Those are really good GPU temps mmitech, what's your case and cooling setup?

What does sharethreads do?  It doesn't seem to make much of a difference in hash rate if any.
2443  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Amazon gift codes for BTC @ Mt Gox exchange rate on: March 27, 2013, 07:26:41 PM
Had an excellent buyer dilatedPixel who bought $2k of these..  She's still a newbie but you can PM her to verify.  Still selling.
2444  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox deposit issues? on: March 27, 2013, 07:12:18 AM
I have more than 40 confirmations and still not reflected  Huh

One of my transactions made it thru..  Still waiting for the other 3.
2445  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon - Batch #3 pricing on: March 27, 2013, 06:32:24 AM
The pricing seems to have increased dramatically compared to the 1st and 2nd batches. 1200, 1500, and currently ~5300+. It seems to be a very large jump, but if you have had the coin, then you can justify the cost.

You've got to think of it in BTC, not USD.  Batch 1 was like ~125BTC, Batch 2 was ~77 BTC, Batch 3 ~ 75BTC.  They're getting cheaper.

You're paying BTC to mine BTC to use in a BTC economy.  Don't value the BTC as USD and it's not a problem.

If you don't already have the BTC you kinda have to value it in fiat.
2446  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox deposit issues? on: March 27, 2013, 05:37:15 AM
OK, after 24 confirmations the balance still shows zero.
It was a small sum (0.07751916 BTC) sent from one of my backup pools, so no biggie.
But if it happened once it could be happen again with big sums, so what the heck am I to do?
Waiting for more confirmations?

EDIT:
So maybe we need to wait 24 hours: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=159329.0

If you aren't seeing the funds after either withdrawing/sending to Mt. Gox from your bitcoin program, please wait 24 hours before contacting us. If your transfer has still not occurred within 48 hours, please lodge a support request so we may begin the process of tracking your bitcoins and reinitiating the transfer.

Still sucks though...

That is fucking ridiculous to wait 24 hrs for a BTC deposit..  The coins are sitting in a wallet on their systems and confirmed 24x that means their systems suck.
2447  Economy / Trading Discussion / Mt. Gox deposit issues? on: March 27, 2013, 01:22:00 AM
I've sent several transactions to gox today and none of them are available yet despite having 20+ confirmations..  Anyone know if they're having issues?
2448  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Gift Cards/codes for BTC @ Mt Gox exchange rate on: March 26, 2013, 07:37:16 PM
Pretty simple.  Will sell e-gift cards (codes) from the site of your choice @ "Weighted Average" price listed on Mt. Gox homepage.

You send BTC, I send the code.  Assuming I'm awake (US/Pacific Time), delivery time should be under an hour.

Wait so the guy named 'Coinabul' was just an employee and not the owner of the company?  I hope the site moderators let him change his name....

Is there a way to mine on Linux without running X?  It seems like running a grpahical display cuts around 100kH/sec off your speed on the main card.
2454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ASIC miners on Terracoin network? on: March 24, 2013, 08:39:06 PM
TRC's not worth mining when the difficulty is above ~4500 now, so he's probably jumping on when it gets under 3k.
2455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Consolidated Litecoin Mining Guide for 5xxx, 6xxx, and 7xxx GPUs on: March 22, 2013, 12:16:53 AM
Don't forget about undervolting your GPUs, I finally got around to it with my 7970 x2 .

Running 1000/1660 , 8192, 2 gpu threads for 680 kh/s. (any higher concurrency with the new cgminer is causing issues for me, probably because that system only has 2gb system ram).

Undervolted to 1.025 dropped 150 watts at full load (kill-a-watt from outlet).

The new cgminer works great in my other system though with a 7850, getting 380kh/s with concurrency 12000, 1100/1300. Whereas the old cgminer with 8192 only got me 330kh/s at the same clocks and power usage.

I think the 7850s are the best bang for the buck now, I paid $150 for the card, came with 2 games that I sold for $50, so total investment $100 for 380kh/s, at 100 watts, payback is under 60 days.

How are you undervolting at those clocks?

cgminer is using about 25% cpu when mining bitcoin.. Uses 0% cpu when mining litecoin..

Is this normal?
2457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin really really cheap right now? Or is it dying? on: March 21, 2013, 05:55:03 AM

But I think things are actually going the other way: ASICs make mining easier (for those who have them). If it takes less effort to get the bitcoins, since the miner is more efficient, then that miner will be willing to sell at a lower price. To use your analogy, if you know a gold rush is coming (and the supply of gold will go up), then why would you buy now? You would offer a lower price in anticipation of the increased supply.

But there is no increased supply.  The difficulty adjustments ensure that the supply remains fairly constant.

That is exactly my point. The supply is staying he same, but the people generating that supply are doing it more easily. So for the amount of the supply which is coming from miners, that amount should be available at a lower price. Then you have to take into account that the percentage of bitcoins being generated new each day is declining, and so the miners are becoming less and less of a factor in the pricing of bitcoins, so the argument is becoming less and less meaningful as time goes on. So a bitcoin is worth what people are willing to pay for it, miners just have to admit they have no control over the price at all.

I think it's better to think of it as a fairly fixed number of coins that can be mined per day, and the only thing that changes is who is mining them.
2458  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Seeking Advice -Which 7970 to buy now? on: March 20, 2013, 03:33:15 PM
I did a quick search and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814103201 is the cheapest one I could find that I believe to be voltage unlocked.  I would however do some more research before purchasing the card because I haven't found it specifically stated yet.  But there was a comment of someone having it overclocked to like  1125/1500+  and I just can't picture that being stable on stock volts.  The thing is it may have a slightly higher then the normal stock volts and that would explain it.  I can't stress how important it is to have the ability to undervolt these cards when it comes to mining and efficiency.  Unless you dont pay the power bill, but if your parents do - do them a favor and undervolt it! lol

I have that card, it can defintiely be undervolted. But again I would avoid diamond and newegg is out of stock on it anyways.

I have to say that I love the temp of your card.
all my powercolor 7950 reference card are working around 66-68 with under clocking and mining at 520  Undecided

today just saw some powercolor 7970 reference card on sale, 349.99 after 30 rebate, but the heat with single fan........

What site?
