2441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 15, 2022, 09:25:45 PM
Yeah, I'm also curious why Canelo looks slower than Bivol while most of Canelo's fights we're saw Canelo is very fast with his head movement. IMO 7 pounds aren't that huge, but we're seeing it's otherwise. I think it's because the boxers in light heavyweight division are greater than the boxers in super middleweight division at the current era. But Canelo would need to face Bivol again in the near future since no one can compete Canelo beside GGG in his current division.

It's just that Dmitry Bivol was able to limit Canelo's supposed potential. With how Bivol is able to corner Canelo most of the time, the latter becomes irritable and that leads him to destroy his own will to focus on the fight. Bivol successfully landed lots of punches making Canelo a punching bag. Because of that, Canelo feels disappointed and the result is, he feels he can't able to match Bivol's strategy.

Why you are curious that Canelo looks slower in that fight, remember that Bivol is not even fast. But with the right strategy by him, he was able to beat the heavy favorite which is Canelo, and him being the underdog wins the fight.

I quite remember that almost nobody, including me, thought that Bivol can really defeat and upset Canelo who is the heavy favorite at that time because we know that Canelo has already defeated one boxer in light-heavy. We also made some speculations that Bivol is kind of unfocused because his family was left in Russia when the war broke out. But Bivol proved to us that he can still successfully defend his belt given the situation he's on.

And Canelo is unstoppable at that point, he clean up the super MW division very easy, almost knocking down all the champions. That's how great Canelo is prior to Bivol fight. And then he moves up, and I will admit that I haven't follow the light-heavy but have heard Bivol and Beterviev's name as they are the champion in that division.

Sooner or later, Canelo and Bivol will again face each other for a rematch because super-middle is a kind of boring division to Canelo as he's already undisputed at the said division.

Yes, but he need to defeat his opponent right now in GGG and close their story. And then perhaps he will challenge Bivol at light-heavy again to avenge his defeat.

Indeed! Canelo was kind of heavy to defeat or upset at that point that's why it's really hard for almost all of us to look forward in Bivol's favor and even Canelo didn't expected that to happen, we saw how upset and irritated he was.

Well, he first fought Sergey Kovalev in LHW and collect the WBO title after he defeated Kovalev by way of KO before it reached to round 12 but decided to vacate the title afterwards because Canelo decided to move down in weight to chase the undisputed title in SMW.

Now, Canelo should just forget in the meantime that he lost to Bivol in upper weight to focus as he needed to close his chapter against Golovkin for the 3rd time because Golovkin is not an easy opponent even if he is already aging in 40's.
2442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: August 14, 2022, 12:48:58 PM

Actually Ancajas is not from Cebu though he is a bisdak but he came from General Santos if I'm not mistaken, mate. I also don't remember if he was once based in Cebu because if you are a champion boxer and based in Cebu, every little thing that happens to your life will be in the local news here but i have not heard anything about him locally  Smiley.
He was born and raised in Panabo Davao, so he is not in Cebu for sure, he is close to gensan as some of his fights are in gensan, his early fights.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerwin_Ancajas

Another boxer like Manny Pacquiao, the pride of Gensan, so winning the rematch would raise the flag of the Phlippines again.
Right now, there's not much  interest for the fans since Pacquiao has already retired, so we need one that will remain as a champion for long.

Yup, i have this feeling that he would avenge his loss but just be careful not to put much money on him because we never know the outcome. It's a good thing though that he would be the underdog now because even if we put a small amount, it will win a bit bigger unlike if he is the favorite.
I'm betting on him here, underdog or not, it doesn't matter, what's important is to win and go for a trilogy.
2443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 14, 2022, 11:39:43 AM
I've read one comment on Facebook about a good proposal for all these ruckuses about the contracts of players.
Especially, Kyrie who was being discussed about his "no back-to-back games" and "below 60 games".
I was unable to get the link as there is none and cannot find it anymore to print screen it.
But it goes like "Put him in per game contract if he likes playing only as when he wants to."
If I am not mistaken, this already happened before but I cannot remember who the player was. (Cousins, Melo, or Howard?) I think it's Melo.
The NBPA will surely be unhappy if Adam Silver decides this will be the new program regarding contracts.
The circulating greed for money while being lazy is too high in this era, something must be done or this will be out of control in the future.

