2421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin *21 Exchanges *20 merchants on: March 18, 2014, 12:28:19 AM
Just today at least two new merchants have been added. I think the devs are doing a pretty good job and I think we all need to be a little more patient. And I agree with sixteendigits, the community around this coin has grown to the point where success is not solely dependent upon the actions of one person or team anymore- it is dependent on the actions of the community as a whole.
1. Release to February 15th - mainly dev
2. February 16th to err... beginning of March - mainly extended team
3. Beginning of March to now - dev and extended team. The dev is closing more and more deals with merchants and this is starting to show

This is my own analysis, nothing official.

I also noticed a significant turnover in the active persons. Almost none of the original member of the extended team are showing up anymore. Maybe it means the newest active persons will have a different, longer-term focus. Or maybe the new active will leave in two weeks also. I don't know but it is interesting, at least to study it as a social phenomenon.

Needless to say, the more active users we have, the better I'll feel Smiley

I am pretty sure it didn't register that you were on that list. I don't agree with you being on the troll list and I doubt David would.
Sorry about the list. When I suggested an "official maintainer", I was not target any person in the list, it was just an tongue-in-cheek remark.

That was I mistake from my part. I do not approve no condomne any person being on any list. Neither will I ask someone to be added or removed of a list.

David, I really don't understand a lot of your posts. You are a member of the Mintcoin team, and it seems very counterproductive to ask about other coins(you've done this several times).

Yesterday, you fumbled some math and said you were disappointed in the amount of Mint you received from the staking process.  Your posts don't exactly inspire confidence in Mintcoin. I'm sorry, but I felt like something needed to be said. Luckily, we have a community with many intelligent members, here is one:

Thanks to Hybridsole over at Reddit for his article:

http://coinjoint.info/mintcoin-maximize-interest-earned-coins/
I guess David Latapie doesn't like being contradicted. People can check my post history. I've been one of this coins biggest supporters.
I'm interested in crypto, not mintcoin alone. FYI I will introduce crypto a to a very large IRL bank in around one week. I am learning everyday and my questions are part of my learning.
I make mistakes? Well, everyone does, that the way we learn. If you believe that a team leader should be perfect, I suggest you try to actually lead a team one day. Then we'll see. I personally do not believe in the "shining leader", the one hiding any mistake lest it would make his teammates afraid. I much prefer the "human leader", full of imperfection with whom teamates may identify themselves.

Regarding your last comment:  I suppose you are saying I do not like to be contradicted because I did not reply sooner to your post? Well, I'll tell you one thing: I'm doing other stuff. Wow, surprised, hey? And I have no problem being contradicted, as long as this is in a constructive way (your post was constructive, so it is okay :-))
2424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin *21 Exchanges *20 merchants on: March 18, 2014, 12:06:49 AM
Sweeet. More and more merchants everyday!
Indeed. We should start measuring how many merchants per day are added. Someone to webscrap the whole thread and do some regexp to check this and get an average value with a nice history curve (hint; merchants are usually announced by mintcointeam)?
I have a website where we can update all the stores and services that accept mint. We can keep updated directories and get the logo next to all the stores so you can easily tell what accepts MINT.

I must admit, we been so busy designing and setting up that I have not had a chance to review MINT lately. If anyone can email me at xxxxxx with a list of all the relevant stores, services, and general info on the coin it would be a big help.
Thanks. I sent you a mail (as well as a request for an adoption curve).

Voilà, comme pour les mcxFEE de mcxnow, c'est de l'arnaque:

CryptoRushShares: not worth it?

J'ai mis le tableau à disposition, vous êtes invité à revoir les formules si ça ne vous parait pas correct.
2426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoRushShares: not worth it? on: March 17, 2014, 11:11:10 PM
You need to double your fees (0.36, not 0.18).  There are buy and sell fees for every transaction.
Thanks now with doubling the fees. I also corrected the values to get more accurate data. At present volume, price of CRS and values of LTC and DOGE, the ROI is more than 5 years. If the traffic doubles, it could be interesting (it is already more interesting than mcxFEEs, one reason being we know the formula).
CryptoRushShares (CRS) ROI
2427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoRushShares: not worth it? on: March 17, 2014, 10:38:57 PM
I just read the formula and recalculated accordingly:

((volume-of-btc/100)*0.18) / 100000000

At current rate it means (volume of BTC is 34.0044 for today)
Code:
((34.0044/100)*0.18)/100000000
     (0.340044*0.18)/100000000
          0,06120792/100000000
  0,0000000006120792
1 CRS = 0,0000000006120792 BTC
cost of 1 CRS = 0.00001950 BTC
ROI for 1 CRS (days) = 0.00001950/0.0000000006120792 =
Code:
31859 days
 4551 weeks+
 1061 months+
   87 years+
Assuming we double because the day is not over yet, this would mean 43 years of ROI.

