2401  Economy / Gambling / Re: Land base slot vs Online slot RTP on: May 06, 2023, 07:05:51 AM
Based on other user experience, Other casino put a 99% RTP sign on one of the machine to mislead players that all slots have same RTP while in reality its only that single slot have high RTP in the row and the rest has low RTP.
Technically, it's a trick that land-based casinos use and they aren't lying. The trick is saying "play on our slot machines with RTP rates of up to 99%." They don't claim all machines have RTP returns of 99%, just that some or one of them has. It's not lying, it's playing a game with words that many players overlook. They only see the 99% statement and miserably fail to read the important words that precede it.

I haven't spent too much time in physical casinos, but I doubt they would point to the exact machine that has the highest RTPs. That's simply not good business, as players would be rushing to play on it. Ultimately, it would cause somewhat more frequent payouts.
2402  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake Ledger pre-IPO on: May 06, 2023, 06:48:53 AM
I'm curious to know how this works, are they making a fake Ledger wallet device similar to the original wallet, or are they modifying the official wallet and planting malware in it?
It's neither the first nor the second. The scammers are pretending that Ledger has started selling their stock to the general public. An IPO is an Initial Public Offering. It's when a stock gets listed on the stock market and investors get a chance to purchase it. The idea is to trick people into sending them money in exchange for the ownership of Ledger stocks. Obviously, there are no Ledger stocks, and investors would just be filling some scammer's pockets.
2403  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gazeta impersonator on Telegram on: May 06, 2023, 06:29:20 AM
Much better if they can ping their account here in the forum just to verify that they are talking to the real Gazeta or Royse777.
That's the normal and safe way of handling it anyway. Everything else is just risky and asking for trouble. If someone PMs you on Telegram and says, it's me Pmalek, and offers you some kind of deal, a conscious individual would want to confirm who that person is. If we have never spoken before and there is no history of previous conversations between the two of us, the standard routine would be for you to PM me here and ask if that is me who make contact with you over Telegram. If not, you only have yourself to blame for whatever happens because you believed an impersonator.
2404  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gazeta impersonator on Telegram on: May 05, 2023, 06:31:19 PM
I am not surprised to see such impersonators to be honest. You have a very recognizable name, plus the merit cycler avatar. Not to mention that you are positively rated member and trusted in the community. You also escrow funds for other people. All those are reasons why someone would try to take advantage of the situation to steal and profit.
2405  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BETCRYPTO.CR SCAM! on: May 05, 2023, 06:20:06 PM
Speaking from experience?  Grin
No, luckily not. I never had something as severe as that happen to me nor did I cause it and got away. Wink

Well depends if the speed limit is over 100 km/h in that area. Then its just a red light not speeding.
Remember, it's traffic lights and crossroads. You don't drive at those speeds in those conditions. But enough with the traffic symbolism.
I think OP tried to cheat, and I don't buy his story that his "friend" sent him some BTC from the same casino and told him to play there. Whether or not his cheating attempt was financially worth it, doesn't matter. Hopefully it will be a wakeup call to play fairly from now on, or he will just change it up a bit and continue in the same way.
2406  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BETCRYPTO.CR SCAM! on: May 05, 2023, 01:51:45 PM
Well in that case I guess it not so clear. But definitely a person who joins an online gambling site expects a ceratin degree of freedom to play with accounts and such.
Who doasent have several accounts on various websites?

My opinion is , if he is profited and brake rules then take his money. If he lost money atleast return some of it.
Bonus abuse is a big no-go for all online casinos. It's called a Welcome Bonus for a reason. They welcome you as a person the first time you arrive. They give you a 1st deposit bonus only the first time you deposit. A 2nd deposit bonus when you deposit a second time, etc. You can't be welcomed 10 times and receive 10 1st deposit bonuses. That's cheating and should be punished. A slap on the wrist isn't enough. That's just an invitation to try it again. Harsher punishments are needed.

