2421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Rematch - JOSHUA vs USYK II (updated thread) on: August 21, 2022, 04:14:17 AM
Usyk really won a well-deserved victory, even by decision, if a fight with Fury takes place, it would be interesting to see what happens there, the Gypsy King in his style has already commented on the rematch of Usyk vs Joshua and called it one of the worst title fights in his opinion.

https://twitter.com/Tyson_Fury/status/1561138327964860420

Just like Fury, Usyk is also strong because AJ caught him with some clean shots but he was still standing. I like his durability, I think he is ready for the gypsy king, but if that match would happen, I would still root for the Gypsy King to win.

Anyway, congratulations to Usyk, I thought the trilogy is coming.  Grin
2422  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you know how to trust online sportsbooks? on: August 20, 2022, 12:17:33 PM
Knowing how to choose the ideal bookmaker, where it gives you the confidence to feel comfortable and calm that you will not suffer any mishap, is difficult; a risk is always taken at the time of entering any of these. Of course there are signs that can indicate that a bookmaker is the one for you, but it can simply be a facade and end up being scammed. Playing in this type of sites implies that you are not sure of anything, everything is luck and strategy, where you can lose everything or win it. So I guess the only way to be sure if it is legit is to research, test and take the risk, either win and get the best place to bet or lose.

It's not difficult for me because I make sure I only gamble on a site with a good reputation, not saying my money are safe because there's always a risk of losing our money, but at least, with a reputable gambling site, the risk is very low. Also, always bear in mind that you should be ready if something happens with your money as we have to gamble what we can afford only.
2423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October on: August 20, 2022, 11:36:18 AM

But it will be interesting what the sports bookies will open up the Over and Under odds. You reckon it will be on the 7.5 rounds as well? Or will it be 10.5?

For sure odds will be available soon, or Loma by KO in rounds (1-3) (4-6) (7-9) (10-12), we just have to choose from the round ranges. However, if the over/under odds is 7.5, I will take the under for sure.

I would choose 6 rounds and below, which means 2 bets on the round ranges. I'm sure the odds would still make me profitable if that would hit since usually, it's +300 up. Loma is not really a very aggressive fighter, he likes to take it slow while dismantling his opponent, so rounds 6 below will have higher betting odds than rounds 7 over.
2424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 20, 2022, 10:14:24 AM
They can if they let go of Westbrook. A big chunk of their budget is getting eaten by Westbrook's contract. So, it will even out if they trade Westbrook to Kyrie.

I do not know if the Nets will ever find a trade for these players. Their asking price is way too high for other teams to afford, unless the other teams are desperate to get Kyrie or Durant. I think these two will remain nets.

Yeah, if the Lakers really want Irving, they will need to trade Westbrook anyway. However, the problem is that the Nets aren't particularly interested in Westbrook, which means the Lakers need to find a third team who will agree to be part of the deal and want Westbrook with such a huge contract. Honestly, I doubt any other team would be willing to participate in a deal like that.

Maybe they are interested of Davis, however, I don't think the Lakers would let go of Davis and keep Westbrook, so in short, this trade is not going to happen as they don't agree with the terms. Safe to say that Irving will stay as a Nets and will help the team together with Durant to win a championship.

No, they will not let go of Davis. It was clear that Davis will be their main man this season just like how they run it in Disneyland. Maybe both Lakers and Nets should give their trio another run. It may not end so badly this time. The key to the Lakers is that Davis remains healthy. If he does, their trio is a monster. The Nets, maybe there will be no more drama, and their trio can work together to get their own championship.

Maybe they are just waiting for Simmons to improve, their deficiency last season was their defense, and we know that Simmons is a great defensive player, so they would already solve their problem as long as Simmons is healthy which for sure he is next season. They have to be patient, give it a time, Harden is out but they have Simmons who is also a superstar.

No takers for my bet for SMB here? The game is tomorrow so we still have some time if you wanna bet for TNT, quote this post please.

Seemed like everyone here except Harizen is rooting for the SMB to win.

I have checked the betting odds and I don't see it yet, maybe tonight the odds will be out and we will have an idea of who is the favorite to win between these two teams. Regardless, I'm still with you because I like SMB in this match-up.

