2401  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: July 29, 2022, 09:04:11 PM
2. There are simply too many TLDs to buy them all. Phishing sites will always be possible, regardless. Even if they buy all the TLDs, the attacker can simply create a phishing site on rooobet(.)com, roobeet(.)com, or something like that, or the attacker can even use Unicode instead of ASCII to mimic a real domain name.
Yes, they are so many. I am not saying Roobet team should buy all of them off. Just a few that could easily trick users like that one of .io

For example, Roobet.io is listed as one of sites to have purchased a non-distributable copy of the previous version of bustabit's source code. I believe they wanted to say roobet.com

I see what you mean. There is no doubt that .IO is popular top-level domain in the online gambling industry, so it is understandable that this could cause confusion. This is probably the reason somebody bought it and is now trying to resell it to make a profit. Let's just hope he doesn't turn it into a phishing site.
2402  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the US economy in recession? on: July 29, 2022, 06:04:39 PM
According to Investopedia, a recession is a significant, widespread, and prolonged downturn in economic activity. The term is typically used to describe a cycle that goes on for six months or more and lasts at least two quarters. In light of the Commerce Department's announcement that GDP declined by 0.9% in the second quarter, a second consecutive quarter of contraction, many are declaring the U.S. economy in recession. But, is it really? I don't think it's that simple.
2403  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Investigation] Mam009 and Sakib0175 bounty cheaters. on: July 29, 2022, 04:38:52 PM
The evidence seems to be solid and verified. As a result, both accounts have been tagged for cheating on bounty campaigns.
Nice investigation, @Cantsay!

After sending the PM to the bounty managers I noticed some warning, is it because newbies ain't allowed to send pm?

There is nothing wrong with your PM. It's just a warning.
You are free to send PMs unless the recipient disables them for newbie accounts, in which case, you will get a different message.
2404  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: [VELIKA LISTA] Hardverski novčanici (80+) on: July 29, 2022, 03:49:28 PM
FatFork može jedna mala dopuna za ovaj Hito hardverski novčanik.

Ažurirao sam podatke o Hito novčaniku i dodao cijenu uređaja i druge informacije.

Stvarno glupo.
2405  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: July 29, 2022, 02:19:04 PM
i tried to be member.. i saw , there is adress info on witdrawal section.. this is not good for bitcointalk gamblers

You may not know this, but there are many casinos on the market today that don't yet require any personal information from their players. Or at least, they ask for identification only when withdrawing large sums of money. This means that you still have a lot of choices, but if you decide to play with Roobet, you will have to comply with KYC procedures. It is important to know, however, that Level 1 KYC is usually sufficient, which means only basic personal information is required.
2406  Economy / Reputation / Re: I would like to address my negative trust feedback and apologise on: July 29, 2022, 01:10:06 PM
Isn't it important what bustabit has to say here?

You may have missed the fact that @devans already tagged their account and commented on this a month ago.

Thanks to both of you for bringing them to my attention. Both LuckyBust and 8bethub are obviously plagiarizing bustabit.com and bustadice.com including some of our code, sometimes in pretty hilarious ways. For example, LuckyBust didn't even bother to change the name of bustabit's operating company (Apis N.V.) when they copied our terms of service 🤦‍♂️

I've left 8betbust an appropriate trust rating on bitcointalk.org and I'll add both websites to bustabit's license.txt file. Apart from that all we can do is try to warn players of shady operators like that.

I would want bustabit bustadice team to check the case again.

Why do you think bustabit should check the case again? Although the casino can continue to operate and build their reputation from here, it doesn't change the fact that they started out in an unethical manner. It should serve as a learning experience for everyone involved and a reminder that reputation matters a great deal, and you don't want to screw it up. Especially if you're just starting out.
2407  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source observations on: July 29, 2022, 10:47:16 AM
I would rather pass it to someone with more team spirit.

I usually call such merit sources merit abusers. Nothing personal.

I disagree. How is that merit abusing? Everyone, including merit sources, has the right to decide on their own where their merits should go. I also prefer to award merit-worthy posts from members who pass them along rather than hoarding them. I am not saying that this is an exclusive rule, but if I have time, I will check their merit summary.
2408  Other / Meta / Re: Why are there no official moderators for Other? on: July 29, 2022, 10:09:11 AM
Just like Mbitr said. It's my experience that all (the vast majority) of my reports from the "Other" section of the forum are handled. Whether by global moderators or staff. As long as that is the case, I don't mind if these boards don't have dedicated moderators.
2409  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: July 29, 2022, 09:04:35 AM
My question is;
1. Was Roobet.io ever used by Roobet casino before the decided to settle for Roobet.com?
2. If not, why not buy off that other domain (roobet.io) so that phishing scammers don't buy it and take advantage?

1. As I recall, Roobet casino started in 2019, and absolutely-positioned created this topic on November 08, 2019. However, roobet(.)io domain was registered in 2021, so I doubt it had ever been used by Roobet casino.

2410  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | Earn up to 50% rakeback | VIP | on: July 29, 2022, 08:37:59 AM
exactly
and we all probably agree here that Duelbits is always fast to answer accusations and never had any big issue they ignored

it's really important that users read the terms of service before using a website as well
Some users ignore the terms of casino and loose money after that but they will not accept this reality and start blaming the casino with scam accusations. But we have seen duelbits being responsive in these matters and solve the cases of withdrawal as soon possible from them.

This is indeed a serious issue if this is happening a lot and if it affects a large number of gamblers. I think that this is where we may find the cause of the problem. If there are too many complaints about the service, then the casino must take a look at it and make sure that the complaints don’t have an impact on their rating.

