241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Satoshi make any comments about the initial 'imbalance' of Bitcoin wealth? on: March 07, 2015, 01:33:50 PM
I don't think satoshi envisioned people spending so much money/energy on mining coins. In a rational world acquiring coins via mining would cost slightly less than acquiring them via exchanges/trading (due to the effort in getting and running a miner) and the cost of those would keep up with the price of coins, but greedy/stupid people spent too much on miners, and it's going to take a while to sort itself out.

idiots... over 30 pages long over this useless thread girls are nothing more than nagging gold diggers who think they are entitled to something end of story it makes me so angry that men all over the world are being pussified into submission grow a pair and slap her in the face

Don't hit her!
There is never an excuse for a man to hit, or slap, a woman.
Why not? Let she learns who's dominating in the house. Sponsor shouldn't be a henpecked boy.

I don't think Girls are less than guys in any fields, they are now even more advanced and used-to techs than boys, so why won't girls be using Bitcoins? What gives them a reason not to use it?
How do they transfer the crypto? There is always been serious conflict between girl's consumerism and their ability to spend but not earn money. If you give them a financial hand, they will be confused multiple times over because they don't understand the keen sense of how to turn a computer on. No chance.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's year 2050 and Bitcoin is the world currency... on: March 06, 2015, 01:41:49 PM
Having regional currencies on a planet as small as Earth seems pretty archaic/tribal IMO. The currencies in Star Trek--which is only set a couple centuries or so from now--tend toward covering entire planets/species/interplanetary alliances/etc.

In my spare time I've been working out some ideas on space colonization, from a planning methodology I think could be key to enabling a serious effort, to yet-another-crazy-idea for a low-cost launch technology, to a legal framework for space communities (orbital rights of way, responsibility for debris, etc.), government, finance, etc.

One thing I've realized is that while a single cryptocurrency would work between space colonies in a given planetary system, they would not work between communities across the solar system due to the time lag. So while earth-moon system colonies might share bitcoin with earth inhabitants, colonies around Jupiter would need to rely on an altcoin for day-to-day transactions. (They could still tie into bitcoin, but it would be like mailing a check as opposed to near-instant transfers.) Oh, and crypto would be ideal for space colonies. (If they can't maintain their electronics capabilities - see below.)

(Off-topic aside: One thing I've realized that doesn't seem to be generally appreciated is that if launch costs remain high, it inexorably follows that the first generation of space immigrants will be heavily focused on bootstrapping up their manufacturing capablities in space. They will lack specialized manufacturing capabilities apart from essentials, and those will be simply made. Thus, for example, they will be wearing cotton or synthetic "homespun" clothing, have a serious lack of personal computers/electronics that we take for granted (excepting mission-critical technology), household goods will be crudely and simply made from a limited range of raw materials, etc. And don't even get me started about the toilet paper. They will work their butts off trying to improve their difficult situation.

It will be more "Amish in space" than the shiny-clothing hypertech societies that films and SF books depict, until a sizable population with diversified raw material inputs and manufacturing capabilities develops. Or someone figures out how to lift cargo into orbit cheaply.)
The mankind in the fullness of time  will have to adopt a universal currency if we are going to carry out serious commerce in space. It's only a matter of time before people will be asking for intergalactic monies for their two weeks in a space hotel. Check QUID http://www.space.com/4454-scientists-design-space-currency.html

someone is accumulating massive amounts of this coin....i suspect a fix soon.
I suspect there is no fix, unless price reflects something it offers for real.
247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Safer Compared To Other Digital Payment Platforms on: March 06, 2015, 01:18:52 PM
We believe in saving because we know bitcoin has better fundamentals than, to say, lottery ticket. If bitcoin takes over global commerce, remittances and microtransactions, it potentially becomes the most valuable commodity in history, worth on the order of $100T total, which is around $4M per coin, or about 10,000 times more than it's currently worth.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Monster transaction: 39016 BTC!! on: March 06, 2015, 01:05:23 PM
Its attention magnet. Prosecutors and anti-money laundering controls will soon without doubt be tripling their attention at transactions like this. Also fbi would love taking a look at how much of these transactions heading to extra bitcoin wallet seemed to match the profile of real-life offshore holders that are supposedly guilty of tax evasion. Transfer million of usd via single transaction lol thoughtlessly done!
249  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] chainsnort (live transaction monitoring and fingerprinting tool) on: March 06, 2015, 12:31:51 PM
Exchanges don't publish lists of addresses they hold, this would make them easily auditable.
You can verify whether the address belong to exchange or no by dint of big transactions with huge number of inputs. No software required.
250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Sending without transactionn fees on: March 06, 2015, 12:15:57 PM
If you mature some coins long enough and transaction size is below 1k, you can send it for free

Never knew this , so let us suppose if a address like this
https://blockchain.info/address/1CFBdvaiZgZPTZERqnezAtDQJuGHKoHSzg
ever gets active and decides to send the coin , he /she/they can send it without fees and still get it confirmed ?

The address you linked has 50btc in it and has been resting for years. It will qualify for a free transaction. It might not get confirmation within minutes, but I am sure it will eventually. It is up to the miners whether to accept transactions with no fees. Most do.

I'd say miners & pools have a vested interest as many of them consider encouraging people to pay fees by only including transactions with fees. If nobody was paying fees they might not earn enough to get by and this would result soon in them stopping the mining and weakening the whole bitcoin networking.

Why hasn't there been a single exchange since december? Empoex has very flexible policies towards new coins. But if there is no adherence then no interest.
253  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [ILT] Intellect | X11 | 3650% Annually on: March 05, 2015, 05:50:09 PM
I think the extra large annual posing can be a fad of year 2015

is there any way to cut the pow down to 10k or even 12k before pos? i would think that is sufficient enough time.

Alright the code is ready to soft fork at block 6000, POW will stop on that block and the POS difficulty will be reduced from .006

Please update your wallets.  This is very important for pools and Bittrex, so i will e-mail to them now.

Once the 8% daily staking begins it will be fierce at first, as you all have such coin weight.  Please remember to build coin age so we can get the first POS block, then the difficulty will go down when it is found.

We will leave this for 21 days of inflation staking period before forking again to 8% annually.

I will update the main post with new download links soon, but you can download the Windows wallet and source here:

edit post::: Only problem now is premine is massive, maybe much more than 1% soon.

Why do you need to extend its period of devaluation for 21 days?

Now, when its forked with the pow stage to be over in 2 days (approximately 1137 blocks are being mined on daily basis) this doesn't mean that the market wouldn't be overrun by tons of coins, and the price then would give a fall to undue concern because everyone would sell minted coins at inflated prices.

Why wouldn't you hardfork it to appropriate 8% annually rather than again bring discredit to the niche this coin holds? When the staking commences you'd have disproportionate amount of coins with which to distort the market price.

There was a buzz that working block explorer is about to launch. Any progress on this road?
