NFTs are non fungible tokens, they are also cryptocurrencies.
Its more accurate to say they live on top of cryptocurrencies. Some tokens are currencies, but all tokens reside on pre-existing blockchains. NFTs are altcoins, you can post anything related to NFTs on altcoin boards.
For the most part they use altcoins but there is also a thriving world of Bitcoin-based NFTs. I should open up a Rare Pepe thread in Project Development and see if it gets moved. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I agree with the prior comment that Lightning should get a Child Board first, but having one for NFTs somewhere might also be a good idea. They give not just Bitcoin but several other coins a definitive use case, makes everything more exciting. NFTs are probably responsible for drawing a bigger crowd into crypto than any other single factor (aside from pure speculation, I assume).

...then let's create the actual league with all of the rules/settings as discussed, pay the entry fees, and agree on a draft date/hour. It's a lot of work, and it may take some time to get everything in order, so why not start early? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fy.yarn.co%2F1a314dfa-fb5b-48e3-b26a-57dbd1d808f3_text.gif&t=664&c=TjNJ8pRJhwaEIg)

I am assuming those eth prices of those earlier nft prototypes were from the past when eth was way more cheaper and not their current estimation market rates. If they are trading at all these days. Because i seriously would be surprised to know that 100 to 249 eth works were actively traded at that price.
Nope, the prices are based on either today's price of ETH or higher. The ones in the top row don't change hands very often because most of them are 1 of 1s. Except for Cryptopunks (the first ones), which have a current floor price of 281 ETH. QUANTUM was famously sold in a Sotheby's auction last year for $1.4 million. A RAREPEPE sold for 200 ETH in Sept 2021, when the price of ETH was $3,300. A SATOSHICARD sold for 300,000 USD in January. A FDCARD sold for 147.39 ETH in February. Here's another good graphic, though it leaves out Dogeparty, where most of my stuff is: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fpbs.twimg.com%2Fmedia%2FFXh5u-_akAU3BSP%3Fformat%3Djpg%26name%3D4096x4096&t=664&c=Pi7IfU9a3qh41A) For a more detailed timeline, click here.

There are a few of these. One of the most interesting developments as of late in this regard is CounterCord, a Counterparty "asset verification tool for Discord." Is the link down or is my ISP just being bad? I tried opening the one in their Twitter post and I also couldn't open it. Its working for me. Here is the content from it, because I think its definitely worth sharing. I've even used it for SHITCOIN and a few other tokens I made. CounterCord is a Bitcoin and XCP Asset Verification tool for Discord! Verify Once, Party Everywhere! Are you tired of having to Captcha verify in every server you join?! Ask your discord admin to add CounterCord! Once BTC-Verified, any server a member joins, that has CounterCord in it, that member will automatically get BTC-Verified role! CounterCord can also have XCP assets verified to add exclusive roles! If you would like to invite CounterCord to your Discord Click here: > Invite CounterCord< If you would like to check out the code for CounterCord Open Source! OK so I'm gonna make it my mission to get this forum interested in Historical NFTs. Where can we start... You will definitely want to own at least a few of these going into the next bull market. When I came into the scene, a lot of these had huge price tags which are now significantly reduced due to bear market conditions. DYOR, feel free to ask questions here, but you'll definitely want to get at least a couple of these: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fpbs.twimg.com%2Fmedia%2FFXeLR-nWAAAO8lj%3Fformat%3Djpg%26name%3D4096x4096&t=664&c=NgcIgP8Ea5kWXQ) Here is the tweet containing the full image for those who want to see it in its full glory, and have a bit of context from the graphic's creator. These are the true blockchain collectibles out of the trillion+ NFTs that have ever been minted. A lot of them aren't actually "NFTs" per their strict definition, but rather simply tokens or assets. The fact that they have an early mint date is what makes them valuable. Of course having good art is nice, but creation date far supersedes aesthetic value for HNFTs.

Some wise words of wisdom from our Jimbo. Hi Jimbo! If you treat your business as a hobby, it's not work.
...
Most businesses have a way of winding down naturally, so retirement is less abrupt.
Ideally I'd like my 'business' to be so not work that it feels like retirement.

Sir I had the same problem with my MetaMask until I contacted Lord Knox Harrington on Digg.
He managed to get me back 50% of my shitcoins, and for that I am forever grateful.

Waiting for NFT 2.0 - tokens with functionality!
There are a few of these. One of the most interesting developments as of late in this regard is CounterCord, a Counterparty "asset verification tool for Discord." Basically it allows token-gated channel access on Discord, meaning you must hold a specific token in your wallet to see and participate in specific Discord channels. Its pretty cool. Am going to try to build a "Choose Your Own Adventure" type game around it, with NFT prizes at the end, but it will take some time to do all the writing for it.

Yall following training camp news?
I started reading some articles after reading your post and I am very shocked to learn that Russell Wilson is now the quarterback of the Denver Broncos. Has anyone posted about this trade in this thread? No dude, I did not know that. I should also try to keep up on such things, though I know in the long run it really does not matter as it pertains to Fantasy Football championships. BTW, congrats on your new rank ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) You can keep in mind who helped you when it comes to trade deals this season ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Just kidding. No, you can buy some Shitcoins instead (check my sig). ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Double kidding.

Cryptokitties were the very definition of current NFTs as they were Erc-721. Bored apes Yacht Club are ERC-721 as well so they are literally same tech.
Not only that CryptoKitties were _the_ first crypto collectible to use the term "NFT"; they popularized it. Here's a simple timeline of NFT developments, which arguably go all the way back to Namecoin and 2012 (proto-NFTs, non-fungible assets & tokens): ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fpbs.twimg.com%2Fmedia%2FFXh5u-_akAU3BSP%3Fformat%3Djpg%26name%3D4096x4096&t=664&c=Pi7IfU9a3qh41A) They leave out Dogeparty but that's OK, I forgive them. For a more detailed timeline, click here. And this is kind of fun, a pricing infographic of historical NFTs (too big of an image to post here).