Compare it to what happens on the streets.
If you drive a red light 100 km/h and the police give you a $20 ticket, you aren't going to take it seriously. When you lose your license for a few months and get a hefty fine, you'll be more careful next time.
2407  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Coinplay CONFISCATING 291mbtc of fair NBA winnings on: May 05, 2023, 01:41:07 PM
BitcoinGirl.Club, I am sorry, but I am asking why you think the whole story was not said. CoinPlay did not trigger KYC to GekkeBelg, and he did not have to do anything with the KYC and its related things like where he is from or similar info. Since he wasn't triggered for KYC, Sharing where he is from and where he is living is irrelevant. I feel like it was unnecessary to share those details. Everyone has their opinion, and I respect your opinion as well. But I am asking you because I Trust only three users' Judgments, and you are one of them. Do you see anything suspicious here? Help me figure out what makes you think the player is abusive and why the whole story was not said.
To be fair, it wasn't BitcoinGirl.Club that mentioned OP being Dutch. It was me after seeing the latest screenshot they posted that had both German and Dutch text. I know that Netherlands, together with countries like France, the UK, USA, and some others are generally restricted territories on Curacao licenses. BitcoinGirl.Club might have just acted on that information.

I haven't followed the developments of this case from the beginning to confidently pass judgement.
2408  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: May 05, 2023, 01:23:38 PM

Kako lijepo formulisana misao u pičku materinu.  Grin Ovo 'elegantiniji' daje poseban šmek.
2409  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BETCRYPTO.CR SCAM! on: May 04, 2023, 07:09:47 PM
OK, the bitcoin addresses are connected, there is no doubt about that. As the player says, he could have received or bought the coins from someone else who also played on the same casino. Theoretically, it's possible. Personally, I don't think that's what happened. Only a few hours after one withdrawal from Betcrypto, the coins move to a different address that deposits on the same casino. I don't believe that story and I don't think it's a coincidence.

@Betcrypto.cr, @Little Mouse
Thanks for the clarification.
2410  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BETCRYPTO.CR SCAM! on: May 04, 2023, 06:23:18 PM
This user abused our welcome bonus system we sent the proof to Litte_mouse and he agree with us

Please admins close this thread we can also share the proof with you
Admins aren't going to close the thread, and this situation hasn't been solved. I don't see any posts by Little Mouse where he states that OP is a multi-account abuser and that you were correct to close his account due to bonus abuse. Maybe that is yet to come. Besides, how do we know the evidence isn't fabricated to have Little Mouse and everyone else believe what you want them to believe?

Little Mouse is trusted enough, but how would he recognize a fabrication if there is one?

@Little Mouse, in what form is this evidence the casino gave you?
2411  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Coinplay CONFISCATING 291mbtc of fair NBA winnings on: May 04, 2023, 06:04:11 PM
<Snip>
Where are you from btw? Your email is in German, but your PC's local language seems to be in Dutch. "Deels bewolkt" isn't German, it's Dutch and means partially cloudy. According to Coinplay TOS, players from the Netherlands and its territories are restricted from playing on Coinplay. I am not sure if that has anything to do with the problems you are experiencing. When they mentioned multiple accounts, you might have used VPNs (the same ones other players used) to bypass that geographical restriction.

Obviously, you aren't going to admin if that is the case, and I am not accusing you. It's just an observation I made based on the screenshot you posted and what the casino's TOS says. But none of that explains the horrible way Coinplay has decided to deal with this situation.
2412  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: May 04, 2023, 05:48:14 PM
2413  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Show off your hardware wallet on: May 04, 2023, 05:38:12 PM
I certainly will never be using it.  But I was hoping that someone here had used it before or at least knew of it.
I don't think you will have much luck in that department. When Google struggles finding any newsworthy information about it, I doubt you will find people with any experience with that particular brand on the forum. It's worth a try though.
Maybe you can send it to hardware hacker Joe Grand and have him work on it trying to break it and check it for vulnerabilities.

