2461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP future looks shaky and uncertain on: December 17, 2022, 12:23:48 PM

Many users use XRP to withdraw from exchanges and cash out to fiat for its minimum withdrawal fee and transaction fee. Even with just this use case to token still is on top of the market making its cap and daily volume to be bigger than the reputable tokens we know.

XRP hasn't died despite its attack before 2017. Before 2017, its price was way below $0.05. With this kind of profit, Ripple can actually pay big time if it's just what SEC wants. Unfortunately, SEC wants more than that and the rest of the altcoins will have an uncertain future also once XRP fails.
2462  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance lots of FUD on: December 17, 2022, 11:42:29 AM
FUD or not, this is what we actually want, no? The withdrawals from Binance is nothing but another celebration of the Proof-of-Keys Day every year, during January 3, without that day being during January 3. Cool

It's probably not what everyone wants, and it's probably a cause for panic for some, but with that, it's also a test if the exchanges' "100% user deposit reserves" claims are true or not.

I agree,as long as people withdraw their majority of the coins from the exchanges is a win situation for them and leave only the amount needed for trading, you cannot use Binance no matter how trustworthy they maybe to conserve your coins,Binance still remains a third party and over a third party we have absolutely no control whatsoever.

The only people panicking are the ones who do not take the time to learn how to keep their cryptocurrencies 100% safe in wallets where they have the private keys or in hardware wallets and sooner rather than later they learn this the hard way.

The people who withdraw though are going to lose the chance to invest in coins that are bottoming. When Binance proves they are solvent and not doing something just like FTX, Binance will arise victoriously.  It seems like they are pressing CZ way beyond what they ask of SBF and making it look like it's CZ's fault for FTX bankrupt.

SBF said to Oleary that he paid about 3B to CZ two years ago which is the reason for their insolvency. Saying this means FTX was already insolvent for 2 years. Clearly, they have the intention to scam investors. But Oleary instead uses this to pin Binance.

The timing is so perfect. I think this is a perfect plot for spy movies once again as to whether Chinese or Russians are going to be interested to find the truth about this. They could be a good trade with hypersonic missile technology, and a nice movie plot.

It can only be good if it's shared with every country if it's just for the US then nothing stops OPEC countries from using fossil fuels.
2464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People are going to realize the same thing about BNB and it makes me sick. on: December 16, 2022, 02:49:12 PM

Withdrawals are not loss. It's the assets of the users. It doesn't belong to Binance in the first place.

CZ had an interview on CNBC, and it seems like he’s being evasive asf despite bragging about his warchest on Twitter for years.

https://youtu.be/uwsJm3qgp9I

Says he doesn’t owe anyone money.

Says users can withdraw assets whenever they want.

Says crypto auditors of the “big 4” don’t even know how to audit crypto institutions.

Says it’s good to stress test withdrawals of his exchange.
____________________________________________________

This is after ~8bil usd has been taken out of his exchange so far.

What do you guys think the direction of Binance is?

The same year to year nothingburger fud? Same like Tether?

If Binance is not fine, CZ would scramble in answering questions like SBF.

I can understand many will hate CZ after he dumped his FTT causing the exchange to dwindle. I do think CZ intended to really see if FTX can survive if he sells his FTT stash at market price. But he did it because some bulk of FTT was also deposited to binance which CZ thinks are meant to be dumped as well. If CZ didn't tweet to sell, It would be binance that will be suffering a huge loss.
2465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: turned gambler after investing in BTC or investor turned gambler? on: December 16, 2022, 06:03:33 AM
The higher possibility is investors mostly turns out to be addicted gamblers for reason. The gambling addiction kicks in after trying many lucrative promos on various casinos due to the large advertisement. Only a few lucky percentage of gamblers goes to investing permanently, IMHO. This is what I have seen in last 10 years.
Investing and gambling are not the same thing, it is just like comparing people that have money but gambling with it too. Someone can be investing on a project or a coin that can latter become profitable, that is investment. But anyone can become a gambler and if not properly avoiding using high amount of money it can be on a loss side for him. I think we should talk about gambling differently and investing differently too because they have no connection. We should just remain saying that gamblers should use what they can afford to lose is the proper thing to say for not to use money that they intended to use for another thing on gambling.

