2501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many friends did you recommend bitcoin to? Did they accept it? on: July 16, 2015, 02:31:28 PM
I invited one my friends and he's really  interested to learn and earn some bucks, then I told him to visit this site www.bitcoin.org, search about bitcoin in the internet and recommended this forum. After a few days, it was an epic failed, he's not interested anymore. Sad,

That is the case with most of the people around us. They view it as a risky tool as the price keeps on fluctuating and they compare it which stocks and honestly they have lost huge money in stocks so now they dont want to risk again.

To bring people to use bitcoin at the beginning is a bit hard, but after they are in its hard to go away
2502  Economy / Speculation / Re: Woooooo!!!! 308$ atm!!! on: July 16, 2015, 02:30:29 PM
It's 292.9 at the moment. I dint know it reached $308 on 13th as the price was about $298 as per preev.com but Localbitcoin price was higher. I hope it doesn't decline to $250 and keeps increasing.

Probably not going down, litecoin on the other hand it looks like its falling and im pretty sure if it goes down more to 3-2$ bitcoin will rise because all the people that dumped litecoins will probably go back to bitcoins, i mean it happened when litecoin crashed from 8$ then bitcoin went up to 300

It is crashing now to $278. I was right that it will reach $250-$230 as it's price is just unpredictable.

I think it will reach again back to the days when bitcoin price was 200$.
Current price is dropping fast: $275

I wouldnt call it dropping, today it has been around 275-290 all day, you cant really call that falling, we have to wait a few days to really figure out if it dropped or not because it only takes a few minutes to go from 275 to 290

Well i call it a drop as it it at the moment. If we check day by day the price then this is another thing, but at the moment it is a drop
2503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does it feel to spend bitcoins and soon after the price goes up? on: July 16, 2015, 02:18:43 PM
There is someone who speaks to your head and saying "why why did you do that. Didn't you know what will happen ?"
But after that i keep relax, there is nothing that you can do after it's done.

2508  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: July 16, 2015, 02:03:22 PM
add one more btc to the bitcoin that are lost for ever, i had 1 btc saved in my laptop for a rainy day and the hdd just died forgot to make a backup copy.

Well that sucks, dont give up just now you could always try and recover the data replacing the part on the hard drive that die, check your local pc repair store just dont tell them about the bitcoin,
i had a friend with the same type of issue and they took his bitcoin it wasnt much but it was money.

That is a bad situation, what happened to the hdd? try to give a try to fix the bad sectors of the hard disk
2509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: July 16, 2015, 02:02:43 PM
Transaction time is a biggest concern. Some time its instant. Other time it takes much time and some users even wait for like 5 confirmation which normally take 30 mins for me now. So waiting seems to be drawback.
Transaction in Bitcoin actually Instant, Confirmation of the transaction which is takes much time.  Tongue

But what about the transaction that has no fee, they never get confirmed so sad Sad

It's impossible that a transactions gets frozen forever as far as I know. All transactions eventually get processed, it will just take a lot more to get it done. The best way to avoid this is always paying the standard fee.

Well that is the best way but i have seen transactions even with some low fee, it didnt get confirmed what will happen if they dont get confirmed ? how long will stay or will lost forever that unconfirmed amount?

It is just random, I make 2 transaction with usual fee, the first one is confirmed like about below one hour and the second one it get 3 days to confirmed. IMO whoever pay more fee he will get the first chance to get confirmed but with a low miners fee I dont think it will go fast. Like I just said it takes 3 days to confirm my transaction but at least it will confirm at last, just be patience

I can paste here 2 different transaction ids with the same amount of fee and one got confirmed very quickly another one has 2 days and hasnt confirmed yet

going under 200$ Shocked Cheesy Grin

Need to go under 280 first Smiley

EDIT: let's see if the ask walls are real.

Well it just went under 277.12$ - 2.36% from past 14 hours i think. This is a bad thing what is happening ?
2511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware wallets are unsafe on: July 16, 2015, 01:58:16 PM
What do you mean by paper wallet ? real life paper? you mean that !!! can't really understand it

Yes, there are web pages which you can should download for offline use and which can generate basically one or more pairs of public keys (addresses) and private keys.
You print the private key on a paper (yeah, that obsolete thing used for reading in the past) and put it into your safe box.