We know that SMB here a lot of fans, so most posters here are rooting for SMB to win, however, that still depends on their performance, maybe some are just waiting for the action before they put their bet. If this series with be tied at 1-1, then we can call those who wants to bet, maybe that time we will see bettors on different sides.
2426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 19, 2022, 11:24:24 AM

Maybe they are also on the process or discussion on how to maximize their profits and make the fight bigger than mega-fight as an undisputed fight is really rare to happen in the boxing industry, also, I happen to read somewhere that Spence's camp is asking for Crawford's camp to help Spence sell and market the fight as he couldn't carry all the load even if he is the king of PPV. Don't know if it's really true but both of them should really try to sell the fight even if they know that their fight is much anticipated.

They share the obligation but I'm curious since both fighters are top calibers and their names already have market value.

I don't see any needs of selling as in one formal announcement of this possible fight fans will be there to support, especially the gambling industry

Exerting more effort into the marketing will help them sell more, more PPV and gate entrance means more money, and probably more sponsorship as well. This is an anticipated fight and it could only happen once, so they have to take this opportunity to make more money.
2427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 19, 2022, 10:54:10 AM

Anyone who would like to bet for TNT, just quote this post as i have some extra money for betting for the SMB Beermen.

@Fredomago is right, @harizen, I know there's an ongoing betting again, but that was before this finals series, maybe some posters here still want to join and that would give us all an opportunity to bet. Waiting for this as well, I'm fine with 1k pesos minimum.
2428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on How to Manage Gambling Addiction an Open Discussion. on: August 18, 2022, 02:38:59 PM
Having a gambling addiction is a big problem for a gambler, whether we admit it or not. A disease that is contagious but not fatal. It seems like it becomes inborn in a person who is a gambler. That's why if he wants to lose his addiction to gambling it's his own decision and in my opinion a therapist is the best to consult on this matter. So @OP has done this very well for the awareness among the members here in the forum. Great job!

Gambling addiction may not be fatal but it can lead to destruction.  There are several stories regarding gambling addiction and most of them are almost left with nothing.  Family, friends, assets, money and even self-respect.  We have seen several families being destroyed because the husband or wife is addicted to gambling and unable to function properly to do their family duty.  Friends are betrayed because of borrowing money and are unable to return it.

Indeed! That's for sure a fact but unfortunately, people already know these kinds of things but they still chose to gamble even though the risk is unimaginable and their lives is also at stake as well as their family because they will be the first ones that gets affected if one of their family member will be addicted in gambling. And just like what you said, friends will likely to get affected too because they are a part of your circle.
2429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 18, 2022, 02:04:51 PM
At certain age, if you yourself will know its time. Its not like other career that doesn't need agility of your youth.  Your skills doesn't depend on how fast you chop the spices but how good the taste of the recipe.

For us speculators, it's easy to say that they should just retire. We can't feel their desire to continue.

As for me, we should just let them do what they want. If at some point they experienced terrible losses and they feel their body is not cooperating now, they will retire right away without any hesitations. And even for let's say they want to continue, the promoters or organizers might not be interested now to form a fight and that will lead that old boxer to consider retiring and call it a career.

Yes mate, of course they have their own reasons why they still choose to fight even though they are not that young anymore and even though most of the fans wanted them to retire because of the age factor, part of those reasons why they still continue is that they believe that they can still deliver a win in the fights they participate because the power is still their and somehow they are agile enough to keep up with their foes.
2430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: August 17, 2022, 06:43:24 PM
I believe that Ancajas can redeem and avenge his loss in this rematch because, in the first place, he didn't expect to fight Martinez that time because he was preparing for Ioka. I know that it ain't enough reason because boxers are expected to be versatile and fight back-up boxers if ever their foes are having some problems. But this time, I know he can and for sure I'll also bet on him even if he's an underdog or favorite.

I don't think that statement should make sense. Regardless if Ancajas is preparing for Ioka, not for Martinez, before, the bottom line is, that he is preparing because there's an upcoming match. Let's stop now giving reasons why Ancajas lose in their first match but instead hope for the best that he can win in this rematch.

