Should we start updating our clients with he new Mac? (Mac user here)
When we release, yes. But not yet. Also, I thought you might like to know. I'm testing the new Mac client right now. It took about 10 hours for it to sync today. However, last night I left it to sync overnight, using its wi-fi connection. When I got up this morning to check it, the wi-fi had cut off when the unit went to sleep, which stopped it dead as far as downloading the blockchain. I set it on a wired connection and it synced as expected. |

the upcoming client syncs much faster
Not my experience with the Mac OS one, I am here about a week and still working. The windows was done in less than a day. So the client wallet has to go over all the blockchain transactions to be synched right? Why can't the new client be released with the full blockchain or parts of it to speed up the update? Can I try that? like getting the files from the folders on my Windows and placing them on my Mac? Or would that corrupt my client? Taking a week to sync is way too long. I think I usually sync in about 8 hours tops. Usually when my client is seriously chugging on sync its because I'm tight on disk space. Are you sure you have enough? The debug logs will hold some wisdom for these kinds of problems. Also, I've run into issues trying to sync two clients on my LAN at the same time. If you are doing this, make sure UPNP is active, make sure firewalling is not an issue, and make sure ports aren't conflicting. I've never tried moving the data files in from windows to mac... It may work. Just make sure you get them in the right place. Also make ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN you've made a backup of wallet.dat if you have any coins in your wallet before trying anything like that. We have plans in place to make a bootstrap file available for the new client, which makes syncing go even faster, but still not on par with something like electrum. |

@Ratcoin, and anyone else  The dev team looks for more than a price when selling off (or donating ) coin. I think you would find us very generous, if the reason you want the coin will be used to strenghthen sexcoin's position. In other words, if the buyer needs the coins to open a web-store, or if the person needs the coins to fund a project that will increase sexcoin's utility. Sexcoin's largest weakness has been its loss of utility over the last year. Both Poloniex and Bittrex have expressed an interest in listing the coin, but negotiations have fallen apart when we cannot sufficiently answer "What can you do with it right now?" This, to us, feels a bit like a catch-22 but it is the reality. I cannot tell you how many inquiries I field from people wanting to buy large quantities of sexcoin for cheap; almost invariably what they want to do is fund a small (or large) pump-n-dump. I'm not posting this to discourage you, as a matter of fact we really want people that can see sexcoin's potential, and I'm really glad to see you so active on the thread. Welcome to the community! |

As the lead dev for Sexcoin, I can tell you its not dead. Our growth has been rocky, you can figure that out simply by reading through the threads. The original dev disappeared and a few of us that saw the potiential picked it up and kept it moving. If anyone is truly curious about the history I'd be happy to go through it, but will spare the thread the long read. The russian that keeps being mentioned is a passionate supporter... and she's pretty hot She can see the potential, the way the rest of us that believe in Sexcoin see it. Right now, we're getting ready to release a new client that has age verification features. Cam-to-cam and token sites have always been high on our list of places sexcoin can carve out a niche, and age verification get's carried on the transaction level, so sexcoin can be sent with age verification attached. When the coins show up, it also reports if the sender has confirmed being over the age of consent, over 18 , over 21, or if no verification is given. We're hoping this can set the stage for deeper adaptation. Past that, the potential we see is for all things adult oriented. From pay-per-view sites, to micro-transactions on porn sites, to adult toy-stores, to local fetish economies like artisans and service providers. Pretty much anything you would want some descretion involved in the transaction. So the android app ( which has been available ) coupled with age verification creates a pretty strong foundation for a coin. |

Your wallet will report the balance of ALL the addresses used in the wallet. Check the transactions for entries that don't match the block explorer. |

Hey everyone, I'm back. Getting ready to do the release. I've been away for awhile, as many of you know, so get me up to speed. PM's work well and I'll also be checking Sexcoinforum.comI'll also be available on freenode, #sxcdev on a limited basis. What will the release have? Age verification? Definitely. It also jumps the client on par with litecoin 0.10.4 features. There will also be an updated Android wallet, along with p2pool software for sexcoin release. So does this mean that sxc is getting segwit? All the coins that did, had a major pump. We're looking over segwit. Its not going to be in this release, but its not off the table for the future. |
