2461  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL announces 28nm 600GH/S blade for $4680 on: August 19, 2013, 03:28:34 AM
I think diff is going way up cause i read that avalon is breaking up and you will have them racing to reproduce more chips and having them mint funny money. And they live in a low cost area to do this plus they all have resources/connections. Race to the bottom.

Thats true. I can confirm that i read this on Chinese bitcoin group. Basically their Avalon team got some internal conflicts ( ditributing profits,... ) and they're now making their own chips to mine.

Dont expect any new gen 2. Its Yifu announced it, it would be 99% scam.
2462  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cointerra GoldStrike System Prices to be Released Soon! on: August 19, 2013, 03:26:16 AM
comeon - what's the point of a post like this - reminds me of Yifu and that guy leaves a sour taste in people's mouths

Well.... its because ppl thats willing to suck dicks.... cant blame anyone if they taste cums.

Yes, we are no longer using Gox.  Basically no one uses the Gox rate anymore, since it's impossible to get money out of Gox, except as BTC.  We are using Bitstamp as the rate now, as that seems to be in line with the rest of the exchanges, with the exception of Gox.

Were your problem with Gox ever been dealt with promptly? like any compensation or apology? I recall you had an issue with them regarding funding.

Btw, what is the fee of PPS on your pool?

Didnt pay attention and now your pool grows so fast.... wow.  Good job
2464  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: August 13, 2013, 01:59:58 AM
Come on people, either these guys have a very bad PR or this is a scam. If you think anyone not IBM, Intel or another big player can deliver one chip that can use up to 300W in power, you're delusional. And even them would never do such thing if not for experimental purposes (if even viable for that).

TDP of a 7970 is 250W+  ...  Just sayin'.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon_HD_7000_Series#Radeon_HD_7900

And that is a lot more than just a chip. The RAM and VRMs on these things take a good amount with it. You also should know there is a huge difference in both yields and cooling something that is <200W and one that pushes through 300W or more. Same reason why you see Intel having high-end chips at 130W+ but not much more than that.

You do know a Bitcoin ASIC (any ASIC) is going to have heat load off the chip too right? No ASIC runs as 12V so you are talking about so pretty "beefy" DC to DC converters.  Not sure why people assume xW at the wall would mean xW at the chip.

Because they're stupid and acting as armchair engineer on the interweb
2465  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER ASIC FPGA GPU overc monit fanspd RPC linux/win/osx/mip/r-pi 3.3.2 on: August 12, 2013, 03:14:56 AM
Guys, can you guys explain to me why CGminer use lots of CPU power while mining with BFL ASICs compared to BFGminer?

I'm using RPi as a host and the difference is absurd.

60GHs SC with BFG miner uses ~5% while CGminer uses 20%

Anyone please test to confirm this. I have tested with different rigs and setup. Same result.
2466  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~30,000Gh] Semi-private mining pool on: August 12, 2013, 03:09:30 AM
James, i emailed you but got no reply. Did you receive it?
2467  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: August 09, 2013, 03:20:35 AM
whoever read the policy and still decide to order deserve to lose money.

2468  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: August 09, 2013, 03:17:04 AM
Because they figured out where the least risky money was to be made :\ On dupes who can't see where the difficulty is going.

Cointerra appears to be too late to the party. If KNC ships, they're largely screwed. High efficiency is a luxury only if the device can achieve positive ROI in the first place, efficiency then extends its life against electrical costs. I don't think a device shipping in Jan '14 with these stats can achieve positive ROI unless it's less than $2k, and then that's hardly any profit for the manufacturer so why are they bothering.

Late, late, for a very important date.

If KnC ships, HashFast customers are screwed.
If HashFast ships, then Cointerra customers are screwed.

The only way they can make a profit is by going for extremely high volume.

If they charge $1000 for 500Gh/s anyone interested in mining will basically have no choice but to buy.  They sell 3,000 units, that's $3 million dollars, and 1.5Ph/s added to the network.

And if you think about it, there's probably no reason they can't charge prices like that.  An Intel celeron chip is fab'd at 22nm and only cost $50, for example.

God.... i have to reply to this idiot....

Comparing billion dollard revenue to few million dollards revenue...... what a genius.

There is a reason why Intel's cost is $50/chip idiot.
2469  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I melted my Avalon today and need your help on: August 08, 2013, 02:14:28 PM
Lol 1250W Cool people are really stupid, you can not use powerful PSU for lower unit/PC it'll burn your stuff  Tongue people never learn less is more (not in USA)

This forum now attracts dumbasses like you or what?

Dont open your mouth again..
2470  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Single power usage - anybody with numbers? on: August 08, 2013, 12:03:38 AM
Ok Morb is close, but Tacoman is WAY off. Here are my numbers from a kill-a-watt, on a standard 110V plug.

~240W for my Single, ~115W for my Little Single, and ~35W for my Jalapeno.
Oh sorry I was thinking what my Jally's power consumption was. It's about 5 Gh/s/w

stop posting because you make yourself stupid each time
2471  Other / Off-topic / Re: Thinking of paying 500 BTC for A BFL MINIRIG from Arvicco? on: August 07, 2013, 09:42:10 PM
Actually 500 BTC is a reasonable price for a 500 GH/s minirig!

