241  Economy / Economics / Re: Malaysia to Limit Cash Transactions in 2020 on: November 26, 2019, 02:57:34 AM
The country is set to implement an unprecedented restriction on the use of cash.[1] This is doubtless the first time that a country is to implement such bizarre measure to counter the abuse of cash. Somehow, this national policy is implying that cash, at least within the country, is being abused for various illegal activities.

While some business communities are against such drastic measure as it would certainly affect their day to day operation, an idea pops out that they could actually circumvent this policy by adopting the use of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.[2] An ordinary household in Malaysia is said to spend around 8,000 Malaysian Ringgit (RM) per month, way below the 25,000 RM limit. But still, a lot are clamoring to increase the limit as the current proposed limit is way to low.

Would you care to share your thoughts on this? Will this really be a window for significant growth of Bitcoin or crypto adoption in this Southeast Asian country?

[2] https://bitcoinist.com/bitcoin-usage-may-spike-following-cash-restrictions-in-malaysia/

This has been a tendency for governments all over the world for decades, they want to eliminate cash and in order to do so they are going to use every excuse that they can find and they have decided to try to scare people away by saying that only criminals use something like cash, something which we know it's not true, fortunately we do not we need to look for a solution for this issue since it already exist and its name is bitcoin, let's see if they can find a way to limit digital cash.

I guess this is all for the control of the use of cash. You and I know that cash can be abused. In fact, it is already used by many criminals. Drug lords, terrorists, and other huge syndicates are mostly using cash. This is actually detrimental to the economy of the country in one way or another because by limiting the use of cash, the people will be limited in their spending and expenses. That affects the economy. This might really be another reason for the people in this country to use crypto instead.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would you have done? on: November 26, 2019, 02:25:23 AM
If 2019 should have been reversed back to 2017, just these once what would decisions will you revert?

I wish we could do this. If 2017 will come back and will give me the opportunity to reverse any decision I made at that time, I will be deciding to sell all my cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin and altcoins, during their ATH days in 2017. That was too high but because I decided to continue HODLing them, I was not able to enjoy that ATH. I will be buying back all of them in 2018, because at that time, the prices are already down and very affordable. I would have made a lot of money.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO is going to be slower ? on: November 25, 2019, 03:45:22 AM
Recently, I noticed that all the platforms are just like pausing launching new IEOs, If you notice top IEOs launcher platforms like Binance, Okex,Kucoin or Huobi, you will see a gap between 1-1.5 months. ICOs, then IEOs, then What next?

This is not surprising at all. Projects are either postponing their IEOs and ICOs or even cancelling everything. There are also a lot of projects that extend indefinitely their schedule together with their campaigns here. All these are indicators that there are very few investors in the IEO/ICO market. This must have something to do with them not trusting anymore the market and what it offers. We cannot blame them because the market has been offering failures all the time.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think crypto world needs... on: November 25, 2019, 03:15:47 AM
What do you think the crypto world needs at the moment? (I'm talking about projects)

In my opinion there is no real platform/website that offers everything you need. For example, news, some kind of trading tools or indicators, educational program maybe hot articles etc...

The things you are asking are all available already. Try to search more and you will find abundant resources in terms of trading tools and indicators, hot articles, educational videos and articles, etc.

What the crypto world needs at the moment is adoption. There are many projects but very few using them. Some projects are already dead because no one is using their product.
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocurrency market continues to blood shed on: November 25, 2019, 02:22:55 AM
This is the reason
https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-drops-below-73k-as-china-vows-to-dispose-of-exchanges

So many people are putting a lot of their hopes in china but i personally never put a big expectation crypto to be adopted in short time. Remember about what already said by Xi-jinping is about blockchain and not crypto.

Many didnt pay attention to what Xi-jinping said and blindly bought BTC in bull run that started after his statement on blockchain, they are now cursing the crypto market.

Do you think a country like China which is a control freak btw, giving social scores to its citizens (they may not even give you a passport if you have low score) would adopt bitcoin which is a fuck you in the face to all governments? Keep dreaming. Bitcoin means freedom and the Chinese government is the complete opposite of that term.
China is a control freak country in term of its territory. You're right about bitcoin is a freedom and the centralized entities will always put it as an opponent to the absolute centralized system that created by the governments. China is the opposite party since when the bitcoin was created but, people are not even watched the full statements that already stated by XI in the past.

China is a control freak not just within its own territory but also outside its own territory. China wants to control other countries actually. They are currently bullying a lot of poorer countries so that they will be reduced into mere slaves in other words. China would say this and they will comply. China also showers them with projects that are actually a way for these poor countries to be indebted to it. There is no doubt that China is honestly an enemy to Bitcoin because Bitcoin means getting out of control.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin vs. Dogecoin - FML on: November 25, 2019, 02:00:39 AM
So I invested in Litecoin at around 0.015 BTC because of the halving but it has been such a massive disappointment. Dogecoin on the other hand has maintained its value against BTC and is now even higher. I don't get it? There's only gonna be 64 million LTC ever but DOGE is over 120 billion now with no max supply and keeps adding about 5 billion new DOGE to its supply every year. Why is DOGE holding stronger than LTC Sad

The times are different. Sometimes Litecoin (LTC) is increasing while Doge is decreasing while other times Doge is increasing while Litecoin (LTC) is decreasing. That is normal among altcoins. Their demands are changing. But it does not necessarily mean that DOGE is stronger than Litecoin as a project. I think it is clear enough that Litecoin is way better than Doge although Doge has actually an actual utility among crypto users.