Multiple complaints are always a red flag and that’s something that cannot be ignored. It might be their Terms of Service are too vague or not justifiable. It could also be that the casino is too slow to respond or offers poor customer service. This might be the case and that’s where the consumer goes from complaining to blaming the casino with scam accusations, and thus, damaging the reputation of the casino.
2411  Economy / Gambling / Re: My list of good crypto casinos on: July 29, 2022, 08:17:47 AM
I've genuinely asked your opinion but not purely on the casinos but as an article including the text under the list because however, I own and use cryptos I'm not a crypto buff.
I feel the forum member's hostility is undeserved...or...maybe deserved because asking here opinion about these "unknown casinos" is like asking opinion on pulled pork in a vegan forum

If you genuinely asked for opinions, accepting honest and well-intended criticism is the least you can do. You don't have to be a dick about it. Or perhaps you only expected compliments and free advertising? I'm sorry to disappoint you, but you might have misunderstood how the internet forums work.

By the way, learn how to quote and use the forum properly.
2412  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Watford Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: July 29, 2022, 07:40:43 AM
Can someone here help me out with this link – https://stake.com/casino/group/stake-games

No matter how many times I have refreshed by browser, some error keeps coming up.

I just want to confirm if it's a general problem or just my network/browser

It seems to be a general problem. That URL doesn't work for me either.

As @seleme already mentioned, they seem to have changed the URLs leading to certain groups of games. The new URL is: https://stake.com/casino/group/stake-originals
2413  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Data Entry Problem on: July 28, 2022, 11:30:27 PM
I am having trouble using an Android to send the proper data to begin buying/selling Bitcoin. Is there a way to get them my personal info by email directly from my pc? If so, please post. Thank you! HCN

This is a vague question that is difficult to answer. What kind of data are you talking about and who are "they"?
Please try to be more specific.
2414  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Insert Quote vs Source links on: July 28, 2022, 08:33:38 PM
Thanks for the links and tips! I seem know how to use this two things.

There is actually one another method that no one has mentioned yet. You can put both the author and the clickable source link in your quotes, like this:

Quote from: Greg Walker
Bitcoin is an electronic payment system created in 2009. It allows you to send money to anyone in the world, and you don’t need to ask anyone’s permission to create an account

2415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be transferred from hardware wallet to paper over radio? on: July 28, 2022, 08:14:59 PM
Would sending Bitcoin from your Ledger hardware wallet to a paper wallet over HAM radio submit the transaction to the Bitcoin network?

To put it simply, yes you can. A Bitcoin transaction is nothing more than a piece of digital information like any other. If you can send and receive information via HAM radio from/to the Internet, then you can do the same with Bitcoin transactions. However, whenever you transmit information about a signed Bitcoin transaction, someone on the receiving end must have a HAM radio connected to the Internet to be able to broadcast your transaction to the Bitcoin network.
2416  Economy / Reputation / Re: Mycelium Wallet Promoting Scam Bookies 1xbit.com on: July 28, 2022, 07:47:42 PM
It's now clear they are doing massive promotion from 1xbet in the main stream media but in the online media they are promoting 1xbit, They do not care about the reputation since 1xbit is completely de-touched from 1xBet. It's obvious now 1xBet is legally operating with a license otherwise they could not promote in the mainstream media. The victims from 1xBit can use the evidence of connection and call out 1xBit.

Yes, they could. But a civil lawsuit of this nature instigated by a private party would be very expensive, and none of the scammed players are likely to pursue it. As a result, 1xBit can continue to scam their users for hundreds, even thousands, of dollars without fear, because they know they are practically above the law.

It's actually a tragicomic. For a company to proudly proclaim their "protected by law" status, one would think that at least a basic legally required information would be provided, such as contact information, incorporation name, legal jurisdiction, or anything of the sort that a business entity should have readily available. Yet, none of this has been provided by 1xBit. That fact alone is blatantly illegal.
2417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most BTC you've spent on something? on: July 28, 2022, 05:49:51 PM
Among the things I bought with bitcoins, my car was my most expensive purchase. Unfortunately, I spent most of my bitcoins on gambling.
I'm not sure if gambling falls under consumer services, though.  Wink
2418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi is not dead, what is he doing? on: July 28, 2022, 04:09:14 PM
<cut>
Wouldn’t you from time to time come back with another account, to make shure all goes the right way with the future development?

How exactly would he make sure that everything is going the right way in terms of Bitcoin development, even if he has an alt account here? No single entity has such power in a decentralized system that everybody contributes to, especially one that has many independent developers and thousands of independent nodes all across the globe.
2419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Stolen Bitcoin Be Recovered on: July 28, 2022, 02:22:32 PM
Do you mean the funds can only be traced if the thieves make a mistake of sending it to a centralized exchange?
Also, does this means if the funds is not sent to a centralized exchange but moved to another personal wallet it can never be traced as far as the funds remains in such wallet??

Tracing coins is possible, but identifying the perpetrator relies on the fact that the coins are sent to a centralized exchange or another online service, where the perpetrator has left at least some trace of his personal identity. It is even possible to use the IP address to identify the owner of the wallet, but this is not possible if the coins remain on a decentralized, non-custodial wallets.
2420  Other / Meta / Re: Would you be interested in promoting Bitcoin projects/services for free? on: July 28, 2022, 01:47:49 PM
As long as I am not already involved in a running campaign, I am interested in taking part, so please put me down as "depending on availability" as well.

First of all, I wish to thank you Sir Pmalek ...

As far as I know, Pmalek hasn't yet been knighted by the Queen, so there's no need to address him as "Sir".  Grin
