At the moment CAPTcoin is using 2 servers at DigitalOcean:
One 1G-RAM server for the explorer and one 2G-RAM server for everything else (captcoin.com, api, capt.co.in).

Their cost is $10 and $20 per month, respectively. So the total cost is $30/month.
I've been covering that cost personally.

I'd like to ask for donations for these servers. The goal is to reach at least $20 per month among everyone.
Every cent counts.

Donation methods:

CAPTcoin:
CaUmnReWGULnq2LtpEGg7jLqmAa83f6Dif

Bitcoin:
14Cg7TE2LLaBR1nvbucfYv5qWGZkRNqFFA

PayPal:
capt@captcoin.com

Server:
If you can offer a Linux server with at least 1GB of RAM, that'd be great.
There's a lot of work to migrate everything to a new server, so a minimum commitment of 6 months would be required.

As a reward for any donation I can offer this:
  • Short links at capt.co.in for a CAPTcoin address or any other link. Ex: capt.co.in/your-name
  • Publishing your name in a list of donors at CAPTcoin.com
  • Adding your Ad at the bottom of the official forum.
  • Other, feel free to suggest.

another question can i install capt wallet on the raspberry pi

There's no specific binaries for it but it should work if you compile it yourself.

It's like the bitcoin-qt, so this guide will help:

http://coincafe.net/2013/07/06/how-to-run-bitcoin-qt-on-the-raspberry-pi/

after open the link and read it carefully i think nothing that i can do, because i have no skill to do it ( Install capt wallet on raspberry pi ).........may the dev have to create a raspberry pi wallet for capt

I don't even have a raspberry pi, or the required experience using the device.

But CAPTcoin is open source, so anyone can create that wallet if required.

Is there a way to change capt address associated to my android faucets or I have to uninstall it from my android device and then make a new installation with my new address?

No, it's not possible to change the address. You'd need to re-install or delete the application data to be able to enter a new address.

There is an android faucet? I mean is it already out, I remember reading about it but I heard it was still in testing so didnt pay much heed to it. has it been published yet fully and if so what is it called?

Yes, beta testing is over. It just lasted a couple of days.

It's called "CAPTcoin Faucet". Here's the link:

2447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin Wallet.dat shows 0 balance on: November 13, 2014, 04:17:58 PM
If you got a new address then it didn't recognize your wallet.dat file so a new one should have been generated.

Double check it's correctly named wallet.dat and it's on the right folder (I think %appdata%/dogecoin).

2448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CAPT] CAPTcoin - Best distribution! - Best API! - Available on CoinPayments on: November 05, 2014, 04:36:50 PM
Guys, I downloaded this wallet new and it is taking hours and hours to sync and I keep having to stop and restart. Does anyone have a bootstrap.dat file or a zipped blockchain? I looked on the op and nothing. I could even use more addnodes . Got the ones on the op already.

Thanks

Little problem whith Fauset. In Russia we traferred the clock back one hour. I have a time error, but if i transfer time forward one hour - fine  Sad

What error exactly do you get? "Make sure your clock is set correctly!"? or just the timer doesn't let you claim yet?

Did you change the time manually or does your provider set it automatically?

Yes - "Make sure your clock is set correctly!". My provider set it automatically and that's correct time. Bit if i set internet time, it's incorrect time, fauset works ok.

I've increased the time tolerance of the server. It should work now.

Please test it and confirm.

Faucet released!
This is it guys. Dump all ur coins now as the price will never increase.
Admin doesn't care cuz he still earn $$$ from the app, it's all his plans.

I have a don't-feed-the-troll policy and I normally don't make exceptions.

However now I'm not sure if you're just trolling as always or you really don't know what's happening and how faucets work.

Let me explain to you some main points:

1. Marketing: The more people know about CAPTcoin, the more potential investors.
The built-in referral system of the faucet will make a lot of people post about it and recommend it to friends.
A small percentage of those referred people will like what they see and invest in CAPTcoin.

2. Buying vs. Selling pressure: Do you have any idea where the coins distributed by the faucet come from?
I guess that question is too difficult for you so let me tell you: I have to buy them on an exchange.
I'll use the money I get from the Ads to buy CAPTcoins on an exchange.

So basically 100% of the coins distributed by the faucet are bought on an exchange, creating a buying pressure.

Some of the people who get those coins will instantly dump, others won't.
Let's say 50% of them dump (that percentage was much lower during the initial distribution).
That'd mean 50% of the coins distributed by the faucet are sold on an exchange, creating a selling pressure.

I hope you understand what a 100% buying pressure vs. 50% selling pressure means for the coin.

3. Community: I know I can't decide on my own something like the creation of this faucet.
That's why I run a poll before I started developing the app, almost 2 months ago.

