2461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 19, 2022, 06:21:53 AM
In general, some basic skills are required in sports betting. If not, the chances of winning the bet are slightly reduced. Both luck and skill are required. If one's favorite celebrity is betting on a game, some fans will prefer to bet on the same site. Again many will give importance to his own analysis. It basically depends on the personal preference of the gambler.
If I like a celebrity, I can use the betting site the celebrity is using, but that does not mean I will use the celebrity predictions. I may check his predictions, make my own analyses and see if it is good or not. But I have never done that before, I use prediction sites sometimes, but most importantly is my own ways and analysing the both clubs that are playing, checking their recently past performances, their players that are playing and checking their head to head. It is just foolishness to solely depend on celebrity endorsed by a betting site.
2462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 18, 2022, 08:35:28 AM
A celebrity is just a regular guy who is more famous than I am, why should I have believed his predictions because he said so? I am wagering with my own money, not any free money, it would be silly for me to do so.
Celebrities can be well known and they can influence a lot of things, but they also are the ones that do mislead people, not kind of person like me they misled but people that have little knowledge and no experience about something. Just like in gambling, anyone that just go for Drake's prediction without making analyses of his own is just a fool and such person can not have good gambling strategies. I was very surprised that Barcelona can be chosen to win Real Madrid when Real Madrid is not bad at all while playing and it is Real Madrid's home.
2463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 17, 2022, 06:58:29 AM
however before this match i am aware to Newcastle because seems they had impressive performance lately and apparently this id just happens today that they can steal point from Manchester United
Newcastle is good and would be able to stand against some top clubs in premier league, but Newcastle is not winning matches. Out of 10 matches played, he has won only 3, so I do not expect Newcastle to win, but may not suffer being won.

Liverpool's victory is of course very important for Liverpool and Klopp. This indicates that the Reds began to rise. The signal of the resurrection of Klopp's troops has also been seen when Mohammed Salah and his friends were able to crush Rangers in the Champions League.
Yes, Liverpool won, but it is more important to Manchester City's rival which is Arsenal. This may boost Arsenal players strength to play more as they see more opportunities of title winning likeliness.
2464  Economy / Gambling / Re: Regulations & Gambling projects on: October 17, 2022, 06:19:15 AM
There's nothing happening with gambling projects if crypto will be regulated. Im sure that the regulation will be putting its focus into the taxation for crypto users and AML. The gambling platform just need to follow what will be did by regulators. It's quite easy to follow the regulation.
I think this will not become a serious problem for the platforms that are also supporting the crypto.
Yes, regulation is not a problem at all, crypto just helped more in payment. Making payment, both deposit and withdraw faster which is one of the reasons I prefer to use crypto for gambling.

But on the other hand, some people are gambling from where gambling is not legal, such people may want to bet using foreign sites and prefer no KYC, but I won't advice such because it is already stated on most of the gambling sites ToS that people from some named countries and places are not allowed to gamble on their site.

There is no problem that regulation poses, it is for AML and some other good reasons.
2465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Survey] Do you still play or stop the game? on: October 16, 2022, 06:22:28 AM
The choice is always been on your mood or preference for that playing session, sometimes you got the urge to continue you are in the hype and you believe you can win more, it's the dopamine that urges you to bet more for more rewards, and sometimes you need to take a break and withdraw the money to chill up if you're coming from a series of loss in your recent sessions, stopping and enjoy your winning is more preferable and will give you a breather for a fresh start in your next session.
That is true, it supposed to be the urge. If you feel like gambling, you can continue. But as for me, it is not  only about my feeling to gamble or not, if I am winning and I feel like to continue gambling, I can but I will reduce the money I place on each bet. If I lose all, I will stop because I will not want to play with my initial amount of money that I started with, it would only be the beginning of losses for me. But in most cases, I prefer to just stop if I have won a considerable amount of money which could be small to some people but enough for me.

The research has to be inaccurate, because there is no way to know correctly the percentage of Canadians, Brazilians, Americans or any country at all that plan to buy crypto in 2024, people pass away, go broke, change their plans and so on and on, the data is not something i would even want to take very seriously.
OSC, Ontario Securities Commission is based in Canada and it is only about Canadians. We can make conclusion that anything can change, but I do not see anything inaccurate based on the research. The research is not about speculation, not about what bitcoin price would be by 2024, but based on what they know about Canadians presently. Definitely people can change their decision, but that does not mean the research is not accurate, but could be what people should not use to speculate what would happen to bitcoin price.

