2481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Overthink Potential of Bitcoin on: February 10, 2022, 09:08:38 PM
Government had played soft with bitcoin for a long time and the news this morning that the US government hold $3.6 billiion is just damn to bullish on the long term. Bitcoin is more of an SOV, very few use cases but a guaranteed digital asset with low risk as long as you hold. Bitcoin is no more a discovery, it more than an invention and adoption cant be controlled anymore.

Another thing is that we do not know which governments and which big players/whales are holding bitcoin secretly. I am sure the governments are also accumulating bitcoin but due to some unforeseen pressure, they hesitate to tell this openly. Also, i think that most people underestimate the potential of bitcoin and they don't anticipate high bitcoin price increase in the near future.
Most of the people do not trust an investment or a currency if its not totally backed by the government, and this is the case for bitcoin. But for smart people who always aim for financial freedom which is very impossible to achieve from fiat, then bitcoin will be the perfect choice. However, bitcoin does not guarantee profit taking all the time, as its very volatile and its price is easily affected by the market trends and sentiments. But if you compare fiat from bitcoin, bitcoin creates more opportunities to earn and gain financial security.
2482  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Inflation is a big problem for a country? on: February 09, 2022, 10:00:53 PM
Is it impossible to stop inflation in fiat currency or govt don't want to take any action it stop it?

Governments make money from inflation. Inflation is good for governments.
They print money, use it, and only then (after their spending) inflation occurs. So we lose money after the government spend it.

It is somehow a different form of tax.

Quote
Do you think people can do anything to stop inflation in their economy or its inevitable?

It can do, but it is not popular.

Government like to raise salaries, spend money to make economy grow.

When government build roads, hospitals, etc jobs are generated, many people make money, etc, and inflation helps gonverment make these things happen.

Individuals can protect themselves buying gold, bitcoin, stocks..
With the rising inflation that most of the countries are experiencing today, i see the chance to control this is very slim. And unfortunately, this will make the poor people become poorer seeing the prices continue to surge particularly for basic goods which means their money will be less valuable so it will reduce too the value of a currency's purchasing power. So making investments this time more particularly like bitcoin will protect us from inflation. Although this may not be the best option but it can be a great help not to put ourselves suffering from the peak of poverty.
2483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]: RYAN GARCIA vs EMMANUEL TAGOE - April 9 on: February 09, 2022, 03:52:53 PM
Can he beat Tagoe via KO?

We can't say but as always there's a chance. On the contrary, It might be the other way around too and Garcia might be the one to be KO even with a low chance.
the possibility will always be there especially this boxer even though he is still young but his abilities cannot be underestimated.
There were 21 professional fights and 18 of them were won by KO/TKO.
In addition, there are some great boxers he has ever beaten in such as Fernando Vargas, Romero Duno, Francisco Fonseca and the last one maybe Campbell who was defeated by TKO.
He is still young but his ability is so terrible and it is not impossible that he can do a KO even though Tagoe is also a pretty good boxer

Garcia was once knockdown but he stood up, so I think even if he will get Knockdown here, with his stamina, he can still stand up, finish the fight and win. He is also smarter now, he experienced getting knockdown and he won't let that happen again, with his power, I have no doubt that he could KO Tagoe.
2484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 09, 2022, 02:25:46 PM
^^ Maybe fire the coach or trade Westbrook,  Grin

I don't think there is an adjustment that they can make at this point. We already seen how bad the team chemistry is. And even if Davis is back and Lebron, they are still struggling to get a win against stronger team. A indication that they might not make the playoffs or not win on the first round.

It’s pretty crazy that at this point in time in the season it’s that the Lakers are 3 games under five hundred. I saw a post on I think it was instagram showing Russell Westbrook rubbing Lebron and Anthony Davis heads as to console them and neither of them were having any of it lol. Boy are they sure wishing they had signed Demar DeRozan and not him.

Yeah, looks like it's a sign that Westbrook will be leaving. If there's someone that will be traded, it should be Westbrook as the Lakers struggle when they traded their role players for Westbrook, they wish they can undo their decision.
2485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 09, 2022, 07:57:59 AM

Nice to see that game schedules are out. I miss that "Paper" they are posting on their Facebook when they release the schedule.

This will be a good topic to share here, what do you think guys about the future of NorthPort Batang Pier? Just to give others an idea, their players, Robert Bolick, Greg Slaughter, and Nico Elorde have yet to sign an extension with the Batang Pier.

