2441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can BTC exist without Fiat? on: July 17, 2021, 02:36:21 PM
I don't think bitcoin can survive without fiat, because where can people buy bitcoin itself without starting with fiat,

when you buy a car with bitcoin I think it's possible, it's just that , when  bitcoin have high price  you will experience a very large loss compared to using fiat money
Its volatility feature is the thing that merchants had to consider accepting Bitcoin as a mode of payment. If only that its value is stable, the majority will likely use it instead of fiat but as this can never be changed, we could think that Bitcoin won't ever survive or exist without fiat money.
But it was not an issue, I think. Fiat money will still be there even there is a surge of Bitcoin demand because the majority will still be using fiat compared to Bitcoin.
2442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I know if an altcoin is a scam? on: July 17, 2021, 01:59:48 PM
Unfortunately, you can’t be completely sure that the altcoin you are going to invest in is safe. Moreover, if it is a new one. But as you have said about LP, I can guess that it is a token of defi project. So the steps you definitely need to take before investing are investigating the idea and docs, then an overview of the team and also you should see if any “whales” are going to invest in it.
Honestly, never trust a project like that. eventually, there will be a regret.
after all, anything new project like that will just attract market hype and then they walk away with the profits. leave them far if you still want to stick with your money. because some assets and projects are more feasible for us to choose from.
It is very simple to choose which one is profitable and sustainable coin the market. They are a lot of them, actually. Only we need to keep them rather than looking for other potential coins which we are not sure about. For we are about surrounded by scams and fake projects, the more careful we are going to choose of what project we invested as this can be final and no way we can get our money back once we fall into scam projects.
2443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: July 17, 2021, 01:24:24 PM

In any case, Manny being the underdog is good for us.

I think Manny will remain an underdog even on the actual fight, lots of Americans will bet on Spence as he is the younger and the bigger guy, and champion as well. We believe in our countryman and since he is a "pambansang kamao",  we should support him no matter what.

I am so excited for this fight man. As someone who really grew up watching at least most of his fights, it is such a privilege to witness the People's Champ back in the ring with his age not hindering him from fighting the very best from his weigh division.

Do you guys have an idea about the pay-per-view setup on his match? I've been trying to look for the pricing but there seems to be no updates on how to watch the fight. I am pretty sure that I'm going to bet hard on this fight for Manny!

Maybe we will see some PPV offers as the fight is nearing, and yes man, that's the right thing to do, bet hard on Manny Pacquiao as he definitely has a good chance of winning the fight, Spence is big and strong, but who are we to doubt our very own who is the only 8th division champion.
Pacman was the underdog of this fight or not, age limit or not. I am still going for him as the winning of this fight and I know the lover of boxing that really understand his capacity will do the same. Besides, Logan Paul statement when he visited Pacman at his training session should make people understand that Pacman is not playing.

I hear that the fight PPV offer can be find on fite.tv

Most of us here are betting on Pacquiao to win, that's for sure as most fans are Filipino fans. I only notice a few here that think Spence will win although in sportsbook he is the favorite, so this thread is a bit bias, lol.. Anyway, as long as we will see a great fight, that would be so nice, whoever wins as long as it's an entertaining fight and both will make a good payday.
2444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Elon Interested in Dogecoin? on: July 17, 2021, 12:56:57 PM
It goes without saying that Elon Mask is very rich, so I don’t really believe that he is interested in earning on speculation. The reason why he mentions this coin is that he just wants to hog public attention, and  he really succeeded in it.

On the other hand it is a really good strategy to pump coins using your authority, so it also brings him money. Nevertheless, people have understood that, so price doesn’t change so sugnificantly because of his tweets.

So you think he has not benefited from that pump? I guess the intention was really to make money because if he has a genuine intention which would want to help the market grow, he should have not shill a meme coin that has no fundamentals.
2445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 17, 2021, 12:38:50 PM

^^ That win is not without a scare and the score may deceive you that it's a lopsided win but it's not, it's actually close.

That bet is a mistake on my side because I thought at first that the opponent of Magnolia will be NorthPort, must be sleepy when I look at the odds at the bookies but nevertheless, it's a win lol.

Seems Abueva is a good fit on the Magnolia system huh.

I saw the 4th quarter and it was really a close game, I didn't expect Magnolia will cover the spread, but that's the game, sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you are not, so I would say congratulations to you bisdak40 , you have some blessing on your mistake.

Calvin Abueva had a double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds in his debut with Magnolia, that's very impressive knowing it was a low-scoring game.
2446  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you run when you fail or loose in a trade? on: July 17, 2021, 08:23:23 AM
Trading is always learnable and none can gather all experienced In an instant time. The first time I lost my dollars at trading but now I gathered knowledge and experienced that I already profited instead of loses.

Most people are blinded by the risks of trading not knowing how it could be profitable if they would have enough knowledge about it. It's a long process of learning and saying negative things about it wouldn't help. People who have a bad mentality when it comes to trading are those who are afraid to take a risk or have failed at it because of not having the willingness to learn everything about it.
Yes, it was and they have been influenced by others saying that they can make money for trading. Apparently, they find it wrong once they are doing it by themselves. It was really unfortunate how these people become blinded by the word MONEY without knowing how many losses they've got first before making a profit.

