241  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transferring BTC on: February 21, 2023, 01:00:19 PM
You can reuse the same Bitcoin address. However, if you want to maintain some privacy it's generally recommended to use a new address every time you want to receive payment.

The advice is valuable and I do it exactly that way, but it could turn into an administrative nightmare when bills like these come into effect everywhere in the world. Unless you stick to p2p transactions, but if you want to exit some crypto for fiat you would have to pass KYC for every single wallet address that you used to receive funds and transferred funds to virtual asset service provider (as they call it).
242  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: February 21, 2023, 12:51:07 PM
What is actually the legal situation for the donated funds? As JayJuanGee said it doesn't matter what cause they have been used for but they should go back in order to reimburse creditors.

Now let's say I run a cancer research institution and receive a million dollars and spend it, can I be legally forced to pay it back? What if the money came from an anonymous sender in the first place and only later do I find out that it was misappropriated? I mean the result can't really be that I might have to go into insolvency, can it?

I am still puzzled how this 30 year old kiddy pulled of a scam in just a couple of years that was half the size of that of Bernie Madoff, which actually took decades to build up! Cheesy
243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 20, 2023, 05:24:03 PM
The latest on the transfer rumours is that PSG are monitoring 3 forwards from the Bundesliga club. The first is Kolo Muani from Frankfurt, the other two players are Marcus Thuram and Manu Kone who are players from Gladbach. All three are still quite young and it looks like this will only become a reality if Neymar does leave PSG in the summer transfer window.

Source: https://www.instagram.com/p/Co4Nc_9qs1q/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

If I'm not mistaken, Marcus Thuram's contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach will expire at the end of this season. So, PSG or any other club can transfer him for free. This is a great opportunity. Also, Marcus Thuram has proven himself in Germany. He also plays for the French national team. I think he is a valuable football player.

Also, Messi's contract will expire at the end of the season if I remember correctly. If PSG want to continue to be an ambitious team next season, they have to transfer a few quality forwards already.

I think whether or not they are going to sign some forwards also depends on what Neymar is going to do and whether they want to keep him in the team or not. His number of injuries and escapades is outrageous. It is sad because he is an amazing talent, but he never put 100% of his focus on soccer. If you have him on the team it is hard with Neymar, Messi and Mbappe to sign other great players and promise that they get their chances. That would mean you have to leave someone of the three out and that will end in a lot of drama.
244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 19, 2023, 12:04:36 PM
As usual, Real Madrid scored a lot after 70 minutes, and they did it again in this game. This victory is very important for them considering that Barcelona has widened the distance with them after several weeks of bad luck befalling Real Madrid. Federico Valderde and Marco Asensio became Real Madrid's winning actors by creating 1 goal each.

Eight points the difference between Madrid and Barcelona if they win against Cadiz. And it looks like they're going to win, because Barcelona's players are better. IMO. Although there are still sixteen games left, the gap is quite wide. Real Madrid's best move is to always win the rest of the game and hope that Barcelona loses a few games. What makes me curious is why Anceloti didn't transfer players to add strength. I have a little doubt because the best players of real Madrid at this time have entered old age. I hope Real have more than one trophy this season, hopefully it will be UCL or La Liga.

Cadiz has the third weakest offense in La Liga and I expect Barcelona to keep another clean sheet. All the next games in La Liga are also going to be rather easy for Barcelona and Real Madrid can't expect Barcelona to make mistakes. The air is getting thinner now with every week passing by.

I did not expect Manchester United to play that well in Barcelona to be honest. That might be of importance as Barcelona might give a break to some players today?
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Crypto Winter on: June 25, 2022, 03:39:35 PM
Since its creation Bitcoin has experienced a total of 3 "bear seasons" and we are in season 4 right now.

The most recent bear season happened in 2018-2020, At the end of 2017, the Bitcoin craze was because by the panicking of the investors. In 2017 Bitcoin gained $20K value from $1K.Then it dumped of a sudden more than 80% and dropped the value near around $3k within Q4 of 2018, resulting in the total cryptocurrency market cap falling by more than 80%.

After the halving year 2020, we go through the highest bull season max x20.8 times increased, and we acquired the height value of around $67K within Q4 of 2021. Currently, bitcoin is trading at $23.44k.