I have no way to support Martinez that's why I hope those flaws done by Ancajas in their first match should not be repeated. Jerwin Ancajas should get back his IBF Super Flyweight title that he holds for around 6 years with 10 title defenses. That's his comfort zone.

The title is badly missing him now unless no more interest to stay with him lol.

Well, you made your point and I agree with it! Let's just support Ancajas and believe in him without some kind of fuss about his loss against Martinez in their first engagement because that won't amount to anything even if his reasons were true or if he didn't come prepared against Martinez.

The latter was kind of lucky that time because he pulled a victory and upset's Ancajas who held the belt for quite some time. He better avenge his loss though Cool
2431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 17, 2022, 06:17:29 PM
There's no more excuse for them as they have the big 3 now.
Durant, Irving, Simmons.
This big 3 is strong enough to bring this team into the championship, the only problem is their chemistry and the two superstars passion to play as they have asked to be traded, hopefully that will not affect their performance in the season to come.
Yes in papers they are big 3, but for sure you know that problem right? It's not just the chemistry but the whole attitude, Durant requested to be traded, he thinks he has in control, same with Kyrie, doesn't want to get vaccinated, the team suffers and come play-off time, this 2 disappears. The the drama queen Ben Simmons, can he still play next season? There are more questions right now in terms of the whole Nets organization, everything is not on the same page.

On paper, this team does not have any problems. But in reality, the players we call the big 3 are actually causing some problems. There is no doubt that Durant's request to be traded is the biggest problem with the team right now. A player requesting to play for another team but eventually staying is not a positive sign at all. There will be a lot of variables that might effect his gameplay after this.

It seems to me that Kyrie's problem is not that big of a deal since at least he doesn't have any problems playing for the team, doesn't he?

I bet the rest of the Brooklyn Nets roster is now having some doubts against KD as he might be not reliable enough just like the last season where he carried most of the load that made the team cross the playoffs. A player requesting a trade is really bad sign if that player still ends up playing the same team next season because the demand has not been meet by other teams and that's the situation of the Nets now.

Kyrie on the other hand doesn't have any problem at all and actually he said that he will stay and play for the Nets even if KD is not around with them anymore.
2432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 17, 2022, 05:50:07 PM
Ennis name though is cropping up, at least I heard Crawford talk about him, meaning he is all aware of what is going on in his division and maybe looking at the threat outside already, good sign of a well IQ boxer.

Because PBC is grooming Ennis as its next welterweight star. He is a good fighter with an excellent record of 29-0-27 but I feel like PBC is babying him. Unlike Butaev and Stanionis who only got 14 and 15 fights only but they already held the WBA regular belt and fought each other too. Vergil and Spence used to be friends as both came from Texas but there was a time that they had beef a few years ago but was settled later on. There were also talks about Vergil Ortiz and Bud Crawford before but it didn't materialize. I believe these 4 young stars will beat Thurman and maybe Crawford and Spence too after a year or two. That's why Bud and Spence should really fight this year and then they can move up in weight in order to fight the other big names.

Thanks for this info mate, seems to me that you are one of the walking vocabularies in boxing on this forum  Smiley.

I also think that Top Rank also has be blamed for why Crawford has not faced other big names in the welterweight division as for me they are babying him and not rushing him to fight the likes of Spence or Thurman but on the other hand, it might also have some advantages as hyping fighters will make more money in the end.

I noticed that too, @inthelongrun is really good when it comes to sports news in this forum as he always knows the latest trend or news. Grin

Bob Arum was the brainchild behind Crawford's situation because Bob indeed babysit the latter for quite a long time that's why Crawford just managed to grab one belt in the welterweight division but I'm also thinking that if I were Bob, maybe I did the same thing he did because maintaining your cow is really one of the best decision to do to keep the cash flowing but for the boxer's side, they always want legacy.

Really well write up you’ve created here and I certainly hope that anyone who is currently struggling with gambling addiction can take some time to read over this very well crafted post, and try and get the help that they need. I just hope those who are in this bad spot know that they are not alone !
Exactly it's really hard time when you are addicted to something and that can ruin your life so w need to help them out in these cases. The thread throws light on some of these points and how should we become responsible gambler and always play in our limits.Lending a helping hand to these people provide them mental support which is very essential for them.

