2421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: December 26, 2022, 06:47:18 PM
We still have time to speculate about next year's winners, but I predict on beforehand the victory of Steven Spielberg's "The Fabelmans", which has been already awarded in Toronto. About others, it is still too early to comment.

Anyway, I only hope that we don't witness another pathetical situation like the one starring Will Smith last year.

Something inspirational for filmmakers, I realized I took boring photos when I learn how important the horizon is in this movie. Spielberg movies always are getting attention since he is already popular in getting the hearts of his audience but with "The Fabelmans" I doubt. But Spielberg I think wanted to convince the audience of this movie to look closely at directors of films. If I have to vote, McDonagh.
2422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright might be Satoshi Nakamoto on: December 26, 2022, 12:56:59 PM
If he had the private key, he would just sign a message proving his is Satoshi. He can't do that, so he isn't. Simple as that.

Wrong! Knowing the public key is sufficient.

So does it mean he is Satoshi?
I'd still want to see if he could spend the BTC and sign message because it's the most ultimate test to see whether he owns the address.

It's much like pinging a server and responding back to you to confirm the network connection but browsing a website will confirm its access to the internet. If you catch that drift.
2423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the need of Bitcoin being more divisible lead to a hard fork? on: December 26, 2022, 12:29:31 PM
I don't think there is a need for a hard fork. And I don't think the smallest unit of Bitcoin is the Satoshi. An amount of Bitcoin could actually go smaller than that. The lightning network sometimes even uses millisatoshi or millisat or msat. If Satoshi has 8 decimal points, the millisatoshi has 11 decimal points. So it goes like 0.00000000001. That's 1.7e-7 in USD, way smaller than a cent. So I think there isn't a problem with Bitcoin's divisibility at all even if 1 Bitcoin goes up to a million USD.

I think this is what will happen. There were several discussions of this in the forum about this to which we know they planned it ahead already before this adoption could take BTC to $1M. And it will be possible to pay for a water bottle using an LN wallet in stores like Starbucks.

It wouldn't need hard forking anymore I suppose. Every company I think will also adopt LN as well after all everyone wants tiny bits for thier fee.

2424  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Global Drug Conspiracy Used Binance To Launder Millions In Crypto on: December 26, 2022, 11:05:24 AM
This seems to be good news for the DEA since Binance worked with them to uncover and trace transactions. It would appear DEA would need binance more if they wanna solve cases like laundering after all they are the largest crypto that operates as of now.

It's not BTC's fault not Binance, the launderers are just a bit getting techy and DEA needs to upgrade its knowledge about crypto.
2425  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does anyone still survive? on: December 25, 2022, 05:57:54 PM

When the bull market begins, you will see those old accounts are going to start logginin. I have seen thier usernames on casino chats the other day but I didn't see the account very active here. Thier life doesn't just revolve around this forum, they may not have to participate here too.

There was an old account lately that becomes active, Edwardard was once very active years ago and then disappear for a while but we saw him again here just weeks ago. Old users are still around.
2426  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin survived the Christmas market pressure on: December 25, 2022, 05:31:36 PM
The FED announcement has something to do with it if the price moves up to $20k sooner. BTC is related to what will be the economy be like as dictated by the FED.

We can only hope that there will be a recovery of $20.000, another 2 months I think before it could go up again. Winter will squeeze the money out of people's pockets. Do you think people using thier Holiday bonus to buy BTC?
2427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Licenses and Casino reputation on: December 25, 2022, 04:11:14 PM

I guess you can sue the casino if you can prove you were scammed. However, most of these casinos are offshore and registered in Panama or somewhere like that.

In online casinos, it's often just to show the users that they are licensed to make them look legit. It helps the reputation and user's trust somehow but you know how costly it is to sue them.  Creating a scam report in bitcointalk is worth doing to ruin the casino's rep than suing a casino that you know you won't be seeing on the court.
2428  Economy / Economics / Re: The poor people with their reasoning on: December 25, 2022, 04:02:08 PM

The poor lives from paycheck to paycheck, so it would be hard for them to trust when they are already wrecked before they can even spend on an investment. You can't blame them for that. But they need more than just encouragement and in this time of recession, you really can understand why some are just going to decline richness that can only come up in the next 2-3 years.
2429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco on: December 25, 2022, 03:46:14 PM
Now, this is a good match. I'd like Lomachenko to win. I'm a big fan of him, but I think Devin Haney has the right tools to really challenge the boxing maestro. Loma will probably have a hard time getting inside Haney with the latter's significant reach advantage, but he has to. That's his only way to score. He needs to come closer to land those punches.

Haney, however, is not only good in maintaining that distance, he is also a good counter puncher. Any attempt for Loma to come in, there will definitely be a punch waiting. But I think Loma still has that speed and footwork. He can probably handle Haney well.