To show you an example of how pointless this whole research thing is, I'll have to break my rule of not posting links from this source, but here's what another article says : 61% of Americans may purchase crypto in 2022, a new survey says.
That is true, we should not depend on news about this. I saw this link and I was surprised that 2022 could be suggested that more Americans are going to buy cryptocurrencies. What I noticed from this is that people that fomo can also be part of the research, the market can fall and the people that fomo can sell which can lead to bear market. I will not accept this type of research again.
2467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another opportunity is coming, a time to hold on: October 15, 2022, 08:27:44 AM
What if Canadians had moved earlier without sticking to the data simply for targeting the year 2024 when the 4 year Bull occurs. They don't want to miss the train that took them early to welcome ATH Bitcoin. I know that Canadians will do it without having to inform the government about the data being taken officially. 30% of people are willing to be interviewed but the rest may have invested in Bitcoin during a bear market.
You are right, some people would have been holding by now. There would be some bull and bear market before 2024. But I am only saying that time investment would likely be huge which will drive bitcoin to all-time-high.

Even if this data is totally accurate, who's to say that they wouldn't change their mind? I could almost guarantee a huge majority of people who bought into the bitcoin hype at near all-time highs were also planning on holding. But yet? Most of them panic sold.
If it turns out as planned, there won't be bull market by early 2024. Even if bull market started it, it won't yet be significant. It would be a good time to hold if invested early before halving. I so much believe in 2024 halving to drive bitcoin to all-time-high.
2468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum becoming censoring complaint? on: October 15, 2022, 08:19:24 AM
51% of Ethereum blocks are now compliant with OFAC standards, raising censorship concerns

Quote
OFAC stands for the Office of Foreign Assets Control, the entity in charge of enforcing United States economic sanctions, while MEV-Boost relays are centralized entities that act as trusted mediators between block producers and block builders. In this way, all Ethereum proof-of-stake (PoS) validators can outsource their block production to other builders.

This metric tracks how many blocks were built by OFAC-compliant MEV-Boost relays since the Merge. Due to Ethereum's upgrade to a PoS consensus, MEV-Boost has been enabled to a more representative distribution of block proposers, rather than a small group of miners under proof-of-work (PoW).

According to what Lachan Feeney, Labrys' CEO noted that in hard censorship, that no matter how much you paid or how long you wait, that sanctioned transactions would never get included into a block. That nodes would be forced by regulation to discard those blocks that contains sanctioned transactions. Also that in case of soft censorship, when sanctioned transactions would eventually be validated, that it would likely result in long waits and high-priority fees, making the user experience substandard.

Quote
According to Labrys' page, there are currently seven major MEV-oost relays including Flashbots, BloXroute Max Profit, BloXroute Ethical, BloXroute Regulated, BlockNative, Manifold and Eden. "Of the 7 available major relays, only 3 do not censor according to OFAC compliance requirements. OFAC compliant relays will not include any transactions that interact with the Tornado Cash smart contract or other sanctioned wallet addresses as designated by OFAC," stated the company.
2469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Another opportunity is coming, a time to hold on: October 15, 2022, 07:16:42 AM
I have been very busy which makes me not to post this very early as it was last week news. Just that it is still very much worth it to post this.

More than 30% of Canadians plan to purchase crypto by 2024, says OSC head

Some people said a period of time will shock people when the price of bitcoin will no more rise using the 4 years cycle. Some even said that bitcoin market is matured already that this bull run trends may not become possible by 2024. But the good news is, you should still believe in bitcoin, it will not disappoint you in the next cycle.

According to Ontario Securities Commission head, the chief executive officer, Grant Vingoe, he said that they know from their research that 30% of Canadians are willing to invest in crypto asset by 2024.

Quote
“We know from our own research (being published later this month) that more than 30 per cent of Canadians plan to buy crypto assets in the next year [...] It is a challenge to bar non-compliant firms from offering services in Canada. With a limited budget and finite Enforcement staff to cover our entire capital markets, there is only so much we can do. But we are making progress.”

