2421  Economy / Economics / Re: How much food can you store for survival?3 on: July 29, 2022, 08:45:56 PM
People's answer will vary from person to person depending on their location and how things are, I will give an answer based on my location and the current situation of things. To survive for a long time in Nigeria there are some essentials that you must consider, we usually have personal boreholes and do not depend on the government for water supply as well as gas for cooking, Electricity has never been constant so PMS in drums(if possible) is a must have to power your borehole most importantly first. If you plan surviving for a long time keeping foodstuffs that need refrigerating or be kept frozen may be a bad idea as it will mean that you PMS is at the risk of finishing faster. Keeping grains, cereals, tubers and lots of processed products plus enough of the things needed for the grains to be edible is what is adviced.

I say this having experienced a very serious total lockdown for over twenty five days alone on my own.
2422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 year of accepting crypto payment in my fashion store on: July 29, 2022, 08:03:34 PM
I will show you how I operate and also how you can accept crypto payments as a small business owner.

Thank you so much for sharing, this is definitely a useful information for all those vendors here who have been considering implementing crypto payments into their business but didn't know exactly how to run it effectively. it's very nice of you to share, you will be surprised how helpful this information you may consider little can go in increasing the amount of business owners that will add crypto as a form of payment. It all starts from one person here and then that one person tells another who in turn tells another person who maybe is not a member of forum. Nice one OP.
2423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally - My first BTC Physical Buy!!! on: July 29, 2022, 01:46:02 PM
Arriving at a section of the market where pre-owned gadgets are mostly sold, some sellers approach me and i told them am looking to buy a dell which they all have and i now said i am only paying in btc and they suddenly stop trying to get my attention, some of them said that "online money the government has banned"? nobody will sell for btc in this market, the rest ask what is btc? so i tried to explain just a bit to those who have not heard about btc what btc is but i was unsuccessful to convince them to accept btc. it is either fiat or nothing.
That is a market place, where most of all those vendors must have met dubious individuals who may be have done fake transfers for them or someone they know so it is usually very scary for them to accept something they don't know as an exchange for goods they have. If i was in their shoes, I will exercise some skepticism as well if someone walks up to me offering to give me bitcoins for my goods. Also you have to understand that some are there to stack up money to be able to continue business, anything that is not cash seems a difficult process for them. You were lucky to have found someone to accept your bitcoins, but for ease next time only approach a vendor that clearly puts out a notice that they accept bitcoins if your intentions is to pay in bitcoins. Don't go around offering to pay for goods with crypto, it seems dubious.

I think they know they are not a contender this season. They may aim at top four which is still very hard to finish for Chelsea.
Don't be quick to write the blues off, the team has always been one with a fighting spirit. They had a fairly good team with quality last season, they just needed some more inclusions and options here and there. Raheem Sterling from Manchester City has joined them, he should at least count for something and Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli. I still expect Chelsea to get another big experienced player soon though before the transfer window closes. Also, i think tuchel has had more time with the team and it is going to have a visible effect on the quality of play and their delivery of tactics and strategy from the players in the team.

Elon Musk na really Human?
building a hotel in Mars Set to Launched by 2025 but not certain.
If they are already thinking about launching a hotel there, it also points that Elon and his team or others are already developing methods for people to be able to easily shuttle between Mars and Earth that is transportation. BUJU sing say "if you nor get money e dey kill idea", Elon get idea, cun get money to push am...na why e be like say na him dey think well well pass, but apart from the thinking, money still follow.

Binance added 21 banks across the African continent; however, 12 or 57% of those banks are Nigerian banks which include.
This matter dey make me reason abeg, shey the way e dey be before be like say Nigerian government been nor want any doings betweens banks and crypto. This one wey binance dey call their name, sheybi e nor go worry?
2426  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Insert Quote vs Source links on: July 28, 2022, 07:25:53 PM
but is there any difference?

It is best you always use the two if possible because of your readers. Whenever I go through a post and see a quoted sentence or paragraph, I usually take it to mean that that is what the writer is trying to point out for whatever purpose of the discussion. For persons like myself that like to read further to really understand what a writer who is quoting someone is trying to express, it is proper to include a link for extensive reading.

It aids reading/understanding and engagement to your post plus it will cost you nothing to do it.