I'm really looking forward to this match, and cheer for Loma.

Better days of Loma have passed and he is small against Haney who also has the speed to match Loma. Loma has a slim chance of winning against a younger and more powerful puncher Haney that will be what other observers in boxing I suppose.

You might not see this fight come to materialize unless there is good money for Loma to gain because this is close to a certain loss for him.
2430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: December 25, 2022, 03:28:12 PM

Such a generous casino. Although the risk is high, the amount to win is also tremendous. If you are fond of risking like betting for the underdog in a match, you would certainly try that chance of winning.  I may or might not be depending on how I feel on the day whether I feel lucky or not.

If its not repetitive I might not really join. A casino would need to keep the offer to keep users coming. They could do this one-time offer daily or weekly.
2431  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin here to stay in Brazil or??.. on: December 24, 2022, 07:34:05 PM
People are already warned about CBDC I guess they all believe it's used for surveillance which people don't trust governments. Even if they allow CBDC to be used in buying BTC, the people will be more cautious because they get records of who owns BTC.

Brazil embracing BTC will make the country open for all because the impression is that people are free. BTC is here to stay, it doesn't choose whoever and whatever the owner may do to his BTC.
2432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can CEX's prove their solvency? on: December 24, 2022, 07:19:16 PM

This a problem for exchanges since they would have to expose thier data to regulators and to the company that will audit them. Too risky to do for the exchange especially if the regulators are also the ones who kept attacking them while the exchange is not under thier jurisdiction.

Every country has to regulate and audit thier own crypto industry. Every government has to trust each since they all have a single threat but crypto.
2433  Economy / Economics / Re: It's Simple to understood now cash is king again on: December 24, 2022, 06:49:59 PM
There are doubts about both cash and gold, especially with the current global crisis when it comes to inflating debts and Debt deflation.
Gold for example still can be confiscated by governments if they decide what many countries have done in the past which cash can become worthless during runaway inflation.

Cash, for now, is the king, what happens next might make cash useful also. So far what we've heard on the news was that central banks are buying gold which they were preparing for the gold standard as BRICS countries try to implement.
2434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana’s position in the space. on: December 24, 2022, 06:42:12 PM

SOL as associated with FTX may likely lose its position on top. Its under a dim light because of the FTX scam. SOL is not even on the most searched cryptocurrency based on google. The list will surprise many of us of course but the popularity of Doge and Shib surpasses the tokens we thought are going to dominate.

2435  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲BetFury.io|🎁Welcome Pack on BetFury| 💸300 Free Spins + 150% Deposit Bonus on: December 23, 2022, 06:15:24 PM
VPN's are allowed on Betfury, also if you are from a region that is denied, you can still access and play on the site using a VPN. This has been confirmed multiple times in this topic and also by livechat. No idea how to delete your user account; probably live chat will be able to help you further.
Could i have the exact wording and who exactly said this. Because if team adviced to do that, that's a huge red flag of luring in potential victims.

Only tactic from their side that made sense to say something like this about VPNs would be that if you get caught when they ask for kyc, they can legally just confiscate your money as it would be your fault not reading the ToS where that country wasn't allowed in to begin with.

Go to livechat and ask this question, they will repeat that you can still access the site by using a VPN even if you are from a restricted region. Until know, I haven't really heard of anyone that needed to submit KYC and haven't heard of any problems of members that are doing this.

but all licensed casinos ask to do KYC, so sooner or later they will eventually ask all customers to do KYC, this is what all casinos have spoken many times, now about this issue of allowing people from restricted countries to be able to using the site using VPN I think this could create problem for the casino, I am not an expert in laws but I think that if the casino is allowing a certain customer who is in the restricted country to play in the casino using VPN then the casino is breaking the rules laws of those countries and may be held criminally responsible

I don't know to what extent the governments are supervising the casinos or to what extent the government of Curacao is supervising the casinos that they grant licenses, but this point of allowing people from restricted countries to use the casino is something so serious and problematic that it can bring serious problems to the casino in the future, I hope I'm wrong and it's just my imagination

Many will also be forced to submit KYC, particularly those who staked thier BFG on the casino itself. They will not be able to withdraw the tokens and the profit if won't send thier documents.

It's becoming normal already for casinos in crypto but I think the decentralized ones might still take a long time for them to be regulated. The casinos where you have to connect your metamask can be hard to regulate.
2436  Other / Off-topic / Re: Has your budget for gambling been affected by the festive season? on: December 23, 2022, 04:54:55 PM

For me yes. I didn't spend anything on gambling 2 weeks ago as I bought a gift for someone I dearly wanna visit tomorrow, I would assume many of us are actually spending for gifts.