The PBA is just about a few days to go to commence again but still no progress about these players' respective contracts.

NorthPort have signed Roy Sumang so i think they are filling the spot of the point guard position in case Robert Bolick and Nico Elorde won't be back to their line-up.

Greg Slaughter is a restricted free agent so i think he will be back with NorthPort to man the middle, they just have to offer what's best for this gentle giant and surely he will be back with them.

At least Sumang now are in a decent team, not a championship team but playing with Greg, that would be easy for him and I'm sure he will be more effective as he loves to drive the ball, and with Greg's height, they can get the offensive rebound and also Greg could be ready for the dish.

Sumang is a legit competitor of Terrence Romeo back in college days if I'm not mistaken, so he is really a tough guy and I'm happy that he finally found a good team. North is not a big team as it's not owned by SMB or TNT but this team has become better as they keep adding good players.

If Greg will still sign with Northport, then this team is going to be a legit threat to the big teams in the PBA.
2486  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 09, 2022, 07:12:31 AM

Good luck, sana tuloy-tuloy pa rin panalo natin.

Swerte ng mga tao dito, hehe,, panalo na naman @bisdak40, come from behind ang panalo ng Phoenix, at totoo, napakaganda talaga ng laro, parang pag NBA Finals na. Congrats sayo bro, more winning bets pa, baka sasabay nalang muna ako sa inyo.
2487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Man who lost 7500 bitcoin in a landfill asks gov't he wants to dig it up on: February 08, 2022, 08:20:38 PM
This tells the story that how non serious people were about btc in the start. There were countless such stories. Imagine these 7500 btc are lost forever, don't know whether there is count of such lost bitcoins or not. There is similar story, In 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz spent 10,000 Bitcoins at a local pizza restaurant called Papa John's to buy himself two pizzas
Next time don't make fun of new technology.
No one has predicted before that bitcoin will be a very huge investment this time, so maybe that is why he is still uncertain on his stand on bitcoin because he did not see its future value. And it can happen to anyone of us. But if you have the faith to something, even if you see the chances of that investment to explode is very slim, you will always give it a big importance and will try to keep it as much as you can.  But things happen differently. And this will be a life changing definitely if he will still succeed in looking for the hard drive. Maybe its too late for most of us, but for him there's always hope for it.
2488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Amir Khan vs Kell Brook - Feb 19, 2022 on: February 05, 2022, 09:47:32 PM
At least as far as the votes goes, there's 3 here who voted for Amir Khan to win. He will be at a disadvantage but maybe those who think that he will win is basing on the fact that Khan will still have that fast hands that can offset the Brook when is is coming forward. And when that hits, maybe Brook will have to think twice and Khan can win by knockout or by decision.

Unless the 3 has other reasons,  Grin

Actually 4 now, Kell Brook is still leading the poll with 6 votes or 60% of the total voters favored him to win. Actually it's not hard to pick from these two, we have our own reason and though Kell Brook is the favorite, but he is not undefeated which means anything could happen as Khan is also capable of winning by KO.
2489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: February 05, 2022, 09:11:27 PM
The fight is still a month later but this thread have been up last year.  Cheesy

The fight should be ended up now if Casimero is in good condition during their weigh-in that result in the cancellation of the fight.

We should now see already the result of this fight. The scenario might we are seeing right now is either; Casimero facing Inoue or to our surprise, Paul Butler will take a fight against Inoue or Donaire as he's now part of the discussion for being a champion.

I don't think that would happen, if Casimero is fully healthy, he can dominate Butler in a fight and could probably knock him out. Butler IMO is not anymore on the level of the champions in the bantamweight division, he may be is a mandatory challenger because he also has a good record, but he has to improve in order ot have a bigger chance of beating the streaking Casimero.
2490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 05, 2022, 08:36:04 PM
The one of the best things about Luka, he's just doing what he thinks the best for the team and doesn't even realized that he's dominating at it. Also, he's not so thirsty about the stats and records that he could pull of, such a humble big man. He's a real asset to the team with an average of 25 PPG.
That smile of him tells every Mavs fan that he is happy being surrounded by good players and playing the game that he loves unlike how Westbrook do it flexing everything his done for the team and even getting mad when he doesn't get what he wants. It's obviously a stat padding and was seen what he did with Adams at OKC with just 1 rebound shy to get a record breaking stat. Not fun to watch.
Westbrook being an MVP is not anymore the talk now, he is out of the MVP top 3 rankings because of his awful shooting and the Lakers are also struggling despite having a big 3 including himself. For a player to be called an MVP, he should be able to lead the team to success, and that's what Luka is doing, while Westbrook does the opposite.
2491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: February 05, 2022, 08:11:30 PM
Here's the weigh-in.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-GXPdHY0mM

