2421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Crypto Recovery on: January 23, 2023, 08:28:40 PM

So what do you guys think, will a feature like this be possible? At least before quantum computers become ubiquitous? What are your thoughts about this?

But another question that rises is that, if its possible for some techy guys out there to recover lost bitcoins due to forgotten password and the likes, is there no possibility that this guys will one day go hacking peoples wallet?

These guys, if they are genuine, may not run out of market and they'll keep getting jobs, which will take their eyes off hacking people's account. However, the wait is too long, waiting for 1 year to restore the account is weird, because some clients can lose contact with the tech gurus within the 1 year period, so if the account gets recovered the whole money, including the 20% belongs to them. Hence, getting to such a level in programming means building an app that has all the features required to hack into a cryptocurrency account and that could have taken them a long time to build, why would it have to take upto 1 year to accomplish a task? The article looks like a short guest post with lesser information of what and how they can get this problem solved, still the possibility to get this done is thin.
2422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This Smells Like Hypocrisy on: January 23, 2023, 08:09:39 AM
While it's always safe to abide by the rules of any country regarding gambling, we must think of the reasons why the Government chose some particular games over the rest. First, it'll be wrong to remove completely gambling in a country, looking at the way the article sounds, if left for them they'll ban gambling. Second, the two accepted games makes them more profits, by promoting their local games and keeping citizens and tourists entertained in the country. Lastly, no lottery games pays off 100%, some pay out 97% and take 3% of any game played using their machine. So, I'd say that despite how long you play using the lottery games, players will always lose money which will profit the Government. Even those that win big jackpots on the long run would bet the whole winning back into gambling. I think the Government wants to make more money from citizens through gambling at same time rescue addicted players too.
2423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want to be great? Then be ready to learn. on: January 23, 2023, 07:50:38 AM
It's very tough to remember a missed opportunity and getting to accept our mistake is a smart way to begin. We are not only meant to learn, but invest actions too. We cannot live life through reading, we must go out to the society to understand life. What you have done is great, joining the bitcoin community. Here the knowledge which you seek would be given out to you free without paying a dime. While you read the forum, always recall the purpose that brought you here. And put the past to shame, its all gone and nothing wrong with being skeptical. What matters is picking yourself back up to run bitcoin. The opportunity doesn't end, think of a genuine method to earn through bitcoin, and you'll make profits it can only consume time.
2424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice on choosing a crypto casino on: January 20, 2023, 02:02:59 PM
Greetings, esteemed community. Could you help me advise? I've seen a lot of topics on the forum about crypto or bitcoin casinos, but I need clarification on their point. As I understand the crypto casino involves paying in different cryptocurrencies, and the bitcoin casino involves only bitcoins. How to choose a casino, is there a criterion for this, or do you just go to any casino and play? It's a rash move without preparation. Also interested in a payment system, which is recommended to play in such casinos? Or just a suitable crypto wallet? I apologize for my silly questions, but I want to understand everything once and for all.
Well, you're on the right board to ask this so expect a ton of response and of course advices maybe from pro or just a leisure gambler just like me. Choosing a casino is subjective and we have different kind of tastes on how we choose it. Don't just go in a casino especially if they aren't that a reputable one, always DYOR before you even sign up with them. If I were you, choose those casino/s that has lot of options for payment methods.
At most times it is subjective but for me it doesn't have to be. There are telltale signs of a casino being great and that's where I mostly bank on. Sure, tastes could really affect how you would answer OP's questions but this guy is most likely a newbie, I don't think giving him/her your subjective opinion about how to choose a good casino is going to help him. I'm looking at comments from these people giving him circular definitions of things when it could just be plain and simple. They clearly want help, we should give them objective thoughts only and remove bias from the setting.