Where will bitcoin's final bottom level be during this bear season and what will be bitcoin's new ATH level in the next bull season?

Your input will be greatly appreciated.

That is an interesting overview you provided there, thank you. I think in the back of my head I would have expected your table to look roughly like that, but I never put in the effort to crunch some numbers. It does remain to be seen how the overall market develops in the near and mid-term future, but the pattern makes sense. Certainly it was easy for Bitcoin to go absolutely parabolic during the years right after it was launched. Now it requires a lot more money to move it substantially towards a certain multiplier, but I feel confident it will happen again that we will see it reach a decent multiple very soon. Especially from where we are now I think there is a phase ahead of us where it is going to outperform any other asset class by far. For now the market is a bit shaky, but patience is key. Good graphic!
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: MEME coins are good to invest? on: December 17, 2021, 06:38:48 PM
What Is SpaceDawgs? I found this meme coin on twitter... Look what they write about this project and let me know what you think

Lol , i if i were to choose when the time you posted this?

I will clearly choose SHIBA INU , and look at it now? while your Spacedawgs remain lowering , SHIB make it to the top next to Dogecoin .

and are you a team member of this project?

You are right, from that said time being better to choose Shiba  the outcome as this moment is very huge,
lots of investors from that stage reallu enjoy the benefits from this project, meme is meme so better to
work with how you will ride with this kind of investment.

If somebody chooses to invest in meme coins for the lols it might be alright, but if someone wants to make their first moves in the crypto space and get to know how the market works, I would say that meme coins are the worst choice among all cryptocurrencies out there. If you take DOGE as an example, does that mean that you have to be sitting in front of your Twitter all day long refreshing Elon Musk's account to see whether he tweeted about DOGE again in order to get in? I would stick to some more established coins with a real feature set.
247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange or hardware wallet ? on: December 17, 2021, 06:36:04 PM
I would add that it really depends on the exchange and the amount we are talking about relative to your overall wealth. I am not giving an arbitrary number now as 100 dollars could mean something very different to someone  poor than to someone rich.

But when you have a rather small amount and you store that on an exchange like Coinbase, the chance that you are going to lose that crypto due to a hack is really small in my opinion. I guess Coinbase even has something like a deposit insurance required by regulators. There are often times limits though as per individual, but that's why I said it also depends on the amount.

So people use Hardware Wallets only to escape from the hands of hackers? Hackers are also able to steal your funds from HW if you are not aware of it. Coinbase is regulated by the regulatory body does that mean your money is safe there? If Coinbase stopped its service today, and seize your funds, would you be able to withdraw your Bitcoins from Coinbase? Did they give you a private key? Listen, people use HW not only to avoid hacking but also to get rid of control of the regulatory body.

You argue in a way that allows for either black or white only. That's nonsense. I deliberately pointed out the difference between small amounts of investors who want to get in but have no idea about dealing with cryptos in a secure way and people who got some more money on the line. When you are playing around with a 100 bucks as a US citizen, you might be alright keeping it on Coinbase as I do indeed deem chances for Coinbase to collapse very low. There are people who want to get in with just a little amount of money, but are not eager to deal with hardware wallets or paper wallets and stuff. That doesn't mean I would not prefer a hardware wallet over leaving my coins on an exchange, I do indeed use hardware wallets. But I get where some people are coming from when they deem it too much of a hassle to secure their 100 bucks in crypto with a hardware wallet.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum on: December 17, 2021, 06:27:19 PM
I'm glad there's a person who came well-intentionally and asked this excellent question. I hope the responses you'll get, will satisfy you. To me, it's a matter of opinions of what's better.

You see, newcomers look on a cryptocurrency that way and try to define its value superficially. Does it have these “smart contracts”? Is it better in terms of utility? Could this new feature it has make the difference?

However, they don't ask themselves what's the monetary policy of each cryptocurrency and to be honest, that's the only thing I judge when I evaluate a currency. Even if in “terms of utility” it's better than any other, what to do with it if an entity owns the majority of the coins? Or, what to do if this very entity can have a huge impact on the community or the market?

It's pretty clear that I'm taking part in a highly hierarchical system this way, which I'm strongly disagreed with. And this is what gives Bitcoin its value; the fact that it has the greatest monetary policy, humanity has ever witnessed.