I think Adam Silver will really need to step up here, because this is getting out of control now. There is a power shift and power grab amongst superstar players agains the owners.

This owners are willing to pay players super max contract but expect something in return. But recently, in case of Simmons, and the Irving and now Durant, there is no assurance from this owners that this superstars will play for them until the contract expires.

Something has to be done, players can request for a trade if he does not want to play? That's really something. Simmons started it first then we now have Durant and Irving, so now the management are seeing that the players (superstars) are already abusing their right, it's not anymore favorable to the owners who invested a lot of money.

First half is over and the score is 56-45, an 11 point lead by the Beermen. This is not looking good for the Meralco Bolts right now because we knew how good of a team SMB Beermen is in protecting leads like that. I think this is the only game that the Beermen have have a 2 digit lead after the first half, so yeah this might be the end for the Bolts and i think the Beermen will also cover the spread.

edit:

i'm totally wrong, what a comeback win by the Meralco Bolts. On to game7 we go.

That wasn't expected, Meralco not really giving up, they force the series to game 7 and I'm not to confident now that SMB will win. Now we go to the Magnolia vs TNT win, is it another game 7 series?

2446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: August 13, 2022, 06:22:08 PM
Campa though seems not to be intimidated by Lopez's stature, that's good, at least he will fight it out without any pressure whatsoever. Going to be big for Lopez if is he going to win by knock out again, and make a big comeback after that disaster from Kambosos last time.

That is good because Campa should stand his ground and not be intimidated because it is his own division and Lopez is just a newcomer looking to have a win on his debut in this new division he climbed on.

This will be fun to watch as both of them are eager enough to win big especially for Lopez because this fight will really dictate his future if he can have more big money fights in the future or Campa will wake him from that dream.
2447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 13, 2022, 05:11:14 PM
And I think going down in Super Flyweight division will be a good start for Donaire before he retires soon.

And a wise thing to do to prevent any heavy damage as he's not getting younger in the first place.

I'm sure he can still fight and even won on other Bantamweights but he should accept the fact that the time for him is now nearing and settling at a much lower weight can give more chances of winning while getting a good paycheck. With his fame and status, there might be a chance that he will always get 60/40 purse split for any of his fights on this division while waiting for a chance for a title match.

Donaire still has it that's why he wants to continue fighting. It's just that Inoue is really on the other level and no one from the bantamweight can defeat this guy, not even the other Bantamweight Champion Paul Butler which will soon facing each other for the undisputed champion. I even think that Casimero won't even stand a chance against Inoue. He is just a hype and no offense for him and to his fans here.

A wise thing to do indeed considering that his numbers are growing day by day and he won't able to withstand stronger punches and stronger opponents in the upper divisions like in the bantamweight. Sure, he does have a chance to defeat some boxers if he will stay at the bantamweight, and no doubt that he can defeat Butler in the process but then again he'll face Inoue after that fact. We already know what would likely happen if these two will face again.

Quote

I can't really say if Casimero has what it takes to defeat Inoue but I want to see what would be the result though.
2448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 13, 2022, 04:45:31 PM
Spence should stop making excuses, he should focus on his fight with Crawford and make sure it will happen his year. There's no reason that they will move when one of them cannot be an undisputed champion, I hope they will not be greedy, it's time to give the fans what we are hoping to see.

I'm not aware that Spence is doing excuses for this fight not to happened. Both sides are even silent.

Are you talking about today's negotiation and Spence is doing excuses? Or you are referring to the previous attempts to organize this fight?

If you are referring to Spence's excuses in today's negotiations, can you provide a link for that? I tried to search for it but found nothing. What I see is only a lack of information about the status of this fight and that article shared above.