What's wrong with offering a subjective opinion of what he or she is looking out for, I think the best he should get is what we all experience on daily basis with gambling. If he then finds one interesting, he can take the person's advise, it's why he opened the thread isn't it? Went through his thread and he thinks he made a silly question  yet he has been proven to by the nemerours, quality, useful responses on the thread that his question would be of good help to other new readers. All the responses here to me are top notch and none should be seen as less important. He is an adult, considering he wants to gamble, so picking the right idea won't be a problem.
2425  Other / Meta / Re: Binance pays Google Ads with the word "bitcointalk" on: January 20, 2023, 01:03:03 PM
Interesting, just double-checked it with several VPNs and the ad didn't pop up for locations like the US, France, Italy, Austria or Germany. Maybe they are focussing on the Portugese market to onboard some users from your location?

Interestingly, at this time it no longer appears. Was it some momentary test?  Undecided

Not a momentary test is just that the AdWord ad algorithm differs in so many ways. Maybe your device has been detected for visiting binance or searching for binance on google or even discussing with a friend about binance. For instance, I discovered that after entering my namecheap dashboard I'd see ads relating to namecheap on google or other social media platforms. So, google is working hard to see that they target these ads as accurately as possible, especially for android users. I don't know your Os, but it has been confirmed by some sources that google tapes people's discussions on social media through android phones and they use it to target ads. And to add to the claim the keyword bitcointalk isn't anywhere on the Ad you just shared.
2426  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis allegedlly prepares for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on: January 20, 2023, 12:32:34 PM

Certain percentage probably removed their money after everything that has happened in the recent period, but majority will just continue business as usual. I know people who lost money on both Celsius and FTX and they still are still staking significant amount of money on Binance, being absolutely sure that Binance is safe and nothing will happen. When I asked them can they be really sure that same thing won't happen with Binance, they told me that even if something happens to Binance, prices will go down so much that it won't matter anyway.  Roll Eyes And those people are not newbies at all.

Like you said; your friend doesn't want to take responsibility, same as everyone who uses third party company and the companies are not exempted in this circle. Look at Genesis, they didn't take responsibility of going bankrupt, they have pointed out lots of businesses like; Three arrow capital, FTX and their dispute with gemini, as contributors to their downfall. The issue with these centralized firms is, they don't stay independent. They're all linked to one another such that when one fails a lot more of firms would have a dispute or two. Hence, considering people's trust on Binance exchange, that may not happen, if Binance should file for bankrupcy today, they won't take responsibility for their faults, you'll discover new brands associated to their failure. In a nutshell, these people are like minded both their clients, they want to blame others for losing money in the cryptocurrency market. So, no need to worry about them it's the lane they want to follow.
2427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If I had known on: January 20, 2023, 11:32:26 AM
OP you need to understand that time doesn't make any difference for a determined person. A lot of people in the market are losing their bitcoin on daily basis because they're not determined to hodl their coins. I'd say that your stay here in few months would erased all the blames you have on yourself. The forum will level up your thoughts, through the numerous information provided here, to purchase more bitcoin even while thinking you're late. Everyone who didn't get bitcoin for free 13 years ago can consider themselves late comers, but that doesn't mean that people who joined last year haven't made more profits too. Imaging a person who bought 2 bitcoin at 16k each has made over 10k profits within a small period. Like everyone has said, no such thing as "had I known" in the community or market. Ok, now you've known start doing something from there.