As the topic said, this thread right here contains some tips on how to manage your struggles with gambling addiction and to let them know that they aren't the ones who are struggling the same reason as this addiction is very common in almost every country in this world.
But sometimes, even the addicted gamblers doesn't know that they are already in a deep situation as for them it's just a regular habit that is why we need to have that someone who will always light us about our status or some fellow family member.
2434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 17, 2022, 05:09:34 PM
I already anticipated that Canelo will still be the favorite in the bookies list this time but I expect that this time, Canelo won't have some help from the judges because this might be their final match, so a just and clean fight is really needed this time especially for GGG's situation.

But if Canelo will win this time then he can chose to move down or move up and challenge any boxer in light-heavy before he decides to have a rematch against Bivol as Bivol already said that he's not interesting to fight Canelo in a non-title fight.

Bivol may not agree to a fight against Canelo in the United States. Because his payment for the last fight is still blocked due to the sanctions against Russia. He may prefer fighting in the Middle East, but that may be unacceptable and financially unviable for Canelo. Bivol needs to fight in the United States, if there is a mandatory title challenge. But he is not going to do that for non-title fights. And I don't see a clear solution here. Bivol may not get any payment if he takes part in any activity inside the US. Another solution would be to move the fight to Mexico. I guess Canelo would be OK with that?

Is that right? Didn't know about that at all because I thought that the boxing industry got that cleared including the issues of the fight that won't be sanctioned because of the ongoing war between Russia against Ukraine.

Well, if that is the issue right there then Bivol shouldn't agree to have a rematch with Canelo (if that will happen soon) if the fight will take place again on US soil. Mexico or somewhere in UAE will still be favorable for the both parties as I think money will always follow Canelo.
2435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 16, 2022, 11:22:01 PM
Kambosos already lost all of his belts, so there's no reason either Lopez or Kambosos need a rematch since they're didn't get anything and only risking their good record. It's too soon for the rematch, I think if Lopez is already start collecting a belt and Kambosos move up to light welterweight division, the rematch would happen on the new division. Of course it will be on the same hype since Kambosos will become a challenger again.

That would be a blockbuster fight once again because as we saw Lopez with his last Saturday, he is back again and can really compete at his best or even more strong this time. They became rivals in this era, hope they will gonna fight again soon because fans are loving to see it. It's not really a bad idea for them to see each other again in that division since they already went through a number of fights in the lower divisions, and their body will soon adapt to fight in the light welterweight division.

I'm okay with Kambosos vs Lopez rematch, no belts but these two gave a very entertaining fight, so we can expect that many fans will watch this and they'll be able to sell a good PPV numbers. Teo is trying to be a a champion in the new division, but he has not proven anything yet since the last fight was obviously a cherry picked one.

Same here, that will be a perfect chance for Teo Lopez to avenge his loss during their first encounter but I guess this time it will not be called a rematch, right? If that will happen, I think I'll go with Lopez as I believe that he can really defeat Kambosos back at the time in their first match, it's just that Lopez was a bit big-headed and overconfident that he can successfully defend his belt against Kambosos.
2436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on How to Manage Gambling Addiction an Open Discussion. on: August 16, 2022, 11:00:08 PM
To stop an addiction, like gambling for example, you need to think about how it triggers.

So, let's say you gamble every time you finish work for example.

You need to find another activity that makes you feel good at that time to replace gambling.

So, for example, you go out to exercise. Or go watch a movie, or whatever it is that makes you feel good, whenever that trigger appears.

Over time you'll reduce the gambling voices in your head and they will be replaced by the exercise or movie voices.

Easier said than done mate, it really takes enough amount of courage to outsmart your habits and sometimes, getting professional help will be needed if you're that already deep because that habit becomes an addiction that you cannot turn your back into as you're already so accustomed to gambling and you cannot weigh down the things which is right or wrong.

