241  Other / Meta / Re: Copy Pasting Posts from websites is it ok? on: April 23, 2018, 05:36:35 AM
I do think those users should be warned and/or punished.

Remember that spamming is posting without substance and if they're not willing to at least add to a discussion then the thread is pointless. It's like if you were to post a lot of threads in Economics about the bitcoin price, every hour. Useless.
Besides that, I think the forum should require a specific format when citing an external source(or the forum rules should require users to specify the text he/she copy pasted in the cited link by highlighting the copy pasted text in bold) and should require one to have further discussion besides the copy pasted content in an article in order to prevent others to spam copy pasted post from cited articles.
242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Altcoin and token: Classification of crypto on: April 22, 2018, 12:57:44 PM
I know the main difference between altcoins and tokens lies in their structure; While altcoin is a separate currency within its own blockchain, the token operates on top of a blockchain, which facilitates the creation of DApps. So altcoin and token is better? Are any tokens want to develop need to become altcoin?
Nothing is better between the two since there are times when altcins are better than tokens and vice versa. Basically, every token is also and altcoin IMO since I definitely altcoin in my mind as any crypto currency that is not Bitcoin(alternate Bitcoin) which in sense is what token and any other coins existing in the market is. For this reason there is no need for a token to become and develop to be an altcoin since it is already one.
243  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Negative Trust and Positive Trust on: April 22, 2018, 12:08:13 PM
If we get a Negative Trust, how to eliminate it?  Is it possible to remove Negative Trust by getting a Positive Trust?
There are two ways for negative trust to be removed. First is that the default trust user or a trusted user who gave one negative feedback(negative trust) must remove their negative feedback. Another way is to gain positive trust to counter the red trust, but the negative feedback will still be there unless removed.
Should you ask the person giving the Negative Trust to remove it?
You may do so if you think the feedback is unreasonable. It will be up to him/her though to remove it or not.
Where can I get information about Trust?
You can get more information about it in meta.
244  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Bet Agains Bitcoin Without Risk? on: April 22, 2018, 10:58:17 AM
How to Bet Agains Bitcoin Without Risk?

I thought about shorting bitcoin in bitfinex but i think there's risk of a margin call... (even if I don't use leverage the exchange could close my position right?)

basically I want to bet against bitcoin without risk for the next 5 years

is this possible? how?
There's no such thing as risk free investment and bet but you can lessen it by investing into altcoins with real potential to grow in the next coming years, specially in altcoins that are currently on the top 100 in coinmarketcap. Although it is still risky, at least the risk is less. Diversify your investments also to lessen risk more. That way you can bet against btc with lesser risk.
245  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin adress signature on: April 22, 2018, 10:15:57 AM
Can anyone link me a well-explained tutorial on how can I sign my BTC address without a BTC wallet, I mean, an online wallet.
You cannot sign using your BTC address if the online wallet you use doesn't give you the private key of your own bitcoin address(coins.ph for example doesn't give you access to your private key). If you do have access to the private key of your BTC address, use brainwallet.github.io section tutorial on the thread that was given by o_e_l_e_o it has the complete tutorial on how to sign a message.
246  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reputable exchange to buy from that i can use ledger nano with on: April 20, 2018, 11:13:16 PM
Hi. I'm just getting into accumulating (may involve trading but for now just buying). I have a ledger nano S and want to start out with bitc and eth. Which exchange is the most reputable that:

a. won't cause my bank to close my account
b. won't take days to complete the transaction

Since you said you are based in United States, and you would like to start out with btc and eth, you might like to use coinbase exchange to buy both but I am not sure if it will cause your bank to close your account or not, since some banks have policies about crypto or they doesn't allow buying it. It won't take days to complete the transaction though, typically transactions there are instant.
247  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are your short to medium term price predtions of bitcoin? on: April 20, 2018, 12:56:47 PM
It looks like the bearish trend is slightly fading away. Alts are going up, but BTC has been going sideways for some weeks now. With Consensus coming up in May, what are your thoughts about BTC for short - medium term?