Nah, Crawford is not silent and I understand why he is so keen to put some pressure to make the fight happen because time is not on his side while Spence is still fresh this year from his fight with Ugas that resulted in a TKO in his favor. Crawford has been giving updates but the bottom line of that update is that both camps are yet to agree on something.
2449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 13, 2022, 11:21:38 AM
And since they can't be simply be traded right away because the Nets wants more, and you can't blame them. Again, it boils down on the money they put in the line and they want something in return, like future draft picks, because that's what the lost as well when they sign the 2.

Money is not a problem since once Kevin Durant is traded, the contract offered by the Brooklyn Nets to him will be voided at some point.

The Nets is asking for a much good trading package because Durant is a big name and offering future draft picks can't satisfy them since, in the first place, they already gave up their future picks when they sign Durant and Irving.

As much as possible, they like a set of players that are as worthy as Durant's playing skills. But if they keep on insisting more, they will have a hard time trading him and they might end up a not worthy trade in return.

Seems like they still don't want to trade Durant as no team could match their demand, and what will happen is that Durant and Irving will stay, let's hope they will be the same and will not just play without passion. It's not a good situation for these two players who are actually no love anymore on the team.

They are willing if the team who wanted to receive Durant can give their demand and for sure it will be hard for any team since they are

asking too much. Durant is no longer in his prime and he is an injury prone star. It was the Net who gamble for him and now they wanted to have

Better exchange. Nothing can be accomplished if they will keep the high demand that they are asking, Durant will be stuck with the Nets

and he needs to play.

Exactly, he is no longer on his prime and yet the Nets are still pricing him like he is a young superstar. They should consider that the risk is on them because if they will keep Durant that long and the team will continue to struggle, they are just burning their money since Durant will be paid no matter what.
2450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: August 13, 2022, 10:43:41 AM
^^ We gonna support him no matter what, if he losses again, then so be it. But if by chance he avenge his defeat then he could obviously get the belt back and win it for the Philippines again.

And if they see their mistakes in the first fight and let Ancajas box the way he wants then maybe we can see him winning but it will be a tough battle for sure. As you have said, Martinez now has the confidence an wanted to show that it's no fluke taking the belt from Ancajas.

That confidence will be gone if Ancajas will bounce back and beat him. Well, we can also expect a trilogy as it's not fair if Ancajas will say not for another fight after he beats Martinez, and for me, that will make their rivalry exciting to follow.

Yeah, perhaps a trilogy will be in the horizon if Ancajas win and fans wants more of this matchup. Maybe the picture is that Martinez leads in the scorecard and then Ancajas hit his patented power and knock out Martinez for good to get his belt back.

That will be a scenario waiting for a trilogy to happen. And for Jerwin, he really need to bounce back here, we can call this a 'necessary victory' that needed and before a winner takes all 3rd fight is to happen.

That time Jerwin will be the favorite, so if we really believe that he will win here, we should be confident on putting our bet as it's a best opportunity for us to take a high odds for Ancajas being the underdog. It's more than a month, hopefully there's no major things would happen that will hindrance of making this fight to happen.

Ok here is the press conference leading up to the fight:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZlb_dIyIWE

The usual, both fighters are very confident on themselves that they are going to win the fight.

Going to be interesting the undercard of Xander Zayas vs Elias Espadas for the Junior Middleweight.

Thanks, almost forgot that this fight will be this Sunday in my timezone. Again, I will be waiting for a free streaming link here, who knows someone would give a link that we could watch this fight for free. I'm expecting Lopez will win here as I'm sure he won't waste this opportunity to come back.

TNT -3.5 vs Magnolia (o-u 185)

Magnolia's keys to winning:

a) if they can work out to limit committing early fouls
b) a boost and adjustment from Calvin Abueva and Paul Lee
c) stop TNT Poy Erram's dominance at the paint

They are surely doing great work limiting Mikey Williams but that's it. That allows other TNT players to make that an advantage instead.

If none of those were done, that should be TNT -3.5 and will advance to Finals now.

