Ngzang,
When you do start to accept wire payments please drop a note here also. If some mails are lost or whatever we will contact Guo,Yifu. I do not see a reason to start spamming him right now as long order mail says

you'll receive an email with instructions following your orders confirmation regarding the payment.

Thank You!

Ordering Issues

DNS - Due to some unexpected issues, we understand a lot of people are unable to place orders, to quickly address the issue we have removed 100 units from the pre-order website to relaunch as a second wave of pre-orders in case you are currently unable to load the website. The second-wave date will be announced shortly.

Wire Transfers - We are currently overwhelmed with keeping the site operational, once the order have calm down a bit we will begin the process the wire transfers, once you have received the appropriate information for the wire transfer you have 4 days to complete said wire until the order is canceled.

So even if you did not get a chance to order one in the second wave there is still a possibility somebody will not pay up and complete the order.

Wire Transfers - What do you mean by 4 days?

To get money in your account or to get a proof of transfer - Swift? For instance if i have to make "fast wire transfer" i will have to spent almost 100 USD just for the bank fees. Can this be avoided?
Keep in mind even though transfers happen over "Wire" during weekends nothing has been  transfered at all

Is there any way to reserve a unit without paying attention to this thread for the next 24 hours? Please reserve one for me. This is my place holder. You ok with that?

Doc,
I did check the RollN header with eligus mining pool. What i can tell you that my tcpdump is OK and i am geting it and I can see it from eligus. Miner.php shows it also. I am quite sure that your poll does not send it for some reason. Can i do something more to help you out to trace that issue?
I have restarted cgminer to be able to zero the rejects and test eligus pool. Now i am back to bitminter:9000 i will keep you noted about their count
Best.

PS: Can you put a hook in your code where RollN header has been sent and count it? So you can see if it is working and that header is sent to all of us

OK Doc.
I trust you:)
But i have so many rejects which was not happening when mining withoot roll-ntime enabled port 8332. Rejects Where < 0.03 % Now i see Rejected    593 (14.37%) at port 9000. Could be caused because you are restarting service now and then or there is other issue involved?
Anyway i will continue to mine with roolntime enabled tonight and will wait for your feedback on rejects

Ok..I thought so. But as you can see from the tcpdump  The server never includes an X-Roll-NTime header to give rollable work.

sudo tcpdump -tqunvXei eth1 | grep Roll
tcpdump: listening on eth1, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 65535 bytes

Nothing happens no X-Roll-NTime Header

What about doing same simple tcpdump check on your server and you will see if it sends X-Roll-NTime or not?

Here is cgminer request from tcpdump

I do not think so....
My hash rate is about 11442.0 Mh/s (compared to top guy's it is low for sure) and current efficiency was (copy pasting just killed my screen:))

Doc,
I do not know either:) Just for the reference.... Don't ask what does it mean. I guess it is something specific to the protocol and headers revived from the pool:

in cgminer util.c
 if (!strcasecmp("X-Roll-Ntime", key)) {
                hi->hadrolltime = true;
                if (!strncasecmp("N", val, 1))
                        applog(LOG_DEBUG, "X-Roll-Ntime: N found");
                else {
                        hi->canroll = true;

                        /* Check to see if expire= is supported and if not, set
                         * the rolltime to the default scantime */
                        if (strlen(val) > 7 && !strncasecmp("expire=", val, 7)) {
                                sscanf(val + 7, "%d", &hi->rolltime);
                                hi->hadexpire = true;
                        } else
                                hi->rolltime = opt_scantime;
                        applog(LOG_DEBUG, "X-Roll-Ntime expiry set to %d", hi->rolltime);
                }
        }

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Getwork

Iff the getwork response includes a "X-Roll-NTime" header with any value other than "N" or the null string, the miner may (within reason) change the ntime field in addition to the nonce. The server may send a value of "expire=<N>", where <N> is an integer number of seconds it is willing to accept the other headers for. Note that if the "X-Roll-NTime" header is NOT present in a work response, that work may NOT be rolled, even if earlier work from the same server allowed it. Also note that the headers of a share submission should not influence the behaviour of work-- specifically, if a share submit does not have the header, it should not disable rollntime for the current work (which did).