Also interested in a payment system, which is recommended to play in such casinos? Or just a suitable crypto wallet? If you're not new to casino gambling, but new to cryptocurrency casino gambling, then are no much difference except change in the payment method. However, if you are new to the gambling niche, you'll have to go through some cryptocurrency review sites for reputable casino, though they're multiple casinos for you to utilize in the forum that has been trusted by member, you'll still need to do lots of test running. One thing I'd advise you to always look out for in a casino is their provably fair policy. It'll help you stay away from getting rigged off your money. Moreover, if you're looking for a casino that guarantees winnings while playing their slot games or table games, I don't think such would be advisable for you to think that playing in a specific casino will guarantee more wins. Therefore, no criterion for choosing casino other than confirming their genuineness. Keep hunting for what you want to find.
2429  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: immune Boosters in the Forum on: January 18, 2023, 09:53:00 PM
Nothing is hidden in the forum, I'd advise you, OP, to observe closely the forum you're part of and you'll understand that the glittering things; merits, signatures are nothing compared to the network of people reading your posts on daily basis. These people are from different parts of the world and for that you may never lack help when you visit any country for conference or other purposes. I'd say the local boards are the best feature of the forum and every active member can benefit from it one day or another. Only the travelers would understand. We'll always need directions whenever we visit a new country and that's the best help for any traveler. So, a forum like this offers to its members plenty of help that beats the merits and signature campaign which are ranked no 1 on some members list of WHY-I-AM-HERE.
2430  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bolt Card management software is now open source on: January 18, 2023, 09:22:36 PM
Wow, that's really cool to manage your own Bolt Cards to make lightning transactions! It's interesting to see how technology is advancing to make transactions more secure and efficient.

more secure?
giving a merchant a LNURL where he can make multiple deductions from your balance..
yea fun stuff, just dont accidentality tap 3 times or it will cost you 3x

While setting up the bolt card you can limit the daily amounts to how much money you'll wish to spend a day or weekly. So, users are expected to put their daily limitation in smaller amounts to avoid such things like you pointed out. Moreover Boltcards are more secure compared to the static LNURLW in terms of deducting money from clients balance with the help of this Boltcard extension or the Bold card NFC card creator app on google play store, the bolt card can be erased, so far the key is backed up the person can re-create another one to maintain the security of the card.
2431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting against the Public, is this strategy working? on: January 18, 2023, 08:54:36 PM
Gamblers constantly try to follow new ‍stretegy for batting to win. Not all the strategies will work. Many strategies work once or twice, but later it does not work. However, no matter how good the strategy, it will not work too long. The strategy that the OP has talked about can be effective. But not for all the time. In applying this technique, it is necessary to keep the risk of taking a threat. You have to think adversely when the team is in good condition. On the other hand, it is very difficult to support the opposite team in a match that is adversely but you have to obey. Strategy and luck both are needed to win in any betting.

The worst aspect of gambling is thinking that people know what they are doing and trusting that casino writers know much about gambling. These strategies keep people away from becoming better gamblers and most gamblers would stick to such strategy till they get old in gambling without figuring out what actually works in gambling. The moment one starts seeing gambling differently other than a means of making money they'll advance quickly in the niche and stay away from strategies that won't work.
2432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: What percent of your portfolio is stored in Bitcoin/Crypto on: January 18, 2023, 12:20:58 PM
In cryptocurrency I have 80% of my portfolio investested in bitcoin and in altcoins like BCH. Hoping to build more of bitcoin and double it up to get higher than the altcoins I've got. Though, I see profits on BCH than in bitcoin because I have a good amount of BCH than BTC. But, Fiat is not left out, I utilize fiat a lot and its also a part of my portfolio. However, observing the market It seems some altcoins yield same level of profits with bitcoin. For instance, If a person invests 20k to purchase 1 btc and the other invest 20k to purchase 168 BCH they'll see similar profits if the market is moving bullish.
2433  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are we legally associated with advertised services? on: January 18, 2023, 08:54:16 AM
Let's take it to the outside world, celebrities like DJ Khaled, May weather etc in 2018 was charged for promoting a scam project using their social media platform. These people are influential in the society and can easily be detected if they do anything fishy with their influence on people. In such situation they'll be considered guilty and fined for misleading their followers.  Here in the forum, you are not having followers, but people can trust you, therefore trusting any company you promote here too, if need arises for investigation on you for promoting a company, you'll be charged according to what you got paid. Though, it's rare because how would all the participants get charged to pay regarding the difference in locations and identity.
Don't compare yourself to celebrities because laws are different for you and for them. Okay, let the police forces arrest you for possession of hard drugs and then compare yourself to the celebrities who were arrested for the possession of hard drugs. You'll easily end up in jail but celebrities will still be free because it's the fame, status, money that protects them from everything. Imagine Lionel Messi decided to use drugs, do you really believe that any government ever arrest him? Can you imagine what would happen in the world if any police force arrest him?