Unless there's an attempt to make it to another game for much more ticket sales for revenue purposes lol. Just kidding. Cheesy

First half and the score is 59-45 in favor of the Hotshots, though there's so much time left but if they continue on what they did, Magnolia will survive this one and we will see a game 6. There's a balance on the offensive output on the guys for Magnolia with Barroca leading the way with 16 points while Paul Lee and Abueva have 9 apiece.

Hotshots won the game, they really bounced back, this time they made sure they will dominate TNT.

On the game 2, we have Meralco leading again, it looks like the same scenario in game 3, if they'll win this they'll be one win ahead to be in the Finals.
2453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: August 10, 2022, 10:23:04 PM
Its good to know that there's a rematch because this is the chance for Ancajas to regain the world title again. In their last fight, Ancajas is lacking of defense and power punches, it seems like he's not in good condition or should I say not prepared at that time. Well, I hope he will redeem himself because he is just starting to establish his name and not yet had a strong opponent aside from Martinez.

He really needs to put his heart and be motivated to get back what he had lost in their last fight to gain back the momentum of his life to push his dream to become a legendary boxer like Manny Pacquiao. Anyway, this is really a big fight for him and I'm sure he trained a lot to get ready for this fight and we might gonna see a different version of him, stronger and have some good strategy on how to beat Martinez, hope that it will work for him.
Martinez was the stronger fighter on their first fight, you can tell  that Ancajas has loss his stamina in the later rounds, reason why he cannot keep up with the challenger. Bouncing back after a big loss is possible, he should also look for a KO, that way it will give him an impressive win.

The excuse that Ancajas gave is that he experience some cramps early and that's why he seems to be out shape and others see him losing his stamina in the later round.

I'm not expert in sports medicine, but the first thing we learn is that if we feeling cramps in legs then we might think that he did over train and put strain on his legs or he is dehydrated due to losing a lot of weight to make the cut. Hopefully his team will fix it so that he can recover and get back his title.

Whatever the reason is, that will not excuse him to get away from that defeat he got in their first encounter and it might be just good for Ancajas if he will just admit that he didn't expect Martinez to be that good that's why he lost the fight and it's somehow clear that his stamina is not keeping up in the late rounds too. Maybe this time they can score a win and bring back the championship belt to the Philippines.
2454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 10, 2022, 01:35:35 PM
He can match with other boxers that he haven't taken yet and I guess that's where he should focused first before aiming for someone like Inoue again.

A rematch with Inoue is not even close to happening. The time Nonito Donaire will take a shot again at the Bantamweight title, Inoue might be at the point now where he challenges boxers in a much upper-weight division (probably at 122 lbs up) which is possibly his next task if he will become an undisputed champion on the bantamweight.

That is a huge possibility, despite that possibility,  I am still wondering if the Inoue and Casimero fight happened, who would have won?  Is there a chance for Casimero to win that fight?  I heard from some Youtube blogger that Donaire is evading Casimero because the latter has a huge possibility to beat Donaire.

Well, maybe that blogger was right that Casimero has a high chance to defeat Donaire than the other way around, I mean we saw Donaire's recent performance and we can really say that he ain't that much of the Filipino Flash anymore that we used to know. And I think going down in Super Flyweight division will be a good start for Donaire before he retires soon.

I think Donaire can still beat any at bantamweight, not name Inoue. Naoya is too much for this weight division, he is really above and elite on this level. As far as Casimero vs Donaire, it will still be a toss-up, 50/50 in my opinion. Casimero most of the time is reckless and we all see how Donaire counter is, if he perfectly caught Casimero coming in, then I wouldn't be surprised to see him getting knock out by Donaire. However, this is a foregone conclusion for now, Donaire wants to go down in weight, while we don't know what will be Casimero plan in his career.

