Simply awesome to read. Wish there were these values for the % too.

It only takes a minute or two to make that kind of post because I watched all that stuff happening. Old time members have been bailing out here for 5 or more years because of all sorts of reasons. Glad you enjoyed it. LOL

It’s not just one thing that caused the old timers to leave.

I would like to see a percentage study of why people left here. That would tell us the main reason and perhaps that one thing could be changed. Unfortunately, there is no one left around that does that sort of study anymore.

243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: June 24, 2018, 04:05:23 PM
Here we go - https://metro.co.uk/2018/06/15/nsa-helped-invent-bitcoin-founder-worlds-second-largest-cryptocurrency-ethereum-claims-7631719/

Vitalik Buterin gets it - I contending that the NSA worked in concert with James Simons in creating Bitcoin via the Team, Satoshi Nakamoto.

Meanwhile, there's a movie coming out currently titled Crypto --> https://www.coindesk.com/kurt-russell-going-cryptocurrency-movie/

My movie idea would be call Satoshi.

Interesting, I thought Kurt Russell was dead. Does he actually know anything about bitcoin? I guess it doesn’t matter. I’m sure Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory) knows absolutely nothing about physics.

She can’t allow or disallow it because god is a figment of your imagination. She can’t destroy me because she only lives in the mind of you, David Koresh, and millions of other nutters.

She has turned someone into rock salt, caused a flood that killed almost everyone, killed children, killed women, created plagues that terrorized her creations and generally shown contempt for something she created.

I never understood why a god would need to have a gender.  I assume it was written that way because men were dominate at the time.

If a god were to have a gender, it would probably have to be male, considering all the violence and controlling it does...

Yeah, I don’t understand the gender thing or how freaked out these religious perverts get when you don’t capitalize the first letter in god.

I disagree about god being male. I think god would have to be a female perpetually on her period. Think about it critically for a moment. Think about any woman you’ve ever been in a relationship with and tell me if you can imagine her saying this at some point of the month:

“I love you so much that I think I’ll torture you for a while. Also, if you don’t give me the correct answer to every question I ask and do everything I tell you to do perfectly without complaint I’m going to kill you with fire.”

Now, read the above again and think of the christian god while reading it. The christian god is a woman on her period.

So, are you going to answer this question nutcracker or will you just ignore it like all of the other questions you have no good answer to.

Why is your god such a cruel asshole? And if he hates us so much, why create us in the first place? Did he just want a species to torture for sport?

The evidence of your own words shows that you are too ignorant to understand:
1. God's love, or;
2. The explanations that have been posted throughout this thread already.

So, it would be a complete waste of time to answer again.

Cool

You are a complete nutter.

“Gods love” is the reason god is such a cruel asshole?

“Gods love” is the reason he hates us so he created us just to have something to hate?

“Gods love” is the reason he just wanted to create a species to torture for sport?

There are no explanations in this thread showing why god needs to be a cruel asshole. You just have no reasonable answer for it.

God isn't a cruel asshole. God is love. After all, you can't even take it when I contradict you a little. But God loves you so much that He lets you contradict Him all over the place, with the out-of-love hopes that you will be saved rather than destroy yourself. And He certainly doesn't destroy as you so deserve, since He is able to easily do that.

Stop being so dense. Wake up and change before it is too late for you.

Cool

247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The end of net neutrality means the end of bitcoin in the USA? on: June 22, 2018, 07:27:21 PM
...and then nothing happened. No legislation can kill bitcoin. Not even the combined might of the most populous countries on earth can stop cryptocurrency can stop bitcoin. Eventually, these people will embrace bitcoin.  Smiley

There’s still a possibility of repeal and the opposing legal action isn’t over yet. I wouldn’t expect them to do very much “rocking the boat” at this point.

If we are designed by him and in his image why did he have to kill all of us in a flood? Oh yeah, he’s a deranged psychopath that kills his children if they misbehave.

You got that all wrong butterbean, the machine nature of the universe is the proof that goof god doesn’t exist.

The religious writings all over the world, in every language and with all different gods show the god is a random almost chaotic psychopath. He gets angry at the drop of a hat like a bipolar loon and decides to kill everyone on the planet with a flood. Time and time again his chaotic loony behavior manifests itself as a random mean-cruel master.

If we are designed by him and in his image why did he have to kill all of us? Oh yeah, he’s a deranged psychopath that kills his children if they misbehave.

