2461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4.45 million bitcoin untouched for 5yrs,do BTC community can retrieve in future? on: June 03, 2022, 12:30:15 AM
My questions is that ' is there any possibility that some point in time in future BTC community might decide something which can retrieve this lost BTCs?

The community is not built to retrieve any bitcoin for anyone, what is the assurance that the key to that bitcoin has lost as you said? There are people who have bought bitcoin for more than 7 years, they haven't spent a single sats from it, despite some soft fork like the use of native segwit address, they still prefer the first legacy wallet address to avoid chain surveillance from puting nose in their holdings.
If anyone do this, you are breaking the trust of the community, it will be impossible to even break into these wallet address except you have some tips about that wallet addresses like some missing part of the private keys or wallets dat

I remember seeing caution in most of the exchange especially when it is your first time in the their platform, they will give you some sorts of warning on how volatile cryptocurrency are and know what you are buying. Crypto is very volatile and anything can happen, the way they pump so fast is the way they do when it crashes but most crashes happens to shitcoins, not really bitcoin.
Luna was a good coin and good investment, it just that many were caught in hot pot that they never expected to dry there pocket, it was so painful that many of them were already on profits but chose to hold for the long vision they see in the project just like they do in most other projects but it went down so badly that even the venture capitals and angel investors were hit very hard.
2463  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin 101: Share an Unpopular Opinion you hold about Bitcoin with Newbies on: June 03, 2022, 12:01:19 AM
If you know you can't hold bitcoin for long term, please never start it, you may regret your action by buying high and selling low, that's the worst thing anyone can do. Bitcoin holding is very rewarding for long term, sometimes short term also may count but I prefer the first.
If you can't make security one of your priorities, there is no point in buying bitcoin, holding it and later give out freely to scammers because of carelessness, your security should be your top priority, don't lose guard else you may becomes victim of Bitcoin loss.
Lastly, let your investments remain private, there's no points in trying to prove that you hold bitcoin or crypto, you are putting your life at stake, the world is wicked, nobody to be trusted these days.

Hilarious  Grin Grin

It's funny how scammer get to such lengths. I watched the video and couldn't help but laugh

I reported the video. YouTube is annoying though, when you report such frauds, they sometimes don't even bother removing them or take way too long to remove them but try reporting a case of hate speech against pointless movements like LGBTQ, they will act as if they are on steroids  Undecided

The problem is not the scammers, it is the YouTube who are lazy for checking out what is happening, I have not seen a useless AI bots like that of YouTube, the annoying part is that when you report these scams, I think there should be scam folder somewhere that shows list of scams reported but even with that, they wouldn't delete or stop the live stream.
I don't know the kind of algorithm they use in all kinds of this fake videos, If they use the energy to do some thing that's more productive, they will gain something but a scammers will always be a scammer. However, newbies should know that there is no free money anywhere.
2465  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter to pay $150 million for selling users data for Ads on: June 02, 2022, 09:14:25 PM
When we register on any site that requires data such as email, mobile phone, even in exchanges today that most must provide data for KYC will make us always worry if the data we provide is sold, anything for money then can make controversy things, and Of the many cases of hack data in many exchanges and sites like Facebook and Twitter, I never verify KYC.

Looking at Twitter situation is different, they don't request for documentation to KYC, so no one will suspect them of selling users data, they requested for email and phone but in your mind, you will think they are doing that to reduce spam and make sure that those who have registered are valid users but it verified real emails and phone numbers are one of the few the most lucrative business on internet, they have people on dark web who are ready to buy this phone numbers and email base on locations on their IP address.
2466  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid omicron version 2.0 monkeypox coming and markets on: June 02, 2022, 09:01:45 PM
The monkeypox isn't as dangerous as Covid and it couldn't spread out easily so I don't think it could cause another lockdown. We're so done with the pandemic and it has a huge negative impact on lots of people emotionally and financially. Some people might see it as a good thing but it's hell for some of us, especially for poor people who have lost their jobs during the pandemic. The cryptocurrency situation didn't really go better during the pandemic so let's not hope for another lockdown to happen because it won't benefit us to be honest.

I have observed something about media, they love to talk about what scare people, they sometimes do this nonsense to trend and scared the masses, sometimes the riches who have other intentions do that too in other scared people.
When Covid-19 came, it was new, the vaccine wasn't available, the spread was massive (biological weapon they called it I think) and people panic which results everyone into selling their investment to get foods and home needs but looking Monkeypox, is a different thing with our current development, beside it is not new, the vaccines and medications is already here that can easily get rid of them it's just that it might have done damages in some places and Media are taking the advantage which is bad.
2467  Economy / Economics / Re: How DCA Could Have Prevented Your from Losing More on: June 02, 2022, 08:43:51 PM
I basically did DCA from very low amount until 2020 or so and that allowed me to drop the average from 2017. I had some from 15k+ range, and dropped that to 5k and then even increased it to 10-11k range as well by DCA but gained a lot more amount. This allowed me to be in profit even when it was 25-26k recently, and definitely a lot more in profit when it was 60k+ as well. I am not going to sell unless I absolutely need to.
Was your dollar cost average monthly buy or weekly? it turned out that when you DCA, you will end up with much in daily buy but if you have the opportunity to do that on monthly and buy more more especially when it dipped in price, you will found out that the monthly is more favorable.
I learnt that the bear market is always long, this is the perfect time to establish that buying habit but unfortunately, people fear this bear market like they do fear bed bugs, they don't know that this opportunity will never returned again, just like buyers who are waiting btc to come down to $10k.
2468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: June 02, 2022, 05:07:26 AM
I think Liverpool was over hyped in the championship finals game, as many football fans were already rooting for Liverpool win despite knowing how Liverpool performance have been through out the league. Real Madrid have held the trophy for a long and are better experience at the final than Liverpool.