Wow! This is an amazing historical compilation of events that became a precursor to the great Bitcoin. I will read more of this for sure after my work. Thank you for exerting great effort for this and sharing this to everyone. Bitcoin is more appreciated if everyone knows more of it and its history.
248  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is changing the personal asset management market on: November 24, 2019, 03:00:43 AM
Only keep crypto you can afford to lose. Preferably you'd have most of your "savings" in other forms instead of justcash in banks. You are just losing money keeping your money in there. For example the highest interest I've seen in my country that don't lock the money in for 5+ years is 0.25%/annum with a minimum daily balance of $983- the inflation rate is around 3%.
Thats too small if we compare with another saving or Investment.  With that inflation our money value actually decrease alot if we used to buy goods. Investment with null risk and high return was property or land.. It will need more money but its return high enough if compared with bank saving.. Meanwhile in crypto it has high return it also container high risk too. And be wise with our money for crypto investing will help us from bankrupt condition.

Definitely! You are even better off risking lending that money to friends and colleagues at 5% interest. What's surprising is the number of people that are surprised to find out that money in bank pretty much don't earn anything.

Banks have their uses but they are NOT for growing wealth. Keep your money in them while saving up for an investment and maybe keep a minimum to retain access to stuff like ATM and credit cards.

Wealth-making should never be a consideration when making a savings account in the banks. They are just savings but not income generator. Even time deposits and bonds offered in the banks are giving very little interest that it is always better not to go for them. It is better to buy properties that appreciate rather than save money itself which is depreciating. Putting money in the banks for regular necessary expenses are good though because that gives security.
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any clue why whales are pumping shit coins at DEX? on: November 24, 2019, 02:36:54 AM
As you know , if you are trading at Dex you could easily see x100 pumps . After that pump, price down to usual point. So what is that meaning?  If any whale wants to collect the tokens, there are many better ways to collect them more cheaper. Any clue ? is that money laundring?

There are many possible explanations to this. There is no single factor for such occurrences. If a certain coin is pumping hard in a particular DEX it is possible that there is really a demand for it. There might be information being passed around about an upcoming major announcement. That is a factor. It is also a factor that the devs themselves are trying to put more action to their tokens by creating a pump. It is also a possibility that some whales are creating pump and dump of the prices.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRADING A SINGLE TOKEN IN BETWEEN EXCHANGES on: November 24, 2019, 02:12:38 AM
i have tried my best to make little money from this crypto business but it seems like i am not getting things right. from Airdrops to bounties. everything turn to pennies and scams at the end. i have tried to invest in ICOS and IEOs. the product plummets immediately the moment it spends two months in the market. i want to try another option and wish to ask here if it is favourable. i discovered that there are tokens that shares different prices in different exchanges.
simple: i buy low from one exchange and sell high in another. looks simple but i think it is worth while, i tired it once with Mainstream For The Underground token. i made a little cash but it was just a trial.  Grin Grin.
hope to share this here.

There was a time before when there were a lot of arbitrage traders, earning by buying from a particular exchange and selling it to another. Arbitrage trading is oftentimes a quick transaction. It has to be done quickly because sooner rather than later, the prices will more or less becomes equal. If not exactly equal, near enough that arbitrage will become a waste of time for a very little gain after all the fees are deducted. Right now, I can seldom see significant price differences among exchanges.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good trading volume doesn't mean a token is good on: November 24, 2019, 01:50:11 AM
Let's talk about p2b, is this a scam trading platform? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5203715.msg53155451#msg53155451
About a month ago, P2B always held the leading position on Coinmarket in terms of trading volume. How does the P2B exchange generate virtual trading volumes? I think the Bot has been launched on trading pairs ....
There are too many coins despite the large trading volume, displayed on CMC but there is no liquidity (shitcoin) on it.
it's true that the place of exchange can be number one in coin marketcap but you have to know that the place of manipulation of trading volume aims to be seen as a new exchange place that already has a high trading volume and it's done very easily, so for anyone not to be fooled by the place exchange that has made many people lose.

Volume is now very much shady as compared years before. Today, volumes are not only fake, even the right volume are under the manipulation of a few. But since it is the one that gives the traders the liquidity that they need, even fake volumes, the ones that are caused by the bots, are helping the price in one way or another to be constantly moving.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is now the right time to buy altcoin? on: November 23, 2019, 03:41:23 AM
Holla friends, I want ask opinion and advice regarding the situations of altcoins and BTC today
You know , today market are show bad price for all coin and token.
Is th eright time for make some profit with buying altcoins ?

