2481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World Economic Forum says 1 BTC will be $300,000 by 2027? on: June 17, 2016, 11:09:04 AM
300.000$/Bitcoin is really too much. Hope naturally that this price will be reached within that year, but I don't think so, because market cap required is too huge. If this will happen, we will be able to consider the bitcoin as new gold, a digital gold Smiley

Its perfectly possible. If you consider that Bitcoin can potentially reach trillions of dollars for a marketcap, you can predict that the price can reach 3 figures in a decade.
2482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: To everyone converting BTC to ETH on: June 17, 2016, 11:00:06 AM
Ethereum is unlikely to survive in the long term. Establishing a separate currency for complex derivative contracts was a misguided idea. Rootstock will do the same what Ethereum can do, but instead of intrucing an additional token it will do so by using the Bitcoin blockchain.

Bitcoin is the reference currency for all altcoins. It has by far the biggest user base, the greatest market acceptance and the best developer community behind it. That is hard to beat by any altcoin. In the end, Bitcoin will assimilate useful features that were introduced and tested by various altcoins, making them obsolete.

ya.ya.yo!
Indeed, and since Rootstock will be a sidechain, if it fucks up somehow, BTC will not be affected, or not as much as ETH is being affected right now by this. The fact that Vitalik has told exchanges to stop all tradings should raise serious alarms to all traders.
Btw, it seems Poloniex has ignored Vitalik, ETH and DAO pairs still working lol
2483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: To everyone converting BTC to ETH on: June 17, 2016, 10:53:34 AM
Read a little about history of NXT, while jumping ship to ETH as a store of value. Compare the following two graphs...

a. http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/#charts

b. http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/nxt/#charts

Compare the following facts...

i. NXT was backed by a centralized organization, just like ETH.

ii. NXT was PoS, just like ETH will ultimately be.

iii. NXT offered asset exchange, while ETH offers smart contract. Both of these functionality, which they claim to make them unique, are actually possible on bitcoin blockchain, which is far more secure.

iv. With price rise, NXT backers sold their holding to increase liquidity in the market. With price rise, ETH backers are increasing ETH supply in the market to increase liquidity in the market.

p.s. Alt coin trading is a gambling. If u wanna test your luck on some coin under pump, its fine. But, make sure to come back to BTC, when u have made enough, otherwise u'll lose all and have to be a mute spectator while the next alt wave hits. GooD Luck Wink

Good thread OP. It's good to remember that if this mistake happened on ETH without PoW (in PoS mode as they intend to go in the future) it would have been an absolute disaster. It already is, but way worse. Imagine that a guy gets millions of hacked ETH and now has a big say on the network due PoS. This is PoS is piece of shit and not proof of stake.
BTC is still king, stop dreaming with a BTC 2.0.
2484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Copa america 2016 dicussion on: June 16, 2016, 12:16:45 PM
I would be cautious when trying to bet against Ecuador. If they have a good match, they can score a lot of goals, they know how to play offensively. Enner Valencia is a great striker and can destabilize a team if he gets good support from midfields.
2485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Euro 2016 on: June 16, 2016, 11:59:29 AM
I was expecting the performance of Cristiano Ronaldo being like that, I even expected portugal to lose against iceland... Cristiano Ronaldo while still playing good, has a hard time trying to score goals in the national team. I hope that they can still win the next match, but they will need to do something make Ronaldo score goals. Without the supports of Benzema and Bale it's way harder.
2486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Everyone looses in the long run on: June 16, 2016, 11:22:38 AM
The greatest demise of every gambler ever is not knowing when to stop, you must learn to say "enough", or you will become an insane man that just doesn't stop gambling and always tries to take revenge on luck, which is absurd and can only lead you to massive losses.
Absolutely, gamblers with the aim to earn more money in gambling would most likely has that kind of attitude towards gambling, as a human we are greedy because we want to experience a comfortable life and we know for a fact that only few are living rich in this world and as an average person we like to experience the life of the rich which has a financial freedom, sadly our way of achieving money is wrong because we want it instant and we find gambling that gives us the opportunity to make that happen.

Humans want big, quick results in little time, because we value time over money, so it's understandable, but not realistic.
This is why you must believe in a project, in this case Bitcoin, and hold long term. Because of this very premise that most humans are impatient, it means the few that hold long term will make it and become rich, and the ones that keep wasting their BTC for fiat will be the ones that cry in the end.
2487  Economy / Economics / Re: Capital controls in China. No effect on Bitcoin? on: June 16, 2016, 11:14:15 AM
Bitcoin doesn't care about Capital controls, it just works, that's why millions and millions are being moved as we speak out of china, you can see it in fiatleak.com, the amount of BTC being bought from china increases every day for years now.
2488  Economy / Speculation / FUDsters getting destroyed as we speak: The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin continues on: June 16, 2016, 11:05:50 AM
As expected, after the correction happened, smart people just bought more BTC, idiots sold for their useless fiat currencies, and are now out of the winning train, or might I say, rocket.

