241  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin: "Maybe Is a Partial Store of Value" on: October 31, 2019, 04:26:57 PM
I'm not arguing that it looks unfit to be a store of value, because it fluctuates a lot more than you'd want it to. It's bound to be more stable as the market grows though, and we're actually seeing improvements on that end in recent months, outside some wild swings here and there.

Most people who refer to Bitcoin as a store of value are in it for the long game, and aren't really fazed by the short fluctuations. It serves a very niche portion of the population at the moment, but it does work for that niche. Things are only going to be better.

Totally agree that at the moment it is not a very good store of value because of the price fluctuations, and also agree that things will improve and the volatility will fade as the market matures.
But I would say it is a store of value right now, otherwise why are people holding it? It is a store of value that currently has some big problems that will be resolved in the longer-term, but it is still a store of value.
It could be a store of value in future but at the moment people who were holding it are in highly risk of losing their asset value any time,if there were here for long time and made lot more profits than how much they invested then it will be okay for them to lose but new investors needs to be very careful that is why long term is more suggested.
242  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Scammed on LocalBitcoins on: October 30, 2019, 06:26:26 PM
I got scammed on LocalBitcoins and started looking for new p2p trading platforms in South Africa and came across Vertex Market (https://vertex.market ) as they posted on BitcoinTalk. Here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5194938.new#new

Has anyone used them before? I have already made a couple of small trades which all worked but nothing over $100 because I’m a little scared putting in large amounts on a platform I just found.

The platform works great but I just want to know if anyone else has used it and if anything, bad has happened? It will probably be my go-to trading platform but need to confirm first.

Possibilities of getting scammed in local bitcoin is very very less unless you accepted a payment which is reversible like paypal. Is this way you got scammed because I don't know what actually the vertex market means.

You can report the user to localbitcoin support staff if he is still using the same account.

It must have been a PayPal transaction. Its the only potential way of me seeing a scam actually taking place.
If anyone doing paypal transactions on localbitcoin then they should see the trade and feedback history of trader,if he got high number of confirmed trades and pro bade then we are completely safe. But also need to remember paypal restricted crypto transactions so its not advisable to use that method anyway.

244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Time in Bangladesh on: October 30, 2019, 03:14:06 PM
Blockchain =/= Bitcoin. Roll Eyes

If they stated they are going to make it legal then they even don't know what is that, there is no need of legality from government to use it. Tongue
Blockchain is the technology where coins like Ethereum and Bitcoin are able to be created, Bitcoin was the first coin based on this blockchain technology that got big, but it's disliked by governments due to it being hard to control since it's decentralized.

But, however, blockchain technology is loved between governments and a lot of them are starting to build blockchain based ecosystems where a lot of their services would be using this new tech.

They are still able to ban Bitcoin, and now allow useage of it, just people are able to circumvent this fairly easily.
AFAIK,there is complete ban on crypto usage in Bangladesh so OP mentioned the topic only related to blockchain technology for that there is no legality needed anyone can create their blockchain and use it for any purpose if they want.
245  Economy / Gambling / Re: MintDice.com – The World's Best Fully Featured Casino. Play or Invest! on: October 30, 2019, 02:14:58 PM
I tried to access the site but it seems a bit slow to load but I have just created an account successfully. Tried the plinko game and it works fine, I like the animation because it is different with other plinko games where I see a  6-sided dice as the ball on your site. But I dont really like the way you put the bet history because I need to stop playing to see the bet history and I cant find the way to check my bets. How to verify my bets?
i agree it was a great website the design was great and it was easy to understand what was in the site personally i like it. Creating an account can be easily done but it was not yet optimize even in desktop mode or if your using it in a smartphone because it was laggy especially when you open it in a smartphone but over all it was great.
It was due to their animation effect I guess, even I did mention the same thing earlier but still they are developing their site and we may get much more better experience in near future. For full bet history we can click the bet history on lower left corner for that we no need to stop but your rollers will be rolling behind that history table. Cheesy
246  Economy / Gambling / Re: MintDice – Bitcoin Casino With Online Slots, Bitcoin Crash & Bitcoin Investment on: October 29, 2019, 06:38:59 PM
What he is talking about is simply sending a transaction and sending another one right after with a much larger fee and to a different address. So they would make a deposit, and if it's 0 confirms they would bet the entire balance very fast and if they won they would do nothing. And if they lost they would double spend that input to their own address. I don't know if it works these days even because most nodes reject those transactions but casinos were attacked this way in the past.

