2441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: January 09, 2022, 08:58:14 AM

In this fight, I can say that both sides have studied well about each other's weakness and movements. So, it will just a matter of who's punches will connect and the first to make a lethal blow. But these things is just a mere speculations, we will see it soon as they fight.

We have our own biased speculation and personally, I would bet on Magsayo although I know that Russell is not an easy opponent to crack. This is just an opportunity for us bettors to get good underdog odds as Rusell is heavily favored, so I'm very excited to see the odds so I can place my bet early.

And again, most here in this board or at least in boxing threads are Filipinos so there is the biased to bet on their fellow country man. But you can't blame them as Filipinos are known to have a history of good boxers you performed better under the spotlight like Manny, Nonito, Casimero and others in the past. And if the better odds goes like and Magsayo is an underdog then it's really a good bet on him as you know, maybe he can really pull some upsets here.
2442  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to hit $100k? on: January 09, 2022, 08:36:58 AM
I think it's obvious that it's going to be a difficult ride to $100k with the way the market is moving right now. I mean where is the money? Investors are very reluctant for now, not just in crypto but also in stocks and even gold. All investors are somewhat taken aback by all the happenings around the world specially the effect of the Omicron virus and other economic and political tensions. So I will say that $100k might not be viable for this year.
2443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 09, 2022, 02:39:39 AM
I was in that same dilemma when I am looking at the spreads so I checked the injury report. It's just Jrue Holiday that is listed so I took the bet as fast as I could for the Bucks. I hope it's not a trap.  Cry
Bucks -1.5. - Yeah, I even took the -1.5 bet because I thought it was a mistake from betting lines. Well, will just cheer for the Bucks anyway.
Going for the Bucks as well, I think the reason why the odds are this close is because the Hornets have a solid home record and their recent home losses are against the top teams like Suns and Sixers. While the Bucks are looking somewhat better it's still a toss up game knowing they could still lose to a weaker team like the Pistons at any given day plus they have little rest since they're on a back to back game. Regardless I see some value on the Bucks at plus odds.  Grin

Unfortunately, the Bucks lost in this game with a 8 point lead. I haven't watch the game but it seems that it was only Jrue that didn't play but it was a late comeback from the Bucks.

Giannis though scored 43 big points but it was not enough, only 3 players scored double digits for the Bucks. So also a lost for me, although I'm 1/1 with the Memphis win.
2444  Economy / Speculation / Re: What about 2022? on: January 08, 2022, 05:09:01 AM
There is no way to predict whether Bitcoin will fall in 2022 or any other year.
and the cryptocurrency market is highly volatile and can be affected by a variety of factors, including global economic conditions, regulatory changes, and fluctuations in demand.
there is definitely a risk that the value of Bitcoin could drop significantly in 2022 or in the future. So, if you are thinking of investing in Bitcoin, it is important to understand the risks involved and only put money into it that you can afford to lose.
this year has only been eight days and the journey is still long and nothing is impossible for bitcoin because bitcoin can easily turn things around and I am very optimistic that this year and in the near future there will be a new ATH.

It could be that we are just 8 days in this year, but sure did it was a bad indication for thing to comes as the price is on the lower $40k right now. So you can't blame the majority thinking that we are really in a bear trend at least short term because of this price movement right in our face.

So it's better not to expect a new ATH just saying, so that we won't be disappointed. Just like when everyone is thinking $100k this December, it turns out to be $50k or less. It's good to be optimistic, but at the same time you need to be realistic as well.
2445  Economy / Speculation / Re: are we going to have "fear" months? on: January 08, 2022, 04:14:48 AM
We can't categorically call if 'fear' months, maybe we can see occasional dumps along the way.

But I do believed that there are smart investors or at least those who have matured enough to take advantage of this dumping and buy bitcoin at a cheap price to at least halt the incoming dumps.