I choose not to compare them in any way other than their monetary policy. Either way, they are two different innovations providing different solutions for different problems. The only common thing they share is that they're both currencies. They can must co-exist.

If I get you right you are saying that Bitcoin has value because there is not a single entity owning the majority of the coins. How do you derive that conclusion? What do you define as an entity? Could an entity be a sector as well, i.e. exchanges as one entity cooperating/colluding driving prices up and down? What about Tether's potential influence? Isn't that rather bad monetary policy than good monetary policy if the price can be affected by blockchain based money printing? I could imagine that the largest exchanges own a majority of the coins altogether. I could also imagine that they do meet up and have strategy talks.

I still see what you are saying here, but some question remain that could very well at least cast doubt to Bitcoin's capacity for sound monetary policy.
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC vs GOLD on: December 17, 2021, 06:16:33 PM
Bitcoin doesn't really affect gold because of different markets and of course different investment strategies. the price of gold looks more stable suitable for storing wealth while bitcoin in my opinion is the most popular investment now because the price can rise significantly in just a few months

It does affect gold in that Bitcoin draws away attention from gold as one major investment alternative. I have no statistics at hand right now, but I can imagine that people who decided to buy some gold 12 years ago now rather look into cryptocurrencies and invest their money there. Crypto definitely drew attention away from long established investment markets.
250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Xi, Putin wants Bitcoin without wanting Bitcoin on: December 17, 2021, 06:14:42 PM
At first, I wasn't sure if the news were legit, but I found articles on Russian news websites about it, so it seems like the talk actually happened. They want an infrastructure that won't be under control of third countries, but there's a big potential difference from Bitcoin: there's nothing there about the financial infrastructure being independent altogether. Bitcoin's not under control of the US, but it's not under control of China or Russia either. I believe this is not desirable for Putin and Xi, as they'd prefer a centralized currency that would be under their mutual control. That being said, it might be very hard to achieve, so they might settle on something like Bitcoin as good enough.

I severely doubt that they would consider using any public network for value transfers. Beyond the fact that they prefer their trade activity not to be under control by third parties, they might also want their transactions to stay anonymous. It will definitely not be a currency or financial infrastructure as independent as and hence will still be prone to attacks from outsiders. It's going to be exciting to see what they are coming up with (if we ever find out).
251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 11 years without Satoshi on: December 17, 2021, 06:11:13 PM
I also hope that Satoshi will stay anonymous for good so that bitcoin will stay decentralized the whole time. And i don't think it will make a difference if Satoshi suddenly comes back because i believe people have been used to bitcoin who is not controlled by any entity or group. And in fact, 11 years without Satoshi, bitcoin has become more developed and gets acknowledgement from the crowd. So it has made great achievements even without Satoshi in its side.
If satoshi carefully and successfully did many things to stay anonymous at beginning and early years of Bitcoin development and operation, satoshi would be wisely and carefully enough to maintain it 11 years later.

Only if satoshi proactively wants to reveal real identity, no one can find satoshi in person.

I think even if Satoshi has not come back physically, but secretly he is eyeing bitcoin and the current events happening in bitcoin. But it will do more good if he chose to be anonymous the whole time bitcoin is decentralized because it will only create a huge impact on the market once he decides to show up. And there will be lots of criticisms for Satoshi, but i know for sure we will be more grateful to see him and thank for his invention. That's for bitcoin lovers.
If satoshi comes back, it would be come from due diligent reasons which I can not imagine of at this moment. Do you imagine any possible reason for satoshi to return? I guess no reason for satoshi.

Bitcoin network runs 24/7 without satoshi. Protocol upgrades done successfully without satoshi but with thousands of votes from nodes. Developments of Bitcoin Core done by many top-notch developers without satoshi or satoshi is one of them, just under another name.

Overally, Bitcoin can keep going without satoshi and satoshi can enjoy permanent anonymity.

I think the most important question to answer in order to find out about Satoshi's overall motivation for any actions taken would be whether he/she/they are private individuals, part of an organization or even a project led by a national government. A government would want to stay anonymous for totally different reasons than private individuals. As we don't even have a piece of information about the origins or affiliations of the creator/s, it is literally worthless to speculate about motivations for staying anonymous.
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the fundamental goal of bitcoin on: December 17, 2021, 11:01:53 AM
You will find this misconception that people are saying that Bitcoin was supposed to be developed to replace Fiat currencies, but that is simply wrong. Satoshi Nakamoto did not like what the Banking system did with the Fractional reserve crisis back in 2007/2008 and how governments bailed out those Banks during that crisis, so Satoshi decided to develop Bitcoin to provide people with an alternative currency, if they did not want to support a corrupt relationship like that.