Both make it to the limit, but Thurman is lighter at 145.5 lbs. But for sure he will re-hydrate himself and maybe weight at around 150-160 lbs. Barrios is tall and lanky but he feels very comfortable at welterweight.
Neither way he would really make out adjustments basing on the current weight does he have. For Barrios then no doubt that he do really feels very comfortable on this
division.
You could really see that this fight would really be something that goes toe to toe just like on what been mentioned above ^ and this is something that where
most boxing fans would really be liking to see on.

The day has come, this fight is going to be a great fight as both fighters are not boring to watch. I would still keep my faith on Thurman and I'm hoping that my bet would win, a KO would be much better than a win via decision, so I hope Thurman would be careful from the start until he'll finish Barrios with a KO.
2492  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bear Market thread on: February 05, 2022, 02:06:34 PM

2493  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 05, 2022, 01:28:34 PM

Good luck, sana panalo pa rin tayo ngayon.

Suns vs Wizards - Babawi ang Suns, hindi pwedeng back to back lost sila, -7.5 din.

Pwede rin parlay para exciting hehehe.

Parang gusto ko yang pick mo, Suns at Memphis, magandang combination yan, baka nga mas mataas pa sa 10 points ang magiging panalo nila. Ganon naman talaga ang good team, everytime na matatalo siya, babawi agad sila o tinatawag natin na bounce back, parang bola lang, kaya good luck sa atin, sasabayan ko na rin yang parlay mo.
2494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: February 05, 2022, 12:50:18 PM
Any fresh update about the fight? Since we are now entering the 2nd month of 1st Quarter, at least we should now see any update on this fight.

I haven't heard any update so far, hopefully this fight is still a go because this is going to be a good fight for GGG and this is a unification fight.

A good fight and definitely a must-watch fight between two champions.
The update only talks about the delay due to the omicron virus.
https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/995182/gennady-golovkin-japanese-champion-ryota-murata-delay/

However, it seems like the cases worldwide are going down, (correct me if I'm wrong), so we will probably see this fight this 1st half of the year.
2495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 05, 2022, 12:23:33 PM

Who else agrees that he needs more muscle to gain first? Not that a must but we see Pau Gasol haven't that much but still a dominant center way back his time.
I agree. He's better with added muscles. I think it will be part of his training and improvement but we'll see if there will be signs that he's going to work it out.
He can have a massive training once he will be drafted in the NBA, besides, he won't be playing as a starter right away, he will just become a reserve and if he improves then at the right time, he will gain a spot on the team and who knows he will be one of the starters.
Well, he can have his training while he's still in Australia and that would give him a sure buff for the scouters. With height and muscle, it's really ideal to see play in the NBA plus, he's still young.
That's what most of the scouters are looking out. And being a reserve and not a starter, it's okay, as long as he gets sign there when he think he's prepared and good enough to be in any team that signs him.
Better if he keeps improving even he's not yet there since that's his dream after all, he's been fighting the homesickness for it as mentioned in the recent episode of Playitright. We are all hopeful but he's the only one that can do it right if he works for it. I'm just hoping injuries will not be prone on him since that's what hinders him on why he miss some early games at Adelaide 36ers.

An injury will make him miss the opportunity to get drafted. I guess he really deserve to be in the NBA, with his height, I'm sure he can develop his skills especially his body so he can play with the bigger center in the league. Everyone in our country will be so proud of him seeing the first full blooded Filipino playing in the NBA, even if he'll only get some limited minutes.
2496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 05, 2022, 12:01:02 PM
For fun last night I bet on the Lakers winning against the Clippers, and it was a exciting match. If Davis could have hit that shot.

I have Pacers ML at 3.05 right now, live betting, yeah I know this is a long shot but it seems the Pacers are looking good at this game, so let's see, it will be another good game to watch with bets against the favorite.

Not a good bet because they weren't ready for the Bull despite they have fresher legs compared to the Bulls. It was a high scoring game, but the Bulls played harder to win and also cover the spread. As usual, Vucevic and DeRozan carried the team, no Lavine, not a problem as they still got the win.