The 0 confirmation is basically a marketing tactic so if a gambler loses all their BTC and they are on the tilt to revenge gamble then chances are they will if the deposit is confirmed fast, if it takes a few hours to confirm they might get bored and stop gambling and stop losing money. If it comes right away they will gamble it instantly and might lose it also.

I don't know why you are all discuss this nonsense. Casino will never accept deposit with 0 confirmation! They are not gamblers. They are earning on gamblers.

Quote
Any cryptocurrency deposit requires:

1️⃣Confirmation before you can play or invest
   2️⃣Confirmations before you can withdraw.

From mintdice FAQ

I think he is talking about the casinos with instant deposit feature, correct me if I am wrong.Double spending tricks can be used by scammers to cheat on these site!

248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the discipline help in gambling? on: October 28, 2019, 10:50:49 PM
If we are being discipline while betting then we may not lose much money so yeah it can be considered as successful in gambling but it can be depends on lot of factor especially when someone looking to play to hit jackpot then they will feel success only when they hit it,when someone want to get the pleasure of adrenaline they will be successful as long as they can able to bet without losing much.
On that point if adrenaline comes for sure we cannot control our bettings, that’s why it’s better to just play without intentions of winning at all,why not play like you are in cinema watching movie?you are paying but winning nothing?
So in case that you won then it will be considered as extra bonus?you enjoyed and win?

I don’t know why gamblers treat this as profession when there are many jobs that is appropriate for us and gambling is only a hobby to bing us happiness
If we want the adrenaline then make sure we can afford it by gambling, its just one form of getting but different people get adrenaline feel on different things so if we aks someone who want to be gamble to watch movies for the same thing is okay? No right.

May not be everyone treating it as profession but generally people gamble expecting to win bets.
249  Economy / Gambling / Re: MintDice – Bitcoin Casino With Online Slots, Bitcoin Crash & Bitcoin Investment on: October 25, 2019, 07:42:51 PM
Update, the withdrawal went though and has now been sent to pending.
I did a 500x hit on the slots.
I guess mintdice is processing all the transactions manually,so worth to wait for that 500x reward.Picking up the high priority fee will make things much faster!
wow really nice win simpa. teach me?
Its just pure luck. Kiss
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Tradesatoshi exchange no trading fees until 2020 on: October 25, 2019, 04:05:07 PM
Looks like an advertisement to me (and from brand new accounts?). Let's say you are not affiliated with them, I'm letting you know that Tradesatoshi just recently abandoned their bitcointalk account and thread here due to several user complaints.

I don't think removing trading fees would be of any help to gain users' trust again. Why? Because they are blocking accounts for no reason. I experienced it myself, account being blocked after sending a support ticket, how unprofessional it is. Too bad for those users who have funds in their account and have been blocked.

Scam accusations (reference):
Tradesatoshi - BEWARE! Blocking without reasons.
TradeSatoshi locking out users to steal funds?
Tradesatoshi.com SCAM
I am not sure tradesatoshi is a complete scam exchange but its like more worse form of yobit and more over I even see trading volume for many coins on that exchange from $1 to $100 so anyone thinks that is really worth to trade on that exchange?

We may need months to trade our coins if even it is decent amount.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty talkies on: October 24, 2019, 09:20:18 PM
Since i have been hunting for bounties in 2018 sadly i haven't been able to make a penny from any project and till date the only bounty project that almost favour me was miracle tele, i choose a bad decision by decided to hodl, hunters who sold very quickly are the lucky ones are,the reason why i made this post is to ask if there is bounties since 2018 that did very well excluding Gowithmi project

I heard Vidycoin did well and i remember they did bounty last year 2018,is there anyone one here who participated?
Same as mb8coin,anybody?

Unfortunately, the word HODL will not apply to new coins and bounty hunting anymore, you have to be fast to dump your share if you listen to these people who told you to hodl your coins you will end up the last to sell your coin, even if they tell you that bounty hunters are the first to sell their share, you've worked for it, you will just find out later if you made the right decision or not.
I would say avoid joining on the projects if you have no hope on its future, when we are promoting means we became a part of it literally so better join the projects with potential to sustain on the market and enjoy the benefits of holding it,but only question is,
Is there any project like this?
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Asia can be the biggest crypto market on: October 24, 2019, 08:39:12 PM
maybe more crypto investors from continental Europe and America. but actually Asia is the biggest market for crypto because it has the most populous countries like China, India and Indonesia. and more importantly, Asia also has fairly stable internet access at the moment, unlike Africa which is still having trouble getting to the internet. many business models that can be applied there, especially in the financial sector such as payment instruments. but why the reality isn't what I imagined. at present crypto is only a notion and there is no real use that can really be applied to crypto except investment.

