Almost every piece of software now for mining supports Stratum. It will use your CPU automatically if you don't have a GPU available.
I suggest cgminer or bfgminer. They're precompiled for Windows.
However Slush's pool is having problems right now, they just got DDoS'ed. So their network is having issues. But if you use Slush, stay of Getwork, they're charging 10% fees to the people who use it.
Wait, so all this time that I have been trying to figure out how to get Stratum to work with CPUminer you mean to tell me that it doesnt actually work with it? But also, there is an easy fix and I can use cgminer or any other new miner that has Stratum and it will just default to my CPU if I do not have a GPU? Im on Mint (laptop) and Ubuntu (desktop). What command line miner is the best that already has stratum?

How about "Who give a fuck about CoinChat"?
The site sucks
The people in the chat are arrogant, rude, closed-minded n00bs
Nothing good comes from CoinChat

Heres my idea: There are in fact scientific programs that give you a chance to make money regardless of the process they use your CPU availability for. But, and this is key, they always have an explanation of what it is they are using your CPU for or how you need to use it to help them. Even when they pool CPU usage like in Prime 95. Now, its trademark "Torture Test" is used by overclockers to benchmark their system performance. But, it is actually used for Mathemiticians to find new prime numbers. You can participate too, and they will pay you. And, its clearly stated on the site.
Coin Generation explains nothing. They tell you as little as possible. Huge red flags. Now, even if they put an "Info" page up or FAQ I would be suspicious. Honest people wouldve made that their priority. Notice that even before sites launch their services they have an explanation up first. Think about Ripple (XRP), which people say (and I agree) is a scam. They still had a website with full explanation up for months before launch

Thats is twice as much as what they are going for today. Any reason why youre asking such a high price fora coin that hasnt really performed and has been virtually stagnant?
Im curious because this is the one coin I will not buy unless I get it at half or less market value. (Which is pretty common when people are dumping them in the hundred of thousands QTY)
Thanks

Visit my mining pool for Xencoins at http://75.134.182.16:85/Just lowered the fee to 1.5% for all members and new sign ups. Thanks for hashing with me! This pool payout is quite fast, set to 23 confirms so you should see a balance in about 30 mins if you have decent hashing speed. All of the CryptoCoin pools say Getwork or Stratum depending on the port as if the text was jsut copied from every other pool. In the instructions it only has ports for Stratum listed. Are there Getwork (LP) ports hidden somewhere? If I could ever get Stratum to work properly I would just use that. Used to be able to get Stratum to work on windows machine with a GUI miner. But not on any of my command line miners on linux

What is the advantage of Stratum mining?
Ive herad you can get more done for less. My only problem is that the majority of the pools I want to use require Stratum, and after months I still cant get it to work at all. Fuck, I cant even get scrypt Jane to work either

Hey guys,
I have coins that I mined on some of the binarycoins.eu pools. But they have been down for a few days now. Anyone have any idea what is going on?
I have Bitbar + Bitgem in my accounts there (I was just going there to cashout the other day when none of the sites would load)

Just when I thought I heard it all.
& saying
Has bitcoin done anything for your or your neighbor lately?
Shows just how little the person who is trying to create and sell the concept actually understands about economics.
I will simplify it;
Bitcoin has grown in value. I have been able to buy more with Bitcoin than I would have with cash or credit. That leaves me with more $$ in my pocket.
If I spend more money locally, it keeps my "neighbors'" business open, the owner and his employees (and their families fed)
If I do what I usually do with extra $$, which is donate to charities, then I have much more $$ to do so. As a matter of fact, since Bitcoin went from $5 a piece, to over $200, and as of this post $79, I have been able to increase all of my charitable donations considerably.
That is what Bitcoin has done for me and my neighbors.
That is what Bitcoin continues to do for me and my neighbors
And you (OP) are a typical Catholic; Once your idea is tested the slightest bit, you immediately try to denounce something you dont understand in place of adding merit to your own belief or system.
"CatholicCoin" is a dumb idea. It is even stupider when its pushed by someone who doe not understand basic economics.
Stop now before you end up running into people much smarter than me and really embarrass yourself
Youre welcome

How long does the faucet take to pay out? I am asking because I am not sure if it is working. I made a request a few days ago, one yesterday, and now one today. But to date, the YAC Coins I received came from the one you sent me because of my post in this thread. Just and FYI -Doug

Thank you but I still dont understand. I am running Ubuntu on one computer and Mint (Cinnamon), which is basically Ubuntu, on another computer. So, do I install this? And is that a separate miner? $ wget http://muuttuja.org/yacoin/yacminer/3.3.1-yac2/yacminer-3.3.1-yac2.tar.xz$ tar xJvf yacminer-3.3.1-yac2.tar.xz $ cd yacminer-3.3.1-yac2 $ CFLAGS="-march=native -O2 -pipe" ./configure --enable-scrypt $ make OR I had no problem getting this up and running on my friends computer who is gpu mining and using cgminer. YAC is very friendly with the cgminer scrypt and that just requires playing around with the settings a little to get it optimal. But as far as cpu mining with Poolers cpuminer, I cant get it to run on either machine. Maybe Im jsut a lost cause with this one. I have wasted too much time with it already. Realistically, I will just wait until someone that is running only cpuminer, posts a thread titled "Dummies Guide to setting up and Running CpuMiner for YAC Coin" and just goes step by step, with every command they typed laid out, etc

Fingers crossed, would love to reply here with a confirmation! Y41Yy8MdrwpNrRoLfw81vmTdPbYgdkXzU4 ^disregard the address. Forgot it was a faucet link. But I am going to leave it in just in case the faucet doesnt pay. I can come back here and beg BTCDMStewart Enjoy it! Got it! Thanks. Ive been having so much trouble trying to figure out how to install scrypt-jane into my cpuminer. If I could find a simple post on how to install it into Poolers cpuminer I would be mining YAC over at Dig's pool; where I mine BBQ, Xen, BitBar, DGC, WDC, FTC, etc

Finally, another altcoin. I was really getting sick of waiting...almost at my wits end.
This is such a relief. The world needs a new altcoin every 6-7 seconds, otherwise we may never find one that works; With the exception of Bitcoin of course. And LiteCoin. And Liberty Reserve (which sucks but still technically "works". And the 47 altcoins launched before breakfast this morning...Jesus Fuggen KRYST!
I am going to create an ETF that is strictly based on electricity use. Purchases shares of kilowatts from electric companies, then sell it to resellers. Then, use a small percent to pay jerks to keep creating and launching altcoins so people burn up a lot of energy.

It's very simple, just run: minerd_scrypt_jane_x86_x64\x64\minerd_scrypt_jane_x64_ssse3.exe -a scrypt-jane -o http://pool.bitcn.org:8336 -u YourYACOINaddress I jsut want to install scrypt_jane successfully. I cant seem to find the info on how to properly do that

When I configure CFLAGS="-03" is says that "C cannot compile executables"
It's "-O3", not "-03". See the difference? (It's big O, not zero.) One other question for Pooler...Will changing my scantime affect performance on older, slower computers?
