24641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: June 15, 2017, 01:05:49 PM
Ok something is obviously wrong with SMOS after 1098 update, my cards hangs randomly, they drop to 0MH/s and then rig restarts. This never happend to me before, Tyt can you please take a look at this issue? from what I can see I am not the only one struggling with SMOS stability issues after patch 1098. Thanks.

In my case, I have a theory ... I have 2 diferents memory values in my rig for diferent cards. What I believe is hapening, its if the system is rebooted for any cause, the gpu order is mixed, and the wrong memory clock are applied. That causes fails on different VGAs ... For final test, I get all the cards for the lower memory clock and now I'm waiting to see whats going to hapen.

Any sugestion?

It's working for 15hrs, I'm losing 4mhs with this configs, but at least it's running without problems.

note I posted  lower settings for eth above  they may help stability

Need sone help getting my rig up and running, issues with internet really.

I had Windows Server 2012 R2 on an ssd for a htpc build and it worked fine, so I literally just plugged it i to my new mining rig and hardlined the ethernet, nothing detected. Went to the Asus driver on another pc, thumb drived them over, wouldnt install said no intel adapter detected..

Going to just reinstall windows at rhis point.. cant find my windows 7 disc atm.. so here are my options

Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro with Update
https://imagine.microsoft.com/en-us/Catalog/Product/82

or

Windows Server 2016
https://imagine.microsoft.com/en-us/Catalog/Product/524

I am running the following
ASUS z270 AR
i3 6100
(2) ASUS 1080ti FE

Only other thing I can think of is sucking it up and buying a Win 10 key.. but I think I will find my win 7 when I can clean out the pod in my front yard in 2 weeks.

Any help is appreciated

Pm a mailing address if in the USA I can mail a win 7 disc.

Buy a key from ebay

Sure.

I can not get 3 cards or 4 cards to work.
The power setting of 95 only works on 1 of 3 different cards tried.

Setup

i5 6400t cpu
1 stick of 2400 ddr4 ram 8gb
a 750 watt seasonic titanium psu
a 16gb lexar 3.0 stick

Happy to report  the gigabyte 1070 itx build ran stable overnight.

the bat is here:

-epool stratum+tcp://us1.ethpool.org:3333 -ewal 0x3ef297e47404a771139472b93621f82c8a832857.Simple2 -epsw x -mport -3333 -esm 0 -allpools 1 -dbg -1 -wd 1 -r 1 -ethi 7

I set  power in the core to 95  and watts for a 2 card rig  are about 230  giving me 50.3 mh

24646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Laptop mining - not another useless thread on: June 15, 2017, 11:56:12 AM
Hi,
I'm having a free electricity + laptop which can be replaced if it get's burned for free.
My  question is is it still profitable to mine with it using given above circumstances ?
IT's Intel i5 laptop , without gpu, so only cpu mining is relevant.

On my home pc I'm getting ~200 H/s with i7 CPU
On laptop it gets to ~50 H/s with i5 CPU (Tried FCN and XMR mining).

Let me know in comments below if mining in this scenario still unprofitable.
 Smiley

so  with xmr  it gives you around 10 pennies a day?

so will you mine and hold?
24647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 15, 2017, 11:36:13 AM
dang i didnt get that email for the 10% or i would take up on that purchase, my 2 @ 8% were cancelled the other day, because i ordered some on ebay and on newegg.com and because they were coming from the same company they cancelled my order on ebay out.. which kinda sucked..

nice price but btc is dropping a lot

Do you think the bubble finally popped?

No as I think BTC  should be 1900-2300   not 2700-3000.

I did pick up .33 btc yesterday via purchase.

Phil / others

Thoughts on the gigabyte mini you ran/run?

I have a few of the GTX 1070 gigabyte "ITX" cards - work reliably, don't clock as high as full-sized cards, but very helpful on heat management in 3-card non-riser rigs, and have had ZERO issues with them on a reliability basis.

