Quite surprised to see Carreno Busta win today in the National Bank Open.
I thought Daniel Evans would of taken him out in yesterday's match but he some how pulled threw with a victory.
Was going to put Hurkacz to win because the oddsmakers were very much thinking he was the better player at 1.45x odds on him to win the finals, but Busta worked out of Hurbert's service games to pull threw once again.
Not a surprise to hear that another unseeded player made it far in as this was the case all tournament long starting from the very first round.
2422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: August 15, 2022, 02:53:58 AM
UFC 41 was another good fight night to have witnessed with the main event not disappointing.
Vera was dominant during the entire fight but the head kick to take out Cruz in the 4th round was the way it was ment to end.
The only real upset that I could remember was Nate Landwehr beating David Onama.
This was the one fight that caused my parlay to lose so it was the one I can recall being the biggest loss of the night.
Never call Nate the train ever out of the fight as this one looked to be done in the first by Onama.

That was a strange occurrence with the referee giving both cards after the match and the final whistle have already blown.
So they both miss the next match behind the bench for these two cards?
Thought they were yellow but if they were reds then that is something else different.

There was yet another draw with this last match so that probably makes for a difficult weekend for many to get points...
Except for LFC_bitcoin as he has already grabbed the yellow cap with his team playing the last match of week two closing this out tomorrow.

If Lewis Hamilton magically somehow gets a world title again then maybe they will keep him, and there is no denying that they have the most powerful engine but right now they are having trouble with everything else which is why they had bad results.

But to say that they are going to end up with another title? That seems like a farfetched idea, and even if they ever become that good again, Russell is right there and he could be taking it instead of Lewis and that seems like a more possible situation to be in. I get that people like to see the best of the best, but I do not feel like that's the case here and we shouldn't expect him to be that great anymore.

To be honest I don't think that Lewis Hamilton would be willing to continue racing in case he gets his 8th title. Because he has extended his contract with Mercedes to achieve this actually. His main target is this and he will hope to do this next season. Mercedes are improving their car day by day now so until next season everything can change in the balance between teams. I think he will get this title when he has a very powerful car and then retire.
How long did he extend it for? With drivers I would see them taking a 3-4 year contract at a time so the teams can lock them in and not be offered a better contract from another team.
But I agree with you on Lewis and once he wins that title he will probably contemplate on retiring with going out a champion and not just fade away like most drivers do.
Going out on a high note is a nice way to leave your sport and not many have the opportunity to do it on their own terms.

It was another horrible day for Manchester United today. It was bad for me at the same time because I predicted a win for them in the pool as well. Manchester United are still a miserable team that they lost this match by 4-0. How can they lose to Brentford 4-0? I just can't understand. Erik ten Hag can even get sacked sooner than most people expect. Maybe the root of this problem isn't mainly related to him but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets sacked.
Alot of draws happened and even I had two but only got the one correct.
Not too many participants put in draws especially when there is a heavy favorite playing during match day.

Manchester united was the one that nobody really could see them getting beat 4-0 from Brentford.
Had seen some put 1-0 and 2-0 but those were long shots.
I watched the first half but couldn't watch the rest as it was already seen in the players faces that they were not just beat on the scoreboard but defeated mentally.
2426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Jack Mallers’ Strike lightning network app will offer visa card on: August 12, 2022, 02:24:27 PM
The one who introduced El Salvador to bitcoin with his company's method of payment to the masses is pairing it with a visa card. So to be able to facilitate crypto payments over the lightning network for a smooth transaction to retailers.
The card also will give it's users a way to earn rewards on those crypto payments.

https://twitter.com/Strike/status/1557828743925727234?s=20&t=rdULmbYDzpFwMia4qjGJOg

"The company announced the launch on its Twitter Thursday evening, telling users they can now “take Strike anywhere and earn rewards on everyday spending.” The rollout will begin with a waitlist.
Strike is one of the better-known apps built on the Lightning Network, a Layer 2 protocol designed to speed up Bitcoin-based transactions. The app made headlines in April when CEO Jack Mallers announced a deal with Shopify that would allow merchants to take payment in crypto, but receive dollars.
In a series of tweets, Strike said users will be able to use the new card for direct deposits, to be paid in bitcoin, buy bitcoin, send and receive money, spend funds using Apple Pay and Google Pay, and earn rewards."