I cannot speak with certainty whether this is already the cheapest prices the altcoins and Bitcoin can get. It is possible that this is not yet the bottom. However if you make sure that you will not be left out, set your buy orders in different amounts. Buy them at this current price. These current prices of altcoins and BTC are already cheap. But create another buy orders at lesser prices if ever the prices will still continue to decrease.

This is just my observation, do not get offended. The Tron tokens that you listed above appear all shitcoins for me. At least for now. They might have the chance to grow into solid coins later on with the development of their respective product, creating new partnerships with trusted companies, and attracting more investors and users. For now, there is no special in them.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your best investment in crypto since 2018 on: November 23, 2019, 02:30:44 AM
Hello Bitcointalkers,
What is your best investment in the crypto space since 2018? As the 2019 year is ending, so, we can have a discussion about it. For me, my best investment was the Counting House ICO in 2018. The sale price was 1100 CHT token for 1 Ethereum and later it's price hit more than 3 USD per coin. I am still finding a project like Counting House, but haven't seen yet.

I have not made any investment in the ICO or even in the IEO market for the past few years. And I think I will never ever get into that market again for investment. Not unless there will be another project that is a giant even before it launches its own coin. My best investment in crypto since 2018 are the top coins that I am still hodling until now. They are not yet bearing big gains but they will in the future.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this really a good plan? on: November 23, 2019, 01:55:15 AM
Few of my colleagues told me they quit bounty because many new projects are finding it very difficult to reach soft cap and those who manages to reach softcap ends up listing on ridiculous exchanges because of listing fee, a part of me feels like they are right because if a new project fails to aim for top exchange its game over,  the question now is why promoting new projects then?

The answer to your question is right there in your post itself. Why promote new projects then? There is almost no reason why we should promote new projects for now. The reason is right there before your question. Projects have difficulty reaching soft cap. Those which reached soft cap have their coins listed on ridiculous exchanges. And as you said yourself, those projects who fail to aim for top exchanges are gonna face the game over stage.
257  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 3 Top Tips to Stay Safe While Margin Trading Crypto on: November 22, 2019, 03:39:38 AM

I have a question to all of the traders here, especially when it comes to crypto margin trading. Do you think these three tips about staying safe while doing margin trading crypto would be effective?

All of these things are useful, but it depends a lot on how the trader uses them. However, I don't see the article mentioning a stop loss, and I think a stop loss is the most important in a risky trade like margin trading.

Setting a stop loss is a major commandment in the book of cryptocurrency margin trading. No one should forget about stop loss, especially in margin trading. In margin trading, especially if the leverage is being set at a very high level, everything will turn to zero in a blink of an eye. If you set an order and forget to set a stop loss and you take a very short nap, it is very possible that when you wake up and get back to your trading portfolio, it says you have zero balance. Setting a stop loss is a golden rule.
258  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is changing the personal asset management market on: November 22, 2019, 03:17:33 AM
Of course it is generally good because that means the control is transferred fully in yourself. It is much better compared to the times when your personal asset is being managed by other people who sometimes are not to be fully trusted. There have been countless of issues with personal managers having failed their bosses.

But this is also a double-edged sword because there are also other people who are really too poor or too busy in personally managing their assets. They better hire reliable and trustworthy managers in such cases.
259  Economy / Economics / Re: Which countries have banking friendly to companies that get paid in bitcoin? on: November 22, 2019, 02:53:17 AM
I want to establish a company to sell software to help in bitcoin trading.

I could get paid in fiat via a payment processor, but even still, banks have told me at one country I was going to incorporate in, that even getting euros or dollars on my account from such business would be a problem.
Is anyone aware of countries, preferably, of course, with a low tax rate, that don't have issues with their clients getting money from this?

Thanks.

I am not sure with tax rates but I guess you have a handful of choices in terms of countries that are crypto friendly. Lichtenstein is one country which shows a lot of friendly gestures toward crypto. You can also choose Malta. Estonia is also a choice. In Asia, you have countries such as Japan and Singapore that have got no problems with crypto. But you need to do a more meaningful research and coordination to make your business successful and hindrance-free
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Send More Fraudlent Developers to Jail and I still Sanity Into Crypto on: November 22, 2019, 02:25:21 AM
Maksim Zaslavskiy, a computer programmer from Brooklyn and the first person in the United States to be convicted of running a fraudulent initial coin offering (ICO) has been sentenced to a year and a half behind bars as over 1000 investors were duped.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/us-ico-scammer-sentenced-to-18-months-in-jail?utm_source=Telegram&utm_medium=social

I think more of this Jail time will help sanitise the cryptocurrency space. What do you guys think?

If you want to sanitize the entire cryptocurrency world, these scammers should not only be given a short jail vacation sentence. 18 months is too short if what they did was tarnishing the reputation of crypto, victimizing investors of thousands or even millions of their hard earned money, getting innocent people get involved into a scam, etc. And this 18 months sentence could still be further shorten with the help of their lawyers