I've got a few other wallets I use or have used yet to post, will do when I get a chance to dig them up.
Sure. I am interested in what else you have, especially if it's something I have never seen before like this Crypto Guard thingy.
2414  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Coinplay CONFISCATING 291mbtc of fair NBA winnings on: May 03, 2023, 06:13:02 PM
If I am not wrong, all the accounts you mentioned in this thread are sold now. Regarding their reputation, yeah. They did not try to defend their back. They just accepted and left. But, Did you get that their casino representative is unfamiliar with the forum environment and doesn't know much about the forum system? Who would buy such accounts to oppose the flags? They don't know how it works. I see this as an attempt to save their reputation in a dirty way.
Maybe the accounts were bought long time ago and never used. Just lying there idle waiting on a reason to wake up. Maybe they aren't owned by Coinplay at all but some farm that contacted them and offered to oppose the flags for money. Maybe Coinplay runs many other casinos or Bitcointalk accounts and has numerous alt accounts they can use for various reasons. There are many possibilities. The only thing that is certain is that their opposition to the flags means absolutely nothing to their visibility. Wasted effort that could have been better spent on not cheating their players.
2415  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hacker moved coins from my wallet on: May 03, 2023, 05:52:13 PM
Why anyone who deals in crypto would continue to trust pirated software is a mystery to me.  Especially just to get MS Office and Photoshop!  If you must have Office for business purposes and your business can't afford to fork out the $100 for an annual subscription, you're doing it wrong.  Or just use LibreOffice and be done with it.  And for most of us GIMP is a decent enough replacement for Photoshop.  With all the open source free software available these days, there's only risk and very little reward in the use of pirated software.
People like free stuff and not paying for software, that's why. Netflix isn't expensive, but even if it were $2, many wouldn't want to pay if they can download the show or movie they want as a torrent.

I don't know how good LibreOffice is, as I never tried it. I doubt GIMP can offer nearly the same that Photoshop can. Just use a separate device for less-safe software that is pirated or cracked if you must use it. Keep it off your computer where you work with crypto, private keys, financial data, and other personal stuff.
2416  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: AI voice replicating scams on: May 03, 2023, 05:42:57 PM
The AI technology has gone too far and evil mind people are using it to scam people. I wonder if one day, these scammers may use deepfake videos to scam people
Youtube already has plenty of these. It's going to become a problem if they figure out how to fake a person in a live video call. As long as you can call the person who has to show their real face, it's still ok.

Also, when you get a threatening call, these people won't give you a chance to hang up the phone call and confirm things. They just create such a panic that you feel that if you do not react quickly and agree on their demands, you might end up losing the life of your near and dear ones. So these people will demand an instant transfer of money.
This isn't such a situation. This particular scam is not about hostages and demanding money to save the life of a family member. The scammers pretend they are the family member who is in urgent need of money. And that can luckily be verified in a number of ways like I explained above.

Question: Where do people think the criminals are getting the initial voice sound/wavelengths from in order to be able to replicate it with AI?

My hunch: Big Tech/Social media.
Social media, of course. People post everything about their lives on Facebook, Instagram, and the rest. I don't think it will change in the future, making it even easier to get someone's voice and looks for free.

AI is created and being developed to help many industries to ease the job of their workers and to help industries to reach their goal of maximizing their potential...
It's being developed to replace you, me, and the rest of the humans who demand wages, pension, benefits, and time off. Robots and AI don't need anything. One engineer who can operate it and give it commends suffices.
2417  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: AI voice replicating scams on: May 02, 2023, 06:55:02 PM
This is the first time I hear about this type of voice scam. I wonder how much audio the AI would need to be able to create a fake voice recording?
Still, unless you are an older citizen, this shouldn't be something you should worry about. If someone calls you pretending to be a family member, hang up and call them to verify what's going on. If you are still in doubt, ask them questions only those close to you would know. It can be anything you two have witnessed, lived through, spoken about, etc.
A scammer won't know those answers.
2418  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Telegram wannabe scammers contacting me through bitcointalk on: May 02, 2023, 06:42:54 PM
I want to be able to receive messages from people I did not add yet because sometimes that’s necessary.
If someone is willing to communicate with you on Telegram, they will PM you on the forum and tell you their Telegram ID. That way you know who you are talking to. Keep your contact details for yourself to avoid situations like the one you just experienced. Even if someone contacts you on Telegram and says, I am X from Bitcointalk, wouldn't you confirm you are talking to the real person? Would you not ask to have the person PM you over the forum as proof they are legit? You might as well save yourself some time and do it the right way from the start.
2419  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: May 02, 2023, 01:48:13 PM
Ti si vec neko vreme u toj kampanji, pa me interesuje tvoje  misljenje.

Grin

I haven't use Windows in a long time, so I have to ask: is this "normal"? I would expect to use antivirus software as an absolute last resort, and wipe the system the moment it finds something. You make it sound as if it finds and quarantines malware on a regular basis.
If you use cracked software and key generators, the AV will from time to time detect it as malware, quarantine it, and ask what you want to do next. You then have the option to allow the file back on the device, delete it, or keep it quarantined. A perfect example of that are the cracks that come with Microsoft Office products that many people use. The same thing can happen with Photoshop.