Wearing the signature on this forum to me looks like wearing a company's t-shirt in public. How can anyone arrest me if I wear some company's logo and url? Even if I print amphetamine logo on my t-shirt and paint a tattoo on my face, I think I'm safe.

How many years is R Kelly in Jail, Kodak black served, 6ix9ine served, Surge tupac's boss still serving his jail time. What do you think of celebrities; little gods. Indeed it depends on your environment and the emotions you've got for these people. Law is above everyone depending on the level of evidence used on them. Nothing would happen in the world if the Police arrests Messi, his reputation would collapse like Terra. These are not even Government officials.

Are you paid to wear the company's Tshirt in street? so it's quite different from the forum signature since you're being paid to insert it on your signature space. Moreover, putting any code or url on your signature space doesn't guarantee payment.

That won't be feasible in the forum since the forum cancels any project once it's dictated to be a scam project.
I didn't say the project scams. I said it launders money. The former can be instantly detected, while the latter may not be detected ever.

I think the law enforcement agencies only focus on the advertisers if they promote a company which has been classified scam.
I'm more than sure that law enforcement will focus on the prosperity of a service that is proved to launder money.

You don't have any reason to be a part of the money laundry case, the law enforcement focuses only on two parties the company owner and the people that used the company to launder money. For instance, the recent news that Binance is used by drug cartels to launder money. Does it mean everybody that promotes Binance would be arrested? even the direct employees has nothing to bother about other than losing their jobs. CZ is the person to answer for it as the CEO, and if he can provide the names of the drug dealers he can go scot-free; proving to the court that he doesn't work for the cartel. That is if he's arraigned.
2434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum deposit and minimum withdrawal. on: January 18, 2023, 08:36:41 AM
Someone with a strict budget of gambling with $10, decides to start online gambling after been told by a friend, but on signing up discovers that the minimum deposit accepted is above the amount budgetted for gambling. Does high minimum deposit fees from online casino discourage gamblers who want to stick to a budget and influences them to gamble with bigger amounts? If yes, and that perhaps is a reason behind many other online casinos keeping their minimum deposits as low as $1, Could low minimum deposit be an encouragement for people to come gamble regardless of the money they have to gamble? Does minimum withdrawal encourage players to try again and keep gambling if they don't win up to the minimum withdrawal?

You know that usually in crypto gambling in the industry, the minimum deposit is 20$ or more my knowledge and experience of gambling websites.

Maybe for others the 1$ lowest deposit is encouraging to gamblers who hope to grow their small gambling capital, but for gamblers who want to gamble in casinos, I think that if they want to gamble it will make a way for them to only be able to gamble in crypto gambling.

I don't see anything wrong in having a high minimum deposit, his money is not lost until he stakes, the person always has an option to check other casinos that accepts lesser than his budget or add up some funds to meet up their minimum deposit then stake 10 dollars at the moment, another day he can stake the remaining. But such a person is not yet ready to gamble, because it's like paying for a hotel bill that's above your budget and starts bothering if such bill discourages other people or encourage them to pay higher. Gambling is fun and recreational, and if you can't meet up with a specific casino price try other ones like the 1 dollar minimum. What matters is going there and coming out happy. Regardless of win or loss.

On the other hand, only gambling newbies will get carried away by the 1$ minimum deposits. A player should have in mind how much they'll want to gamble for the period of their stay in the casino and they're no need to bother about how much the minimum withdrawal is, the money there is meant for gambling and a player shouldn't be in a hurry to withdraw his funds, that is, if he truly budgeted the funds he deposited on the casino for gambling purposes.
2435  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Skills to Mills - Acquire the will, conquer the hill, enjoy the thrill on: January 17, 2023, 01:04:42 PM
I hope "skills to mills" is not going to take that same path."