Also after the consensus will Bitcoin get increased media attention or will it go down after that?
My thoughts about BTC's price movements in short term is that it will rise slowly due to the upcoming consensus and the rest of the movements of btc after that will depend on public sentiment and the result of the concensus. In medium term, I predict price would go up and down for a few months, and we will see crazy rides until the end of the year.
248  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Liquidating crypto to fiat - suggestions ? on: April 20, 2018, 11:39:50 AM
What's the best way to liquidate your crypto to fiat? Every option i'm looking at you either have to wait for weeks or its expensive. Am I missing something?
What country so you residency in first? For now since I don't know where you live,  I would like to suggest localbitcoins to you(assuming you are living into one of the countries listed here). Another best way to do it is to register on exchanges that are based in your country or on web wallets that offers btc to fiat currency of your country and vice versa(assuming the country you live in got one).
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon fills patent to track Bitcoin users on: April 19, 2018, 09:56:53 PM
Amazon wants to get his nose into the coins of the users, so you can already see how things will work if Amazon ever accepts Bitcoin, they will attempt to track everything and sell your information, just like Facebook.
They can only sell their transaction logs and information of their customers who uses it, but IMO they would not succeed in tracking everything since it is very easy to create a new wallet to use when transacting with amazon. The only problem is the user's address and other personal information that they can sell. I hope they wouldn't resort to it.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell or hold your XVG (Verge)? on: April 19, 2018, 02:16:25 PM
I have no patience for those kind of things, actually sold everything off with the PH announcement.
I think that was a great move since it is never wrong to take some profit after her holding it for a while(considering you have at least gained profit from selling after the PH announcement). I also don't suggest holding Verge as of the moment and buying it, There is a high chance for it to go down in price if PH announcement news will not be followed up by a positive development of it.
251  Economy / Speculation / Re: Brian Kelly Predicts Bitcoin Price Will Increase $25,000 by the Year End on: April 19, 2018, 01:24:52 PM
Yet another CEO trying to guess the price of Bitcoin...nothing new here. The article would've been a lot more interesting if it wasn't for the fact that he's repeating the same price target by giving the same old reasons as everyone else. Btw, why does everyone keep saying "250k by 2022"? Even after Bitcoin goes mainstream worldwide, 250k still sounds far-fetched to me.
Just ignore them since people likes to predict Bitcoin price crazily by claiming ridiculous prices. The article would also be better if the author also included his stronger basis(not just statements said by him/her). Like you I think the price speculated is unachievable in 2022, but it might be achieved in the long run if btc becomes mainstream on many countries.
252  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bad/good news relationship to the price? on: April 19, 2018, 12:42:23 PM
do you think that there is a correlation between the price of bitcoin and the news trends ?? I check the google news for "btc" everyday and I noticed that in the previous months when bitcoin's prices were dropping, the news were all grim and calling btc to be dead. however now that we are seeing a "potential" reversal (this could very well be a trap) I am noticing that the news are positive mostly.

so what I think is that the news are reflecting the "emotional" state of the market and what investors are feeling about bitcoin, and now for the most part it's positive.
Somehow your analysis is right but I would call it as "news reflecting the direction of the public's sentiment" most of the times but there are instances wherein the public's sentiment for crypto is good despite having a bad news. Either way news are a good indicator of price rise and dump, even if it is still a rumor that might turn out to be a fact someday(so long as it is from a credible source).
253  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I post a Topic about ICO List website? on: April 19, 2018, 12:11:12 PM
I created a new topic to discuss ICOs https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3350196.new#new.

I hope I choose correctly.

P.S.