There could be people not really putting much spending on Christmas gatherings. For one they know there is a crisis and the commodity prices are higher than last year.
2437  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does a trading strategy becomes obsolete? on: December 23, 2022, 03:42:32 PM
I am trying to learn more about trading strategies specially in Technical Analysis. Upon trying different indicators, it comes to my mind that indicators might become an obsolete one day.

Just imagine if all of us knows how to use RSI and MACD. We all know when it is overbought or oversold. Therefore, we already know as well when it is good to enter and exit in market. Since we all knew about, RSI is not a good indicator anymore and many of us will find a new indicator that will provide us more details than the latter one.

Now, many Trading Gurus are teaching the best strategy to use. Wherein fact, strategies are becoming obsolete as time goes by. If you are new in trading world, definitely you will be eaten by those traders who know a lot in trading.

I believe it's cyclical. If a trading strategy has become very popular, its effectiveness will be not as much because the trades taken by such a strategy will be "over-crowded", and over-crowded trades will have a lot of "counter-trades" in the other side of the orderbook. Once the trading strategy's effectiveness is not as much, its popularity will become lower, and once it becomes lower, it's effectiveness will go up again. A cycle.

Overbought and oversold strategy is very popular, many traders indeed use it on the longer time frames which I believe works best that way like the weekly chart. The more traders use it, I think triggers a bull market especially when they all buy at the oversold level and hold it.

Using the strategy on leverage trading is what I actually wanna try more but I don't have the courage to do it all the time so because I'm too scared to lose quickly when the market goes in the opposite direction.
2438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this a good plan at all? on: December 23, 2022, 03:28:56 PM
It's not really the IP that most gamblers are afraid of getting breached of but the KYC data that the casino collects from you.
You can see some users have also not used a VPN for gambling purposes, probably thier only concern is enjoying the game also. As long as I can bet and try playing some casino games, I can work with it.

If you are not violating your country's law about gambling, there is no need for you to hide the IP.
2439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about these hyped projects for 2023? on: December 22, 2022, 09:26:27 PM
APE might not be able to survive the drop because many realized already the real value of this NFT and for sure many are also suffering from big losses especially when they buy during the most hyped time for APE. Anyway, if they are being hyped project before with their great technology, I’m pretty sure they will survive this bear market and will rise again, with this i think DOT can be more valuable in 2023.

APE had not gone through a bull run market yet. I think the team will do its best to make it alive for now until the next bull cycle. It's usually the case to make more money before they will finally rugged the next investors who came at the peak of the bull cycle.

DOT is somewhat like SOL I don't think it will also come up. Although its value will climb as it is, its rank will continue to decline.
Matic I think is going to be one of the best performer by the time the market calms down when it approaches the next bull run.
2440  Other / Off-topic / Re: Be The Judge... on: December 22, 2022, 08:12:54 PM
In this case who do you think is at fault, who make the mistake?
Is it the game shop that allowed the gambler play from an unsettled winning?
Or is it the gambler who gambled too much and refused to believe that he has gambled all his unsettled winning away?
Is it possible that someone that has won a bet would gamble and lost the whole money, gamble more and later owe the gambling site money? When the person has gambled with all his money and remain zero, the betting shop supposed to notify him that he has no money again. That fault is for the betting site.
Sorry but a bit of correction, its not actually a betting site but a shop, that is a local betting shop in my locality/area,

Quote
A betting site that has no money again, he supposed to be able to credit the bank account of the person that won the money, but he did not. That fault is for the betting site too.
You are right if the betting shop was one that send winnings to customers bank account, but the case is quite different here, like i said, the betting shop is a local one, they pay all customers winnings in cash, from what i know about that betting shop, if a gambler wins an amount below $50, they pay the winner immediately, but if the gambler wins an amount that is above that, they you ask him or her to come back to collect the money since i think they do not keep large amount in the shop for security reasons.

Quote
If someone gamble, he would have known when his money has finished if the betting shop do things appropriately, but they did it in a way the bettor did not know what he used the money for. That blame is also on the betting shop too.
Well, you cant just put all the blame on the betting shop, some gamblers are very lousy on their own, very ignorant and careless, like i pointed out in my previous comment, the betting shop kept record of gamblers spending, but the gambler himself didn't keep any record, and when the betting shop showed him his record which shows he owes them, he refused to believe it was true.

The gambler is not new to this. He is aware of how much he spent betting on this game. It only needs less than $1 to be part of the game afaik and if he spent a lot I guess he really wanted to secure winning which in the end he instead loses.

How does this game is played by the way that he has been playing the whole day waiting every after 3 hours? This game will really waste your day and you'd get mad even if you'll win.  Cheesy