Satoshi never said Bitcoin was created to replace Fiat currencies, because he knew it would not happen, because the governments would never allow it. (Why should we be forced to use only one option that are backed by corrupt practices?)

Who knows for how long Satoshi has been working on the protocol when the crisis hit? Maybe he was working on it for years and years even before the crisis hit. It is possible that he understood back then that the timing was just perfect for the protocol to be finished and launched back at the time. Initially, his motivation could have been to just develop a value transfer mechanism for the Internet, but once the crisis came into play the events perfectly played out in his favor.
253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tell one good reason why Satoshi should come back on: December 17, 2021, 10:57:15 AM
Besides Satoshi coming back simply to contribute to the Bitcoin Core software, then I can't really think of anything else. The downsides simply heavily outweighs the upsides especially concerning his/her/their personal security/privacy.

And if Satoshi would come back to contribute, he/she/they should definitely do it under a different pseudonym. (assuming Satoshi isn't actually actively contributing today under a different name.)

As long he isn't necessarily interested in receiving the Noble Prize, there is really no incentive to reveal the identity behind the pseudonym Satoshi. I don't even care who he is. The one thing I would like to know is whether Satoshi's coins will ever be moved in the future.
254  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks will die crypto will take over in 5-10 years on: December 17, 2021, 09:34:38 AM
On the other hand, It's not possible to avoid banks in everyday people's life. A bank is the most trusted media by people's practical world. So everyone can't want of bank's death very early the mentioned topics. So stay with the bank for your safe life & livelihood.

Saying Banks will he replace by crypto is the delusional talk and arguments to talk about in the first place, we both need each other survive this adoption we all need. Banks will get a massive turnout investors from crypto who will want to make a deposit and in return crypto will on board millions of people including those who are very less interested in cryptocurrency.
I know the government want a regulation, it's for everyone benefits and clean money. Nobody will want to talk bad about crypto again, it will seen as a clean money and everyone will be happy when there is a bull run unlike the way India is trying to Fud everyone in the system.

I agree with their position, in fact I believe that many governments will begin to highlight BTC from now on, taking it into account for our digital economy, I do not believe that they will replace banks, rather I believe that banks will adapt to the world crypto and it is not a bad thing, because they would continue to maintain all security but offer a service that at given times can give much more than expected, in fact BBVA already considered it and I think that at least in Spain some series of banks already receive cryptocurrencies .

That's a good point of view, but if banks become an integral part of the digital economy where Bitcoin might play an important role in the future, there is also a possibility that banks somehow implement extra fees for facilitating transactions or providing other financial services relating to Bitcoin. It remains to be seen if they contribute to Bitcoin becoming a real option for people or whether they create additional cost that further exacerbate the tx fees dilemma of Bitcoin.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: price of CAKE $50 realistic? on: December 16, 2021, 09:06:49 PM
What prospects do you think the CAKE coin has? It's worth $20 now and used to be $40 (ATH). This DEFI token is for trading and stacking. I plan to hold it (and stake it as well) and sell it for $50. What do you think is a good idea?
It is good for you if you can hold it for a long time. Because CAKE will not able to reach $50 in 2022. Coz  now there are many more dex exchanges besides Pancakeswap providing swapping for BSC network so CAKE  will take a long time to reach $50

Yes the competition in the exchange space is constantly growing, but usually the project lead should have enough money to add new functionalities to Pancakeswap and also do research and innovation. Right now they are in a great position to extend the lead they have right now in the BSC network comported to other decentralized exchanges, but it seems right now as if they aren't putting in a lot of effort to improve their trading platform.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the balance problem of cryptocurrencies? on: December 16, 2021, 09:03:51 PM
Cryptocurrency is still a lot of interest in investment. Even in my opinion, investment in Crypto is more profitable in the future compared to investment in other sectors. Before the famous Crypto was wide, promising investment was investment in the golden sector, but at this time the most popular investment was Crypto, even though I could not provide clear evidence.
There is no need to provide clear evidence for this because it is clearly visible among the public where when people say investment they will immediately think of cryptocurrency first even though other things are also more profitable, such as property and gold.
Since 2010 I felt that investment in the gold sector had begun to decline and turned to Cryptocurrency investment. One thing in my opinion why investment in cryptocurrency is more enthusiasts now because it is more transparent, especially the investment choice is Bitcoin.