Just a question on what will be the best price to enter amidst the selling pressure.
2446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 08, 2022, 03:46:34 AM
Finally.
'Real deal' GP2 getting guaranteed contract from Warriors
Quote
“I’m going to make that decision right now – sorry Bob,” Kerr said before tipoff against the Pelicans in New Orleans. “We’re going to guarantee him the rest of the year.”
Quote
The partial guarantee of $350,000 becomes fully guaranteed at $1.94 million. Payton has, honestly, performed beyond the value of both.
Quote
“Gary’s a two-way player,” Kerr said. “When you are that elite defensively, the question in the playoffs becomes can you survive offensively. This is a guy who is among the league leaders in field-goal percentage. He’s got a knack around the rim; we’ve seen it every single night, whether it’s in transition or offensive boards or playing in the dunker spot. He’s dramatically improved his 3-point shot.
I thought they never will. He is a good player and they said his weakness was his shooting capabilities but he did put a lot of effort into practicing and we saw his percentage shoot up. Then there's the defensive specialty. Steals per game is 1.3 but most of it will not be seen in the stats sheet. Stopping a star player (guard) from acquiring the ball using the box one play is where he excels.

Thanks mate for the update, was surprised to hear it though, and I thought that GP2 has a contract already in the beginning of the season.

But he really perform very well as he proved his last name as a Warriors, he can played and close anyone in the league specially guards and SG with his defense and then we see some highlight dunks too. So good move by the Warriors for a guarantee contract.
2447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 08, 2022, 03:14:09 AM
Good win by the Raptors against the Utah, although the Jazz is empty as most of their players didn't play, but still a win is a win:

VanFleet another monster game and his first triple double of his career, 37-10-10.

He has been on a roll for the last couple of games for the Raptors so watch out for this team the next few games as they might pull a big upset if they are the underdogs.
2448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 07, 2022, 06:00:27 PM

I think Thurman really went over board with his trash talking to Pacquiao, or maybe that is not his personality after all....

We thought he went overboard because we bought his trash talk. what matters is in the end they become friends and there's no trash talk anymore. If Thurman was real with his statement, it would be hard for him to accept his losses but he was humble on his defeat and he showed good sportsmanship so he gain respect despite his trash talk.

Yeah, I think he made the fight sell with all his argument of "I'm going to retire Manny Pacquiao".

So we try to watch the fight but it didn't happen, quite on the contrary though, he gets knock down on the first round, then tries to rally back but Pacquiao has a tough chin and then scoring with good body shots on Thurman and it was enough to escape for a great win.

Thurman then eats his word but acknowledge that he underestimate Manny back then and sure enough he went for a long layoff and think all over again and what to do with his career.

I guess he really tries to attack Manny with those kind of word, I mean it's a psyche war. But knowing Manny, who has met a lot of trash talking during his career, he was not bother by any of the words throw by Thurman.

But let's see what Thurman's trash talking will be against Barrios, maybe when they have a face-off he will used the argument that he was beaten by a little guy in Tank Davis or something like that.
2449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE BULL RIDE OF 2021 on: January 07, 2022, 12:59:08 PM
Game based NFT projects will never lack behind, it's been a dream of many to play games and still earn money in the process and this is a dream come true with NFT, the demand will always be there, if you planning to build a portfolio for the future make sure it doesn't lack NFT projects
Well it's very obvious NFT projects will trend very well even in season of bearish sentiment based on the fact that gaming projects is gaining momentum due to its widespread adoption, the consign here is for investors to research and invest on feasible project with a future prospect to avoid losing their hard earned money, with reference to AXS it is a good project and a lot testimonies was made by it investors, I am very sure few more of new  NFT projects will boom this year.

But I guess it will still be very hard for NFT to grow like 2021 because of the bearish sentiments. The market won't move wherein all investors are just going to put their money on NFT's specially in a bear market. So it might grow, but it will be very slow as well and maybe it can also experience some downtrends as other hype projects in 2022. So let's see how it pan out, this year will be very critical for all of us specially altcoin markets as it might spell loom or doom, just saying.
2450  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin first week price speculation on: January 07, 2022, 12:31:09 PM
It seems that now is not a good start of the year for bitcoin, in january 2022 the bitcoin price movement is actually getting weaker and even now the price is starting to touch the $42K figure from the $46K price a few days ago, and it looks like this decline will continue, if you seeing some predictions of bitcoin analysis available today, many of them conclude that it is possible that bitcoin prices will be able to touch the $40K-$41K price level, so, I think right now better for us to see the situation first before pressing the buy button.
People were expecting bullish, but what happened was a correction. However this situation is not entirely bad for investors especially if they like to carry out an accumulation strategy during price correction. This may not be good for those who don't like this strategy, but buying during the correction for the longer term will be good when we realize that ATH is a sure thing for the price. Of course this is not a good condition for selling, but it is much better if you consider buying every drop of it.