But you're also right, we just have to take that step in-order to leave those kind of things.
When you do make yourself get addicted then it would really be that hard to get rid off things easy and its true that to those words saying that you should quit immediately are the ones who dont have that idea on how
hard it is on quitting or avoiding yourself in addiction because this isnt something that you could really get away specially when yourself is already get used to it or already making it up as a habit which it would really be
that hard for you to get out and neither you would really be quitting by yourself only or would really be needing some help from others and it would really be depending on the situation.
IF you do find yourself to be that impulsive towards gambling on early phase then you should consider on quitting immediately to avoid bigger problems.

Yup, kind of an overstatement to say that just quit it and forget it immediately because it is not that easy to turn your back on the vices and addictions you've been into. And if it is always that easy to do then I bet there are no people in the world right now who are struggling to quit their vices and addiction.
Seeking professional help can be done to somehow shorten the process and letting your family know your situation will be helpful so that they will also know how to help you but that opening up to someone is also not that easy to do that's why many are struggling to quit their addictions up to now.
2437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 16, 2022, 10:38:27 PM
Sooner or later, Canelo and Bivol will again face each other for a rematch because super-middle is a kind of boring division to Canelo as he's already undisputed at the said division.

Yes, Bivol and Canelo might face in the rematch. However, Bivol makes it clear that if that's not a title match, he will ignore Canelo.

Bivol's next target is another title and probably against Beterviev.

Canelo really needs tons of improvement to challenge these champions.

That is good and Bivol is reasonable enough though because why would he accept Canelo's request for a rematch if there's nothing in the line and it will be just a fight for redemption in Canelo's favor and nothing for Bivol if the Russian boxer will win.

An undisputed match in the light-heavyweight division looks interesting though Grin two LHW champions with a flawless record especially Beterbiev who always win by a way of TKO or KO.
2438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: August 16, 2022, 09:56:50 PM
Yup, i have this feeling that he would avenge his loss but just be careful not to put much money on him because we never know the outcome. It's a good thing though that he would be the underdog now because even if we put a small amount, it will win a bit bigger unlike if he is the favorite.
I'm betting on him here, underdog or not, it doesn't matter, what's important is to win and go for a trilogy.

I'm hoping as well, who wouldn't want a trilogy? of course, that will make the fight more interesting, and I'm pretty sure that the promoters are already expecting a big profit on that as the fight are hyped up due to the result of the rematch. If that will happen, I guess Anacajas will gain full confidence and I wouldn't be surprise that he will be the betting favorite.

2439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 16, 2022, 09:33:49 PM
I still think that fully healthy Nets for a whole year could end up being great. Last year, at the start of the season the talks were about Lakers vs Nets finals, with harden instead of Simmons obviously, we all saw the result of that.

And neither one of those 2 teams made it at least through the Conference Finals because each team is having their own sort of problem at that time and only the Nets made it to the playoffs but were swept by the Boston Celtics in the first round.

While Lakers were also struggling in the regular season because AD was injured and WB cannot find his rhythm.
2440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 15, 2022, 10:13:44 PM
Spence should stop making excuses, he should focus on his fight with Crawford and make sure it will happen his year. There's no reason that they will move when one of them cannot be an undisputed champion, I hope they will not be greedy, it's time to give the fans what we are hoping to see.

I'm not aware that Spence is doing excuses for this fight not to happened. Both sides are even silent.

Are you talking about today's negotiation and Spence is doing excuses? Or you are referring to the previous attempts to organize this fight?

If you are referring to Spence's excuses in today's negotiations, can you provide a link for that? I tried to search for it but found nothing. What I see is only a lack of information about the status of this fight and that article shared above.

Nah, Crawford is not silent and I understand why he is so keen to put some pressure to make the fight happen because time is not on his side while Spence is still fresh this year from his fight with Ugas that resulted in a TKO in his favor. Crawford has been giving updates but the bottom line of that update is that both camps are yet to agree on something.

Still on the negotiation process, I guess, no update yet from both camps. The chance of making this fight to happen is to have a common

goal of bringing the entertainment back to the fans. If both will sit and discuss the terms, maybe both camps will have something to

agree in between, but we still don't hear anything, maybe more hypes for both sides. We really don't know what will be the conclusion regarding

to deal and if both camps will sign the contract.