CryptoRate is working on https://CCurrency.io now!
I think you chose the correct board although if you are asking only for opinions and suggestions about your website, you should have had posted it in altcoin discussion for a more in depth discussion and better recommendations for users who are veteran in discussing topics about alt cryptocurrencies. Thanks for creating a website, it is very informative and will help lessen research on ICOs.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE coin will it go beyond $1, why & why not? on: April 18, 2018, 01:45:01 PM
The answer is no, doge has been abandoned by the owner and nobody used it for investment anymore, some people just hold it for gambling
At least it has some real use cases unlike any other shitty altcoins out there that is pumped for now. Besides what you said, it can be used for cheaper transaction since fee is very cheap(1doge). IM9 dogecoin can reach 1$ but the chance is less than 0.01%, who knows? Maybe there will be a big project soon that would be centered around dogecoin.
255  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big price swings on: April 18, 2018, 12:02:30 PM
Anyone see notice the big price swings on BTC, Eth, LTC, and Bca all shot up at the same time and almost exactly 12 hours later all dropped off a cliff lower than where they started? Seems like a big fish manipulation, I noticed it many other times and makes me tilt my head and makes me leary
I think it is just a normal price movements and cannot be considered that big when the past price movements(bullish and bearish) are crazier than it. I also don't think that there aren't any manipulationa happening in the market, if what you claimed is true though, they won't be able to keep it up for a long time. If you also noticed it many other times, just think of it as normal volatility of crypto.
256  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie in crypto trading, whelp! Bot or human? on: April 18, 2018, 11:26:50 AM
hello guy's thanks for replying my thread.
thanks for the advice and tips.
just wondering what will bot make , i'll will be so happy of i can make like 20-50 a day.
i just doesnt have so much time looking at market all day lol.
any bot user here?

There are also no guaranteed returns if boot will do trading. In fact, it only might make you lose some money. If you don't have so much time looking at the market all day, why not look at it once a day? Better yet hodl long term and buy good coins, then check price movements at least once a week. That will help you solve your problem better than letting a bot do trades.
257  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Control the risk of your investment on: April 18, 2018, 10:57:03 AM
Invest or control the risk, spread the risk, put the eggs in a few baskets, and think about whether or not you're doing it right before each operation. Invest in a sensible investor who doesn't call in time.
Only spreading your investment will not do you any good if you haven't researched well enough about the coin you are planning to invest into.Just spread it on investment opportunities with real potential, and with real use cases so that risk can be greatly lessened.
Invest in yourself, learn some Technical Analysis and learn how to place stop losses and when to make entries, it's the best way and you have control over your own money, no need for third parties and the best thing is that IT WORKS. I have been doing it for months and I have saved myself thousands of dollars even with the recent crash, all thanks to stop losses and TA.
It is good to learn technical analysis but crypto cannot be predicted by TA's alone. One should also learn about Fundamental Analysis to predict the price movements accurately by utilizing both.
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does a great advertising solution token guarantee great profit revenue on: April 17, 2018, 01:30:46 PM
Hello guys please I will like us to share our opinion whether a great advertising token with popular exchanger guarantee good profit revenue other  than a token with good technology and good team.
For me a token with good technology and team is better than any token with a great advertising and is listed on popular exchanges. IMO those who focus too much on ads most of the times turns out to be a scam and for this reason I see tokens with good team and tech more profitable in the long run, so long as the team is active, with good public relation and marketing is okay and decent enough.
259  Economy / Speculation / Re: Barclays considering starting a cryptocurrency trading desk on: April 17, 2018, 11:36:35 AM
Another sign of mainstream financial interests moving into the cryptocurrency space.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-04-16/barclays-is-said-to-be-sounding-out-clients-about-trading-crypto

Quote
Barclays Plc has been gauging clients’ interest in the British bank starting a cryptocurrency trading desk, potentially joining Goldman Sachs Group Inc. in pioneering a new business on Wall Street, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

The CME and CBoE futures markets were only the start which allows major institutions to hedge their positions. I really see this opening up a path to a major inflow of fresh money.

This might as well be the start of organizational money era of bitcoin since it will gain massive support from organizations involved in finance and clients well involved with them. I also see this opening as the one who will make governments reconsider about their current ban or regulations on cryptocurrencies. I hope news like this one continues to pop out one after another.
260  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bounty-Signature on: April 17, 2018, 10:31:15 AM
No, that is no problem.  Though you will have some restrictions posting particular content.
If you don't promote scams and provide an escrow for holding the funds that shall be distributed to the participants, everything will be fine.

Thank you!
And if I'm a newbie?
It is also the same if you are a newbie. Even that is said, you cannot post images if you might have wanted to post in your thread. It can be easily solved though by paying up for copper membership so that you can post images even if you are a newbie. You can buy it here. You can also hire a signature campaign manager to ease your job if ever you want to pay others for putting up your signature.