I think the website is just starting and the advise should be one step at a time, Op needs to attract more traffics before getting lobbied to write on projects that may not be good for his audience. Having said that, which he claimed not to be a part of such practice. I'd say that Op should work with high DA sites on the cryptocurrency niche for guest posts and building back links. It's a long process, but it'll pay off on the long run considering the number of cryptocurrency blogs that shuts down on daily basis. Staying in the market, OP, is your greatest weapon, and even if you don't want to run the site again, it can be sold for a good amount. In addition, I love the simplicity and the speed of the webpages they are good and it'll help readers to stay longer on your site which will help the ranking of the pages. Keep it up and don't stop.
2436  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet crash on: January 17, 2023, 12:34:09 PM
What really happens when you try to login, does it open and crash immediately? Or did the app disappear completely from your phone? If so try running it from the app files or restart your device. Have you checked your wallet address on explorer to know if your funds are intact? Just to be sure your phone didn't get a malware attack. Sorry about the incident, if the keys are written on a paper it'll be hard to find it, do you recall accessing your wallet with another phone? It can be of help accessing your wallet again with that other phone. The problem is mainly from your OS it may no longer be compatible with the app, that's why an update is always required.
2437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is ok to sell your Bitcoin. on: January 17, 2023, 11:46:38 AM
It's okay to have other sources of income as a bitcoiner it'll help to keep your bitcoin safe. But, if a person has no other source of getting fiat except selling their bitcoin it's not a bad Idea. Since the aim is to make money, it should be spent as well. The truth why it seems hodl is the major advise is that it helps everyone to make profits, once people starts selling the price will be going down, which doesn't help the growth of bitcoin. Having regrets over not taking people's hodl advise depends on how you feel about the market trend. Sometimes after selling at 17k the price hits 21k, as human, you'll have a bit of regret in you for not having patience. That's why we're told to hold, the price can move further and those that didn't hold would regret selling low.
2438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & China time to time waving History on: January 17, 2023, 11:00:03 AM
You forgot to mention the Chinese ban of cryptocurrency accounts on Wechat. China has been a torn in the market, but the market don't need them to succeed. Bitcoin price would still go bullish with or without them. However, given time the Chinese government may consider lifting the ban on bitcoin as power could change and their next administration can consider using bitcoin again. Many businesses would prosper in China if bitcoin is accepted again within the country. Hence that doesn't stop the citizens from having cryptocurrency or investing into the market just that they are lesser amount of Chinese in cryptocurrency after the general ban on the currency. The ICO era was so drastic on investors around the world not just the Chinese, though some Chinese developers had their own ICO telegram groups, which ended up as Scam. Their Government is just doing this to promote their own digital currency and make money out of it.

2440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle your losses on: January 17, 2023, 03:25:54 AM
Personally, if I have some cash left I'll switch game. It keeps me balance to think differently and focuses my brain on winning again. I've noticed that continuously playing a game while losing can leave an instinct that you lose again. So, tackling my losses won't be to stop gambling or calm my nerves down, such idea wouldn't stop me from losing further bets.

If losses are stressful for you, then stopped doing gambling. What's the point?

The fact that you need to undergo lots of things just to handle your losses, that's a problem already.

No offense but gambling is not for the weak. If experiencing struggles to bounce back after a loss then gambling it's not for you.

It's common amongst players, win or lose makes up the game and the question is focused on one side. How do you handle your winnings questions rarely or doesn't pop up because the casino has to worry about it alone, when one win they'll forget to bother about it. Same way should be applicable to losses, it's a game and one term shouldn't be considered painful than the other. When a player is losing, the casino is winning and vice versa. Though, people differs and are in the game for different purposes, they can't avoid losses, so they'll need a way to calm things down maybe the gambled money was not meant to be gambled. I think that's the purpose for the thread. Players against Casinos.
