buying Bitcoin and holding for the four year interval is good and I'm not suggesting it's not but you should also know that it's not good to put all our eggs in one basket and that's the reason we might consider another form of investment that we can run to if in times of emergency or that can even help us invest more into our Bitcoin.

Let's assume you invested into real estate and you have houses you've given out for rent, don't you know that ymif you're accumulating Bitcoin with the DCA strategy, it's even easy to collect your rent on a monthly bases during which you can use like 50% of the money to buy Bitcoin and keep the rest for your upkeep and other impromptu activity?
253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Online Crypto-Gambling Legal in a Country Without Gambling Laws? on: March 15, 2024, 07:43:36 AM
legality of online crypto-gambling in countries like the UAE or Saudi Arabia, where traditional gambling is illegal, is a complex issue.
Is Online Crypto-Gambling Legal in a Country Without Gambling Laws?
although you're kind of confusing yourself in the title and context of your post, if local gambling isn't legal in your country, their is high probability that restrictions might affect every form of gambling and what's always the case is that online crypto gambling site might not allow you to access their site or rather your government might not allow such site to function in their territory but if you're able to access a crypto gambling site with your mobile device, then it's possible they aren't taking the ban or sanction seriously.

If a nation takes laws against certain practice seriously, you don't necessarily need to ask for suggestions for externals cause it's going to be a popular knowledge that's to be known by all.gambiing has gained popularity in all part of the world and I don't think it's all that possible for an outright ban of any form of gambling in a country. What's possible might be some form of restriction which is basically to regulate the rate of gambling engagement by youths.
254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 15, 2024, 07:35:48 AM
Shift in standings has actually occurred and indeed the competition will be very fierce until the competition ends, there is no guarantee of certainty in determining who will win the title.
Arsenal as the top of the standings has the same points as Liverpool and Manchester City who are in 3rd place, only 1 point different from Liverpool and Arsenal.

Arteta, Pep and Klopp are competing to be able to bring the team they are training to fight for the title, the competition still has 9 matches remaining and this competition will continue.
Klopp will clearly leave Liverpool at the end of the season but for Pep I not sure he will leave, with Pep Manchester City have achieved success in the previous two seasons.
On the other hand, Klopp really wants to be able to lead Liverpool to win the title this season for his final season as Liverpool coach.

Even though Manchester City is in 3rd place, they are the favorite team and everyone hopes that Manchester City can return to win the title, after all the bookies also give Manchester City the advantage.
this is the beauty of the premier League. All the teams in the top four has great potential to winning the league with amazing managers managers like Arteta, Pep and Klopp who are damn good with their strategies  and will put in their all to see that they won't loose our in any of the upcoming encounters but at the end of the day one will definitely come out as the champion.
255  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The danger of gender inequality on: March 15, 2024, 07:12:50 AM
Two candidates visited my office two days ago to submit their applications for the position of a health assistant. I had the honor of taking part in the interviews with them. After the interview, the candidate did very well, but the CMD chose to hire the male candidate because of his physical strength and height as the best contender for the position. He didn't even give the female applicant a chance to demonstrate her qualifications. What do you think about this?
every job have specification and employers most times have the kind of people they want to accept for each position in mind before  putting out an advert for a particular vacancy. If the job can be best performed by the male folks,  then there is nothing wrong if they are employed and the same is what is applicable for jobs that suit the female gender. Most managers employing receptionist would normally opt for females because the nature of the jobs suit the females more but when it comes to jobs that requires the use of energy, there nothing to argue about, the male will always be preferred to the female.

We can't deny the fact that there are folks that are too gender conscious and would always prefer a particular gender to another which is obviously wrong but putting all things into perspective, as long as you are relying on others for your employment, they have the final say on who they want to accept into their organisation and whatever decisions they make is totally up to them.
256  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Implications of War on Individuals on: March 15, 2024, 07:00:27 AM

- do you have any survival tips during war period?
the best survival tips during times of war is to do anything possible and just survive. Wars are not fought theoretically and most times, it doesn't follow a particular set out order so the possibility of  surviving war because you've read out some shitty strategies from a particular book is very slim.

- are there any business that I can do during a period of war so as to sustain my family? Can I still budget, save and earn in Bitcoin?
lol! Have you ever witnessed a communal crisis? The last thing you would probably think of is any business you should be doing when you're at war or to even invest. In the first place, you're not even sure you can make it out of that war alive and you are talking about investing for a future that's uncertain?

