241  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 4 x hd5970 and 1 x hd5850 work with linuxcoin and questions about psu on: April 23, 2012, 01:02:23 AM
You should be fine with the 990 if you have extenders, without them the cards won't fit. They will all fit w/o extenders on the 890 but will be sandwiched. Despite what some may say, if you have this in a skeleton frame with fans blowing in from the back of the cards and the fans at 70%-75% they will be fine, mess around and monitor until they run stable under 70°. Running the fans that high will put a lot of stress on them though, so be prepared to replace fans when they start to whine.

AFAIK and from my experience eight GPUs will only work with 64bit OS's, so make sure you use one instead of pulling your hair out like I have.

When running 4 very power hungry cards, make sure the +12v rail(s) can handle it. You should be able to find documentation on the max power draw of the PSU you will be using that should tell you exactly how much power is coming from the +12v rail. Yes, 1200w will handle all four, but not if the 12v rails get equal to or less than 1100w of that power.
(this holds true to all mining rigs)

If you want to go further than the 8 GPU limit, keep up on what rjk is doing. He's working hard to break that limit.

True, but their invalid rates are typically higher. Either way you may turn a profit here. ABC is ~0.2% invalid so you may net a 2.06 btc profit.

PPS is ~31 btc but invalids/stales will take you down to about break even I think

Has anyone yet been able to get 8 gpus going in BAMT?

First- Respect is earned, no given. Neither one of you have earned either's respect IMO. Stop demanding that someone respect you.

Second- It is up to your investors to decide on the contract now. You opened your asset to be publicly traded, owned by you and your asset holders. If you didn't want that you should have kept it off the GLBSE.

Third- Both of you, quit the bickering and deal with this spat like a couple of adults. Please do it in private as well, these threads are getting ridiculous.

I don't think I'll be able to use the whole $25 before the go bankrupt
247  Economy / Marketplace / Re: BTC For Your Opinion on: April 17, 2012, 11:47:57 PM
A serious and more professional revamp to styling and layout would be a great idea. You should follow more or less the same general layout of all e-commerce websites. It's clean, simple and recognized. When people spend money they like to feel secure and visuals are a huge part of this when it comes to e-commerce since there really isn't much interaction between you and your customer.

If you are trying to bring people in from outside the community, Google Analytics is your friend.

Don't think lethal is the correct term. Unless maybe you pointed it at someones head for a long period of time, but I think that person would move
249  Economy / Goods / Re: Unused BFL Single, Revision 3, 200BTC delivered in USA on: April 15, 2012, 10:35:39 PM
we just need the OP to provide a pic of the item with a paper stating today's date and his USERNAME + providing escrow with either inaba, gigavps, Death&Taxes or any of the big wigs that have been around here a very long time. Then it won't matter who he is I would think :p. Since he only gets paid if and when the item arrives. Make sure you ship either with tracking or delivery confirmation.

The more trustworthy 3rd party involvement with security you get the less chances you get of being ripped off.

Wasn't a question of being ripped off here...

And he has been very open and honest about all things surrounding this venture and his new one also

Like uploading that video of himself :/      tossing rocks in a glass house :/   hypocrisy but whatever, honestly i do not really care.

No, like explaining and making public exactly what he uses funds in his public offerings for. Explaining exactly why he doesn't want to submit certain information and not making drama out of it. Not complaining publicly and whining to others when something doesn't work out exactly as planned hoping that enough people will jump on your side that you can bully your way. Stating clearly his intentions and being forward about business.
256  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox double charge of fee. on: April 15, 2012, 04:14:22 PM
yes, but what is a trade?

is it the whole trade, or the two sides of the trade, that gets the fee.

mtgox is rather unclear about this, but its common knowledge on this forum that its both sides.

Well, aren't you trading USD for BTC on one end and then trading BTC for USD on the other end?
257  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB][UK] - 2 5970s ~1200w PSU on: April 15, 2012, 04:08:17 PM
I dont have any parts to offer you but, just an FYI.

Unless you are running more than the 2 5970s on the one board, 750w of power is enough to get the job done. Of coarse that is dependant on how the +12v rail(s) are configured, but O.C.ed to 800-820/150-300 and a highpowered CPU you'll be around 600w TPD at the wall.
258  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox double charge of fee. on: April 15, 2012, 03:46:47 PM
Mt Gox charges a small fee (0.x%) for each trade.
259  Economy / Goods / Re: Unused BFL Single, Revision 3, 200BTC delivered in USA on: April 15, 2012, 03:43:26 PM
BTW, are you Shakaru?

An excellent question, indeed. I would consider buying this, but I need cryptographic proof that he is not shakaru first.

LOL! If Shakaru owns a BFL single, we're going to have to have a nice little chat