Just a month ago people were selling 80 GH/s Avalons for 200+ BTC.

That was a similar markup.

Now, you can get an Avalon for about 80-90 BTC (see the numerous threads here).

An Avalon will do 82 GH/s (I know, I have one).

That is about 1 BTC per GH/s. That puts it in line with this 500GH/s for 500 BTC machine. Also don't forget that BFL ASICs are twice as power efficient as Avalons!

all I can do is shake my head...   1 BTC per GH/s is crazy.   Good luck to anyone willing to pay that.    I'm worried about my .15 BTC per GH/s turning a profit.

Please tell me more about your .15 btc per GHs investment.... or should i say baloney

2472  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Avalon batch 1 * 70 gh/s * Three available * US shipping on: August 07, 2013, 09:30:17 PM

LOL .... yes i know your answer
2473  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~25.5Th] Semi-private mining pool on: August 07, 2013, 03:06:15 PM
Giga, are you using BFGminer?

With job per chip protocol, its effectively making BFL SC into 16 miners with 3gh/s (grade C chip) to 4gh/s (grade A chip)

Does that mean making difficulty too high would affect this?

With job per board, then higher difficulty wouldnt affect anything.

Make sure you give this some thought.

Hi seriouscoin,

cgminer works in the exact same way but just doesn't give you the possibility of seeing the details. I run all of my minirigs at 500 diff and they work flawlessly.

Whether you have 1 chip that does 500Gh/s or you have 125 chips that do 4Gh/s, the results are the same. For the latter, each chip will just find a valid nonce less, but overall both should find the same number of shares per minute on average.

Best,
James

Hi James,

After some testing, i found CGminer use CPU power alot more than BFGminer. Have you noticed the same thing? I guess if your host is a recent  year PC it wouldnt be very noticable. Mine is a RPI. with 240GHs, CGminer takes 80% while BFGminer only takes 15%.

I dont know if thats contributing to the Job per chip protocol.... Any thoughts?

Btw, please PM me the pool access. I would love to join.
2474  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~25.5Th] Semi-private mining pool on: August 05, 2013, 11:57:55 AM
With the move of the entire network to ASIC based hardware, I would like to get some opinions on setting the minimum difficulty higher to further reduce shares submitted and to reduce data retention / maintenance.

The current average minimum difficulty for all workers is 108.4122. I would like to propose that once we hit a certain difficulty target (say 50m) that the minimum difficulty for all workers becomes 100.

I am open to hearing thoughts for or against this proposal. So what do you think?

2476  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM accusation: initforthemoney - selling AsicMiner Blades for a low price on: August 03, 2013, 04:07:26 AM
Well with a nick like initforthemoney what would you expect? You might as well send it to someone who claims to be a "pirate 200 years too late". Sorry for your loss OP.
His nick only raised a little question mark for me because a lot of people are in Bitcoins for the money.

including you?

Thats why all these weeds will die out as Bitcoin evolves.
2477  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM accusation: initforthemoney - selling AsicMiner Blades for a low price on: August 03, 2013, 04:04:01 AM
This was AFTER you already sent a stranger with only two weeks on bitcointalk $1500!  You gotta use escrow!
I know, and I have been using escrow before, so I should have known better.
I was still in vacation mode, not very handy when seeing a too good to be true offer.

what the hell is vacation mode and all that crap? what is it overthere?

Are you living on the same planet called earth?

You make it sound like taking vacation = IQ lowered by 100.
2478  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: FOR SALE: 110gh Miner - IN HAND For pickup or shipped in the US on: August 03, 2013, 03:35:56 AM
Don't come into my thread with complete bullshit claims..

Just because I didn't like your offer doesn't mean that you should insult people who want to mine right now.

It's a fact that you CAN NOT find a miner any where else at these speeds that can be delivered RIGHT NOW for the price I'm asking.

You sure seemed to be overwhelmed by people beating your door down for that fantastic deal.

Better deal than yours : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=261275.msg2797862#msg2797862

OP, just click ignore under his name. Check his sale thread, do a math and see how desperate this dumb ass is .

Unlike ASICs FPGAs have resale value.  Which is why I sold all of them in 2 days.  Meanwhile you dreamers keep pounding the drum hoping for someone who can't do math.

Ofcourse its sold out in 2 days.....  Roll Eyes I must have forgot ppl buy yours Cairsmore to play Runscape.

If you dont like the price, dont trash talk like a fcking kid. Grow up, I've been here long enough to recall you're being alot more mature back when you're ordering Cairnmores. What a shame. Welcome to my ignore, douchebag.

Where are the Canucks?

We are all wondering why you think we'd be stupid enough to pay $10k for something worth 5 at best.

Then keep mining with your Cairnsmore, LOL

Let me do the math for you retard :

This is your lame sale thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=261275.msg2797862#msg2797862

12 FPGA (~800MH/s each) at 1.8 BTC EACH = 21.6 BTC Total for 9.6GH/s ... lets be generous and gives that 10GH/s (help with your poor math skill)

60 GH/s = 21.6 BTC x 6 = 129.6 BTC  = roughly 13,000 USD ....

And you got a nerve to go around low balling and trash talk others ASIC sale thread.... Read your damn posts ....in every single AVALON sale thread,

What a fcking joke!