Some of us look at these differently though. There were times that I think I have gambled my money into investing a new token and the risk is still there. So far there are 14 who voted that they started investing and began gambling, it seems expected to have higher counts also.

5 voters are gamblers who become investors. Which of them follow the advice that says only invest money you can afford to lose would be for another poll.
2466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On Hal Finney storing his keys in a safe deposit box on: December 16, 2022, 05:31:23 AM

He could just be storing a few BTC there in the safe box like 10% only of his BTC holdings and everything else is on his paper wallet with keys written on it. Hal is a father, it is very likely that he already handed 90% of his coins to his kids, telling them to not trust anybody before he even said goodbye.  None of the coins from Satoshi's assumed wallet were moved, there is a conclusion to come up with that.
2467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Listen me and double your money 17 december (ufc bet) on: December 15, 2022, 04:17:37 AM
Where did you document your bets? Try doing it on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5139347.0 just like YuginKadoya is doing on the thread. I think he has more wins upon seeing his predictions. That thread is somewhat like an official thread for UFC bets and discussions about fights.

Strickland vs Jared has very little difference in the odds which is worrying. Bettors might just be divided
2468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SBF, arrested! on: December 15, 2022, 02:37:41 AM
Here's what we're waiting for, after what he's done. I guess everyone who's been a victim of FTX fall is now getting some justice.

FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried was arrested by Bahamian authorities this evening after the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York shared a sealed indictment with the Bahamian government, setting the stage for extradition and U.S. trial for the onetime crypto billionaire at the heart of the crypto exchange’s collapse.

News: FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried arrested in the Bahamas after U.S. files criminal charges
That's very surprising and also good news that because the people who are fraud and also SBF made whole Market crash. He got so much money from investors and also than just Scammed with them. Now he is arrested and it is a lesson for those who cheat at a big level. And that's why these types of people should be punished. I think that if this man was in another country rather than IS, Than he might not have be caught.

Either he gets away from this because he had people paid from government position or he still gets punished only with a slap on the wrist. Twitter is a warzone with this news.  Grin

But there were also people like the activist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) asking about the timing of the SBF arrest. If something could happen, since a conspiracy theorist already sees SBF as the fall guy, SBF could just die unexpectedly. And then there's Kevin blaming Binance the cause of the FTX collapse is on the way also. CZ intentionally put FTX out of business  Grin
2469  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitstamp is now sending users emails to keep funds in their exchange? on: December 15, 2022, 02:17:46 AM
The headline on some news sites was about Binance 50B withdrawals and people were laughing about it, but CZ just replied it was nothing compared to how much had been withdrawn during FTX collapse.

They were all only seeing Binance to be affected but pretty much all other exchanges experience the same as Bitstamp.
Bitstamp will not convince a lot of people just as they are not coming back to Binance as well. People already realize they can trade anyway even if the coins they have are on wallets capable of accessing swap platforms.
2470  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What do you think about trust wallet? on: December 15, 2022, 01:50:57 AM

What they are saying is that Trust wallet is not opensource wallet which could mean Binance may have altered something to the codes that are not known to users. Who knows maybe they put some backdoors to it.

Decentralization is not an issue for wallets however, if Trust wallet is one you use to access a platform then don't entrust all your coins. Maybe just enough.

Hard to get casino tokens listed on exchanges. There was a memorandum back in 2020 about it blockchain base games in which regulators need to add new rules because of the new technology underlying it. I was fairly watching one casino token where I have invested before which is the $HASH and a DEX had delisted them due to legal issues.
2472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tipping during live slot, or casino games. on: December 14, 2022, 04:23:42 PM

The rich probably have that tipping tradition. It's good to tip though not really required. In some hotels where the bellboy carries luggage is worth tipping just like the slot machine attendant.

If it helps I think will people will consider tipping just as much as we would like to donate to the homeless on the streets at least the tip have some use to them.  But to whom will the tips go if the online casino has a tipping option?
2473  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could this be the bottom of Bitcoin? on: December 14, 2022, 12:34:21 PM
We have been obsessed with foreseeing where the price will go for our investment to grow for which we will always ask bottom and ATH. Different users and the question have been asked countless times and although there are predictions with charts promising it can not go back to $16k back when the price hit $21k, the prediction failed.

