Congratulate the winner!

d - GazetaBitcoin

Wow! I did not expect to win, but it seems it was my lucky day Smiley First of all, the spot I chose was previously taken by someone else but it wasn't considered and, besides, 1 chance out of 16 spots represents only 6.25% chances to win. Yet I was lucky Smiley

Thank you for this raffle, UniJoin! It's a great prize!
[...]

Congrats, Gazeta! With all that was going on with Ledger recently I find it very refreshing to see a different HW up for free raffle.
Thanks again to UniJoin for this opportunity and please keep 'em coming.  Cheesy

Sometimes, the Bitcoin block train might arrive a bit later than expected. This could add an interesting twist to the game, like a surprise element. I'm curious to see how it works out.

Both postcards are being auctioned as a bundle, so you get them together. The soft porn postcard is the very last one, and unfortunately, I don't have any more left.

Shipping is free within the EU and US (including MJ).

P.S. I've made new images, and I appreciate the helpful tip.
Ahh, I missed the auction end. Wasn't paying attention to the block height.

Very cool, I think updating the pics already helped a lot. Your stuff looks really good. Keep it up, and maybe another auction.
Need to find a convenient app or tool to notify if a certain block-height is hit, though. Anyone got a suggestion?

Nice to see another raffle for a quality HW wallet.

There are a few important qualities to a good mixer. The obvious ones include anonymity of user-data.
However I'd say one of the maybe overlooked ones is ease-of-use and adoption.
Ideally you can easily access the mixer within a wallet with just a few clicks. This increases the number of mixed BTC - if everyone would use a mixer, all coins would be equal again. Ofc this would also need low fees - which would be possible of volume is high enough.
Just my 2 sats. Thanks.
245  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [WARNING] Wallets created with Libbitcoin Explorer (bx) are insecure! on: August 17, 2023, 03:47:49 PM
There is nothing random in Marsenne Twister. If you feed it the same seed, you will always get the same output.
That might create an unhelpful equivalence.

There are CSPRNG  -- cryptographically secure pseudorandom number generators.  Once you feed in enough (say 256 bits) of genuine randomness they run deterministically and spout out as much random numbers as you want, which are generally just as good as new random values-- arguably better in that you're not exposed to a hardware trng flaking out or being slow.  Their main downside is that their state is a secret you have to protect.

Then there are non-CS PRNGs, like mersenne twister.   The output from those shouldn't be used for security relevant purposes because attackers can predict them from seeing some earlier output (or sometimes without seeing any output at all, for really bad ones).
[...]
Reminds me, wasn't there someone that stole a few thousand BTC a litttle less than a decade ago from Primedice that way? Fuzzy memory, but I thought they read-out the current output of "random" numbers and with this information were able to determine the seed that was used to generate these numbers. With the seed they could then predict the upcoming outputs from the RNG.

Also, aren't there Hardware-RNGs - Pokerstars for example claims/claimed to have one in use to "shuffle" their virtual cards. I think it uses radioactive decay to create this kind of true randomness.

Edit, did a little research, seems they use a LASER beam - my guess is it's actually a quantum effect, nothing to do with radioactive decay. (?)
Not too much real info here, but still entertaining: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DkHzOUzDjc

BUMP.

Would possibly also be up to trade against a redeemed cas coin with hologram.
If you got any and willing to trade, please send me a DM.

Thanks for the update(s). Shame no addresses found, these coins ARE unique and so well designed.
Any chance to reduce starting bid?
Just aying, around the 0.01 mark I'd most likely throw in a bid.
248  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Sale] First of it's kind - Lost coin series - V1 coins on: August 17, 2023, 03:07:57 PM
Interesting / unique coin design for sure. As kid my favourite kind of coins where these (Chinese?) Yen coins with "mysterious" symbols and a hole in the middle.

The coin looks amazing, but the price is a bit high IMO. Is that because of the production costs to make such a piece + holo?

Yes. It was a really expensive (time and money)  process of 9 months and had to pay extra as coins kept breaking. Had to change design 15 times. Had to return coins multiple times. At this price we are at loss.  Plus three different trials with stickers. As stickers won’t fit. Overall it’s a 3x more effort than Vibyor orange coins. Originally we want to keep the cost as 499usd. But we are hoping if we sell all we can make money from version 2. Lots of costs involved. We also want to do custom capsules but no more time.

Regards
Team RC
I was wondering about the production process, not too suprised production costs were so high with lots of trial and error. This one's not within my budget range for a new coin.
249  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Mixed Lot: Tiffany/BTC money clip, Ballet Unconfiscatable, Which-Which on: August 16, 2023, 03:24:48 PM
Lot 6: 0.0014
Lot 7: 0.0014

"coin number unknow" - have you checked the sides of the coins? Not sure if I recall correctly but I thought these did have marking.
Or perhaps MrMojoRising has any additional info on these?

251  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Kialara Guardians: Share, Trade, Buy, and Sell on: August 15, 2023, 04:24:09 PM
Funky collection. If I find the time this weekend, would like to compile the submitted images into some sort of summary-graphic, just to show the different types for the four elements next to each other.
Ofc if anyone wants to do this in the meantime, feel free!

