2441  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Bitcointalk is the best forum on: January 08, 2023, 09:40:52 PM
There are numerous forum out there patterning to cryptocurrencies which in time past I have engaged in few of them not until I came across Bitcointalk forum and the difference was clear from the onset. Seeing how coordination and moderations in all sections and boards on the forum, how the forum users puts in a lot of effort to give their best in terms of quality post, comments and discussion on issues raised concerning Bitcoin. I have learnt a lot here about crypto and my zeal towards trading in crypto especially bitcoin was ignited widely through my participation here.
It  may not be the best for others but based on where am coming from I recognize the forum as one of the best few Bitcoin community out there. And am bliss to be a member.

2443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some Gambling Slang and Terms that Beginners Should be Aware of on: January 08, 2023, 02:49:57 PM
OP going by your list and through my many years of gambling am much familiar with some of the slangs as listed except for words like, chalk, beard which am impressed with having to know now about them, and another thing I noted is that some of these gambling slangs are all gambler register peculiar to certain country's different from others.
It's not easy getting along with all these slangs for someone that's just into gambling, but the more the years go by as you engage in gambling you just get familiar with them and more without even trying.
2444  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Ask about The Best Wallets for Bitcoin ? on: January 08, 2023, 02:27:29 PM
Which Bitcoin wallet is the best?
Just like other users have earlier said, there are lots of wonderful Bitcoin wallets ranging from software wallet to hardware wallets, so it all depends on what you're looking for.
Here's a thread I came across on the forum the enlists some good number of bitcoin wallets. check this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5282364.0
2445  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone out there doing money by trading? How? on: January 08, 2023, 10:12:15 AM
I don't need to prove to anyone or make it public about profits I make through cryto trade and I believe it's same for every wise crypto trader for the sake of your security as you could make yourself a point of target to hackers and non-well meaning people around you through your public show.
It's better to lay low perhaps announcing your failures on trades much often than your successes. There are lots of crypto traders out there doing very well with profits and we don't need to loud it so OP go do your analysis well and come back with forensics to your claim.
2446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mainstream crypto adoption on: January 07, 2023, 09:51:50 PM
Good day, Crypto FAM. I found this interesting article that discusses the EU's desire to develop a cryptocurrency energy-efficiency grading system in order to encourage more environmentally friendly crypto systems.

Just as their use has grown significantly, the energy consumption of cryptocurrencies has more. In harnessing the use of cryptocurrencies and other blockchain technologies in energy markets and trading, care must be taken to use only the most energy-efficient versions of the technology.

Do you think this would help mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies?

Original source:

https://tokenist.com/eu-to-grade-cryptocurrencies-based-on-energy-consumption-report/

Looking deep down one can smell a sinister plan to gain control of certain cryptocurrency in the disguise of provision of boosting energy efficiency grading system. BTC decentralization is actually pulling a torn on the government centralized system of economy and they are trying to use every means possible to gain access., It's obvious one of the beauty of bitcoin is in its PoW and  that's why the government's through the EU is mounting pressure in support for PoS based coins just in attempt to limit the utility of BTC but it's just a failed attempt in futility from the start.
2447  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Asking for guidance on how to implement a protocol to boost Bitcoin usage. on: January 07, 2023, 02:20:30 PM
I may not have a solution to what you seek, but all I can tell you is beware and be sensitive against any scam or fraudulent persons that might want to take advantage of you in your attempt to garner knowledge to guide you on how you can fully go about with your project.
2448  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why does celebrity marriage frequently end in divorce?  on: January 07, 2023, 02:01:12 PM
Celebrity lifestyle is one life pattern that's hard to keep up with when marriage is attached, owing to such things as:
• Not having regular time together as couples due to events to catch up with (pleasing fans against spouse).
• No submissiveness from wife in most cases ( two captains in a ship can't work).
•A later understanding that it was a mistake marrying the person after some time.
• Also,  when there's a lack of understanding of what marriage means other than just a social contract, which is more than that.

These days divorce is not just about celebrities alone but normal people in the society and it's really killing the true purpose of marriage and most times it's the children that bears the consequences of these actions.
2449  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin public keys on: January 07, 2023, 01:33:27 PM
Quote
Do you have a python or sage code I can look at? I'm a security researcher and I really need to see whether I can recreate a valid (not signed) RSZ.
It is better to understand the math behind that. Then, you will write that code easily by yourself, and you will go beyond that example.

So, a signature is a relation between some public key, and another "signature public key". You start from private key "d" and "signature private key" called "nonce" and often named as "k". You start from "s=(z+rd)/k" relation, rewrite it, and then convert from private to public keys. Then, if you understand it after such conversion, you know everything you need.
Code:
s=(z+rd)/k
sk=z+rd
sk-z=rd
rd=sk-z
d=(sk-z)/r
d=(s/r)k-(z/r)
Q=d*G
R=k*G
Q=(s/r)R-(z/r)
Then, when you know "Q" on the left side, you can put anything you want on the right side. Just pick two numbers: "s/r" and "z/r". Then, you will get your "R", and "r=R.x" from that, and then "s=(s/r)*r" and "z=(z/r)*r", then you will have a valid (r,s,z) tuple for that public key.

