241  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Do we want to continue to allow various vendor hate in here? on: September 12, 2013, 06:12:27 PM
Don't forget Nasser's nonsensical posts lately. Minirig lines that aren't slowed down, but are delayed? He doesn't even seem to read Jody's blog before he waxes stoopit...it's unreal. BFL reps are like comic book villains that have had too much hemlock.

Safe to say as long as this scam is going on and people are being looted wholesale there will be plenty of anger directed at them.
242  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: September 12, 2013, 06:06:39 PM
Dave, I submitted an order 8 August and requested CC payment. Since banks are being meanies and won't let you guys conduct business, how can I go about paying for that order via BTC? LMK.

Cheers.

Typo. $3499 is for terraminer II @ 1Th January.

How many lawyers does chipzilla have on the payroll?
245  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: September 12, 2013, 04:47:56 PM
Guess I'm getting predictable eh? Smiley Pre-orders with long lead times are horribly risky and they're finally starting to be met with closed wallets. CoinTerra has been fairly responsive to feedback which is a good sign. In response to criticism re:complete lack of specs they've recently posted this:

We have updated our FAQ and product details in the web shop with additional silicon details :-

Global Foundries 28nm HPP
FCBGA Package
1.4GHz clock frequency yielding a minimum of 500 GH/s
0.765V
State-of-the-art Liquid Cooling System

Meanwhile their price scale has fallen from $7.875/Gh to $6.9995/Gh for December to $2.9995/Gh for January which is actually getting close to reasonable. Now if they'd just come up with a decent bulk pricing arrangement. A 1.78% discount for committing to a 5x2Th gamble 3 months out is rather underwhelming. If they take *THIS* post to heart we may just have a winner:

A 1.78% discount for pre-ordering 5 expensive rigs is weak.

Edit: 10% off a January 5 pack with a solid delivery date might be worth considering given the enormous risks involved.

They're stalling...for some reason.

I seem to recall LC suggesting that they'd update their website with some kind of proof of hashing this weekend?

Edit: Perhaps I'm mentally combining posts.

The team is scattered on various countries, thus we have to coordinate to release anything. I'll see if i can get a screenshot of the hashing rate or something, but more pictures will be posted in the next few days, we will deploy the same mechanism ASICMINER uses for signing found blocks and publish them on our website.

While it's virtually certain they aren't an outright scam (they'd be saying very different things), I do think it's likely they aren't really hashing.

Another possibility is that they are hashing, just not with their own chips.

so then why the derogatory 'You serious right now?' comment?

The idea seemed ridiculous enough that it seemed possible you were joking. People buy for any number of reasons and chalking a particular buy up to insider knowledge without any data is silly. Occums razor and all.

We're sorry for delaying but we're struggling with deployment operations and time is money, we have to set priorities according to our goals.
It is in our interest to keep the shares price rising but we're very confident that within a short time, shares will be valued what they are really worth. We will post board picture and more within the weekend, and as soon as we reach 10 TH of deployed hardware block labeling will be mirrored on the site with other stats like speed, etc.

so explain the big buys just before the 'update' while you are at it.

this does not make sense unless someone has insider info

You serious right now? Someone saw account = labcoin login and bought. Speculators...speculate.

so why did they not buy when the account was online yesterday then?

You're asking ME why someone else didn't buy?

I dunno...bathroom break? Needed a sandwich?

255  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's Butterfly Labs Scammer Investigation including Josh Zerlan on: September 12, 2013, 02:23:06 AM
They don't have any real authority is why. It does however mark BF Labs, should anyone research them, and see just how poorly run a company they are.

An "F" rating would have done that better. Sadly bfl avoided the F rating they richly deserved for lying...by telling more lies.

If LC is a scam then the operators need to go for some serious scam tutorials from the masters @ BFL.

Correct, but you said:

Quote
he only offered some advisory information on the 65nm chips.

Which is not accurate. He's involved with the important part of labcoin's venture, and that's a huge plus.
But that says nothing about what is currently happening and whether they legitimately are generating 2TH or more. It says nothing about what the current share price should be. That is something which will become a factor in the coming months. We are trying to ascertain the current situation and judge our investment actions accordingly.

We can only speculate since LC isn't saying. If there's a problem with their 130nm chips then they may try to run the clock out until their 65nm chips show up. It's an information vacuum, but the 130nm chips are a stopgap anyway. The real hashrate will come from the 65nm chips.

If that's the case it seems like a long time to keep shareholders in the dark.

Also a waste of money for the first batch of chips

Yes, LC is not being transparent.

Shareholders didn't fund the first batch remember? They used the funds for the second gen chips. The first batch was already funded(according to LC).

He's the guy you lock in the lab with a pile of chips, a pc board, and a computer and say "MAKE THIS HASH".
