Well both teams were using makeshift defensive players so am not surprised the score was that ways. Most of the goals were as a result of avoidable defensive errors. I don't know If I am just delusional, but I think Manchester City just gave Real Madrid a chance to go through onto the Final.

Yeah, the same mistake Chelsea and PSG made, both teams gave Real Madrid a ticket to the next round. Real Madrid were not the better team in each of those games, but individual defensive errors were the reason they are in the semifinals. Manchester City made the same mistake yesterday, with Benzima's second goal and the Pk both coming from defensive errors. I wouldn't be surprised if Manchester City squandered their chances in the second leg. I cannot shake the feeling that Chelsea and PSG both somehow underestimated Real Madrid in the Champions League, otherwise they would have won against Madrid. A lot of people expected Real Madrid to not reach this stage of the competition, But Real Madrid proves them wrong. It's true that Real Madrid was helped by some mistakes made by their opponents but they truly deserved it. and now Real Madrid is one goal behind after the first leg against Manchester City so it will be interesting to see if they can overcome the deficit in the second leg. |
