Hodling for me is definitely worth it my initial investment has gone 1000 times and profited way more just by hodling. Bitcoin is really a safe haven even if the price went down it will recover. So i dont have to worry in panic selling unlike other altcoins that once it dumps it's all over.

We can not really have the right answer from a technical analysis viewpoint cause each trader has his own strategy and each bought in different prices. The only way to determine an uptrend is how much percentage the price went back since it's last downtrend. From this year it went down 6k an all time low price and went back to 9k price. I guess btc still needs to reach a higher price to determine if it's an bullish run.

The price always crashes after a big uptrend when it enters a new year mostly the price fluctuate's in the 1st quarter but eventually recovers and have another bullish run in the mid year. There is a pattern that has been explained about this in this forum. I think this is how the whales makes money.

More people started buying it and i mean people with lots of money. It's just a simple supply and demand concept. People believe that btc is the road to success which was true and made many people millionaires and become popular then the buying trend begin which also started a bullish run that made the price what is it now.

Governments see's bitcoin as a threat cause it's a decentralized currency with an security that is pseudo anonymous in each transaction. So they'll never know who sends who, for the government this is bad cause they can't monitor or tax it's user. And if their people chooses to use btc over they're own fiat the countries economy will surely fail.

Bitcoin price will fall in the start of 2018 it will continue till April and starts to rise again in the second quarter. Today the price 8730 usd and still pumping there are few price corrections but i think the bullish trend is coming after US government stops taxation of crypto exchanges. So buy the dips while you still can.