Thanks Doc. I fired cgminer 2.7.5 latest git code a couple of mins ago
My Efficiency is constantly increasing >1000% now which means that it is working
However:

1. miner.php - stats all to false
Work Had Roll Time   Work Can Roll   Work Had Expire   Work Roll Time
false   false   false   0

Doc,
I am aware of the recent pool hardware issues which did cause a delay in software development. As you said before Roll-ntime was ready to go but there were some issues with different clients. Is it possible to enable it only for "good miners or per account/login" so we can test  it? I am using cgminer and i can PM my username if you need it

It's China dude.  You can hire people to assemble and solder boards 12 hours a day 7 days a week for $200 or less a month by the tens of thousands.

----------------------------------------

Quite true but I know that China can buy and sell our ass hundreds of times:) It is just a matter of time this to happen. Back to the topic - I do not think that they can hire qualified people for 200 even in China. As far as i know 200 USD workers are something like "freelancers". They are farmers and are coming to the factory on a project base. What they do is farming mostly. I personally do not like the idea my ASIC to be soldered by farmer who had a good sleep a month ago, with eyes semi closed thinking about cows, chickens rise or whatever is left in the farm and so on..what about you? But as i said despite of hardware assembling itself..Their know-how is the bitstream or whatever it is called if such thing exists for ASICS and believe me they WILL NEVER outsource  it. What i mean is that in any case they will have to do some of the work by themselves... Or at least testing ...

2416  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: "Avalon" ASIC mining machine, announcement & pre-order start. update:9/19 on: September 20, 2012, 07:18:04 PM
I am very much considering cancelling my BFL pre-order and going with yours in light of all the bad press that BFL has gotten lately. I just wished you could get them sooner, as by the time they will ship, the payout would have dropped, and the difficulty will be insane, stretching the ROI on one of your units.

Or you could, instead of cancelling your order, sell your order number to somebody who wants a smaller order number than one would get if ordering now.

I just can not imagine how do people believe that 20 employes including management with a nice looking old woman soldering singles working in a small place will assemble and even test 8000+ orders and catch up with promised delivery time. It is not making any sense for me having in mind that testing process will take a LOOT of time if you know what i mean...
Let us say they will outsource hardware assembling. I am quite sure that they will do testing by themselves for obvious reasons.. The math is 8000/20=400 units per person. ASICS probably shall be flashed in a first place which costs time. Each test shall continue at least 24 hours (amusing they were not be able to fire all 400 units at once) which makes about ...i do not even want to calculate it
Any way everybody takes own decision...

Ngzang,

Can you consider the option only ASIC PCB to be available for ordering. I am asking this because I already have PC xubuntu 12.04 with 6 free PCI slots. I prefer instead of having all in a box solution to plug the board in my pc install drivers and go for mining. This will save a lot of space for us. Having 200W more power consumption is not an issue for me. And second question. Will the ASIC board have molex for external power supply? Imagine a Single PC with 6 boards or rack with 6 pc's:)

Will all that be possible at all?
Probably if ordering ASIC PCB only will cut the price also?

Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing, just slap them on a PCI card. There may be the problem of heat dissipation though Smiley

It is same if they are in ngzang embedded system or in our Pc. We need to solve it somehow probably do it your self. If the boards are PCI and do have external power supply  - the must have one..You know the GPU story extender, mount them outside pc + additional coolers and we are good to go

I am the only one that has an issue with parking 1300 dollars somewhere without a product for 6 months it seems.

No you're not. It is risky, no doubt about that. It might pay off nicely, or it might not. If you can't afford to lose the money then don't do it.
+1

You can be sure that ngzang is honest guy and he keeps his promises. Other option is probably to try BFL and there is a big chance for you never to see your ASIC and your money also:)

Betting on Avalon is safe in terms that you either will get ASIC (in case we reach 300 pcs preorder amount) or your money back to the last cent - coin.