Also, you can go beyond that example, and convert it in another direction. So, by choosing some message, you can hash it, then you will get some z. Then, you can pick some (r,s) pair, and generate a valid Q from your (r,s,z) tuple. Then, you will reach some public key, with a valid signature, where you don't know the private key. It is called "public key recovery", and it is why you can type some address, and some signature, and no public key is needed, because it can be calculated. For example:
Quote
Code:
message="Hello World"
address="1psPJZYEJrjPtY6kw5Tqtj4mW2yXSSDuH"
signature="GwAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAE="
Here, nobody knows the private key for 1psPJZYEJrjPtY6kw5Tqtj4mW2yXSSDuH, it is a "trap address", but this signature is valid.

So, to sum up: If you understand "Q=(s/r)R-(z/r)", then you know, that you can choose some Q, and get some matching (r,s,z) tuple, or vice versa: you can choose some (r,s,z) tuple, and find some Q by using public key recovery. Understanding this equation is all you need to go in both directions, and build other fake signatures beyond that. Also, for now it is only a nice mathematical trick, you cannot move any real coins with those tricks.
@galonicon I was beginning to get tensed while reading your comment not until I got to the end of it "that it's only a nice mathematical trick which can not move real coins" lol Grin . I'll in my quiet time carefully practicalize this equation to see how veritable it is based on how you have just explained.
2450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you experienced this kind of gambling on: January 07, 2023, 01:08:55 PM
Have heard of people waking up to go play draws on numbers they probably saw in their dreams while they were sleeping, and another where certain persons also place their belief on getting draws from mad persons on the streets (a situation where they buy food for the said mad man who in turn writes down numbers that would play draw on pool that very weekend), of which in most cases these numbers tend to play.
 But in my whole time as a gambler and even amongst my gambling friends I have never heard of gambling based on jerseys number sign due to how repeatedly they flash on TV. It's quite weird though but I understand that gamblers can pull out every strategy possible just to get winnings anyway!  No matter the strategy anyone uses, what really matters is winning's.
2451  Other / Off-topic / Re: Securing Social Media Vulnerabilities on: January 06, 2023, 08:52:39 PM
Securing Social Media Vulnerabilities

2. Don't visit any unsolicited link, downloads or websites.

3. Verify every web address to be accurately typed before launch and observe the security signs

5. don't sell any of your old devices used in handling your wallets to any body and dont repair them if damaged but instead destroy them and get another one if possible, they may spy your details during maintenance and attack.

Speaking of unsolicited links or websites, it important that anyone who's already into cryptocurrency business to bear it in mind that you are a target and as such you need to tread with carefulness while online mostly on any social media networks. The online space is very unsafe and ignorance is not an excuse in anyway.

A few persons are not observant while wanting to use any site address, as with just a little dot hackers can use it to divert you from the original intended address you wanted to key into. So it's pertinent everyone pay attention for these kinds of things.
Lastly, if I want to sell my gadget or device I might have been using my wallets and crypto transactions with am very sure flashing the device to a totally new one wouldn't keep any trace on it if am wrong about this someone should clear the air for me
2452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: January 06, 2023, 06:20:54 PM
It's weird to see that my longest running gambling discussion thread (NBA) have almost same merit as this new thread, LOL.

In about 20 minutes we will see the Al-Nassr Vs Al-Ta'ee game, also the line-up for this match is out but we won't find Cristiano Ronaldo there even on the bench. I don't know when Cristiano will play his first game for Al-Nassr, does anyone have any information regarding that here?

Al Nassr is leading first half with a late goal of Talisca. He's in the striker position today since Aboubakar is unavailable. His contract is terminated because of foreign rule. Al Nassr already had 4 foreign players (Ospina, Talisca, Gustavo, Aboubakar) so they had to give up one of them. It's ridiculous to set Aboubakar free, he was their best player.

Ronaldo is still not in the squad, maybe after next match we will see him. Because I heard he already had a two match ban for breaking Everton fan's phone and this is the first game of his ban. He's watching the game from VIP box right now.
Al Nassr decision might seem ridiculous understandably looking at the contributions Aboubakar have made to the team, but rules must be respected as laid and that's why the needful must be done. Away from that, looking at Ronaldo who was like a rejected stone by his immediate former club is today gazed upon as a chief-cornerstone at Al Nassr to which the President of the team in a press conference described him C. Ronaldo as the "Greatest of all time". Am happy for him and we hope to see him make his debut immediately as I believe his presence in not just Al Nassr to the Arab league itself will attract much eyes into the league.
2453  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin banking is more preferable than normal bank. on: January 06, 2023, 05:46:47 PM
The mistaken thing with which some people fail to understand is that traditional banking and bitcoin bank both has a different purpose it serves and one can't completely take the place of the other.
OP yes bitcoin banking grants the user self custody of his assets without any interference by a third party into the user wallet  without the owner's authorization but in a situation where your wallet is hacked and your assets stolen then there's no insurance for you on your loss assets. But unlike the traditional banking wether your bank account got hacked and fund stolen, or bank got liquidated you are insured to the refund of your loss funds by the bank after all necessary process has been followed.
I may not a favourite if he traditional banking system to crypto-banking but there's a place necessity  for crypto and a place for fiat.
2454  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Old phone as cold storage? on: January 06, 2023, 05:13:33 AM
and phones are extremely hard to made truly air-gap