I believe if this kind of research is conducted in many other countries, more people will want to invest in crypto by 2024. And what should we expect by that time and 2025? Bull run.
2470  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you visit the casino while travelling? on: October 15, 2022, 06:12:55 AM
It seems to me that in the age of digitalization and online services, traditional offline casinos will be gradually replaced, but this may happen much later. Now the influence of offline casinos is still at a high level and those who want to gamble live are still high. An important factor here is that in an online casino there is no live communication with other people, players, staff, and so on, which is undoubtedly present in an offline casino. Also, offline casinos have their own atmosphere, various drinks and attributes, which will also be a plus for a certain category of people who want to gamble and have a good time. In fact, an offline casino is a place for entertainment that allows you to get certain emotions that are not in an online casino.
In short, gambling in offline casino is far exciting and enjoyable than online casinos, online casinos are not that interesting but not bad if you play with friends while all of you go online to gamble, you will be able to give yourself advice. On offline casino, addiction also exists, but not as worst as it is on online casinos as people play alone, lose and deposit more funds from bank account or crypto which are almost instantly for gamblers to play more.

As for online casinos to replace offline casinos, I doubt that. There are some people that will prefer offline casinos just because of the excitement they are getting from it. Online casinos are just substitutes, making more people to gamble.
2471  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you visit the casino while travelling? on: October 14, 2022, 07:21:15 PM
Visiting a physical casino is time-consuming and once one enters the physical casino he does not realize how much time has passed because he has no sense of time due to the addiction he is in. This is why online casinos are becoming very popular now because here anyone has  After completing the daily activities and finishing his job then in his free time he can play there casino and access it very easily. that is the great point
If you enter a shopping mall, you will not know when time has passed, you will not even know it is night already, but people are always still visiting shopping mall. So you can not say that people are not visiting casinos because they do not use to know that time has passed. Even only new people in casinos that can happen to, people that has been gambling there would always know to check the time on their watch or phone. Just that online casinos are easily accessed at the comfort of your home is the reason more people are gambling more on online casinos.
2472  Economy / Gambling / Re: Regulations & Gambling projects on: October 14, 2022, 06:22:00 AM
The thing is, people with ill intention of hiding their money and get away from their financial obligation to government use crypto platform to launder money.  They use the guise of decentralization and influence others to make believe that it is the right of a citizen to evade taxes  Grin.
How did you know this? Any provable way or stat you read about this? With KYC, people still launders money, with banks people still launders money too. Before bitcoin and other cryptos are created, there has been money laundering.

True, if we are worried about our information getting leaked, we must choose reputable casinos and comply to whatever requirements they need in order for us to use their services.
A reputable casinos or sites do not guarantee that the KYC that you provided them will not leak, do not let us think like that. But you are not wrong too, a reputable casino will protect KYC than other ones. Some casinos can even be for scammers and use KYC illegally, we must be careful while choosing casino.
2473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Split the prize or Reroll? on: October 14, 2022, 06:10:58 AM
Let's say you join a give away with other user and both have to select a number between 1 and 10, you go for 7 while he goes for 9. The winning number is 8.

If the prize is 0.1BTC what would you do? Split the prize and walk away with 0.05 or Reroll to gamble for the full prize?
What are the terms and conditions given about the giveaway? Anything like anyone that has a guess closer to the number would be given the reward? If no condition like that stated, no one wins between the two people because the winning is 8 while the guesses are 7 and 9, which mean no winner. If stated in their terms and conditions like that, another guess would be conducted for two close winners again. But this kind of thing is not likely to happen during this type of guess.
2474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Distortion Pattern on: October 14, 2022, 05:58:27 AM
Here's the percentage of how many gamblers are facing those pattern in the reality:
Pattern I = 1%
Pattern II = 75%
Pattern III = 20%
Pattern IV = 4%

Most people will suffer on the pattern II since house always win, this make gamblers have lower chance to win the games. The second is pattern III where they're have been lucky on few bets and it's cover their previous losses, but since they're greedy they will lose. Then the third is pattern IV, after they're regret to not cash out his winnings, they will keep bet until they comeback. The last is pattern I, this is only for a professional gambler.
I like this, it looks like the way I can think about it too, that most people only gamble for a means to make money and what they eager more about is winning and not about making use of gambling to entertain themselves, because of this, more gamblers lose while the gambling sites are making money daily, that is not a lie. But where did you get this stat?
2475  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you visit the casino while travelling? on: October 13, 2022, 06:27:42 AM
Yes, physical gambling sites provide many benefits to their customers due to which many people enter the physical casino and get those services for free even if they don't gamble, like in Singapore, if a foreigner visits their casino, they give some free dollars as a welcome. Due to which many people visit those casinos but it creates a lure in people and eventually they get attracted to gambling and start gambling.
It would also be fun if someone just visit a foreign casino, it would be fun seeing people and having the games played live. But people of nowadays are preferring online casinos than physical casinos because of easy access and able to gamble anywhere you are, but the fun can be seen in physical casinos. If the people in the country I visit are friendly and welcoming foreigners, I can try their physical casino if nearby where I went to because of the fun.
2476  Economy / Gambling / Re: To what extent do you chase anonymity while gambling? on: October 13, 2022, 06:10:09 AM
but with this behavior? you are only making your self prone from addiction because you are the only one who sees what you do In gambling , not like if there are others who can observe your activities , then advises may come for you to learn what comes good or bad, so better to choose what action to do and whom to follow.
Because someone do not like to gamble in an open place where people can see, that does not mean the person is an addict. I understood you, but some people can lose large amount of money in such gambling places too, but it would reduce addiction if compared to online gambling site. I for one too do not like to gamble where people will see me, I stick to my mobile phone and computer to gamble at my home in a way nobody knows that I am gambling, but people around me like friends and siblings knows that I am gambling. So it depends on who you are. If I do not see a reason for the public to know, but I just know that I shouldn't hide it from people very close to me.
2477  Economy / Economics / Central authority can be biased. Referring to TikTok on: October 12, 2022, 09:59:43 AM
Let me make few quotes from this BBC news that makes me emotional because of the way poor people in camp in Syria were exploited by TikTok.