We are going to $1,000+ soon, bears will get burned, so will those that sell during corrections trying to play the market. Stay safe and don't forget to HODL.
2489  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: June 16, 2016, 10:58:10 AM
You have to aim for 21 BTC and hold then losing term, it's as easy as that. Ok not that easy to get 21 BTC, but still not mission impossible, with hard work and dedication it can be done, unless the price keeps rising this fast, then it will be impossible for anyone that is not upper class.
2490  Economy / Economics / Re: What Country Has Most Of The Bitcoins? on: June 16, 2016, 10:55:13 AM
If I was the president of a country, I would start buying Bitcoin instead of buying debt. I would default, I don't care about defaulting in a dead currency like every fiat on the planet, so I would just become a Bitcoin mogul.

2492  Economy / Gambling / Re: Should PrimeDice start to allow gambling with other cryptocurrencies? on: June 15, 2016, 12:01:41 PM
I don't think you guys understand the mental stress of having to deal with multiple currencies. Currencies that a lot of time are scams and end up making users bankrupt, currencies with software that is faulty and sometimes even has malware on it, currencies that end up dead and the blockchain wouldn't sync.. this translates into angry customers.

It's better to accept the big currency only and save yourself problems.
2493  Economy / Speculation / Re: Deal with your problems by becoming rich with r0ach of Bitcoin on: June 15, 2016, 11:53:11 AM
Hey r0ach, you fucking shill, how high is this rally taking us? You think we will pass ATH this year??

A lot of people is about to become very, very rich.

I better be one of them... I'm tired of not being rich. 60 bitcoin won't get me rich  anytime soon though

Well, 60 is not enough to become rich soon, but in 10 years anyone holding 60 BTC will be rich. Hell anyone holding 21 BTC will be rich.

But the thing is, most people will have sold by then, and fewer and fewer people will own whole BTCs, so chances are you will not make it due selling too soon.
2494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin , Credit Card, Paypal ?? Best way on buying online?? on: June 15, 2016, 11:44:29 AM
I would say Bitcoin, after purse.io was created, you can find lots and lots of great deals not available in any other way, so there is an incentive to use Bitcoin on that shop. This is what all shops should do, make discounts so people use Bitcoin, otherwise they will not find and incentive and not bother with it.
2495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is too slow on: June 15, 2016, 11:36:24 AM
Transaction is instantaneous, confirmation takes more time.

Confirmation for credit card transactions take up to 180 days, yet, I don't see you complaining about it and im sure you use credit cards a lot. So learn what transaction, confirmation, node decentralization etc means before crying about small blocks.
2496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins must be the new currency. on: June 15, 2016, 11:34:43 AM
Yes its the new currency, all other currencies are shit and are performing really fucked compared to it, Bitcoin was the best performing currency for the last 6 years, and seems like this year its going to be the best again.
2497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0 confirmations after several days - BTC gone? on: June 15, 2016, 11:18:26 AM
Bitcoin will never magically disappear, it's impossible to lose your money, your money never goes into some sort of limbo where it's stuck for life, it may just take a long time if the fee is shit, this is why RBF is not a bad idea.
2498  Economy / Speculation / Re: Deal with your problems by becoming rich with r0ach of Bitcoin on: June 14, 2016, 06:27:27 PM
A lot of people is about to become very, very rich. Whales are buying every dip that happens on the way up. This 725 to 650 ish dip is just another time for the whales to keep buying more Bitcoin. It will keep happening as we go up. Rises with corrections all the time while smart hands keep stacking more and more BTC.
2499  Economy / Gambling / Re: Should PrimeDice start to allow gambling with other cryptocurrencies? on: June 14, 2016, 06:06:53 PM
I don't think it would be a good idea. They are the leading Bitcoin gambling site, so they don't want to break this brand and just become a crypto gambling site. Bitcoin is king of crypto and if you are the best already in the business, you don't want to deal with the problem of multiple tokens.
2500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Euro 2016 on: June 14, 2016, 06:03:51 PM
I won some BTC today thanks to spain, I bet for a win. I suffered tho, I thought it was going to be easy money, I expect at least a relaxed 2-0 match, but it was very tense until the end. I think I will give portugal a win for tomorrow, we'll see.

You must have felt that you would be losing the bet because it was quite a late goal there from pique. Cech was great and spain should be giving him respect there .

The next game of ireland and sweden should be an easy win for sweden. I doubt that they will have any difficulty for this match . The odds for them to win is quite great as well so taking sweden moneyline for this game should be an easy money

I was getting pretty nervous by about minute 75, but I still had some hope that spain could finally score a goal. I mean 2 matches in a row like this without being able to score coming from a top tier team like spain is very rare, so I had hope until the end.

Now its time to see Ronaldo.