I don't know if it is more transparent. It is definitely more volatile and harder to anticipate what's going to happen in the future in regards to use cases and regulatory developments. When it comes to gold it is relatively obvious what can be done with gold and the volatility is much lower than in the crypto space. Bitcoin, however, is quite spectacular and attracts a lot of investors because it is a brand new technology.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: October and December are the months of Crypto ??? on: December 16, 2021, 09:02:02 PM
What are the purposes for putting money in banks which will only give you 7-8 % annually, when you can invest that money in BCX getting up to15% per annum for staking? And on top of that you will also earn additional BCX from the Block rewards and gas fees

I am quite impressed by the banks you seem to know that are paying 7 - 8 % interest annually. Could you name some of those banks? I have no idea whether there is even a single bank that is paying 2% interest right now. The high interest rates in crypto are also due to first mover advantages. I think the more people join crypto, the less interest there will be for everyone.
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can BNB rise to950? on: December 16, 2021, 08:44:00 AM
Can BNB rise to950?
REF is 690
of course and really believe it will happen even I think the price of BNB will pass 950. if you look at the development of the BNB price to reach the price of 950 it is not impossible but we all don't know when it will happen, in the near future or we all have to wait a few years later.

It's true that reaching price $950 or even a lot higher by BNB shouldn't be a problem. I also agree that it is not known exactly when this will happen. However, I don't think it will last for several years. In my opinion, the $950 price should be reached by BNB within a few months at the most.

It depends on the crypto market as a whole as BNB to a large degree also seems to depend on the overall performance of the whole crypto market. If we have another really positive push upwards, I think that BNB will one day break the $1000 mark. There is definitely potential and as long as Binance can keep growing I don't see a reason why it should not be possible for it to make some big moves in the future.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to buy BNB at the right time? on: December 16, 2021, 08:42:31 AM
It is necessary to be aware of this potential and make purchases for it. In the near future, coins will indeed increase and gain in value significantly.
when entering early febuary this year starting from still below $40, BNB immediately moved up rapidly in just 5 months already reaching ATH $686.31 - May 10, 2021, certainly the best achievement done by BNB. so it is true that BNB has the potential to continue to increase in the future.

It's the cycle.

Coins like BNB might be at dumping today but it won't stop there. It can go on a long bear market again and the price of it would be just as stable as it can be.
However, when the market goes bullish again, everyone will get to see how quick the price of it goes up. At the time of bearish, it's where decisions should be made because it's buy now or miss it.
looks like it will be on hold as BNB price has remained fairly stable so far, now at $526.83 not too bad from the last ATH that BNB has done. Of course, if making a release is very unfortunate because of the opportunity as you said that the market could increase soon, it is indeed better to wait for that opportunity by holding it in place so that the time comes when it increases so that it does not miss the opportunity.

It is a bit surprising that BNB also moves along with the market despite having a real business model in place and those quarterly burns. In comparison to many other coins there is actually a real cashflow that is used to conduct those buybacks. But it has been like that forever. Maybe we will see some decoupling of Bitcoin soon, but for now it's repeatedly the same. Bitcoin drops, everything else also drops.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Let's pay attention to BNB? on: December 16, 2021, 07:55:34 AM
I think considering binance as an investment is a very good choice, especially since binance is one of the most bullish altcoins right now, where the price has risen to $435, and BNB has a great opportunity to grow even higher, especially when BTC is in a positive trend at the moment, I believe binance will hit $600 later this year,

Binance saw $600. There is no need to explain line by line for BNB. BNB will be on the rise as long as cryptocurrencies are the money of the future.

For now there is nothing that indicates the opposite might happen, but almost no company is around forever. It reminds me of a sentence by Jeff Bezos who said that even Amazon will soon not be around anymore. For now Binance is in a great position to design the crypto world of the near future and be an integral part of it, but the competition isn't sleeping. CZ will constantly need to expand and innovate his own product portfolio in order to stay at the top and we all know that the space moves fast.