Blame it on Sallah who said that they had a score to settle, he was having so much confidence in himself that they can do Real Madrid a quick win in the Champions League and the match was settled amicably without much fight, just that the Referee was overlooking some yellow cards.

Luck will not come repeatedly. Remember when they played against PSG, Chelsea and Man City. I think their patterns are almost similar. Did not have the ball and relied on counterattacks and effective finishing.
No one is lucky that Anceloti has thought about it all, the timing of the game being an addition to that success. I also don't agree madrid won because of luck. Their players have been mentally prepared and play more effectively.

None of their quarter, or semi-finals were lucky, they played under pressure and many didn't believe that they will win, especially when they played against Chelsea and Manchester City, it was a big surprise they won under the die minutes. When Manchester City won the Premier League, nobody call it luck because even Sallah thought they were winning until the last minutes.
2469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causing victim to scam his family on: June 02, 2022, 04:50:38 AM
Such person is really need a professional to take care of him, I'd say beggars are more better than gambling addicts because beggars didn't make anyone got harm from his action, they only need money to buy foods, if not they will eat from leftover foods. If gambling addict can't change his mind and become more realistic to manage his money and his action, he could be lunatic/insane person.

Begging is not a good choice either, some people don't just depend on it for food, there are places in the other parts of the world that carry begging as business, some have used begging to cash out to buy cars, you see how lucrative the business is right.
About a gambler being addicted person as insane is sometimes through, the way they do things makes me think their behaviours are not like that of a normal person, I mean who goes back to something after losing a lot of money and ignores all advice.

2470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 winner - Real Madrid! on: June 01, 2022, 09:46:19 PM
Liverpool performance at the first half of the game was very impressive but in the second half the game became very tough for the both team. They  tried their possible best to defeat Real madrid but all to no avail they were unable to score in the game, giving Real madrid the chance of scoring them a goal to nil which they were not able to equalise. After scoring their only goal Madrid played a very strong defensive game and was able to maintain it till the game was over leading them to lift the UCL trophy this season. Congratulation to almighty Real Madrid.

Since Real Madrid finished the Champions League, I was overjoyed to come say some nice words to my friends who were beating their chest for Liverpool, luckily Vinicius made us proud and Courtois made that possible for them.
The thing is that Liverpool played an excellent game, their midfield was super, in fact, the whole squad played what they are known for but did you see how Courtois was blocking everything that came towards him, he made Real Madrid's win possible, he blocks all the short on target(about 9 short) and Real Madrid had just one which gave them a goal. Didn't you listen to what Klopp said,  when the goalkeeper becomes the person that everyone enjoyed playing in the match then the opponent must have really suffered.
2471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The digital ID for Gambling on: June 01, 2022, 10:28:04 AM
I dislike anything that has to do with KYC and submission of documents to anyone. Your documents are always safe with you, you don't know how careless those companies will be that your information may become leak to third party, what is even the assurance that they wouldn't sell your documents to anyone including the government. It will be easier to identify people when they collect their data, I can't imagine my self been identified as a gambler when they want to address me, this is a red flag for those who play privately.
The forum has always discouraged the use of KYC and that's what I will recommend for everyone.
2472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Old Casino Keep Up Without Support Here In Bitcointalk Or Signature Campaign on: May 31, 2022, 12:02:14 AM
They can survive if they have enough money for extensive marketing, but they will bill them 5 times what they spend here, with no assurance that it will create actual gamers and profits. We have YouTubers that are amazing at reviewing gambling trends and convincing their viewers to test a new casino, especially if there is a referral bonus.
Bitcointalk is one of the largest forums for Bitcoiners and cryptocurrencies, there are large investors and holders here who may want to use some to get more, it is an opportunity for them to continue displaying themselves to investors and if they do not, other competitors will replace them and collect members patronizing them.
2473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Mantra After, while playing And Before You Gamble on: May 30, 2022, 11:43:18 PM
If I’m already losing, I always go to the restroom so I can wash my hands to clean away bad lucks, I don’t know but since then I do this, though I didn’t see any big result its just that, when you are losing you are already thinking for a way to lose that bad luck. Having this kind of Mantra is fine, this is very normal on a human nature.

