2501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Common Online Gambling Fraud on: January 25, 2023, 01:49:36 PM
I would like to add another point to that list.

7. social engineering (Soft begging)

I have seen a lot of times people in the casinos chat telling some really sad stories with the intention of touching other users' hearts and that way receiving some coins. We can call it the shame speech.

Sometimes it works and other times they just get ignored but is a practice that has become more common nowadays, and users must be careful with this practice.

These are just online users who beg others for help, using different methods, and everyother niche like gambling won't be free from such practitioners. It's a fraud too, but not intense as the people who got touched, gave out willingly and with what they've got to give. I think it's a con. The fraud thing is mainly taking a huge amount of money or continuously deceiving the Casino owners to gain financially. Just like the impersonation aspect, where an underaged player gets the documents of their parents to pass KYC and become eligible to use the gambling platform. Such things goes against the rules of gambling, and frowned at too because it's fraud both to the casino and the young player who may be risking his peace just to feed his gambling ego.
2502  Other / Off-topic / Re: White Card entered in Football !!! on: January 25, 2023, 01:29:43 PM

What will happen when a player is shown the white card many time in one game or season?

I think the white card is meant for the FIFA workers; the health department, paparazzi or even to the quiet players in the bench. But, I don't understand one thing, will the whistle be blown and playing paused before the white card is awarded to a player, that's if, when, given to a player. That would be boring to viewers since nobody is injured or tackled roughly. The white card will unviel more use cases to viewers as other leagues starts using the card.

I think to answer your question in my view, the player with a highest amount of white card awarded to him could be given the man of the match.  Grin
2503  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens next if Bitcoin drops to zero? on: January 25, 2023, 01:16:10 PM
Except they are other ways the market price falls apart from losing it to fiat; coverting bitcoin to Fiat. Then, the price of Bitcoin cannot fall to Zero as they're many lost bitcoin in different addresses which will help the price of Bitcoin to stay ahead of zero, even if everyone moved ahead to another technology. You should be asking if they'll ever be a time when no node is running on the network. Such things are what could affect the Bitcoin network, but it's almost impossible to have no running node in the network and zero price of Bitcoin.
2504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today my client became the largest Bitcoin ATM company in the world! on: January 25, 2023, 07:30:12 AM
Genesis coin is your client  Shocked Shocked Shocked that is crazy Cheesy

anyway if bitcoin get regulated what happens with all of them (if the regulators have tight rule on bitcoin)  Cry did put atm need a license to build.
but it always good to see news that made crypto more easier to reach by people

Regulation is not necessarily a bad thing, because it gives guidelines to businesses to accept and use the technology. A lot of businesses want to use the technology, but in a lot of countries.... governments and regulators are halting their efforts with poor regulation.

Regulation are bad, when it creates a barrier to entry or if it is over regulated.... like we saw with the "BitLicense" in New York, where they made it so complicated that people had to hire consultants to assist them to adhere to the regulations that were introduced.

Now these companies have to start serving 3rd world countries... and stop concentrating on only serving first world countries.  Roll Eyes

Third world countries like Africa, would add customers to these companies and yield them more profits. Companies are facing lots of expenses in First world countries, reducing generated money, and requiring additional work force. The Government, is busy with adding the bills to law and careless about the effects of these laws to the citizen's businesses. In turn, third world countries could get sophisticated with fast growing online business, and crypto projects launching in their province. Helping development, and growth. Such treats would keep their Government aloof of other places where this bitlicense is passed. And they wouldn't want to pass such a rule easily until they are not satisfied, which is rare, with the services provided by the companies.
2505  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has someone tried to use ChatGPT to help in trading? on: January 25, 2023, 06:46:57 AM
but for now ChatGPT cannot be used, maybe because it is full or too many users are logged in.
I'm also curious about his intelligence. In fact, not only helps in trading, in any way ChatGPT can be used and put to good use. Seeing the many reviews on YouTube is truly extraordinary and beyond expectations.
Maybe this is the most sophisticated and smartest AI robot at the moment, it can replace a programmer.