I lost $100 for my first try, I really think about quitting and I really did. But I'd realize that quitting could make me not to recover my losses, so I come back. But this time, I'm already backup with knowledge and now fully understand the market.
2447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will dogecoin drop to $0.2 again? on: July 16, 2021, 09:21:47 PM
Well today DOGE is above 18 cents and it does not look good. Probably it will drop even further because Bitcoin is losing ground. We all know DOGE is actually trading against satoshi and now headed towards 500 satoshi. If it goes below that we may be seeing 100 satoshi doge again before the end of the year.

There's a major dump, if we look at the top 10 worst performers in the last 7 days in CMC, Doge is included with -21%, that's a huge drop and for sure investors will panic, I'm talking about the top 100 coins top 10 worst performers.

Maybe the hype is already over, DOGE is going back to below $0.1 or the price where the hype started.

What would Elon do now that his hype is not effective anymore?
2448  Economy / Speculation / Re: How come BTC is still so cheap? on: July 16, 2021, 08:58:52 PM
Cheap or not the price of bitcoin today depends on how people view market developments by relating most of the positive news about the legality of bitcoin in several countries, while some people overestimate the level of dominance of FUD from China so important, they think bitcoin prices are still expensive.

Supply and demand still influenced the value of Bitcoin, those who understand the system accordingly

will see this as opportunities, while those who are only relying with news and social medias will continue

to doubt this market, still depends or relying with how people appreciate it and how they'll take it as

investment or as  currency to use.

As of now, I don't see the supply and demand principle really works as there's no big demand of bitcoin yet for usage, its demand only grows significantly during the bull run, and with that, it's not due to real usage but due to hype where people buy bitcoin to hold or trade. The real supply and demand would work better if there's a increasing demand of bitcoin for online transaction as that's  really the purpose.
2449  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Follows Ethereum? on: July 16, 2021, 12:40:27 PM
I hope this could help OP https://coinmarketcap.com/
All you need to study the market and do some search. Bitcoin remains dominating the market, not ETH. And altcoins remain to follow the movement of Bitcoin, not the one to follow Altcoins.

Do you think it's possible that the Bitcoin price will follow Ethereum price in the future? When Ethereum becomes proof of stake and becomes deflationary, can it happen?
This will never happen at all we all know that the bitcoin is always the number one coin and it's price is much higher than the ethereum or on any other altcoins. So it will never follow ethereum it is impossible to happen. Bitcoin always dominating the market and all altcoins always follow it.
Don't take that seriously as the OP still confuse about what coin is dominating the market. That is to find ridiculous but we just have to try educating him and help him to get familiar with the market sentiment and ranking.

2450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is still the favorite choice on: July 16, 2021, 12:06:43 PM
That was obvious as we all come in crypto looking for Bitcoin, not altcoins to invest. And despite the number of altcoins are growing and the surge of market competition, Bitcoin still remain on top and continue to dominate the market. This can never be changed and that was clear to see that the altcoins are still dependent on Bitcoin. Of what had Bitcoin does for several years, it gives a reason why the community will choose this coin despite the fluctuating price and sometimes long confirmation of the transaction, and also high fees.
2451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Holding 5 years a just a imagination on: July 15, 2021, 09:09:24 PM
5 years is not a short time, so you should really choose the right coin for investment.  Altcoins that are well known to many people, I choose altcoins that move to follow the bitcoin rally movement and don't forget to monitor all the time so as not to miss the opportunity to reap profits

The long term investment is easier than the short term, but you are right, monitoring is very important as altcoins are less stable compared to bitcoin, in altcoins, the CEO could go scam which would not happen to bitcoin since its founder is anonymous and bitcoin is there and cannot be tampered, that's why it's a better long term investment than altcoins.

However, based on price trends, altcoins are more profitable in long term hold, so that's a positive them, but it's riskier so always pay attention t the market condition.
2452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 15, 2021, 08:49:01 PM
The missing key for the Bucks this Finals, Khris Middleton. After a worst performance on Game 1 and 2, he erased the thinking of his doubters.

Playing infront of a thousands Bucks audience fans, that gives him the adrenalin to step up on the game.

Want to see him playing that kind of ballgame as an Away team on Game 5.

He was just too inconsistent, one night he dropped 30 points, the other night he will only make 10 points, that's who he is now, but we hope he will have a big game on the road where it's important for them to win, but anyway, there's always Giannis who will remain consistent in this series, so bucks still have a great chance of winning the series.
2453  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this a good plan on: July 15, 2021, 12:59:43 PM

But obviously we must understand the risk that is why knowledge is still the best weapon to beat losses.
and finding the lowest value is stupidity because if you are really into holding then you must buy when ypu have funds no matter how much the value is.
If that OP only chooses those reliable coins, he can never lose his money unless if he gets panic and sell them at a cheaper price. But I feel that he is strong to deal with the market drop and I know he was able to wait for the next Bullrun. So therefore to say that OP's strategy will work for him and the others will consider following what he does.