This is one of the funniest I have read. What kind of casino games is that, maybe I should try my luck sometime to win something big.  Grin
I once had 9 games of matches all lineup, 7 were played and they all went as predicted but I was a bit afraid and sceptical that the remaining two matches may not go as I have planned. They all happen in the space of 2 days and the last two were to begin in some minutes, and then I began to tell God to let me win this one, that it is going to be the last gambling game I will stake and guess what, It went as predicted and now, it has become an Anthem for luck when I don't know the next move.
2474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How I can Create a private key from a text? on: May 30, 2022, 10:37:22 PM
Isn't that a brain wallet generator? They have poor entropy when you want to generate random numbers, it is a bad idea to use it to generate a private key.

For you to create a private key, you need some randomness to generate 256 bits of numbers (0-1) and with the help of elliptic curve multiplication, it generates your public key and then hashed to give you a short version public key hash and then encoded to address format.

You cant employ a Passphrase unless you are trying to create a seed/recovery phrase that you can combine with Mnemonic code, each passphrase generates you a unique seed and with a single seed, you can generate private keys as you want with branches of addresses.

From this, you created a Legacy address with WIF private key, I don't see the use of a passphrase that was required. The online generator is nonsense and a waste of time.

I hope the first codes is not the private key to the second address and if it is really, u should have private chat immediately to remove his coins there rather than posting. That must have a grievous mistake that  may not be redeemable

The wallet is empty and it is possible that the owner of that wallet generator will sweep the wallet as soon as the OP fund it.

We have 3 newbies with unusual names with threads on B&H board, they haven't done anything that violates the community but something seems off about them. I wanted to find out and ask why they use such lengthy and scattered letters but Marvelman discovered this:

How well do you manage financial management?
If you have Bitcoin assets which wallet do you think is safe so far?

Wait, did you choose that username or you just feel like using dumb letters  Shocked

His username loosely translated into English: "Make Love with Neighbors"

Probably related to this member: SilovatiLijepuSusjedu (translated: "Violate a Beautiful Neighbor", but much more vulgar)

I will report these members to the moderators, but I don't know if this is against the rules.

I also search the names on google and the auto-translate detected they are Croatian and Norwegian

SilovatiLijepuSusjedu ===>> In Croatian: Rape the Beautiful Neighbor.

VoditiIjubavSaSusjedima====>> In Croatian: Make love to your neighbors.

Saluttoutle Monde ====>> In Norwegian: Hi All The World.

These are the 3 usernames, the last one doesn't sound offensive but looks similar to the first two and all were registered on the same day, the same time frame. Which could also belong to one person.

VoditiIjubavSaSusjedima == Register on May 27, 2022, 05:52:51 PM
SilovatiLijepuSusjedu == Register on May 27, 2022, 05:55:04 PM
Saluttoutle Monde ==  Register on May 27, 2022, 06:19:27 PM

This is far from a coincidence.

2478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Duration of new block to confirm and include transactions on: May 29, 2022, 06:37:39 PM
I learnt that the time to create a new block in bitcoin takes an average time of 10 minutes but I don't understand what happened yesterday when I carried out a transaction.

I sent some BTC and my transaction was successfully included in block 738344 and it was confirmed on May 29, 2022, 12:31 AM UTC.
The previous block 738344 before my transaction was first confirmed on May 29, 2022, 12:30 AM UTC which was just 1 minute apart but the next block 738345 after my transaction was first confirmed on May 29, 2022, 12:53 AM UTC and the difference between that and mine was 22 minute, why is it like that?

If 6 blocks will take 1 hour with an average of 10 minutes for first confirmation, what will happen when this happens, is this an anomaly because other blocks are similar to this with time variation or there is no standard duration for new blocks.

A boring game so far, only 0-0.

Liverpool seems to be a stronger team but in the end, Real will win IMHO.

You called this boring? Seems you are Arsenal Fan  Tongue
Real Madrid is lacking midfielders, they aren't doing much in that place but I must confess, I underestimated Liverpool, they are doing massive attacks and massive defense and it so difficult for Real Madrid to penetrate in.
Vinicius. Jr is really doing well but they need to do something about Konate, that guy is so strong than him. Whoever is responsible for that anonymous decision  on that goal is heartless.  Undecided
2480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 28, 2022, 05:23:07 PM
I don't know about 2-1... Usually don't happen many goals in matches like that... However, the statistics of personal meetings between Real and Liverpool show that a lot of goals happened more often... I don't see this match as a clear favourite, but I like Real more... I think the southern style of football is more interesting, the more so because Madrid have taken a big break in the championship, it's time to show who's the real daddy! Wink

I am aware about that, the just one thing I love about football is surprise but we have seen situations where current plays doesn't goes as what has happened in the past like a player having red card in the beginning of the match, it could the defender the team depends on or perhaps  the striker having injury and that's when you see them playing defensive match instead of wanting to score, you can't avoid these things in matches, let's hope it doesn't happen.
I am so much dependent on Real Madrid but Liverpool wouldn't go down without a fight that's why I predicted 2-1 and 1 goal will surely comes from Benzema and Sallah.