The smartest AI robot is not as intelligent as the brain of a 1 year old child, human brain tries to avoid mistakes where money is staked. ChatGPT is programmed to decrease human labor on different niches of the internet, and may not be efficient to serve as a relatable guide to trading. It'll make good predictions about the market, and could go through other trading bots to fetch information, but trusting that the bot is smarter than us is laziness, and an unexpected lie. I always see ChatGPT as a means when I'm not energetic to carry out a task; trading or writing. It helps programmers write good programs. But, I noticed that the human labor is not completely wiped out, humans always want a do it all technology, yet we still have to crosscheck all the results these robots provide. Glancing on the trading results it provides could eat up more energy and still go wrong. I'd advise that, trading requires money so traders should invest additional time while making trades. AI may not give us what we expect.
2506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why did you have Faith in BTC? on: January 24, 2023, 10:05:53 AM
Why I like BTC is because of the opportunity it provides for everyone around the globe. It's not centralized or owned by a private body. Bitcoin is not banned for anybody. A country can decide to ban bitcoin, that doesn't mean its citizen are not eligible to use bitcoin. For instance, when PayPal was the only viral payment method for online stores and businesses many people complained about one issue or another. Some countries were restricted from using PayPal by their officials. Such things never will happen in bitcoin, everyone enjoys its decentralized nature, and loss of funds are mainly the fault of the holder. Nobody is to be blamed that's why we do our research.

On the other hand, bitcoin will grow higher in value and get adopted by many people that likes the features that it possess. When that happens they'll be more opportunities. So, the technology will help those that sticks to it in different ways, the best investment for bitcoin today is buying gradually and garnering information about the technology too. It'll build everyone in the community when the price goes ATH again.
2507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a good idea to just register on casino on: January 23, 2023, 09:30:51 PM
It's not for all casinos, they're some that won't bother sending bonus to you. Unless the process is like a method to earn bonuses then creating multiple accounts on different casinos will be a better idea. Moreover, some old players in physical casinos sign into casinos to get free food or free hotel rooms, these are the things that comes from playing casino games. So utilizing this method on online casinos won't be a bad idea depending on how much time the person have got to follow this method.
2508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Silence is Golden But... on: January 23, 2023, 09:00:49 PM
Silence makes no mistake, and it's wrong to think that everyone knows what they're doing. The list of influential people you made on this thread, despite being the financial intellectually brights, they are not expected to know it all. Their responses to cryptocurrency proves this claim, and they are not comfortable to see a unique system, that doesn't follow their method of getting rich, which made people super rich. Sometimes when you read their books it's more about compound interest, buying shares and investing in stocks. Cryptocurrency, sidelined all these advise from Warren Buffet, which can be a part of his anger towards cryptocurrency. He missed the opportunity and he sees it as a shame to come back and acknowledge the currency as a good investment. The likes of Michael Saylor was once skeptical about cryptocurrency, today he is enjoying the technology, because he accepted his mistake and invested into cryptocurrency. So, only a few would take responsibility and such people are under your list. That's why it's not proper to argue with them. The product is quality and doesn't need a debate to convince people.
2509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Crypto Recovery on: January 23, 2023, 08:28:40 PM

So what do you guys think, will a feature like this be possible? At least before quantum computers become ubiquitous? What are your thoughts about this?

But another question that rises is that, if its possible for some techy guys out there to recover lost bitcoins due to forgotten password and the likes, is there no possibility that this guys will one day go hacking peoples wallet?