- What is the economic impacts on individuals with families and how do I sustain them during war period.
this is the only necessary question you should be asking and the sincere answer is that for most serious wars like what's happening in Russia and Ukraine, those residents in the major war affected zones always experience crippled economy and there is always no difference between the rich and the poor so everybody have to basically rely on humanitarian aids from external sources as they can't really go a out doing major business at all.

War isn't something anyone would want to wish he gets sucked Into to be honest.

Warren Buffet has dreamt last night that he has met Satoshi Nakamoto and bought 100 BTC at a price of $50000 per Bitcoin. His friend told a media reporter.

Whether it is true or false I don't know yet  but some one has phoned me and told the story that my friend Warren Buffet has dreamt Satoshi Nakamoto.

If it is true then he will buy Bitcoin soon!  To bank on Bitcoin.
I bet you don't want to know what I dreamt about last night, do you? Well let me tell you;

I dreamt where I bought the whole white house! Should that be a threat? I doubt.

Anyone can dream whatever he sees and that's just the Persons issue. Bitcoin has gone past the stage where we need a single individual dream or nightmares for it popularity to grow better.
258  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If you can't Invest in Bitcoin, buy assets on: March 14, 2024, 12:16:16 PM
If you're a good business person that knows how to read the times and study the market, there is so much you can make out of this consistent increase in the price of major goods in this country
Does that mean, that we should be happy when the price of things constantly increase in the market? For all I know, what ever goods you are selling or what ever business you are into, an increase in price in the general market will also make you spend more than you used to while purchasing your goods. . We shouldn't see the condition of the country as a means to be smart as we will all suffer the consequences. If you notice in This country, what goes up doesn't come down.
I'm not suggesting we should be happy whenever things gets too expensive in the market and I'm totally against anyone that tries to use such increase in price to over inflate the price of goods. What I'm talking about is investing in real assets that's known to have a consistent increase in it price overtime.  I don't see anything selfish about ceasing certain opportunities to our advantage, isn't that what business is all about? Because of how valueless our Naira is in the global stage, most person prefer to save their money in dollar so they wouldn't be at a disadvantage. It doesn't mean that they are less patriotic or that they don't want the value of the naira to gain above it current state, it's just a normal business strategy to always cease opportunities that will profit you in the long run. When Bitcoin was low in value, those that understood that it was going to climb above it previous value bought as much as they could and they are currently in profit and that's good enough.

I really dont get this part of your thread. Do you mean bounty or business? If it's business, yea an average Nigerian should have more than one source of income due to the condition of our economy. Bitcoin still is the best investment online but you should as usual, diversify your investment to reach a wider range of profit in the long run.
maybe I made use of a wrong choice of word. What I meant by bounty is more like flourishing, productive or something like that.
259  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / If you can't Invest in Bitcoin, buy assets on: March 14, 2024, 11:23:53 AM
When you go to the market to discover that a material that was sold for 50k last three months is now valued at 120k, what comes to your mind? The normal thing is to shout and point accusing fingers at our leaders and how bad the economy has become but do you know that you've walked into an investment opportunity and never knew or saw it?

If you're a good business person that knows how to read the times and study the market, there is so much you can make out of this consistent increase in the price of major goods in this country.

In this country, any real asset you buy today will be at least five times it current value in the next five years and if you think I'm wrong you can take yourself five years backwards and look at the prices of so many common stuffs like roofing zincs, cement, phones, all building material, lands and even normal vehicles.

As we set out part of our resource into Bitcoin investments, let's not close our eyes to the bounty opportunity that's available for us  to possibly invest into that will certainly yield a good amount of profit for us in five or ten years to come.
260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When is best for a player to draw the line? on: March 14, 2024, 08:38:26 AM
The reality is that before you're at the point when you have to decide if you will stop or not, you are actually addicted and at such point you cant just stop because you want to.

Why don't we talk about ways to gamble such that we don't get ourselves in the mix of either becoming addicted or loosing too much.  Like, setting out an amount and limit you would never go above regardless of the urge to. You've seen what happened during the recent boxing combat between Anthony Joshua and Francesca where drake used $615k in a single stake and still lost it. He's been known for making stakes of similar amount and I guess considering his level of wealth, that's not a big deal but big figures have also continuously made stakes like this over and over again untill they end up being totally broke. What I'm saying basically is that it's necessary we work with our limits and that way we won't even considering quitting at all.
