241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin replace gold? on: January 01, 2018, 07:18:28 PM
Somehow O don't see bitcoin and gold in the same category and the option that bitcoin will replace gold.
To my opinion there will always be bitcoin people and gold people, or ones who are more for new technologies and cryptocurrencies and those who prefere traditional and more secure investment options like gold. In that sense I don't think that bitcoin is competition to gold.
242  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: before or after new year on: January 01, 2018, 11:38:33 AM
We are already in the new year. The price hasn't changed actualy so it didn't matter much if you have bought bitcoin now are few days earlier.
Important is to have the plan and the strategy what you want to do with your coins short term and long term. You have to be aware that in long term holding there will be period when it will seem that you suffer loss because of volatility and that is why it's important to have the clear goal.
243  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you place all your funds into bitcoin? on: December 31, 2017, 05:15:20 PM
80% of my fund is in bitcoin and I do not care if bitcoin get to $1, I do not sell my bitcoin. Remaining 20% is in ether and other altcoin. ICO is another investment I dedicate certain percentage of my fund to!

Hope those are not exactly all your funds, or better to say you have something outside cryptocurrencies.
Although bitcoin is at the moment the most profitable investment still it's risky and you are exposed to potential loss. So if you have put so much of your funds into bitcoin you are pretty brave person.
I have only about 10% of my funds in bitcoin so far I didn't decide to invest more but even will rather small amount invested the profit could be great.
244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2017 is almost closed.... How was the Crypto year friends on: December 31, 2017, 01:38:52 PM
Best ever, for me. I'm in cryptocurrencies for few years now and this one was full of surprises but very prosperous for all cryptocurrencies and especialy for bitcoin. It has made a huge jump and despite all issues and obstacles the bright future is in front of it. So I expect for 2018 to be even better. Let's see what will bring to us.
245  Economy / Economics / Re: Easiest way to make BTC? on: December 31, 2017, 10:47:24 AM
Why do people think there is easy way to get bitcoin and become rich in no time? Bitcoins don't fall out of the sky so in every action to get bitcoin you should invest some time, knowledge, skills or even money.
Maybe the easiest way would be to sell something for bitcoins but the best and probably permanent option is doing some job for bitcoin like freelancer or to trade.

247  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will trade under $5,000, warns Dennis Gartman on: December 31, 2017, 09:49:09 AM
What else is new? Another attempt to discourage bitcoin users and give bad reputation to cryptocurrencies in general.
We are all aware of volatility and how easy the price can change, for better and for worse, but that doesn't mean we have to beleive every comment we read somwhere and get in panic.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2017 is Bitcoin Year and 2018 will be Ethereum Year on: December 29, 2017, 07:38:53 PM
Bitcoin will not stop here, it still hasn't achieved the peak. There is pleanty of room for further rise and I beleive we can expect to get to 20000$ within the first month of 2018.
Regarding the ETH it will probably remain its "second best coin" position with great possibilities for further growth but I don't think it can catch bitcoin or make better development.
249  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Beginning of the End? on: December 29, 2017, 07:01:29 PM
I also wonder what will happen with other crypto if Russia or ther countries will issue national crypto. They have much funds to promote it and it can replace some top coins.

I'm not convinced in that. It's true that big countries like Russia have a lot of money and influence but only this can't make some crypto great and accepted. And acceptance is something that keeps cryptocurrencies alive.
It's understandable that it's in their interest to create and promote state cryptocurrencies but that doesn't mean these coins will endanger or replace bitcoin, things are not working simple as that, so I'm not worried.
250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Anyway to speed up confirmations? on: December 29, 2017, 08:23:25 AM
Hello sir, I would like to buy a coffee

Ok, that will be $6

Ok, great. Now give me anywhere from 3-90 minutes for confirmation

Lol! That is the main roadblock for bitcoin to be accepted as a mainstream currency. The bitcoin network is entirely controlled and managed by the miners. So they do whatever they wish. This type of monopoly is not a good sign for the consumers. We are now forced to pay insanely higher fees to confirm our transaction. So in your post, for a $6 coffee the person will have to pay somewhere $9 in total including the fees and then comes the waiting time. That is the reason why people are moving to some other coins which are technologically superior that bitcoin.