Yes, Donaire can still defeat any boxer in the bantamweight division but he will still end up facing Inoue because the latter has 3 belts in the said division and he might be an undisputed boxer this year if he will get a fight against Paul Butler. So, Donaire needed to go down in weight if he wanted to be a champion again and defeat boxers along the way.
And about Casimero, I really don't know what is his plan because he's been silent for some months now but maybe he will pursue his career in the upper weight class and might bump into Inoue if the latter will also climb the same division to collect some belts too.
2455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 10, 2022, 01:19:15 PM
I've read an update from the Lakers in social media that they might probably going to re-run the Lakers roster with AD, Westbrook, and James and this time they'll run the offense primarily with AD and Westbrook so they can execute a better offensive plays.
Did some of you guys heard the same news?
IMO, they also need to improve their defense, because that's a more reliable weapon than just improvising the offensive end without bringing the defensive plan on the table.

It's more of AD, I will agree to that and if I'm not mistaken during their championship run, it was really AD as their first choice in offense, even last season. The problem is that AD gets injured more often and just play minimal minutes and not 100% healthy. If he will be injury free next season then good as he will get a lot of touches in the paint, probably posting some big men. And then throw it out to their shooters for open shot, even WB can be a good option in the 3's. Or the receiver can do a quick penetration for easy two or dunks.

Seems like it, they will start to play like they were in 2020 when they got the title but this time with a slight change in their roster because back at that time, they don't have Westbrook and they got more extra players that could be reliable when one of their main line-ups is resting.

I believe Darvin Ham has a plan and part of that is utilizing Westbrook's capabilities while AD will do most of the offense, this might work. Let's find out soon, they just have to be healthy throughout the season though.
2456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 09, 2022, 09:28:37 PM
I agree, it was a bold prediction by one of the legends, Bernard Hopkins. Although Canelo is no longer with them (Golden Boy), he is still ion the bandwagon,  Grin. So we respect that.

But then again, boxers, boxing 'experts' and fans have its own speculation. Even in our community, and for us we wanted to see GGG winning the fight, it will be good if this is going to be by stoppage or knock out. But we wanted to see at the end, his hands being raised as the winner.
I respect Hopkins he has done a lot for boxing as a boxer and as a promoter, he could have made a prediction that Canelo will win against GGG by the decision but for Canelo knocking out GGG easily I just don't know where this coming from, that's to much confidence on Canelo and a big disrespect for GGG, he should back it up if he is confident on his prediction by daring anyone for 1 million bets, he might eat his own words I am on the community that GGG still has what it takes to beat him after GGG has never been dominantly beaten or even knocked out.
He might be thinking that GGG is already old and Canelo who came from a dissapointing lose will try to redeem himself. I know he will be wrong because GGG is not an easy opponent, although Canelo won the last fight but the last two fights was very controversial, which means no clear winner in the eyes of the fans.

Yes, that is why people wanted the trilogy years ago because it's very unclear who dominates more as we can see that they are both having a hard time proving to each other who is much dominant. Gladly, a trilogy was given to us but it's somehow late already because GGG is not that young anymore but I can still say that he still has what it takes to defeat Canelo and gave the latter a hard time.

Of course, there is a chance that GGG will be defeated and we are not that blind not to see it, but what Hopkins said was an overstatement because it will be really a hard task to defeat GGG by a KO.
2457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 09, 2022, 09:03:09 PM
Any wild forecast and news about the status of this fight?

According to my backread here, seems no good progress till now and everyone is still hanging.

Or I just miss some news that there's progress now? Can anyone share it?

Yes, seems that there is no progress in their must awaited fight and we aren't that sure yet that this fight will really materialize this year. If we search for updates or progress about the Spence-Crawford fight on the internet, we can see that there are new articles that have surfaced but the bottom line is that the fight is still in the works.

Crawford must do something if he's eager to have a fight this year before he gets inactive for a year now. About that, he said that he's looking forward to fighting Jermell Charlo if this undisputed bout won't go through this year.