2427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff’s Bank Set To Be Liquidated; Will He Finally Turn To Bitcoin (BTC)? on: August 12, 2022, 02:10:52 PM
Simply, because he really believes bitcoin is a ponzi and that it's going to go to zero in the future.
We don't know what he really believes. As we agreed (I hope), what he tells can be true or can be false, we don't know.
Let's also agree that we cannot agree whether he has or not bitcoin Cheesy
This guy is from the old school of money and only believes in the hard knock cash and gold.. That's it!

He even said in an article I was reading earlier today he told everybody who is holding bitcoin to sell amid this suckers rally.

If you or anyone else think he will ever change his mind about it are just dreaming.

Sportsbet special for today's match in the bundesliga with SC Freiburg vs Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund to win and keep a clean sheet @5.00x odds.
It is available for another 45 minutes here:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/sportsbet-specials/matches/today

Took all the specials last week and the closest one was the Sunday matches all over 2.5 goals.
Manchester city was the only one that did not hit the target. It ended 2-0.

Was curious with the age of the oldest driver to drive in an F1 and was surprised it was 58 years old.
Done by Louis Chiron but to actually win a race it was Luigi Fagioli at 53.
Back in 1951 for the French Grand prix so you know the drivers were probably less impacted with all the stress that the drivers now have to contend with.
Can Lewis Hamilton keep going until he is 50?
Highly unlikely but as someone else had already mentioned, it is now more about driving longer than their competition more then anything else.
2430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: August 12, 2022, 11:09:55 AM
If you ask me about that I will says there is a no doubt with that Elon musk is just an attention seeker on crypto  And through those activities he is earning his profits.  I think he is only looking at crypto for his profit.  Yes but it is true that after Elon musk came to cryptocurrency development took place.  But I think it has further confused the market situation.  I think most people have already understood that he is only here to seek attention for his own interests.
Many of us make negative comments about Elon Musk but many of us don't know about his immense contribution to cryptocurrency. Everyone comes to the trading business to make profit but everyone won’t be success. Now Elon Musk is a role model in cryptocurrency. If you raise a question you will get answer that how did so many investors come to the crypto market today? He has also invested in crypto market. I consider him as a successful trader and  businessman.
Most in the cryptocurrency space would say his contribution to it has been in the majority negative.
I believe he even recently stated that bitcoin was not going to last but at the same time said doge coin has potential.
This is pretty skewed thinking to a cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

Is he for crypto? We'll he's for making money, so he's more or less like 80% of crypto investors Smiley Is he about the idea and concept of crypto? Again, he could be, but he's also more invested in his own project so crypto comes as an afterthought. Again, nothing that separates him from at least 80% of crypto investors.
Very true in this statement.
Most are into it for financial gain and nothing more. As it is a currency, and the more you have of it the wealthier you are.
That is pure economics.

Most crypto users have bad comments for Elon Musk. Due to its promotion Doge , SHIB by Elon musk, many people have experienced huge losses by holding SHIB & Doge tokens . Although many have made profit from here but the amount of loss is huge. I think Elon Musk is a greedy man.  Who always thinks only about his own improvement
And that is exactly why most who have come to know about crypto hate him.
Because they invested into these coins (or the ones that have his name tied to them in someway or another whether that be by legitimate means or by nefarious ones) and have lost their funds or in some cases their lifesavings.
And you made a great point:
Elon Musk is a greedy business man through and through.
He's only looking out himself and what is in his best interests and nothing more.
2431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some recent tweets by Elon Musk showing he is starting to warm up to Bitcoin? on: August 12, 2022, 10:55:47 AM
Who honestly gives a crap? I don't especially after throwing the entire cryptocurrency market into chaos several times so far which helped him earn a ton of money and were smart moves, but they proved that he didn't really care about BTC.

