Sad
https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-THC
https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-STV
This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on Friday, September 23rd 2016 unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.2 BTC. If you would like to keep the market listed, please encourage the development team to contact us at support@bittrex.com.

Staking works on THC? Whats interest? Smiley
So far POT & STV works just great ..

It seems that all weed coins on Bittrex besides POT and CANN have yellow banners. I talked with Bill from Bittrex and he says they need more trading volume as they are upgrading their site soon. He also said the yellow banners will be removed this coming friday. It seems like a fair warning for the community to start trading more or be delisted. A lot of these coins have been traded on Bittrex since early 2014. It would be sad to see them go. Please voice your support Smiley

time to whine!  else do some wash trades Wink

Serial alt coin developers, experimenting in public and transference of value

Serial alt coin developers

There are many parallels with this crypto game in other known microcosms such as the drug game we see portrayed in serial cop dramas such as The Wire.

In this game there are many unstated rules but what they come down to is ethics, doing the right thing and general respect for other peoples time and money.

We understand that many of the players in this game are in certain positions such as exchanges, developers and traders. Those in the role of an exchange could basically screw us at any time by stealing which would totally violate any assumed code.  For developers, there are many grey areas which are often times "accepted" but are not definitely a violation of the code.  This would include the concept of the "serial alt coin developer".

The serial alt coin developer is one which divides their time and efforts between avoiding the coins they have made and launched in the past, and ones that they are about to make.

This is something which never sat well with me. It has never been acceptable to me. Consider it my way of respecting the game and the respective players.

When I set out to make a coin and put my name to it, I did. And to this day I have never launched another coin and been solely focused on one.

Experimenting in public

There are ways to experiment in public.  Right now we are running a live Testnet for the next incarnation of Jumbucks. A key point is that this Testnet allows us to learn, rapidly test and experiment but in now way could it cause financial harm as there is no value added to the coins.

Experimenting by launching multiple coins is deeply disrespectful to those to put in money.  At the end of the day, an abandoned coin is lost money.  There can be hopes of a revival but the damage has been done.  A coin with no focused development is one which can only be one filled with empty promises and story telling.

Transference of value

This shouldn't be a common occurrence but we faced a brick wall in terms of development that the code base we were running on wasn't actively worked on by multiple people world wide.  Ultimately it is a stale codebase which had current issues but would never be updated.

If we were serial alt coin developers we would have launched a new experiment in public with no recourse or reflection that we were creating "just another coin".

What we will do instead is respect the money and value that people have put into the coin, and by transferring value to a new chain we aren't screwing people over.

So while there are cut and dry violations of the game such as the recent Bitfinex hack incident, developers will tend to always tread that fine line of being a scammer and on that one that is genuinely trying something which might work out.

In summary, I feel that respect for this crypto game comes down to some obvious plays for me.

Namely:

  • Not creating multiple alt coins which allows focus of developments to pass through to a common good
  • Not conducting nonsensical value based experiments in public and respecting other peoples money.
  • Transferring and retaining value on everything we do so that value can only grow and expand.

Bitcoin Stalls, Litecoin Rejected at 4 Dollars
September 13, 2016

https://blog.fxopen.com/bitcoin-stalls-litecoin-rejected-at-4-dollars/

i'd go further and state the BTC rally has been absolute in rejected.
high water was in the $700 range
this is reflected in LTC hitting a sell wall.

the market is jumping to XMR and others for the quick ups.

BTC faces a bear slide (perhaps for 3 years) in the direction of $250.
LTC is along for the ride south, but has potential to reverse direction.

baseline is around $15 Billion.  crypto.

no additional comment, the other possible up swings are 300 or more projects.

BW is doing his thing.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1567647.280

He brought me to the UNOverse thread, I guess, in May, some 2 years ago.  Glad he still has his 'I am the 1%' T-shirt, if he still holds that %, then this bus is still a great ride.  Anyone can get a ticket.

I saw some figures, only 17000 accounts hold +100btc.  UNO is very much still competitive and much less top heavy.  If you own 1 kg of the Un then it equates to holding $60k in BTC.  Let me repeat.  If you hold a $1.37 in UNO, it is like holding $61,100 in btc to match share title. *Less the inflation too

Blazr ... might I say it twice more.  The founder of mystery and mystic.  Such satoshi like is he.

Boring might be smart.  For the endurance performance.   The action is subtle.  Look at the classics, LTC and Doge.  Participate in the other long term projects, those with +2 years record of maintaining communities and crypto presents ... and you all will fair well.

The new new is still in the frame, Monero, Expanse, Decree, Classic, and data storage chains.

I am warming up to Steem, not as an investment, so much, but as a robust community of Libratarians full spectrum, also dead simple block chain blogging, immutable stuff, I would suggest creating some content of your own.

IMZ and Alpha Chick arrived at the table looking for marketing strategies for low-volume cryptos, we've done well, yet unnoticed, and still trying new angles on the D'lex.