I wouldn't say that the speed of transactions is the main obstacle for bitcoin to become mainstream currency. There are some other far more serious issues why bitcoin will never be mainstream, like high volatility, limited number and other.
Anyway, transaction speed is especialy issue for smaller users but also for businesses who are reluctant to accept bitcoin for that reason. Will biger and biger number of users and pressure on the network I don't see how this issue could be solved soon.
251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you mean when you say Bitcoin is number 1 on: December 28, 2017, 03:46:47 PM
I would say that bitcoin is number one in everything that you have mentioned except in privacy and transaction speed. This is something that could be discussed because bitcoin is not so private anymore as is used to be at the begininig and there are some other coins that are in front of it, like Monero. But on every other feature it has so many advantages that at the moment no other coin can't take its place.
252  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think the Xmas and Holiday season, caused the drop in the price? on: December 28, 2017, 10:40:34 AM
I don't think holidays influence the price big deal. Maybe in smaller range but not siginificantly, no matter that some users are cashing out their coins for spending on gifts and traveling. The last correction was caused by some other factors probably more complex than holiday season.
253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About Bitcoin Bad Rumors on: December 28, 2017, 09:09:42 AM
Everything that becomes very successfull for some reason some peole want to destroy. So is the situation with bitcoin too. Obviously there are some people or interest groups that don't like the new reality, bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, so they will do anything to make some damage. That is why source of such informations is also very important and needs to be evaluated before any kind of conclusion is made. Bad rumosrs will always exist and the best thing to do is to ignore them.
254  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will happen to Bitcoin tomorrow 28th? :rocket: on: December 27, 2017, 02:15:30 PM
I know that the fork is announced but still I hope somehow they will give up and cancel tihs fork.
This doesn't bring anything good to bitcoin system and those few free coins don't mena anything. Still if the fork happens I don't think this will influence the price in some big deal, not in positive or in negative way so this will pass and we will carry on like before.
255  Economy / Speculation / Re: Look like Christmastimes discount is over ? on: December 26, 2017, 07:38:15 PM
I don't know if we can call it recovery. It wasn't crash that happened but usual and normal correction that was expected so I would call this a pause in price rise that is about to continue.
Still price movement in any direction, up or down is still possible and don't be too optimistic too early and think the price will reach 20000$ before the end of the year.
If information about fork on 28th December are true and reliable everything is to be expected yet.
256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction cost is too high on: December 26, 2017, 05:53:56 PM
Transactions fees are high and expensive but that particulary applies to small value transaction. On higher values that isn't so big problem. But I would say that transaction fees are following the bitcoin price and situation on the market.
Fees are the issue that usualy affect small users and maybe that is the reason why this problem isn't in the centre of attention like it should be. But I beleive that in constructive dialoge with miners if there is a good will this could be improved. Hope this will happen soon because that can make small users to quit bitcoin.
257  Economy / Economics / Re: Being a Smart Person or Strategic on: December 26, 2017, 11:27:55 AM
I don't see how being smart is different from having strategic feature.
If you are smart you will realise how important is to have good strategy to achieve your goals and also to insure the back up plan if you have potential loss. To be both smart and with feeling for strategy is especialy important in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies investment.
To my beleive these two characteristics are something that every good and successful trader should have.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What took you by suprise, in terms of crypto, this year? on: December 26, 2017, 08:42:55 AM
The end of the year was surprise for me because of so fast bitcoin price growth. Also the number of bitcoin users that have rised enormuosly as well as the whole crypto market.
I wasn't expected so many forks either and that so many people would be mislead by bitcoin cash and bitcoin gold and that they don't realise those coins are fake.
I beleive the next year brings us more surprises, both pleasant and unpleasant.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoincash now is 3rd in CMC do you guys BCH can overtake bitcoin in future? on: December 25, 2017, 06:22:37 PM
Absolutely not, bitcoin cash can't take the bitcoins' place.
I can't understand how people can be so easily mislead and fed with false information. Bitcoin cash maybe has its moment of glory but this will not last for long and it will burst like bubble. It's just another fork product that has no future. I can't believe that some tiny small profit is everything that people are interested in. Think with your own head, don't let  be misguided.
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will the 28th Hard Fork affect the price of BTC & Altcoins on: December 25, 2017, 10:42:59 AM
I have my opinion about all this forks that is not actualy very positive. So many of them so often are needless and uselles and make nothing but confusion. And I don't beleive that fork can improve the network and cut the fees.
This one announced for the end of December will not influence the price significantly, that is my opinion. I know that many users are happy about the forks because of few so called free coins and that is their only goal but they forget what is fork actualy all about and these false coins would be soon worthless.