No one could possibly go unless it already happened. The only chance to make sure it can possibly skyrocket again is when the halving is close to its date.
2474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Mercito Gesta (January) on: December 14, 2022, 02:32:00 AM

I see so it's like a simulation for Garcia and can prepare for Tank's strategy.  He should just get someone to simulate Tank or Gesta as a sparring partner if this is how he'd come up with a plan. It could be compromised if Gesta acts differently in the ring. Garcia would really be a laughing stock if he is beaten by this unknown fighter that seems to have a good record in his early days.
2475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The reason Dogecoin could fail in the future on: December 14, 2022, 02:17:02 AM
Doge is widely used though. It may just be monopolized by Elon. Who knows how much this man got but pretty sure this coin is not going to fail as it could still be considered decentralized and not a security. It's been a top coin since the time Elon shills for it and more whales are also holding on to it. It would have failed back when its price was just less than a cent and only a few people are in the crypto market but Doge only growing every cycle.
2476  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Canada bans crypto leverage and margin trading after FTX collapse on: December 14, 2022, 01:23:29 AM
Everything that authorities does nowadays is relating it to FTX collapse. But this is somehow good for it only make investors accumulate BTC and not pull down the price by manipulators who just want to liquidate the traders who go long. I think this will make BTC prices go up while regulation is coming.  Isn't binance.US registered in Canada?
2477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: turned gambler after investing in BTC or investor turned gambler? on: December 13, 2022, 02:16:49 PM
First of all, check the poll you entered, it's almost the same option just a twisted sentence.

MotherofFvckit! I messed-up. Okay, I just edited it lol so my mind is just not arranged this time. I also reset the poll. Sorry for those who had voted, hope to see you vote again.

So far: there were 4 who voted investor then turned a gambler.
It's now fixed, maybe the other option will then be voted also. We can't all be investors and then started gambling after it or we're all surrounded by BI.  Grin
2478  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of BITYX . COM Exchange Total scam lost 5100 $ in USDT & Bitcoin on: December 13, 2022, 03:38:48 AM
They recently advertise here in this Get $100 for Trading thread.

Such sketchy. But maybe you got excited too much also because the first and 2nd time around you profited lol and you want more. Normally new exchanges are not vouched for by users until they have tried them to confirm they are legit. You on the other hand tried your luck.  Sorry for your loss.
2479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SBF, arrested! on: December 13, 2022, 03:11:44 AM
Quote
Bankman-Fried could face life in prison without the possibility of supervised release. Such a severe punishment would be unusual but not extraordinary. Ponzi scheme mastermind Bernie Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in prison, an effective life sentence, for his massive ponzi scheme.

SBF serving life is indeed extreme, his carelessness must have brought people to do weird things like committing suicide. Earlier, I thought the Bahamas Government wouldn't arrest him, but SBF moving around attending interviews with mainstream media was so awkward regarding the allegations on him. However, the Bahamas government delayed his arrest until US filed a crime against SBF. He should have been arrested immediately FTX collapsed, and extraditing him to US will harden the young billionaires case and time in prison. Do you think the Bahamas Government had their reasons for delaying his arrest? Because from the link OP provided SBF's lawyer accused the Bahamas authorities of working closely with SBF in shoving peoples money out of FTX to a private wallet owned by the Bahamas authorities.

When the Enron scam erupted, the next day the perpetrators are handcuffed.  But with FTX, it took a month, and was just arrested for trial.

I have some doubts that he is actually going to jail for this. He had paid politicians and his parents are with the people in the government. You can say, he is backed by a big crime family who had put DOJ inside thier pockets.

What made a game fun to play is when players have a chance of winning which is a current pain point besides KYC. This game can be an FPS or a strategy game or a car race where they put coins for the pot which is what I would like to see also. It doesn't need to have NFTs.

Twitter can be fun to read but lacks in-depth discussions compare to the YouTubers who constantly provide details although you would need to watch more of them to verify what one is saying.