Quote
Children are livestreaming on the social media app for hours, pleading for digital gifts with a cash value. The BBC saw streams earning up to $1,000 (£900) an hour, but found the people in the camps received only a tiny fraction of that.

Quote
The company said this type of content was not allowed on its platform, and it said its commission from digital gifts was significantly less than 70%. But it declined to confirm the exact amount.

Quote
The gifts they're asking for are virtual, but they cost the viewers real money and can be withdrawn from the app as cash. Livestream viewers send the gifts - ranging from digital roses, costing a few cents, to virtual lions costing around $500 - to reward or tip creators for content.

Quote
Families in the camps said they were receiving only a tiny fraction of these sums, however.

Quote
With TikTok declining to say how much it takes from gifts, the BBC ran an experiment to track where the money goes.

A reporter in Syria contacted one of the TikTok-affiliated agencies saying he was living in the camps. He obtained an account and went live, while BBC staff in London sent TikTok gifts worth $106 from another account.

At the end of the livestream, the balance of the Syrian test account was $33. TikTok had taken 69% of the value of the gifts.

Quote
The $33 remaining from the BBC's $106 gift was reduced by a further 10% when it was withdrawn from the local money transfer shop. TikTok middlemen would take 35% of the remainder, leaving a family with just $19.

This is why I like bitcoin, no central authority is involved, rather than virtual assets that can only be converted to fiat on TikTok.

I see this as a way TikTok is exploiting poor people with the centralized tradable virtual assets on the platform. What about you, is this not an exploit while TikTok is saying it is the people in the camp that are exploiting the minors (or let us use donators)?

2478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone who buys Coins from the Top50 will stay poor on: October 12, 2022, 09:23:43 AM
ModeFi just pumped like those high marketcap coin in 2021. But the main disadvantage of the coin is low liquidity and only yet trading on six decentralized exchanges, with low liquidity. Only trading on one centralized exchange which is Kucoin. Having just $3 million in marketcap.

Low marketcap projects can fail, you may think it would pump, but become a shit coin.

I will prefer high marketcap coins like bitcoin and other with above $300 million worth in marketcap, they are better than low marketcap coins which have the problem of trading volume and most prone to become a shit coin.
2479  Economy / Gambling / Re: To what extent do you chase anonymity while gambling? on: October 12, 2022, 06:52:01 AM
i realize that KYC is very risky especially on online platforms that are vulnerable to hacking. but for me it's safe to give KYC on a reputable platform
KYC is risky to give to any site, even if given to a reputable site, that does not mean the so called reputable site will not sell it or give it out to another organization or people. The only person you can trust about KYC is yourself. If you submit it on any platform, that means there is more chances it can be known to another people. Even if that is aside, there is also the risk that any online platform can be hacked and KYC of the people using the site can be stolen, a reputable site can be hackedbas well. But I am not saying people should give out their KYC to new sites that are more likely a scammer or hackers that may use the KYC against the owners.
2480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest Heavily ALT now on: October 11, 2022, 05:40:48 PM
There are two methods you can invest, 1) RSI Based 2) DCA(dollar cost average)
What do you mean by RSI? Relative Strength Index?

I self going to invest in Alts after 2024.
A good time to invest. Bitcoin halving would be around March 2044. Investing around that time would be better. But I am thinking next massive price drop would be the best time to invest in altcoins, but which the coins would increase and later decrease back.