2497  Economy / Economics / Re: IMF urges El Salvador to remove Bitcoin as legal tender on: February 04, 2022, 09:27:42 PM

So, International Monetary fund demands that El Salvador remove bitcoin as legal tender, otherwise it refuses to give loans to the country.

They are doing so to protect the people, as bitcoin will "bring instability and inflation"

How come a deflationary currency will increase the inflation ? WTF!

they continue, saying that IMF wants to protect the consumers:
IMF doesn't mean to protect consumers, they just protect their control over people....i really salute the hard mentality that President El Salvador has, fighting the IMF is quite a tough job, their threat is indeed very big but Nayib's trust in Bitcoin is really not in doubt.  "long live" president el salvador, hope your country can be strong and continue to survive making Bitcoin a legal tender there.
IMF is backed by the state so it will always find ways on how to control the people to stick with the US dollar and stay away from cryptocurrencies. But then, Bukele tends to be more tough than the IMF as he was never threatened with the IMF opposition to bitcoin, and instead take advantage on the crypto market by adding more bitcoins while they are cheap. I just hope El Salvador can withstand all of these, and when this happens, other countries will start to adopt bitcoin too.
2498  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is available on NO KYC Crypton Exchange on: February 04, 2022, 08:30:32 PM
No KYC is a tempting offer, however I personally would still keep my distance from new exchanges, no matter what features they claim. New exchanges need to prove themselves with time and patience. Not overblown promises.

At the very least we should take a look at the team behind the exchange as well as the investors and partners who are backing this entire website. If we don't have names and trustworthy faces, then that alone would seem like a red flag to me.

I have yet to make my judgement though.
There are more risk today if we get involved ourselves in those new crypto exchanges that have not proved their authenticity and of course, transparency. Particularly for those No KYC exchanges as the security of our asset is more at stake. So i have provided the top crypto exchanges for 2022 without KYC required. Check it here: https://themoneymongers.com/exchanges/anonymous-no-kyc/
If we are not contented with the quality services from the old exchanges, then maybe we should venture into these new ones. But if we see the old ones more reliable, then i don't see any valid reasons to move into new exchanges and takes more risk. Maybe some may do it for a change, well i respect that.

However, as i made a research on this crypton exchange, i found it quite interesting too. But knowing its still something new, there are these threats if the team behind is real and not really ghosts, or is this prone to scams or frauds, and having its transparency factor that is often a sign of legitimacy.
2499  Economy / Economics / Re: Which business profit model do you prefer? on: February 04, 2022, 07:20:30 PM
The capital that is available to start up a business will determine the kind of business that one will wish to go into. Even if enough money is available to start up business,  it is very important to start a business that won't look so complicated to manage , because everyone has  a specific kind of business that he/she can manage very well. The main thing is for one to know the kind of business that will be easy manage it.
Because apart from the capital that must be in the business, we also have to be able to master what we are going to do, because there is capital but poor management, the results will not be good on the other hand, when the management is good but there is no capital, it will not be too good either. this is still better because he can manage from small first.
even though the capital is small but when it is managed well enough, the results will be good and don't be in a hurry because everything has a process and is not instant
Overall, to start a business, we should have a sufficient amount of funds and a good management attitude that will make the business to prosper consistently. As long as both are present, even if we'll start with a small business, that does not mean that we'll only gain small profits too. The profits will be compounded that will end up with already a bigger profits. But of course, its still different if we start with a big time business because the profits will be a lot huge too. But its hard to manage a big business actually especially if you are still learning in it.
2500  Economy / Speculation / Re: How come BTC is not at least $75,000 yet? on: February 04, 2022, 06:42:21 PM
Humans for you, since btc is not government approved yet some people don't trust it enough to buy even when the price is ridiculously cheap, even among those who bought, some sell at the slightest correct made by fud, to prefer to stay in fiat despite how it deprecate in value,
Before the majority of people realize they are missing out on this opportunity btc price would be very high by then, I wish I have zillion cash to buy enough and seat back to watch the rest of the people fighting over what is left Grin
That will always be the case if they keep on prioritizing on increasing their fiat rather than accumulating bitcoin. Even with the inflation hike, people still prefer to use fiat because that is the only currency approved by the government, so they tend not to think anymore other options that can hedge inflation. This is the sad truth. People become poorer and poorer because of their attitude towards change.