You have it all wrong! Like as intelligent designers design and build the machines that people make, even so the maker of machine universe is far beyond the intelligence of man, like the machine universe is far beyond the machines of man.

Sounds like either:
1. you haven't studied the religious writings all over the earth;
2. you are misrepresenting them.

If you had been sincere, and had done the studies, you would find that the God of the Bible has made a miracle in the Bible and the nation of Israel.

You misunderstand the nature of the universe. Originally, the universe operated like a big perpetual motion machine. Mankind sinned, which broke up the perpetual motion activity of the universe. If God, Himself, in the form of Jesus, had not upheld the universe at great cost to Himself, it all would have been destroyed way back in the Beginning times, and mankind right along with it. That doesn't sound like a deranged psychopath to me.

You simply misunderstand. The problem is, you like yourself that way.

Cool

If we are designed by him and in his image why did he have to kill all of us in a flood? Oh yeah, he’s a deranged psychopath that kills his children if they misbehave.

yep, China is the country who hold the majority of bitcoin available world wide! this firs big farms were born in China and USA!
so I'm not surprised to know that Chinese can control the price of Bitcoin!
China maybe is also going to rule the world in only a decade...

You may be right. The Chinese yuan is soon going to become the worlds next reserve currency. China FTW!

254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What factors scare others from investing into bitcoin? on: June 19, 2018, 02:54:23 PM
You answered your own question in the subject line.

Because bitcoin is currently an INVESTMENT. It is not currently MONEY. The average guy that normally buys things with money cannot use bitcoin because it’s more difficult to get than his local fiat. If his employer paid him in bitcoin then bitcoin would be used to pay for the things he needs.

Not everyone owns gold or silver, invests in the stock market, buys bonds or invests at all. If fact, fewer people than ever before even have a savings account. Retirement accounts are becoming a thing of the past. Most of them are living paycheck to paycheck. If they have no money to risk on a volatile investment they will not buy bitcoin. Instead will opt to buy food and housing with their money.
255  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do bitcoins come from and what gives them their value? on: June 18, 2018, 03:10:47 PM
People create bitcoin by running something on their computers. They get paid for doing this so a great number of them are all doing it at the same time which makes the bitcoin network enormous.

Bitcoin gets its value from several mechanisms, intrinsic and user created.

The most valuable intrinsic characteristic of bitcoin is its scarcity. Because bitcoin is in short supply and no more will ever be created it’s value is inflationary (its value will always increase because no more can be created).

Bitcoin also gains worth by being an accepted means of exchange. This user created property increases its value over time. The more people agree that bitcoin has value then the more value it has.

Because bitcoin is always inflationary and people agree it is valuable it can be a “store of value” which also gives it worth. Most recognized means of storing value like gold can lose value over time. Bitcoin will always increase in value over large expanses of time (one year its worth $100, five years later $1000, another five years $5000, etc. always increasing over time makes it a good retirement vehicle)

Speculative interest makes bitcoin massively valuable to those fearless investors willing to risk money for short term profit. This is currently fueling the huge interest in bitcoin but speculative interest will decline as adoption increases.
256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Simple Bitcoin Question on: June 17, 2018, 08:58:58 PM
The whole market follows and depends on Bitcoin, thus Bitcoin can't pump unless something new happens. The word on the street is Bitcoin is a dead project. Will BTC death free all the markets or will BTC take down everything with it. Do people really believe that Bitcoin has a  demand from institutions with all the manipulation and no adoption going on? How do we get all the norms to demand the supply and get a bull run going again?

Bitcoin is not dead because too many people are holding massive amounts of fiat value in btc. For it to be truly dead millions of people would need to divest themselves completely and the exchange rate would need to go to zero.

Bitcoin is pegged to the US Dollar. Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency fighting for market share as a useable true currency. Pumping bitcoin is called adoption and that takes time. Altcoins are piece of shit scammer tools designed to make scumbags quick money. Shitcoin pumpers peg the value of their dog turds to bitcoin. If they didn’t their scamvention wouldn’t have any value at all.
257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm leaving Bitcoin on: June 17, 2018, 08:44:20 PM
Wow, a blast from the past. It’s hard to believe it’s been six years already.

This thread reads like a who’s who of who’s gone. As far as I’m concerned, paraipan is the only one that has the right to simply abandon this forum and bitcoin completely (because he’s dead).