Musk rose to the top thanks to his insane greed and selfishness. He is a master manipulator who knows how to deal with different kinds of people.

This is why whatever he says or does related to the cryptocurrency market isn't reliable or trustworthy. Just my 2 cents.
No, Everything you say is spot on about Musk and I fully agree.
But you can not ignore the fact that he does move the markets, no matter how much you despise the guy or what he has done and is doing.
Musk has alot of influence on anything he gets his hands into whether that pumps it's value or in this case dumps it.

Elon had sold $6.9bln worth of his tesla company's shares on the looming court case to do with the twitter deal inwhich he backed out of.
https://www.theverge.com/2022/8/9/23299343/elon-musk-tesla-stock-sells-twitter-trial
No wonder he started selling his holdings in bitcoin and now needing to sell tesla stock. It's showing just how this deal with twitter had backfired on his plans to be a multi-social media mogul.
2433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Michael Saylor CEO of Microstrategy wants Elon Musk to talk about bitcoin on: August 11, 2022, 12:19:57 PM
Michael Saylor looks really pathetic and cringy, with all those desperate attempts to get the attention of Elon Musk. It's clear that he wants to create FOMO on the market, but Musk won't fall for this cheap trick.
We already know the views of Elon Musk in regards to Bitcoin. He is not a big fan,but he respects the technology behind BTC.If Musk wants to buy more BTC,he will most likely do it secretly(if this is possible) and he won't brag about it publicly. Most of the crypto whales aren't bragging all over the internet saying "Hey,look at me,I own 500K Bitcoins." Grin
Well no more need to worry about him trying to convert anymore billionaires over to bitcoin, since he stepped down as Microstrategy's CEO a few weeks ago.
I think his company was suffering tremendous losses due to the price tumbling so far from it's high of $46,865 earlier in the year and hasn't recovered since then.
Even Cathie Wood began selling stock in Tesla and her holdings in this company's stock at some point earlier this summer.

Was a perfect tennis day for me yesterday, first with Čilić and then my late night ticket passed as well. This one was not expected to pass so it was nice boost to my betting bank:

For today I am lookin to take Carreno Busta, he should win easy against out of form Rune and odds @1.6 seem like free money. I am not looking at late matches yet, that will go on late night ticket.
Whoa! Well done Trofo.
That's a nice looking betslip for tennis and a good amount to win on it. Congratulations on that accomplishment.

I had mine for over on games and they ended up all unders.

Kyrgios just defeated and knocked out Medvedev from Montreal. He was playing so good and continues to dominate. But what is worrying is that he looks really tired and i dont know if he can win this tournament but he knocked out the worlds number one
Was watching the match and was shocked in the final set where he beat him 6-2.
Kyrgios really improved lately in the last few tournaments he has been in and was surprised when the announcer at the end of the match said he wasn't seeded for this one. Thought he was atleast 11th but no.
Also Tommy Paul taking out the #2 in the tournament earlier on doesn't mean being #1 and 2 means much during these ATP 1000 tournaments I imagine.

Vettel doesn't seems that type of guy who would make a comeback just to make the headlines all over the news but I do see him as the future boss of F1 or someone important who will guide the next generation of F1 drivers to a new era with more fair rules that we seen right now. At least , this is how I see Vettel in the next years as the statement kinda made it clear that he really wants to spend time with his family but also stay involve in F1 without driving so he gave us an insight right there. Rumors also said that he will be placed on a top position on F1 board in the coming years.
It should be noted that Vettel is 35 years old.  This is the age when most riders begin an irreversible process of slowing down reactions, like all people in general.  Worthy to perform in the race becomes difficult, if not impossible.
Therefore, I always treat with understanding and a little sadness when great racers leave in the past.  If I'm not mistaken, Vettel was the champion in 2011-12, 13? but 10 years have already passed.
Hamilton is 37 years old and it is showing this season for certain.
Especially a few races ago when he complained of his back giving him problems with the constant bouncing of the car on the track.
You can see this when he was trying to get out of his cockpit right after the race and he was holding his back.
I think I remember some drivers well into their 40's still driving but probably not at a professional level such as F1.