Oh well, everything is really speculation until we see what's going to happen. I mean when we hit new ATH, everyone is shouting for a 6 digit price in December. But that completely change with the Omicron news and investors started to panic again and sell. And now that we are in 2022 already, there is no correction, but indeed we are now in the worst bear market.
2451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 07, 2022, 12:05:20 PM
Golden State Warriors got their second consecutive loss in their game vs New Orleans Pelicans last night. It was a loss by 101-96 though. Even though they lost by a close gap, they really felt the absence of Curry in this game. He's got muscle injury and couldn't play. But I'm expecting him to play in the next one. And their next game is on January 10 which means we could see Thompson also in that game. If we see him, I'd probably not miss it.

Yeah, majority of the bettors still expects the Warriors to win despite Curry's absence. As we all know there are a lot of players that can step up like Poole and Wiggins and GP and Lee. But it was just a off-night for them as it seems they can't get anything in rhythm and they play bad defense too. Anyhow, they are still in the top and then we will see Thompson and that it what we are anticipating as we wanted to see Klay again in the court.
2452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 07, 2022, 11:45:28 AM
Only a couple games tonight but I like 2 home teams.

Gimme the KNICKS getting 2 points at home.  Celts are decent but lost 5 in a row on the road and the second game of a back to back.

Then...give me the Pelicans -1 against the Warriors.  Won't say that too often but GS has a ton of guys benched.  Pretty much Wiggins and Poole versus the Pelicans.  Gimme the home team here and an L for the Warriors.

Good luck everyone tonight all!

Good if you got the Pels at -1 mate, because GSW doesn't have answer to Brandon Ingram.

And when we thought that Jordan Poole will step up in the absence of Steph Curry, he just had a measly game. Wiggins lead the way with 21 points but it wasn't enough.

They've tied the game at the end of 3rd or start of the 4th if I'm not mistaken but the Pels scored 6 successive points and that cushion was enough.
2453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The faith of Altcoins in 2022 on: January 06, 2022, 04:32:40 AM
I think cryptocurrencies will continue to grow even though it continues to rise or fall the market can be bearish but in the next year we will see tremendous hype like 2021. I don't really expect 2022 to be bigger. It would be better if cryptocurrencies grew purely without manipulation. My only hope is that a concept that could previously be developed like NFT hopes exists in many industries not just gaming.

In the long term, the cryptocurrency market will also develop, but this does not mean that we will no longer see a bear market. It is at such moments that we see the superiority of bitcoin over altcoins, when the price of the latter loses up to 95% of its value. But still, I expect the altcoin season in the near future, as I expect a further decline in the dominance of bitcoin.

Of course, bear market will occur in the market, whether we like it or not, it's the nature of it. The thing with bear market is that is is really hard for the majority to accept it specially those who still thinks that their altcoins will continue to grow after hitting a new all time high in 2021.

And now that the prime movers in the market, BTC is going down hard, for sure majority of the altcoins are going to follow it down the pipe. So it will be very ugly for newbies.
2454  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can BTC hit 70k$ this Christmas? on: January 06, 2022, 04:09:01 AM
70k$ for this Christmas is posible because BTC is now back to 50k$ even if the chances for Bitcoin to rise up to 70k$ is very small but I believe that there is still hope because BTC is now back to bull run status. We only have a few more day before year end so let see what will be the next update about BTC.
Christmas is over and the new year is too, but what is expected is nothing to prove and you are right that it is unlikely that bitcoin will ever be able to make it to $70K and be real. now we just have to hope that the ongoing correction can stop and not continue to fall below $40K which is certainly very worrying.
but I agree that there will come a time when bitcoin will increase and will not continue to be corrected, but for how long? Hopefully last year will be the same as the beginning of this year.

Yeah, it's over now, bull run and big rally is gone for now, what we have is a long and bear market that might last for years.

Was caught by surprised to see the price just going on a downward spiral today at $42k, I haven't check the news as to what really affected the market. But it seems at first glance, there could be bad news around the corner that change investors mindset to sell at this point.
2455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: January 06, 2022, 03:37:26 AM
Despite being a champion, he shouldn't still be too confident because Magsayo is preparing hard for this fight. 2 years is a long time rest for Russell so it might be the edge of Magsayo who has been continuously doing matches for years. The result is honestly quite unpredictable but I'm sure that this will be an exciting fight.