258  Other / Off-topic / Re: Merit System Upgrade on: June 14, 2018, 03:56:28 PM
Quite glad to see this topic is still on-going. In all modesty, looking back to my first posts in this thread back in February, I think I've 'grown' quite a bit as a BTCTalk user. Not only by actively reporting spammers and scammers, but also by really trying to participate and invest a bit of my personal knowledge and experience in the forum for Newbies, as well as for the usual suspects on this forum. It's become an agreeable habit to visit this forum daily when I get home from work. I've also become a lot better at filtering out spam posts automatically... Tongue

I humbly present some options QA, thanking you again in advance for your support (if any). Without even talking about Merit, I honestly think my proposition for a community-driven Code of Conduct for exchanges, ICOs and other crypto projects deserves A LOT more attention, but I'll leave that opinion up to you and the other members. Uptil today TOO MANY PEOPLE get ripped off by ICO scammers and scammy exchanges. They make rules for you to follow, but no rules for themselves. But maybe I am just fighting against windmills or maybe the idea that - as a community - we can create regulations and codes without having to cry to get help from governments and law-makers, is just a naive dream... I am in good company though, cuz I am sure I am sharing this dream with Satoshi.

Deep analysis from terms & conditions & privacy policy from several popular crypto exchanges:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4466328
I've divided every exchange analysis in 5 topics: Terms&Conditions, Privacy Policy, Add Coin/Ico Policy, Coin Removal Policy and Fee Transparency. I think some of these results are really unacceptable and as a consequence I've immediately taken my coins away from some of these exchanges and closed my accounts (if possible...).

Let's work together as a community to create a Crypto Code of Conduct / Crypto Constitution:

Short and easy checklist for newbies: how to DYOR and how to recognize scams:

And to finish lightly, a little bit of scam sarcasm:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3482608.msg38620337#msg38620337
(just kidding Wink )

Sadly, some of these threads disappear too fast in the huge stream of Merit and shill threads. Or maybe no-one cares, but me. That's also a possibility. Smiley

You’re still mainly an altcoin supporter and don’t really qualify according to the rules of this thread. I do however see a massive change in you since we last spoke and a genuine desire to help the forum. Keep working along those lines and you should have no problem ranking up. I easily found 20 posts that could have received at least 1 merit if the right person read them. 20 merit awarded.

I follow this person's site and announcements ; I joined many airdrops thanks to this site and easy to use for new entrants to the cryptocurrency community...

I think this person deserves the Merit and I sent it myself. I think he deserve more merit...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2888019.msg39683456#msg39683456

That site was created by BobSurplus. He’s a notorious pump-n-dump scheme operator. ICO operators should be killed with fire for polluting the cryptosphere. They’re worse than people that dump motor oil in our drinking water supply.

dude what ?? I am the creator of that website and I am not BobSurplus. Also I am not neither a pump-dump operator nor an ICO operator. What's it all about ?

Go look through your own post history. You and people like you are polluting this forum.

All of those shitcoins you support are pump-n-dumps. You are supporting them.

Scam initial coin offerings are as common as dirt. They squish up between your toes like dog shit at a public park. The last thing, and I mean the very fucking last thing, the earth needs is another site telling rubes where to throw their money away on ICOs.

You may not be the actual first BobSurplus, but you’re BobSurplus. Everyone pitching shitcoins and ICOs is BobSurplus.

BOMBSHELL: “Consensus” theory of evolution of the species falls apart; new mitochondrial DNA study reveals NO animal species more than 200,000 years old

A surprising new study is casting serious doubt on the popular theory that modern animals are the result of millions of years of evolution. After looking at the mitochondrial DNA of thousands of animal species, including humans, researchers reached the stunning conclusion that nearly every species dates back just 100,000 to 200,000 years.

The study was carried out by the University of Basel’s David S. Thaler and The Rockefeller University’s Mark Young Stoeckle. According to the conventional narrative of evolution involving adaption based on genetic mutations and survival of the fittest, one would expect older species and those with big populations spread across the planet to have greater genetic variation. However, the researchers actually found that 90 percent of the animal species have mitochondrial DNA variation that is similarly low.

Wait, are you trying to disprove the existence of your god Yahweh? You think the bible and the world are like 6000 years old, the article says ''researchers reached the stunning conclusion that nearly every species dates back just 100,000 to 200,000 years.'' So thanks for disproving Yahweh.

LOL You’re right, BADecker just disproved the Bible.