But are these people wondering if the cryptocurrencies they see as diversification will still be in their top 10 spots in, say, 3 years?
After a lot of experience in the market and how i have lost money on plenty diversification, some of the things that I have learnt are;

- Diversification can be good and can also be bad. If you choose to diversify your cryptocurrency investment before you can accommodate it, your money may be swallowed up or reduced in the process of being invested in speculated cryptocurrencies that they told you will last the test of time.

-You can diversify in crypto for the short-term, but for long-term investments in cryptocurrency, bitcoin should be your number one choice always.

- If you must diversify your investment, don't over do it. Pick one or two other coins in addition to BTC and be content. Buying over 10 cryptocurrency may do you no good.
2428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Infographics] Does Football Betting Pay Off? on: July 28, 2022, 06:42:12 PM
This is a complete departure from what would be a scientific study, as people tend to exaggerate their winnings and minimize or hide gambling losses, which means that these data are not reliable.
I also find this data unreliable and with the potential to be misleading, because if people say betting has paid them that is they have made profit from it, how much really have they made? Can they really beta their chest and say the amount altogether is substantial enough to say that they are making profit or the winnings they have made are just little little compensations for the massive losses they have made. IMO this data should have included benchmark amount that can be generally accepted as profitable.

I didn't see any African country on the selected list however I'd like to say that my country has a very high interest in football and roughly I can say majority of sports bettors bet on it. There are regular and many stories of how people have earned substantial sums from it, hence many people around me including myself bet regularly/occasionally... So yes football betting can pay off.
2429  Economy / Economics / Re: (over)population - doomsters vs boomsters on: July 28, 2022, 12:27:53 PM
Although I think that as all societies develop, this will reach a peak and will start to decrease, because in developed countries people have fewer children. Hopefully at some point this will happen worldwide and humans will put less pressure on the planet's resources.
I agree with this point of view, in my country for instance, people formerly used marry many wife's and have many children for the purpose of Labour which was important for survival then as more children meant more efficiency in the farmland, fetching water and firewood faster as well than a small family, that old thinking often has caused many people to have too many kids than they can take care of...but currently due to more development entering those rural communities, no need to keep a big family for labour and development has replaced fetching firewood with electricity and fetching water with boreholes... Development has also introduced complexities and affected the economic situation and made it more difficult for raising many children, as a result of this you advice yourself to give birth to a number of children that they can properly take care of.

As more places become developed it will affect the mindset of people as regards giving birth to many children, it will also make some places that were formerly uninhabitable to be inhabitable through technology and more persons will migrate to such areas thus balancing the population all round.
2430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi is not dead, what is he doing? on: July 27, 2022, 10:02:03 PM
What is he doing these days? It is really unlikely that he never ever came back to the forum again, just to read and look at the progress.
Supposing that Satoshi is a "he" first of all, No one has been able to place the correct gender of satoshi or even if it's a group. Not that his current activities should be of any concern to us, but certainly Satoshi is not idol, to think of it, Satoshi may still very much be in observation of bitcoins from a distance, it is difficult, i think impossible to create something as innovative as bitcoins and just abandon it without keeping watch or checking on it once in a while.

Germany - France is now 2-1
And that's of course how it ended. A very solid performance from both Germany and France, the French team looked like they were going to stop the Germans from getting to the finals again but their attempt failed. England the host will have to sit up and put up a better performance against Germany who clearly have more experience at the final stages than any other team in the competition. Alexandra Popp played brilliantly again today, It will be another battle between her and Beth Mead for the golden boot in the finals. If Germany wins, it will be their 9th title.

Morocco vs. South Africa(1-2) WAFCON finals.
Big congratulations to the South African side, I watched on TV and saw how well they were welcomed back home as heroes, a very big win for them after so many failed attempts. The referee Salima Mukansanga deserves big commendation for being solid with her decisions throughout regardless of Morocco's obvious tactics to get a penalty in the game. The South African team including all other countries like Nigeria that qualified to represent Africa in the women's world cup will have to do an extra job of preparing hard because the women from other continents like Europe who are currently competiting for the Euro cup play so well, almost like their male sides.