We certainly understand the risk here but eventually, it can be minimized if we know how to deal with the unpredicted trend and we are able to control our emotions.
2454  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Signals in crypto on: July 15, 2021, 12:07:35 PM
...

I understand what you want but it is very difficult as you are looking for some kind of secret information that can easily help you to do this and this does not exist, the only way to recognize if a coin is any good or not it is to know about the technology behind cryptocurrencies in a profound way, if you do not know this then you are just gambling with your money if you invest in those altcoins, so unfortunately I do not think you have what is necessary to achieve the results that you want to get.
Indeed, some people just joined the signal groups because they think that this is the answer to their call to make rich. But unfortunately, they don't notice that these people are milking them from their hard work money. Because the reality is that these signal groups have to do nothing with us, they make their own analysis which we can make it as well.
But I could say that trading is like gambling and the result it is either we gain profit or just lose.
2455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will dogecoin drop to $0.2 again? on: July 14, 2021, 09:38:29 PM
<snip>
i think there are people who are all day waiting for elon musk to do some twitter about doge and immediately these people buy dogecoin, and also where are the authorities to stop him from doing this kind of market manipulation?
What should authorities do here? File a case against him for doing these kind of activity or warn him to stop doing it? Actually it won't make any difference until the investors gain enough maturity. Lots of people made nice profit for the dogecoin pump. It was unexpected pump and got pretty good attention widely. As a result, a small part of new investors still following Elon Musk tweet. While most of the old investors doesn't care about it anymore. Doge price may go down more from the current point.

The question is, has anyone been jailed for market manipulation in crypto?

I think there's no law about that yet and market manipulation is not new in the crypto space, the reason why the market is so volatile.
Elon is a billionaire, let's assume he has a lot of lawyers, so he is sure himself that he will not do stupid things that will face him to legal liability in the future. If McAfee for an obvious market manipulation during 2017, for sure nothing will also happen with Elon Musk.
2456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Past two months bitcoin journey on: July 14, 2021, 09:23:23 PM
You'll have a great future if you continue accumulating consistently and if you hold it in for the long term.
For me, this is an effective strategy and I like it because you are buying regardless of the price of bitcoin.

The timing now is really good because bitcoin is in the correction stage and we might see it dump even more, below $30k.

With that, you'll be able to accumulate more BTC due to the cheap bitcoin price.

2458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you trust centralized exchanges? on: July 13, 2021, 01:04:31 PM
You have been warned if you are one of those people who follow blindly. Crypto gets bigger and more mainstream, so you have to be concerned about centralized exchanges securities and longevity. Right now, their security is not guaranteed. As a result, I am dividing my portfolio now. It is better to be protected before anything happens.
We can always put our portfolios into a safer vault like hardware wallets and cold storages.
It's a different thing from trusting centralized exchanges as we trade crypto to another crypto or fiat.
It's our money, we should find a way to handle it carefully, we have to understand the risk to be able to minimize it.

As long as you don't put all of your eggs on any centralized exchanges and you just use them when it is necessary, that's what it should be.

This is a golden rule in investing, everyone should follow it to minimize the risk unless an investor is a real risk-taker and still winning to lose everything he has. If we educate ourselves on the current market situation, it would be easy for us going forward as safeguarding your assets is just part of the basic things you need to do.
2459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why some are still loosing money in crypto on: July 13, 2021, 11:54:37 AM
~

People follow Musk because they do not want to independently engage in the selection of a promising coin, shifting this work to others. And in case of failure, they shift the responsibility to others, considering themselves a victim of unfair advertising. Such investors will never understand what was the mistake of following the advice of a public person and will repeat these mistakes again and again.

In addition, some of these people are too lazy to make their own research on how to properly put their investments in crypto. In fact, some of them didn't even understand what kind of sh*tcoin they're into.
As a result, they became a puppet from a rich person that really doesn't care If people losses their money as long as he can milk out of his followers.
And I don't expect the Elon tweets to end, because he still have so many followers that also follows the series of Tweets he made on Twitter.
This is how manipulation is taking effect in the market. Rich people are the cause of losses and people think that following what they say could make them rich also. But, it was sad to say that they are bringing themselves to a worse and regrettable decision on their life in terms of investment.
Of course, these rich people don't care about what will happen to their followers as they just care about the money that he/she receives.
2460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why altcoins are rampant in the market on: July 13, 2021, 11:25:31 AM
When people saw the value of Bitcoin, they also created various altcoins. Some people who make a profit from investing in Bitcoin will also choose to invest in altcoins.
In such a messy market, can we still allocate assets to cryptocurrencies? What should be done with altcoins?
Developers can easily create a coin because it is open-sourced all they need in the community, the product or services, and good marketing to attract more buyers of their coin, why use Bitcoin or other existing coins in the market when they can create their own and make a hundred times profit with their own coin or token, this is the reason why we have coins dedicated to meme, personality sports, companies, and institutions.
Because they wanted to make money and that is why scam people, that is the reality nowadays.

Developers make their own coins for the sake that they can generate a profit out of investors who think that they can make a living from their investment. But somehow, the result is very disappointing and everyone who experiences this will certainly be thinking of leaving.
