Thanks to each of you who has taken us up on this offer! You've put your trust in us, we know it and we take it seriously.

To demonstrate how seriously we take your trust, we want to offer you details on how we'll treat your hard earned bitcoin balance on August 1st and beyond. You'll find our statement on the potential for a hard fork, which was recently posted to the Free BTC landing page, below.

Quote from: FreeBitco.in Official Hard Fork Statement
Recently, there have been discussions about the possibility of a bitcoin hard fork happening so we wanted to address the issue for users who have their coins stored with us.

We feel that the possibility of a hard fork has been greatly exaggerated, however we are prepared to deal with it if it does happen.

If there is a hard fork, we shall always follow the longest chain (the chain with the most proof of work) as our primary coin. Bitcoins on the secondary chain however, will be made available for withdrawal by users after there has been a clear winning chain. So for each satoshi that users have with us, they will receive 2 (or more if there are multiple forks), one on the longest chain and one in the minority chain/s.

Are any of your other online or exchange wallets making such public statements to put your mind and your Bitcoin at ease?

Please help us spread the word about our loyalty to you.

If you're thinking of an alternative...

Consider whether any alternative is offering you assurances in how they'll treat your bitcoin balance on August 1st and beyond. You'll find our statement on the potential for a hard fork, which was recently posted to the Free BTC landing page, below.

245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF YOU BOUGHT $5 OF BITCOIN 7 YEARS AGO, YOU’D BE $4.4 MILLION RICHER on: July 13, 2017, 06:13:57 PM
Yeah, craziness. Although you'd have a higher likelihood of using your easy-to-acquire Bitcoin to buy something silly at 1,000 a piece. And imagine how easy it was to mine back then. I know Mt. Gox and BitInstant were around but mining was so easy and the reward for each block won was 50BTC, would have made it easy to rack up a significant balance. You'd just have to hope that holding on for dear life would be something you valued above anything else!
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people fear 1st Aug hardfork? on: July 13, 2017, 03:45:28 AM
In the past there were many hardfork events and I remember people did not fear them. Why does 1st Aug hardfork make people worry? And why don't they make it a softfork so Bitcoin won't be splitted?

The fear of the unknown, really. And of course being on the wrong side of the blockchain if/when Bitcoin forks and becomes two versions of Bitcoin. It's happened to Ethereum, there's an Ethereum Core that's mostly being ignored and not following the same appreciation that Ethereum has.

Also, all the infighting between miners and developers presents reason to be worried about the future of Bitcoin. I mean, if together we stand then divided we fall.

Any of you guys taking advantage of the interest we're paying?
252  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: freebitco.in Annual investment on: July 10, 2017, 03:37:52 AM
Bumping this up because I want to share our thoughts on the August 1st situation that's looming. This, obviously, has implications on where each of us decides to hold our Bitcoin. And since we offer one of (if not the) first bitcoin wallet to pay interest (and DAILY!) I want you all to know where we stand.

A UASF hard fork seems very unlikely but if it does happen, we shall follow the longest chain as our primary coin and secondary coins will be made available for withdrawal for all users so you will get 2 coins for each one you have on balance with us.

I hope this gives everyone confidence that leaving your coins on balance with us, to continue to take advantage of the daily interest will allow you the opportunity to choose the Bitcoin version of your choice, post fork.

I'm happy to answer questions, directly or with insight from wetsuit.

Thanks all!

Where do we draw the line? Let's say I have 6 family members and each of them are accessing the internet from behind the same router with their accounts linked to their cellphone number. Will this be seen as abuse?

Just to add one thought onto what wetsuit has already shared...consider the line as, have all of these account been generated as referrals of one person in the house and for the purpose of generating referral commission? If so, you're getting very close to the line.

We had someone with 10+ referral accounts that were proven to be generated by the same person and controlled by the same person...this person had stepped over the line.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is instant way to get rich ? on: July 06, 2017, 11:30:27 PM
There's not much opportunity to get rich quick, but there's plenty of opportunity to get rich slowly. The earliest adopters of bitcoin have been waiting 9 long years to see the level of appreciation and attention that we see today.

New bitcoins are generated  due to bitcoin halving , not discovered  Grin

Wow, this is not excusable for a Sr. Member on this forum. You just made this up, right?

i want to use different strategies per account, so they dont mix up in the history. When i use both strategies one after another in the same account, i will only see the stats of a mix of both strategies.

Whoa, this could be very interesting! I like this idea!

In addition to sharing your results with us, you should make sure that you isolate just a few (ideally one) test variable, keeping all other variables the same so we can have better confidence in the results!