You should have added this to the list of keys of people to know that people in as much as it is adviced to be a part of a community should avoid being members of those community that encourage them to subscribe for signals weekly or monthly as it is not sustainable. If you must be in a community, it should be a community with free flow of knowledge and the one that encourages you to learn the skill yourself and develop yourself.

The essence of your community involvement will then be to maintain your interest and encourage you to be better.

Their CFO wanted to manage risk and they indeed did made a financial decision in which they think selling bitcoin was the right move to do. In the end, I couldn't care less, and so should you unless you hold their stock.
Exactly! I don't think you should care or continue to care so much about Tesla and Elon musk unless you hold their stock. As far as I am concerned Elon will always do what is best for him and the survival of his companies and you too as an individual should consider and concern yourself with doing what is best for you and your survival financially instead of worrying if Tesla's recent development was in line to raise their trading price.
2436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 27, 2022, 02:12:27 PM
Looks good news for Manchester United fans because they got back Cristiano Ronaldo...
Are we sure it is good news because the new Manchester United team under the management of Erik has showed an improved performance even in the pre-season without Cristiano Ronaldo. It seems to me that they were already moving on and getting used to the squad without Cristiano Ronaldo it gave other players an opportunity in my opinion to step up and show their worth. with Cristiano Ronaldo deciding to stay after a failed attempt at leaving all the players in the club even those who just recently joined and play the same position as he does may begin to doubt that they will have enough playing time before the transfer window closes we may see some other players deciding to leave or go on loan to other clubs from Manchester United.

In other news, Lisandro Martinez has reunited with Erik ten Hag   in a deal worth £56.7 million from Ajax. Manchester United are lucky to have him as Arsenal was also interested.  He is a versatile and solid defender that can stop top attackers, he is surely an asset to Erik, hence his move to have him.

2437  Economy / Economics / Marketing terminology (Does "affordable" & "Cheap" mean the same thing?) on: July 26, 2022, 10:01:23 PM
Business people and marketers need to add more clarity to these terminologies in business which i think are often misunderstood by some customers, that is- one to mean exact same thing as the other.

The terms are "Affordable & Cheap" which vendors often use during marketing.

"Affordable" IMO means that a certain commodity may not be cheap but affordable depending on the financial class of the customer, While "Cheap" simply describes a commodity as affordable to everyone.

Have you ever been in a situation where you misinterpreted a marketer's advertisement that said "Affordable" and then you went ahead to assume it meant "Cheap" only to make inquiry and find out otherwise?
2438  Other / Off-topic / Re: VAR: Has it improved football or has made it worse ?* on: July 26, 2022, 09:01:05 PM
But has it actually made football better or has it added another unnecessary layer of complication to the beautiful game?
The game was becoming more complicated, VAR's introduction was much needed to assist in making and clarifying difficult important and controversial decisions in the sport. Football is still a beautiful game and we need to accept that as technology creeps in into other aspects of our lives, and other sports, the game we all love (football) will & cannot be left out. The technology will get better than it is currently and people who do not accept it now will grow into accepting it.
2439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Women's Euro 2022 on: July 26, 2022, 08:13:00 PM
English women's football has evolved and grown enormously. So they will certainly be able to win this game and reach the final. But of course Sweden won't make it easy, so it could be a very interesting game to watch.
When the game started the Swedish women looked more dangerous in front of goal and most likely to score first but the England team were able to keep their composure and maintain possession enough to get a goal in the first half. The second half is currently on and England have currently doubled their lead. it is safe to say that England have won this game as they look more dominating right now and more likely to score more goals. it is definitely a great performance for the Spectators and the supporters of England the host who have been very vocal.  All the English team needs to do now is to try as much as possible to defend their two-goal lead and ensure that we don't do not even score a goal as there is just some few minutes left.

2440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There will be 1 billion crypto users by 2030 - research on: July 26, 2022, 06:28:27 PM
They discovered that while crypto adoption is still in its early days, the trend is pointing toward one billion users by 2030.
It may exceed the number projected IMO considering that this was projected based on current situations. It says it gets better which i agree and gives a good figure to estimate it, but by my own predictions are that before 2030 a lot of events must have occurred that will promote massive adoptions and change in policy for countries that have strict regulations against it. We see some currently unexpected happenings that are in favour of crypto, some are;