Oh and that's an insane giveaway, a Builder.  Shocked

I've added the ones in this thread to the coin wiki here: https://wiki.coin.community/Kialara_-_Guardians

But a well designed infographic would be nice.
Wow, that's some fantastic effort to collect all the different designs from Kialara. Great work, Hox! Should check the coin wiki more often.
I have given up on the graphics idea because the provided photos are so different in angle and size/quality, it's a lot of effort for a not very congruent result. I think the page you created is already enough anyways.

254  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] Alpen Coin "Scam Coin" on: August 14, 2023, 01:29:59 AM
I like the .001 but with only one coin funded - its not getting rekt otherwise

Disagree as what you are referring to is totally rekt.  You can still get rekt if a significant portion of your investment is lost.  Even FTX isn't at zero and is still ranked 217 in terms of market cap.  I'm thinking a totally rekt edition would be more appropriate and applicable to a Yogg/Cold Cunt coin.

Yeah 0.001 Funding is the way to go and not totally rekt at all...so gotta agree with 2stout on that.

Would like my coin to have bits on it so I can treat it as a loaded coin and thus it will remain so in my collectables
I like both ideas. 0.001 funding seems collector friendly and still amounts to quite a bit for the rug-pull coin. Also I'd prefer to chop the funds, one winner coin and the rest with a minimal loading amount remaining, gotta agree there with Krogoth and 2stout.

The whole point also is for everyone to peel to see who is the winner and who got rekt
Just because that's the "whole point" for you does not mean it's the whole point for everyone.
Never read "coins must be peeled to determine a winner".

What I do care about is a coin that plays with the scam terminilogy, ideally in different ways (references in design, as well as the loading aspect). However I don't care what everyone does with their coins. Imho you can hodl for 30 years and peel then or peel right away.
Actually I think it's even more fun if everyone decides by themselves. If for example 1/3 of collectors peel and don't find they are the winner, it also becomes more enticing for the remaining to peel. Could be some interesting dynamic.

255  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] TWO COINS on: August 14, 2023, 01:20:26 AM
Okay now! These look amazing, great work! Is this technique also possible with precious metals?
Could imagine it vaporizes too much of the material in the process or some other factors not making clean cuts possible.

Also interested on what's gonna happen with the other coins.
Gosh, the detail and "strength" of these coins is just something new!
I did one on a pure silver coin it started out 31.1 grams after the laser it was 28 grams Sad So silver is not a good idea haha I am gonna try titanium and some other metals next
Haha, I thought something like that would happen. But I mean a 10% loss shouldn't be too bad (not sure about breathing the air, though). Still would love to see some silver.

Oh, just after finishing typing I see Krogoth just pretty much wrote down what I am thinking. : )

Anyway, great work and please continue.

258  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Coins- Serious Issue- Titan Mint Bitcoin Coins ***NEW UPDATES*** on: August 13, 2023, 12:03:16 AM
Hi - is there a way to see coin value based on QR at the back? (PK)
= prove that it's "funded" - now that old Titanbts is no more and Titanmint does nothing!
Satpile - that was mentioned above doesn't work on iph ..
would be a shame to peel just to confirm ..
Thx,
A.

Well, ofc you cannot know if the private key correctly corresponds with the public key (QR code on coin) - however there are no known cases of this not being the case.
So you could just scan the QR code and enter the displayed public address into a Bitcoin block explorer, for example: https://blockchair.com/
You would see if there are still "spendable output(s)" available with your balance or if these are swiped. If the explorer cannot find the address it means it was never loaded and thus cannot be found on the blockchain.
All that said, for now I believe there are no known issues with private-key Titan bits.
259  Economy / Collectibles / Re: New Binary eagle on: August 12, 2023, 10:20:21 AM
Just to clarify, and i know weve discussed these coins at nauseam on other threads. None of the bulls were actually swept or hacked. There was only an issue with the way the private keys were created. It involved a lengthier process to sweap not typical of what is normal. There was never a scam im aware of with either the 2014 eagle or bull. Just poor key production. I believe there was also one coin purchased in the secondary market by LC that had the hologram still affixed but no funds on the coin.
Yeah, I see where you are coming from, but I stick to my previous post given the sum of "hick-ups" that occured.
As someone said before, it might just be a rogue employee or whatever that compromised a whole project. Not saying it is indeed compromised, but there are some signs that I will not ignore this time. Maybe just oversensitive.

Here is the original thread regarding the swept 2014 eagle: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5231305.msg54367281#msg54367281

As far as I know these coins are still safe and mine are loaded today.
If I read it correctly that's not what happened, indeed the funds were swiped twice, once before holo peel and once after refunded. (?)

260  Economy / Collectibles / Re: New Binary eagle on: August 12, 2023, 01:14:25 AM
I own a few bulls and one eagle (first edition, not this new rip-off bs one).
And as much as I hate to speak ill on collectibles that I like (optics / quality), everything that's been going on with coins from their mint leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Maybe 8 months ago I would have been more relaxed or just figured it was all explainable by some tiny mistakes / inexperience etc.
But with all that's happened this year (yogg, Titan, Betnomi...), it's another project with a bunch of red-flags - I myself and I believe quite a few fellow collectors here have the tendency to ignore these or try to "rationalize" things until it's too late.

tldr: Will stay away from these, too much fishiness going on, haven't decided what to do with the coins in my possesion, probably hodl and pray for now.