Still even if he is a champion or even he is known as undisputed fighter he still needed to prepare for his upcoming fights and not be overconfident on what kind of opponent he is going to fight with. It is better to be prepared than being overconfident if Magsayo is really looking to win this fight. Which in fact, Garry Russell is not also a small fighter that he need to be confident, I believe this fight will be a difficult fight for both fighters but I am also rooting to Mark Magsayo to win this fight.

It's okay to be confident but never underestimate an opponent whether you are a champion or not. It's necessary to ensure that proper training is done since this is a championship fight, and the loser here will lose the chance to have bigger fights in the future. For Magsayo as a challenger, he should give everything he has for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Let's just give Russell the benefit of the doubt as we don't really know what does he thinks to this fight. Though I'm not a big Gary Russell fan but I could say that he's not underestimating anything about Magsayo's skills and capability but surely he knew that his inactivity is really a disadvantage because practicing and training consistently is so different when you're actively fighting an opponent professionally. Both fighters have something to prove, like for Russell that he's capable and worth to be called the undisputed champion despite his inactivity and as for Magsayo, this fight will be his stepping stone towards success and to have more fights in the future if ever Magsayo could defeat Russell. But that is a question for now because I have no doubt that this fight is going to be a close one and tough, so there's no guarantee who'll be declared as a winner.

Yes, this would serve as stepping stone for Magsayo and for sure he will not waste this opportunity, but you are right, we can't underestimate Russell capabilities, he's not a champ buying the belt, he's here to prove that he is really deserving for this title, both fighters are in need of this fight for their future, they need to compete and entertain all the viewers and fans, good fight will serve them more exciting offers.. Cool Roll Eyes

It's the other way around, Russell should not underestimate Magsayo's capabilities because there is a good possibilities that he can pull an upset. And if he become the typical boxer who is truly believes in him as a champion to defeat anyone, then he could be wrong as Magsayo is a very dangerous opponent for him and shouldn't be taken lightly. And hopefully this fight will live up to it's expectation of one of the best fights in the lower division this year.

Just barely made it here:

I thought that it will not be covered as the score is very close. Good thing is that the garbage time was not enough as the Suns keeps the momentum of this lead throughout the game. At least I got my win again.

Congrats, I'm sure you are not comfortable watching the game, but that's a win, no matter how it's done by the team you are backing. Anyway, do we have some new tips for the games coming up tomorrow? I would love to bet on the Brookly Nets -7.5 as they are on a losing streak and they really need a win.

Actually I didn't finished the whole game, I just watch when the Suns got into like 10+ lead and I said that they can extend it even further. So I put my bet, and right after that, it was cut to single digit lead. And when I check it goes back up to highs of 12 point.

And just like that another narrow win for me as the Nets won, 129-121.

2457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SHOULDN'T THE DEVELOPMENT OF TOKENS BE MORE SUPERVISED ? on: January 05, 2022, 01:55:45 PM
I know where you are coming from, this is the nature of crypto when I first get in back in 2017. But the question is, who are going to supervise the development of projects?

I mean this market is open, everyone can development anything promote it through social media, create a hype and make money. Unfortunately this is the nature of the crypto world we lived it. So the best weapon, or at least what we can do on our part is to really investigate the projects that we are going to invest our hard earn money.
2458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you have a chance to become a VIP what casinos will those be on: January 05, 2022, 01:26:49 PM
I think it's going to be subjective, others may want to be VIP casino's that they carry on their signatures. And others may not say what casino as they might carry a different one.

But in any case though, I'm a VIP in a land base casino in my place and I think the biggest perks I got is a free hotel accommodation (not sure if it's free or discounted though).

2460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin new year on: January 02, 2022, 08:40:53 AM
Happy new calendar year to all the members of this forum, the past year has been a remarkable year in the Bitcoin journey and one of the most remarkable events of the past year's is the adoption of Bitcoin as a legal tender by countries like El Salvador.

Well at the end of 2020 and start of the 2021, it was really a great year for us. And we were able to sustain a good run, going to a new all time high not once but twice at $68k. And then we have a good news about El Salvador, and maybe there will be some countries too this 2022 that will make BTC legal tender.

The building of the first Bitcoin city and the all-time high price of Bitcoin in 2021, with all this exciting event I wish to say a big congratulations to all of us and a happy new year.

We have a big accomplishments already last year and it's hard to better that one. In fact, if he hit the opposite this year as in a bear market, we might not like what 2022 is going to offer. But let's be positive and hope for the better this year.
