For sending ETH from the BSC network I have never tried it, but you have to understand first and sort it out because one wallet can be on several networks via Metamask, so if you want to send something, make sure the token is on what network first, so that it can be easier upon delivery. you cannot send ETH on BSC network, you can send BETH for example
regarding fees, that are paid in BNB on BSC network, so that could be an issue that people are facing when trying to send something on BSC
ETH is ETHER currency on Ethereum blockchain, on Binance Smart Chain is some other wrapped issuance of ETH, as far as i know there are BETH and renETH, maybe there are some others, keep in mind that metamask is multi-network wallet, and you can connect to BSC or Ethereum network, which will show your balance on respective chain