One very good argument is that a burglar will most probably steal that smartphone even if it's older, put a SIM in it and turn everything on, making indeed phones somehow risky for cold storage.
Another very good argument is that somebody in the house would do exactly that too (put a SIM in) because of not knowing it's a "special use" phone.

If someone should decide to use an Android phone wether old or new make for cold storage  then it's expected that the person should have a secure hidden place place that by chance still wouldn't come to the thought of a burglar that anything of value like a phone could be placed there not to talk of a phone used as cold storage.
Like every home has some spot's where no one would ever believe that something of value could be kept there not even a member of the house either.
2455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: January 05, 2023, 09:56:21 PM
I It's quite easy for me to control my gambling anxiety as I already follow strict rules that help me stay on the line.

What about you guys? Do you have any addiction to gambling? What drives you to gamble? Is it the long shot of having a big profit coming in or is gambling simply a way of spending time for you?
There are lots of fun activities I would want to spend my leisure time on certainly not on gambling for the sake of fun if not for the long short profit. You know fun won't put food on my table! Maybe 5% fun out of 100% just to keep anxiety off the mind while on it. Yeah it's believed that gambling should be fun but the fun for me comes when am making profit and not the other way round.

OP please I will appreciate if you could share we us those strict rules of yours that helps you stay on the line like you said. Pls do!
2456  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - what price would you sell? on: January 05, 2023, 07:02:14 PM
The idealistic reply would be not to look at Bitcoin solely as an asset to be exchanged to give real world value (fiat), but also as a possible currency which allows one to spend privately and through a decentralized means. This way you would not only need to wait for a certain price to 'sell off', but you would have an asset that can be used for any reason you would need fiat for.
many persons that are into bitcoin don't really have a good understanding of this idealism  that bitcoin was introduced  as an alternative to fiat for people to enjoy financial  privacy as against the  traditional financial centralized  systems, but rather, much of what they could mostly think of  whenever bitcoin is mentioned is that it's about the bulls and bears markets's with how to make profits based on these two variables ( bull/bear).

2457  Economy / Economics / Re: The poor people with their reasoning on: January 05, 2023, 06:37:05 PM
Poverty is a mentality issue, some persons are mentally poor that apart from bitcoin there's nothing you'll introduce to them that has the possibility of changing their standard of life to better that they would want to get involved. If you constantly try, you will be tagged by them as a nuisance and a disturbance to their life. As in, they are contented with where they are, what they have and how they living the life. The little that comes in handy for them suffice them.
To me it's a waste of time and energy trying to persuade such person's about seizing any life changing  opportunity, bitcoin inclusive. All I have chosen to do is to let the results in my life from those opportunities speak out for itself and anyone that sees it  and which to know and get himself involved I don't hesitate to share the opportunity.

One thing Op should understand is that, being poor or rich in life is a matter of choice, so need not be forcing persons into something they ain't interested in.
2458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin storage and security tips on: January 04, 2023, 08:58:50 PM
It astound me really hard to know that people still store huge sum of money on exchanges seeing how others have disappointed leading to the loss of many crypto investors and traders assets. Non-custodial wallats are just the best way to keep full control and charge of your assets but a few crypto users are perhaps shying away from the responsibility of taking absolute of their private keys or seed phrase which sounds laughable to me.
Here's a thread I came across here on the forum on how to safely secure and store your private keys and I think the process it's pretty cool as it's money we're talking about here.

2460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone making a living from Crypto Sports betting? on: January 04, 2023, 06:35:34 PM
By making a living, I mean making four or five figures after Profit - Loss.

If yes, then which bookmaker?

I won't advise anyone to pick on gambling as a means of making a living as it's not guaranteed and reliable just as a source of living ought to be. Every renowned gambler you know of surely do have other reliable source of living (jobs/business) while making gambling as an attachment to making some additional funds. I bet nobody would want to place his source of living on something predominantly based on luck.

There are lots of good casino's bookmakers in the forum that have been doing well in the past years without issues related to paying out winnings, withdrawal or cash outs, etc. Just check on anyone of the casino sigs and avatar's worn by many of the user's like myself here, go through their ToS for anyone you're cool with, but pls avoid 1xbit (candid advise).