2x blower style rigs with 1x gigabyte itx or msi aero itx are great.

trouble free   650+650+400 = 1700sols at  550-575 watts

I am running them here

Having trouble finding mini's at a decent price anymore . . wish I bought the zotac 1070 when they were on sale for $350 a week or 2 ago T_T

Also total side note, does my trust show up as 1 , 2, or 0 and how exactly does trust work because it seems most ratings don't go into the category that actually counts for your profile . . .

You are new and the deals done by you are good so far.
I have a good well really good record.

So if I put you on my trust list you would get good numbers .

On my end I can't give trust out easy multiple deals knowing where the person lives is something I try to do before I place a trust listing .  Which is the higher rating.

Rather then a trust for a deal.
And I still need to review listings since they are very long in my case.

so I will run 2 gigabyte 1070  itx cards on eth

hoping to get more support in a few days

ewbf_ 3.4

 would be nice

better clocks

would be nice

I can only do 2 cards  on a mobo that did 4 amd cards

so being able to do 4 cards would be nice.

okay lots of testing of beta nvidia build.

I can get 95 watts on gigabyte 1070 itx cards

pretty good compared  to 150 stock.

the clocking does not work for my msi 1070 itx cards

Pretty sad that no answers on the issue with cards dropping to 0 mh/s from Tytanick.

okay  show a screen shot of your rigs

with your clocks

How would I be able to do this with one program running.

you can not do it.

you need to run 2 instances of the same program

or  just make 2 start files

one named  for yourself

one named your for brother

and switch one day all you

one day all him

hi, does gtx 1070 gaming need modification on bios for mining please?

no

most of us   set msi afterburner 4.3 for the clocks  it is a free download and easy to do

Phil , could you sum up about prices :
what are the best prices you ever paid for new 1070 , 1080 and 1080TI ?

Thanks a lot

The best I've found...

1070 - $319
1080 - $419
1080ti - $639

Depending on where you live you'll have sales tax on those as well.

Due to demand it's pretty much impossible to hit those prices right now though Sad

I purchased a 1080ti today for 570 new with full warranty.

all time best price ever Grin

I will show how.. I am just about capped on my account I am at 470 bucks earned for this cycle  max is 30.
but if you don't have a lot of ebucks for the cycle   you will get 70 off this card

24657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: June 14, 2017, 09:28:01 PM
smOS is changing some of my card's core clock speeds without any input.

The snapshot below is a of a rig running 7 RX 570s, all with stock bios, and no OC settings applied (ever) via the Dashboard.

As you can see, two of them have switched from the default 1128 to 1191.

This seemingly happens at random to different GPUs across all of my rigs.

The change to 1191 is not random, however. A couple of my rigs currently have some GPUs with a custom bios which has a default core clock of 1191. The rig in the photo has not ever had anything but cards with the stock bios connected. I have also manually input 1191 as the core clock on other rigs of mine, but I have never applied an OC to the rig in the picture.

Changing the core clock settings in smOS does not seem to have any effect. It will change the clock upon startup, but it may change again before mining even starts, without any notice in the terminal.

edit: 1128 is not even the stock clock according to MSI spec sheet, it is actually 1268. So why is smOS automatically downclocking my cards???

it is using linux drivers not windows  which may vary a bit
24658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How do you pick a motherboard & PSU for a new mining rig? on: June 14, 2017, 07:58:53 PM
 3-4 card rigs are better

this will do 3 on the board and allow for 2 with risers later

http://www.ebay.com/itm/292000161707?

use 2 of these

http://www.provantage.com/evga-08g-p4-5170-kr~7EVGA13R.htm

with one of these

http://www.provantage.com/msi-gtx1060aeroitx3goc~7MST92HR.htm

if you don't want to go the 1080ti with 1070 route

until you go real big  like  60 cards or so.

 2 1080 ti's and 1x 1070

I will try this tonight, had to get nvidia cards while I wait on my AMD order, windows has not been very stable for mining. Does it support mixing amd and nvidia cards because that is my eventual goal.

I have a  amd 290  I will put in on and find out
does not work with a 1070 and a r 290 on the same mobo