Yes, seems that there is no really fresh news around about the progress of the fight. I also did my own research of mine but like anyone else, I don't see such big news or even a hint from anywhere that the fight is really closed to happening. Regarding your last statement, I also read elsewhere before that the name Jermell Charlo is being linked to Terence Crawford but since there's no news or even speculation that Crawford will take Charlo instead, therefore the negotiation with Spence's Camp is still underdoing.

The speculation of this fight is set to date on September or October, right? We can now disregard the chances of the fight happening next month. October still has a chance if the negotiations will be successfully take place this month. The worst is, no news until the end of the year lol.

There is now news about Terence Crawford going against Jermell Charlo in the higher division for now but Crawford said that he might go if he will sense that this undergoing discussion with Spence's camp won't be certain in the weeks to come, for now let's just hope that this fight will really happen because we really waited for this to happen and this is the nearest case we had.

Yes, their fight is said to happen somewhere in October in Las Vegas but that is just an if for now as we don't have any news regarding this undisputed fight.
2458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Fengshui on: August 09, 2022, 08:18:23 PM
what i do believe is that Not only in China but in the whole world as we knew that Chinese scattered around the world and if there is chinese then there will be a fengshui believer and follower.

and also there are fengshui experts now that offers their skills for the businessmen and yeah many are subscribing with this.

Well, you're quite right about that but that is in the old times because nowadays, not all Chinese people are a believer in Feng Shui nor used it in their daily lives or as a lucky charm. So, I think it's not certain to say that all Chinese folks that have scattered almost throughout the world are Feng Shui believers or a follower.

Personally, I don't really believe in these kinds of things but don't take it wrong because I understand and respect their beliefs about it. It's just that I see Feng Shui more as a business for the Chinese people. Just my thought though.

Not every Chinese really believes in Feng Shui. It's still a personal choice. To some, it just became a part of their tradition and maybe upbringing as well.

I guess everything is about business nowadays. Charms and other things that are believed to bring good luck and abundance are being sold to the market which some people are fond of. It's not really a bad thing as long as they don't scam or utter false promises for the sake of profit. some people just like those kind of things after all because it is aesthetically pleasing and perhaps because they were influenced to. Either way, to each his own.

Yes, but research shows that there's only less than one-third of the whole Chinese population who don't believe in Feng Shui at all. So we can still say that it's being practiced and passed down through generations until this very day and in the future, there will be still believers and followers of their culture.

As much as I wanted to know about the roots of these beliefs, I find it hard to understand because of their complexities and other things that is involved in it. It's just amazing for me that these beliefs is still passed down. The only thing that I consider downside of this is that many people around the world are selling Feng Shui stuff that is believed to be lucky for the person who will buy it but they don't even practice Feng Shui themselves and don't know how to explain it further.

Since you people can't gamble because of the lack of money, this means that this idea of gambling with fake money suit you the most. If gambling is available to you with fake money, will you people gamble and get some entertainment? Since you will have nothing to lose, you will enjoy gambling the most. However, i wonder what will the gambling casino earn if they allow gambling with fake money:Smiley

Not a good idea to start either, I mean they are doing just fine even without these fake apps with fake amounts of money, and using these kinds of apps will just put fuel in their hidden desires towards where the real gambling is. I understand the motive and what you're trying to say but the solution you're trying to offer will probably destroy their lives if it turns out that they will be curious about gambling.

I personally think that if a person is gambling with fake money then he won't be so addicted to gambling at first place.
Why I am saying this is because when you gamble with real money it gives you a thrill which in turn gives you the adrenaline rush which fake money cannot provide.
So the probability of addiction through gambling with fake money is really low. The human mind only produces dopamine when we are getting a reward out of something.
Money is the reward in gambling. If there's no real money then there's not enough dopamine to get us into the addiction stage.
Most probably after one point we will get bored by playing the games.

Yes, that is also possible and yes it's true that only real gambling can only give us the thrill we seek as it's where we can make real money despite of odds that are against us. But there's also a big possibility that a person will be tempted to go where the real deal is because he or she will start to believe that if he can win in fake gambling, then he or she can also have the same win in the real gambling with the same technique.