I leave it to to draw conclusions on who really is the winner here.
2428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypto Rush - Crypto to Crypto exchange on: March 17, 2014, 10:24:42 PM
anybody understand the inner workings or CRS
If 25 years of ROI is your cup of tea, feel free Smiley
Otherwise avoid this scam which is similar to mcxFEE scam (except maybe if you use it only for day-trading)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=407705.msg5753459#msg5753459

Update: Better yet now that I have the formula:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OEE1qXwxX-sx_mrfKOkW5bPwaDapGIjXs6OIdynRMyk/edit#gid=0
At current CRS, LTC and DOGE prices and at current volume, the ROI is more than 5 years.
At 1000 satoshi, I might buy.
2429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / CryptoRushShares: not worth it? on: March 17, 2014, 10:21:08 PM
Aye, at current exchange volumes, 1 BTC worth of CRS at the current .00001950 BTC/CRS availability will net you a whopping $0.51 USD/0.0008 BTC per WEEK.  Definitely not worth the risk of these people scooting off with my BTC

Figures used:

Daily volume: 256.7972004
Trading fees charged: 0.36% (0.18% on the buy side, 0.18% on the sell side)
Take 25% of the above figure to find the BTC dividends to be payed out
1 BTC will buy you 51282.051 CRS, and there are a total of 100,000,000 CRS available

[(256.7972004*0.0036*0.25)*(51,282.051/100,000,000)]*7 days a week = 0.0008 BTC
So at current price and volume, this means an ROI of around 25 years (0.0008*52*25=1,04)!
How did this guy above calculated a 30 days ROI...Alright, found out how Cheesy

It seems to me that shares=scam
I'll stick with just-dice (and doge-dice which as a higher profit when the dogecoin is not down).
2430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / CryptoRushShares: not worth it? on: March 17, 2014, 10:12:16 PM
ETA: There are currently 14,881,380 CRS for sale on cryptorush for a total of 1500 BTC.  Daily volume in btc @ 25% is ~50 BTC.  ROI is roughly 30 days, not bad at all IF that's the entire 25% issue.
Can you give me your formula? I want to calculate if it is still interesting now. I created a spreasheet, I encourage you to fill it in:
CryptoRushShares (CRS) ROI
I wouldn't buy that shit. Cryptorush is buggy as hell and they keep the same devs. And last but not least, where is your ROI if all of a sudden the exchange is closed and they run away with the coins (like gox, coinmarket.io,...). This could be the ultimate scam: ask people to buy shares and run away with the coins of the clients. Double win. This is not so unrealistic as people behind that aren't the most honest people in the cryptoworld.
My best advice is: chose a coin with a fair distribution and with a good dev who takes care of the coin and of the opinion of the people involved. There aren't that many.

Of course, you do what you want with your money  Smiley
Thanks. At the moment, I am trying to pay back my newbie mistakes in the cryptocoin community (BTC included) and then I will probably invest in Nxt, the one coin I like (plus a bit of NEM and BTC - hopefully mintcoin will work too).

Thanks again.
2431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / CryptoRushShares: not worth it? on: March 17, 2014, 10:08:43 PM
Hi,

I tried to evaluate the ROI (return on investment of CRS), with the assumption that I will not sell it:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OEE1qXwxX-sx_mrfKOkW5bPwaDapGIjXs6OIdynRMyk/edit#gid=0

As I did with mcxFEES, I feel like it is completely unprofitable (ROI of 74 years).
Someone says that the ROI when it was at 1500 satoshi the ROI was 30 days. With my calculation, the ROI at 1500 is 57 years. Maybe this person calculated the time to erase the transaction fee of buying and selling back at same price, I don't know.

Anyway, I'd like some input. Are my formulae wrong, can you give me a correct one? I'm most interested in fire-and-forget strategy, I don't want to spend my life glaring at a monitor and day-trading.
Thank you.

Current Mintcoin Ignore List:

Turds and Trolls Worth Ignoring

1. ManOnTheMoon
2. GingerMod
3. thisisit
4. deadmanwalking
5. mr_random
I'm not sure how I'll survive without you 5. You are a fun and hilarious bunch of cuddly trolls, but you are also spreading FUD. I'll try to make it through the day without you...
Party Hard, I officially nominate you as the "Trolls list maintainer" Smiley
(is their bumping better than the FUD the propagate? Dunno)

I find it easier to communicate with various team members by mail, that's why you won't see much activity from me except to announce that something goes live.
What kind of support do you need?
I'll tell you all once I have emptied the todolist. Answering now would just disperse energy. I add you to the list of would-be helpers.
2436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin *21 Exchanges *19 merchants on: March 17, 2014, 07:10:47 PM
haha sorry that was mine, I dumped 1 million to invest a little bit more into SPA. It will get a pump and ill sell all my SPA then. Ill reinvest all the profits into MINT.
How high do you think SPA will go?

Hope you're right bro! Really hope so. What else can we as coin holders do to help out the entire effort? I've already annoyed everyone I knoe telling them about Mintcoin and I've given away 50,000 to people to get them to download the wallet and get into the coin. Any ideas about what else to do?
I am back from holiday and I am actively organising the various projects. If you are interested to join the club, PM. We have a lot of projects, right what we need is a general overseering, which is my present occupation.

just got my 1st minted coins, damn that looks sexy
I finally got some minted coins after 20 neverending days.
I received 77000 mintcoins from a 10 millions stack. Does it feel normal, particularly high or particularly low for you? Notice I did not receive anything else since then.
How do free money feel like?
Disappointing.
I expected more.

Correct me if I'm wrong:
1. 20% first year, with payout every 20 days
2. 365 days in one year => every payout shall represent 18,25% or the 20% interest (18,25*20=365). That is, 0,0365% of my total
3. My total is 10 millions mints (I'm talking of 10 millions of 20 days old mints). Thus, 0,0365% of 10 millions is 365000.
4. I received 77251 mints. Less than a quarter of what I should have receive.

I hope my calculations are wrong; correct me it this is the case.