These guys, if they are genuine, may not run out of market and they'll keep getting jobs, which will take their eyes off hacking people's account. However, the wait is too long, waiting for 1 year to restore the account is weird, because some clients can lose contact with the tech gurus within the 1 year period, so if the account gets recovered the whole money, including the 20% belongs to them. Hence, getting to such a level in programming means building an app that has all the features required to hack into a cryptocurrency account and that could have taken them a long time to build, why would it have to take upto 1 year to accomplish a task? The article looks like a short guest post with lesser information of what and how they can get this problem solved, still the possibility to get this done is thin.
2510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This Smells Like Hypocrisy on: January 23, 2023, 08:09:39 AM
While it's always safe to abide by the rules of any country regarding gambling, we must think of the reasons why the Government chose some particular games over the rest. First, it'll be wrong to remove completely gambling in a country, looking at the way the article sounds, if left for them they'll ban gambling. Second, the two accepted games makes them more profits, by promoting their local games and keeping citizens and tourists entertained in the country. Lastly, no lottery games pays off 100%, some pay out 97% and take 3% of any game played using their machine. So, I'd say that despite how long you play using the lottery games, players will always lose money which will profit the Government. Even those that win big jackpots on the long run would bet the whole winning back into gambling. I think the Government wants to make more money from citizens through gambling at same time rescue addicted players too.
2511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want to be great? Then be ready to learn. on: January 23, 2023, 07:50:38 AM
It's very tough to remember a missed opportunity and getting to accept our mistake is a smart way to begin. We are not only meant to learn, but invest actions too. We cannot live life through reading, we must go out to the society to understand life. What you have done is great, joining the bitcoin community. Here the knowledge which you seek would be given out to you free without paying a dime. While you read the forum, always recall the purpose that brought you here. And put the past to shame, its all gone and nothing wrong with being skeptical. What matters is picking yourself back up to run bitcoin. The opportunity doesn't end, think of a genuine method to earn through bitcoin, and you'll make profits it can only consume time.
2512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice on choosing a crypto casino on: January 20, 2023, 02:02:59 PM
Greetings, esteemed community. Could you help me advise? I've seen a lot of topics on the forum about crypto or bitcoin casinos, but I need clarification on their point. As I understand the crypto casino involves paying in different cryptocurrencies, and the bitcoin casino involves only bitcoins. How to choose a casino, is there a criterion for this, or do you just go to any casino and play? It's a rash move without preparation. Also interested in a payment system, which is recommended to play in such casinos? Or just a suitable crypto wallet? I apologize for my silly questions, but I want to understand everything once and for all.
Well, you're on the right board to ask this so expect a ton of response and of course advices maybe from pro or just a leisure gambler just like me. Choosing a casino is subjective and we have different kind of tastes on how we choose it. Don't just go in a casino especially if they aren't that a reputable one, always DYOR before you even sign up with them. If I were you, choose those casino/s that has lot of options for payment methods.
At most times it is subjective but for me it doesn't have to be. There are telltale signs of a casino being great and that's where I mostly bank on. Sure, tastes could really affect how you would answer OP's questions but this guy is most likely a newbie, I don't think giving him/her your subjective opinion about how to choose a good casino is going to help him. I'm looking at comments from these people giving him circular definitions of things when it could just be plain and simple. They clearly want help, we should give them objective thoughts only and remove bias from the setting.

What's wrong with offering a subjective opinion of what he or she is looking out for, I think the best he should get is what we all experience on daily basis with gambling. If he then finds one interesting, he can take the person's advise, it's why he opened the thread isn't it? Went through his thread and he thinks he made a silly question  yet he has been proven to by the nemerours, quality, useful responses on the thread that his question would be of good help to other new readers. All the responses here to me are top notch and none should be seen as less important. He is an adult, considering he wants to gamble, so picking the right idea won't be a problem.
2513  Other / Meta / Re: Binance pays Google Ads with the word "bitcointalk" on: January 20, 2023, 01:03:03 PM
Interesting, just double-checked it with several VPNs and the ad didn't pop up for locations like the US, France, Italy, Austria or Germany. Maybe they are focussing on the Portugese market to onboard some users from your location?

Interestingly, at this time it no longer appears. Was it some momentary test?  Undecided

Not a momentary test is just that the AdWord ad algorithm differs in so many ways. Maybe your device has been detected for visiting binance or searching for binance on google or even discussing with a friend about binance. For instance, I discovered that after entering my namecheap dashboard I'd see ads relating to namecheap on google or other social media platforms. So, google is working hard to see that they target these ads as accurately as possible, especially for android users. I don't know your Os, but it has been confirmed by some sources that google tapes people's discussions on social media through android phones and they use it to target ads. And to add to the claim the keyword bitcointalk isn't anywhere on the Ad you just shared.
2514  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis allegedlly prepares for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on: January 20, 2023, 12:32:34 PM

Certain percentage probably removed their money after everything that has happened in the recent period, but majority will just continue business as usual. I know people who lost money on both Celsius and FTX and they still are still staking significant amount of money on Binance, being absolutely sure that Binance is safe and nothing will happen. When I asked them can they be really sure that same thing won't happen with Binance, they told me that even if something happens to Binance, prices will go down so much that it won't matter anyway.  Roll Eyes And those people are not newbies at all.

Like you said; your friend doesn't want to take responsibility, same as everyone who uses third party company and the companies are not exempted in this circle. Look at Genesis, they didn't take responsibility of going bankrupt, they have pointed out lots of businesses like; Three arrow capital, FTX and their dispute with gemini, as contributors to their downfall. The issue with these centralized firms is, they don't stay independent. They're all linked to one another such that when one fails a lot more of firms would have a dispute or two. Hence, considering people's trust on Binance exchange, that may not happen, if Binance should file for bankrupcy today, they won't take responsibility for their faults, you'll discover new brands associated to their failure. In a nutshell, these people are like minded both their clients, they want to blame others for losing money in the cryptocurrency market. So, no need to worry about them it's the lane they want to follow.
2515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If I had known on: January 20, 2023, 11:32:26 AM
OP you need to understand that time doesn't make any difference for a determined person. A lot of people in the market are losing their bitcoin on daily basis because they're not determined to hodl their coins. I'd say that your stay here in few months would erased all the blames you have on yourself. The forum will level up your thoughts, through the numerous information provided here, to purchase more bitcoin even while thinking you're late. Everyone who didn't get bitcoin for free 13 years ago can consider themselves late comers, but that doesn't mean that people who joined last year haven't made more profits too. Imaging a person who bought 2 bitcoin at 16k each has made over 10k profits within a small period. Like everyone has said, no such thing as "had I known" in the community or market. Ok, now you've known start doing something from there.
2516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice on choosing a crypto casino on: January 18, 2023, 10:28:08 PM