Know thy private key.  Hold thy private key.

That's UNO.

which coin you think may get pumped after few days than? please connect dots for me.  Wink

if it's on poloniex and above ground it's gonna get pumped at some point. none of them are exactly credible markets any more, but then again none of them ever were in the first place.
2472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SMART Coin Observer on: September 14, 2016, 12:23:41 AM
horrid coin
but the concept visually, in terms of key pillars, works for any project

---
less crappy of a project (lesser of the premined)
START still has loud mouth Kiesier ... whenever he chooses to pump, then it will likely moon shot.
long shot, maybe, yet i still suggest there more reward than risk.
2473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto_2.0 / dump /{ data } on: September 14, 2016, 12:20:26 AM
Steemit launched a few months ago.  Steemit is something like "blockchain Medium/Reddit" where you can make money for posting and voting.  Before it launched, I read the paper and felt like it was way too top-heavy.  It's already seen a hype cycle come and go [its market cap went from months of $10-20m to $400m and is now back to $90m], but it actually has decent traction within the crypto community.  That's a small community, but it's also the low hanging fruit.  Other platforms won't necessarily find it as easy to pick up their first users.  The product is good about abstracting away the fact that it's built on a blockchain.

Akasha will be on Ethereum (the others have their own blockchains), but will require both an Ethereum and an IPFS node for users.  That puts a very low ceiling on Akasha's possible user base.  However, presumably it should get much of the Ethereum community.  It seems like they're trying to do "blockchain Facebook" but they're still at least a few months away from launching a product.

Synereo has the biggest tech vision.  They have some serious technologists on Synereo who are working on Casper.  Yet, they're launching their own social network as the first app to utilize their blockchain. The upside is that it seems to build in some of Steemit's "you get paid," which can be a good hook to get users.   Downside: the crowdsale is complicated.  It's also not clear that a product like a social media is the logical first product for a blockchain: social media tends to be binary (success or failure).

Decent has a crowdsale about to launch (has probably launched by the time you read this). I've read the Decent white paper and perused their site.  It took awhile for me to realize that this is decentralized iTunes. Maybe that speaks to me, maybe it speaks to poor marketing on their part.  They also botched their first crowdsale attempt - not a good sign.  In general, decentralized iTunes seems hard to me.  Apple could build a two-sided marketplace because it had the users/buyers from the iPod.  They also had the ability to cut deals with content providers (record labels). Decent has neither.

Overall: thinking about these projects has made me feel like their commercial viability is not close. That fits my investing thesis.  However, Steemit's relative success despite being so top-heavy might point to the fact that a good "hook" to get users onto the site can get the network effects necessary to make one of these projects take off.

thought of the day:

UNO is under the radar.  Yet has one of the most complex and robust markets, it has and continues to trade against a multitude of not bitcoin coins.  Hovering above UNO are dozens (like +5 dozen) of hotair balloons.   Hot pumped with air, hoping they land on the moon.  Gravity always wins.  But it also takes a longtime to establish the solid floor.  UNO maybe boring, but in terms of market capital it appears all the hot air was let out long ago, what is left is actual capital.  UNO is also working capital, you can use it to trade it up against the various other projects.  Think of it this way, you are lending UNO to projects that have demonstrated well thus far (shy away from the vaporware (but most of those cons don't trade direct Wink )).  And once you achieve gains trade back to UNO ... direct.

re: mining contracts

1.  look here https://btc.com/

2.  You will see sha256 is very concentrated.

3.  Genesis is likely odd man out, and hence screwing over their clients.

4.  The odd feature; if Genesis allows, specifically still is allows for dedicated mining of the MM coins pools (UNO, SYS, NAME) ... okay ... but I personally do not know.

5.  If  Genesis  fails on that level, there is little chance of them finding a niche in the BTC ecosystem ... next step is mining on retired hardware.

6.  i agree, if genesis can't handle, then next door to the Peoples republic of NK is China, again back to pools that have2nd gen tech.
Kim .. if he is smart will buy out the tech.

Re:
ETH "made gains" ? it's at $11.71 now and was over $20 for ages.
What kind of drugs are you on ?

And since you said that and slid in Monero i have to question that also.

Ethereum sickens me.
It needs to die.. the scam coin ICO DAPPS bullshit needs to go.

tune them lower ...

R13 or whatever the banker Blyth Masterbates group is won't let it slide (im guessin) below $9
because they own it ... and can pay the fees to fake volume trade.

ETC stands a chance since it hovers just above the ICO cost of entry and must become a real decentralized project.

outside ETH, ETC, XCP, omni, bts, nxt ... there is little room left at the real profit table for smart contract / asset platforms.

so those are the assets primed for Banker orgie.

if you want to help aid common man projects ... still murky ... maybe EXP?  DCR looks truthful.