Well a good idea, but a hard way to implement to re use it, can you suggest me few web pages that offer this service ?

One is https://bitcoinpaperwallet.com/bitcoinpaperwallet/generate-wallet.html and in the bottom right it has a "Secure Download (GitHub ZIP file)" for local use.
Another is https://walletgenerator.net/ with "Download (GitHub Repository)" at page bottom.

I suggest that after download (and unpack to an USB stick) you should AT LEAST:
- verify thoroughly your system for malware, viruses and keyloggers
- unplug internet
- after generating and printing the wallet reboot your computer THEN plug back the internet cable

Even safer would be a virtual box with Linux where you generate the paper wallet.

Thank you for explaining this to me and to us. i am going to take a look and experimenting with them right now.
2512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why DOGE is so cheap, What am I missing?? on: July 16, 2015, 01:42:00 PM
Joke is a joke coin.

What I don't get is why too many people took it seriously and decided to buy such expensive stuff to mine Doges

Before mining doge was very fun and very high profit (if you ever heard for cointellect which scammed at the end)
2513  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: July 16, 2015, 01:41:13 PM

But the balance is 0.00, will they get back to the wallet ? as for the moment it is not.

I guess it depends on what wallet you're using. Your intent to spend is noted by the wallet and it reduces the balance by the sent amount. It if hasn't been confirmed then the balance is topped up with the sent amount. The balance did change but the coins never moved.

https://blog.blockchain.com/2014/03/05/occasional-unconfirmed-transactions-are-being-addressed/

well this is a good explanation for me and for others, seems then good, if there is no confirmation the balance will be back at the normal. thank you
2514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many friends did you recommend bitcoin to? Did they accept it? on: July 16, 2015, 01:39:46 PM
Same was with me as they don't know exactly what bitcoin is all about so they didn't shown any interest in investing their time and money in  a thing which they really don't know. I insisted them to watch videos on youtube but still they were not attracted to bitcoins. Poor People.  Grin Grin
I think you should explain them about bitcoin that can be changed to fiat, and look at their expression when you hold your bucks after that. Or maybe you could show them bitcoin's exchange rate to fiat  Smiley

Hahah someone who called a nerd or either a freak person, they just dont't know what is bitcoin and what it can do to the economy of the world, and maybe it also is the reason to don't have any delay in transaction.
I think most of us was like that, didn't believe bitcoin initially and had no idea about it. In few years later I hope they will get into bitcoin too.

When i explained that can be converted from fiat to bitcoin and when i told them that the price changes and you can lose or win they didnt accepted lol Sad
2515  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: July 16, 2015, 01:38:56 PM
yes few satoshi by faucets.

Do faucets pay you anything? IMO its not worth the small amount of satoshi you earn.

When i used to try faucets, the freebitcoin paid me but the amount is to low for that work and time spent in

Indeed, good paying faucets are all gone :\

I havent seen any good faucets that is paying good these few weeks that has been passed. All are gone Sad
2516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why DOGE is so cheap, What am I missing?? on: July 16, 2015, 01:13:45 PM
Doge really isn't cheap. It still is 5th in market cap.

Market cap is $ 17,931,253 , the price has dropped a bit as the bitcoin price drops had it effect
2517  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: July 16, 2015, 01:09:54 PM
I have a feeling that the unconfirmed transactions those amounts are lost forever?
please correct me someone if i am not correct.

If they never go through that means they never really went anywhere in the first place so they stay in your wallet.

But the balance is 0.00, will they get back to the wallet ? as for the moment it is not.

Kindly Quote My BTC Address, Thanks Grin

And a quote for you. For best safety do a signed message with your wallet address.

Well is it enough to post just the address? and later if it is required sign a message with that address ?

it's fine as long as you own the private key of that address to sign a message later when needed. if someone posted an address they can't even sign with then it's their responsibility.

Well i agree with you now and i change my mind, maybe they can post exchanges address that they can not sign it late Sad
Best practices is to sign immediately as fast as you can Wink

Why? The message required will vary, if they ever need to do so. If they put an address they can't sign, it is their fault only
Yes i meant that, i understood that way, its the user fault if he posted the address that can't sign it. so the best practices is to sign immediately