If you're not new to casino gambling, but new to cryptocurrency casino gambling, then are no much difference except change in the payment method. However, if you are new to the gambling niche, you'll have to go through some cryptocurrency review sites for reputable casino, though they're multiple casinos for you to utilize in the forum that has been trusted by member, you'll still need to do lots of test running. One thing I'd advise you to always look out for in a casino is their provably fair policy. It'll help you stay away from getting rigged off your money. Moreover, if you're looking for a casino that guarantees winnings while playing their slot games or table games, I don't think such would be advisable for you to think that playing in a specific casino will guarantee more wins. Therefore, no criterion for choosing casino other than confirming their genuineness. Keep hunting for what you want to find.
2517  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: immune Boosters in the Forum on: January 18, 2023, 09:53:00 PM
Nothing is hidden in the forum, I'd advise you, OP, to observe closely the forum you're part of and you'll understand that the glittering things; merits, signatures are nothing compared to the network of people reading your posts on daily basis. These people are from different parts of the world and for that you may never lack help when you visit any country for conference or other purposes. I'd say the local boards are the best feature of the forum and every active member can benefit from it one day or another. Only the travelers would understand. We'll always need directions whenever we visit a new country and that's the best help for any traveler. So, a forum like this offers to its members plenty of help that beats the merits and signature campaign which are ranked no 1 on some members list of WHY-I-AM-HERE.
2518  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bolt Card management software is now open source on: January 18, 2023, 09:22:36 PM
Wow, that's really cool to manage your own Bolt Cards to make lightning transactions! It's interesting to see how technology is advancing to make transactions more secure and efficient.

more secure?
giving a merchant a LNURL where he can make multiple deductions from your balance..
yea fun stuff, just dont accidentality tap 3 times or it will cost you 3x

While setting up the bolt card you can limit the daily amounts to how much money you'll wish to spend a day or weekly. So, users are expected to put their daily limitation in smaller amounts to avoid such things like you pointed out. Moreover Boltcards are more secure compared to the static LNURLW in terms of deducting money from clients balance with the help of this Boltcard extension or the Bold card NFC card creator app on google play store, the bolt card can be erased, so far the key is backed up the person can re-create another one to maintain the security of the card.
2519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting against the Public, is this strategy working? on: January 18, 2023, 08:54:36 PM
Gamblers constantly try to follow new ‍stretegy for batting to win. Not all the strategies will work. Many strategies work once or twice, but later it does not work. However, no matter how good the strategy, it will not work too long. The strategy that the OP has talked about can be effective. But not for all the time. In applying this technique, it is necessary to keep the risk of taking a threat. You have to think adversely when the team is in good condition. On the other hand, it is very difficult to support the opposite team in a match that is adversely but you have to obey. Strategy and luck both are needed to win in any betting.

The worst aspect of gambling is thinking that people know what they are doing and trusting that casino writers know much about gambling. These strategies keep people away from becoming better gamblers and most gamblers would stick to such strategy till they get old in gambling without figuring out what actually works in gambling. The moment one starts seeing gambling differently other than a means of making money they'll advance quickly in the niche and stay away from strategies that won't work.
2520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: What percent of your portfolio is stored in Bitcoin/Crypto on: January 18, 2023, 12:20:58 PM
In cryptocurrency I have 80% of my portfolio investested in bitcoin and in altcoins like BCH. Hoping to build more of bitcoin and double it up to get higher than the altcoins I've got. Though, I see profits on BCH than in bitcoin because I have a good amount of BCH than BTC. But, Fiat is not left out, I utilize fiat a lot and its also a part of my portfolio. However, observing the market It seems some altcoins yield same level of profits with bitcoin. For instance, If a person invests 20k to purchase 1 btc and the other invest 20k to purchase 168 BCH they'll see similar profits if the market is moving bullish.