many think it's all because of the Regulation, but I don't think so. Regulations can be changed and there are currently no regulations that actually prohibit crypto. so this is not the main reason.

then what do you think?
Those countries you mentioned were not crypto friendly,in China ban on ICO related things,in India banks restricted no legality on Indonesia yet so there are people but not much to influence the government to accept it as legal form of payment.Regulations can't change things for crypto users but for traders it greatly affects so we need to use cryptos more than trading it.
253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you know if a gambling site is scam or not? on: October 24, 2019, 06:37:51 PM
Honestly, I've never found or played on a scam gambling site. I always play on gambling sites that do not have a problem even I don't only play one site, but very much. So I can't say how gambling sites are scams.
How do you know that you picked the legit site if you never played on it?

We have to research and enter into the right site due to clone and scam sites.

If you want to know how much scam sites then visit scam accusation section.

As long as you can choose the gambling site from the other member's recommendation, you will not get a scam, and you can get a legit gambling site. Visiting the scam accusation section will be better to know if one gambling site is a scam or not. We have many legit gambling sites, and it still operates until now, many members playing on that website too, so we don't have to afraid to get a scam.
I replied to that person who thinks it is legit even if he never played on it.Own research also needed aprt from other's recommendation to know whether that site will suit for our playing conditions and withdrawal limits and personal privacy.Because even many reputed sites faced issues, lagging while withdrawals requested and much more.
254  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance is earning only $20,00 per day on transaction fees charge?? on: October 23, 2019, 08:31:10 PM
Big or small is relative. Transaction fees determined by an exchange must have been adjusted to operational needs and various factors that affect the convenience of the user. The managerial team would understand more, if they make the wrong calculation the company could get a deficit, whereas that doesn't happen right?

Exchanges needs funds to operate so if they only collect the fee for miners then how they will be able to provide better service so giving them a small amount is worthy and they have least withdrawal fee compared to other, for example in yobit 0.0012BTC as withdrawal fee irrespective of how small or big we are withdrawing.

The scam accusation section is indeed the best to learn if a site is acting in unethical ways, but if you want to risk and try a new site which has no feedback yet, then check their FAQ, try some small deposits and withdraws to see if they act according to what's written in their FAQ, and also send them an email if you have even a minor issue to see how fast and accurately they respond.
They're only speaking Chinese or Russian? That's a warning flag.
IMO,avoiding that site is better than taking time out to test them unless they got an unique and extremely interesting game to bet on. Smiley

Even in the most reputed sites the response will be slower so we can't decide anything based on it but if they asking you to deposit more and withdraw the funds later then its a sign.

257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Worthy to invest in Grin on: October 23, 2019, 09:34:18 AM
Grin doesn't perform well this year and the price almost went deep down from where it was from the beginning of this year.SO it was just hyped more when Bitcointalk accepted it as form of payment. But it does have decent trading volume so there is hope of recovery in the next bitcoin bull run so this could be chance to get some cheaper.
258  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance is earning only $20,00 per day on transaction fees charge?? on: October 22, 2019, 08:08:37 PM
But don't forget BNB which got the total marketcap value of nearly 3 billion which is itself their profits right? They created this token from nowhere and made this into a huge profit so the transactions fees were just extra bonus.

Market cap of a cryptocurrency cannot be considered as a revenue for the project team itself since it's taking up the overall supply of the token multiplied to its current price. If I remembered it correctly 40% of the total supply of BNB was allocated to the team of Binance and not Binance as a company, meaning the employees are the ones sharing the profit and not the company itself which means its not a revenue for Binance. Additionally I know that they are burning the coins allocated to the team which I think they have done several times already and they will keep doing that until their own supply is all burned, this completely eliminates any rumors that they kept almost half of it just for profit.
But likely they made huge profits from the BNB token since the last year since it is one of the best doing crypto in terms of price so just added this to OP's statement of they are only making 7.2 million per year, they made lot more than what we think actually.

Most of the tokens went into vein due to their no development from the support team and most others went scam the remaining trapped.into bearish trend only few coins were capable of making overcame market and stand still for long time until now. What we need to do is let the shit coins fade and then support the remaining coins.