100% of people thought it was a good idea: http://CAPT.co.in/f379
so of course the benefits were obvious for everyone (well, except you but you didn't vote).

I hope you understood these point. I guess it must be difficult for you but I'm trying to help here.

Of course this faucet and all the efforts I and other CAPTcoiners do to create new services are helping CAPTcoin.
However it's not a magical receipt that can guarantee the success of the coin.
We all need to work together for it (of course I'm not talking to you on this paragraph EseQueL,
I'm talking to all the CAPTcoiners who read this
).

Your trolling posts are not helping the coin. But hopefully they're not damaging it either.
People are more intelligent than you and realize you're either trolling or ignorant.

And now I'll comply with my own policy. I recommend everyone to do the same:

This Android CAPTcoin Faucet lets you earn free CAPTcoins every hour from your Android device.

It offers you these features:

• Claim every hour.
Automatic withdrawals every 15 claims. Don't wait to get your coins.
• Get a referral code after 25 claims. Both you and the person you refer earn an extra 10%.
• Earn a bonus of 1% more every claim. Up to an extra 100%.
• Set up a notification that lets you know when you can claim again. Don't waste your time checking the app every minute.
• Claim your free coins anywhere!

How to solve the captcha:

When claiming your coins, you'll have to solve a captcha similar to this one:

To solve it, follow these steps:

• Read it: "(Three times 1) + Four Mnm"
• Convert it to numbers: "(3*1)+4 Mnm"
• Calculate: "3+4 Mnm" = "7 Mnm"
• Enter it in the shown order: "7Mnm"

Note you can enter it as "7Mnm" or "7 Mnm", both are valid.
However, "Mnm7" and "Mnm 7" are not valid.
If the letters appear first, you must enter them first.

The shown letters are case-sensitive, therefore "7mnm" is not valid.

If you can't read the shown captcha, touch this button:
A new one will appear with the same answer (and therefore the same answer).

Click on any image to expand it.

THE BETA BUILD HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

If you have an Android device (Android 2.2 or greater, with touchscreen), please help beta-testing it.

You can get the beta build here:
http://capt.co.in/a

Here are some of the things that need to be tested:
  • During beta testing, you should be able to claim every 5 minutes.
  • During beta testing, base reward is 0.01 CAPT.
  • You should get an extra 10% if you use a referral code.
  • You must get a referral code after 25 claims (feel free to post it here once you get it).
  • You must get 10% of the base reward for every claim made by a referred user.
  • You must get an extra 1% after every claim until you reach an extra 100%.
  • You should NOT be able to claim if you're using an Ad blocker.
  • If you enable notifications in Settings, you should receive it when a new claim is possible.
  • You can enable or disable sound and vibration for notifications, it should behave accordingly.

If you find anything that's not working as described, or if you find anything not working as you'd expect, let me know.

It can be either a bug or an error in design that I may consider changing.

Hacking reward:
If you're able to hack the app or the API to claim without completing the captchas or without seeing the Ads and you let me know,
I'll send you a reward in CAPT + BTC.

Of course it's as difficult and obscure as I could, so hopefully nobody will claim the reward. However, please try.

Here are some screen shots of the Android CAPTcoin faucet
(still subject to change)

I'm finally very close to finishing the Android Faucet (finally! - sorry for the delay, I've been very busy)

I need some beta testers. If you can help please PM me or post here.

During the beta phase a smaller reward will be given but everything should work.
Also, claims can be made every 5 minutes instead of the intended 1 hour.

I'll do my best to keep the referrals obtained during this beta phase but I can't guarantee that as it may be lost if fixing a found error requires that.

Here are some features of the app:
  • Claims can be made every hour (every 5 minutes during beta testing)
  • Initial base reward will be 0.1 CAPT (0.01 during beta testing)
That amount is subject to change according to the income from Ads and donations to the faucet.
  • After 25 claims you'll get a referral code. You'll earn 10% of the base reward every time a referred user makes a claim.
  • You'll earn an extra 10% if you register using a referral code.
  • You'll get an extra 1% every time you complete a claim, 10% extra after 10 claims, 20% extra after 20 claims and so on until up to an extra 100%.
  • Withdrawals will be made automatically every 15 claims.
  • Optionally a notification can be enabled. It can let you know when a new claim is ready to be made.

If you have an Android device and can help testing the app, let me know.

Do you want a wallet to use everyday?
Or a secure way to store bitcoins for a long time?

In the later case, try my app "Deck Wallet":

https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=811397
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecuamobi.deckwallet

It's completely safe as long as you shuffle enough the cards and keep them secure.

It doesn't have Internet permissions, you don't need to type anything (besides an optional password)
and it uses real-world entropy.

That means it's invulnerable to known issues such as private key stealing, key-loggers and random-number generation issues.

You can also try "Paper Wallet":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.valle.btc

I haven't used it but it could be what you want.
