2501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 03, 2021, 07:25:23 AM
The decision of hiring Ralf Rangnick as a Manchester United manager is pretty weird.
This guy was working in Russia as a director of Lokomotiv Moscow(one of the not-so-successful Russian football clubs) and he has zero experience as a manager in the Premier League.
I guess that German football coaches are put on a pedestal in England right now, after the success of Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel in both Liverpool and Chelsea.
Probably the Man United owners have thought "This guy is a German,he would definitely be successful."  Grin
A few years ago,Italian coaches were also put on a pedestal in England, after Mancini,Ancelotti,Conte and Ranieri winning championship titles with Man City,Chelsea and Leicester.
Anyway,Man United vs.Arsenal was a pretty interesting game to watch.
Maybe Arsenal also needs a German manager. Grin
2502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Home Economics TV show mentions payment in “crypto” on: December 03, 2021, 06:56:16 AM
Bitcoin/Crypto has been mentioned multiple times on TV shows about finance/business in my country.
However, that doesn't mean that Bitcoin/altcoins are widely adopted in my country.Actually it's quite the opposite.
I guess that shitcoins/NFTs are going to get more hype around the mainstream media, mostly because they are new.Bitcoin is here for years,so the mainstream media got used to it.
We should stop getting so excited every time Bitcoin/crypto gets mentioned in some random TV show.
Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general are a part of pop-culture by now.
2503  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin allows tax evaders, Please pay attention.... on: December 02, 2021, 12:50:27 PM
Quote
The main problem with tax evaders is lifestyle,

NO.The main problem with tax evaders is the fact that they are committing a crime+their greed. Grin
All the rich people can live a luxurious life without trying to hide their income and trying to avoid paying taxes.
The problem is that they want more and more.
It's 10 times more difficult for middle class and working class people to commit tax evasion crimes. They simply don't have good tax accountants, offshore bank accounts, fake companies, etc.
Bitcoin has nothing to do with this.Maybe some tax evaders are using BTC to commit tax evasion crimes, but the vast majority of the tax evaders are using the fiat financial system for tax evasion.
2504  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bonus of over 1000 Euros stuck behind wager wall, fml on: December 02, 2021, 07:02:55 AM
Casino bonuses are used as an incentive to make the gamblers deposit more money(and eventually lose that money,so the casino makes profit). No casino in the world is going to just give away bonus money for free.
There's nothing wrong with that. This is how the gambling business works.People should gamble for fun and not for the sake of winning bonuses.
I'm really suspicious about this Clubriches casino, because I've never heard anything about the casino,so the possibility of getting scammed is big.
OP,you should be careful when making deposits on that casino.Greed is the worst advisor.
I'm wondering about the possibility of the casino lying to the gambler,by making him think that he "won" a big bonus by playing some games, that are actually rigged. When the gambler decides to deposit and bet some money in order to claim the bonus,he eventually starts losing the games and the money he bets.

2505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Role of BTC in the metaverse? on: December 02, 2021, 06:34:27 AM
I still can't figure out what would be the main benefit of this "metaverse" thing for the human kind.
All the nerds and geeks will have one more excuse to sit in front of their computers 24/7 and stay socially dysfunctional, rather than going outside their homes and having a real life.
All the people, who have "internet addiction" will definitely be exploited by the creators of the so called metaverse. What's the point of having a virtual life, when your real life is shit?
Should we be worried that Bitcoin won't have a dominating role in the metaverse?
Nah,the metaverse is going to be BS anyway.
2506  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Request for your support 🙏 on: December 01, 2021, 12:07:39 PM
Hey there. We are developing a project yet to be launched. But before the official launch. We need to grow a strong Community which will offer tremendous support to the project. Currently we have few members. But your time will be highly appreciated if you could just come in and learn aboutt the project. After that, we will all have the opportunity to be part of a paid Community. I will really appreciate your support in this new project. Remember, your views, support, ideas for the the successful growth of the project is highly valued and appreciated. 🙏🙏

https://t.me/clubhomykovGroup

Why don't you just tell us what this project is about here instead? I don't know man. There are many scams going on on Telegram. Looks pretty suspicious to me. You said you need to grow a community, you can do it here. This forum is the heart of the crypto people. You don't need to look further. Create a thread and tell us about your project. We are glad to listen.

It doesn't matter if it's going to be Telegram,Discord or Skype.Scams can be found everywhere.
The platform doesn't matter.
OP,what do you mean by "paid community"?What kind of product or service will be offered to your community?
What's the point of keeping your project a secret? If you don't share your main idea, then nobody is going to support your project.
2507  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are some government officials like saying what they don't understand on: December 01, 2021, 11:28:38 AM
What government officials say about BTC might sound hilarious and/or ignorant,if you are an experienced Bitcoiner.
However,if you are a total noob and you are not even aware about Bitcoin, you would mostly likely listen to the government officials and believe in their words.
Many people, who aren't inside the crypto/Bitcoin world might believe the BS about Bitcoin being a threat to the national security and/or the financial system.
CBDCs might attract many financially ignorant people, who don't know and don't care about Bitcoin.
After all,the CBDCs are guaranteed by the central banks and they are digital currencies. What's not to like? Grin
The "average Joe" won't care about decentralization, deflationary nature, secure transactions and all that stuff.
2508  Other / Off-topic / Re: ⚽ Ballon d'or 2021 - 30 Left - 29 November 2021⚽ on: December 01, 2021, 07:04:54 AM
I guess that Messi won the 2021 ballon d'or only because he won Copa America with Argentina.
Wining a trophy with your national team is a big reason for winning ballon d'or.That's why Jorginho was voted on the third place, because Italy won Euro 2020.Chelsea won the 2021 Champions league, but I'm not sure about Jorginho's contribution to this achievement.
Lewandonwski is the greatest striker in the world right now,but he didn't won the Champions League with Bayern or the European trophy with Poland.Winning the Bundesliga with Bayern isn't such a big achievement, since Bayern is doing this every year.
2509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto's Wealth on: December 01, 2021, 06:41:12 AM
OP, your question is irrelevant at this point.
What's the point of asking a question that nobody, except Satoshi himself, can answer?
Increasing your post count with one more post?
Every year, multiple Bitcoiners keep asking the same question and it is clear that nobody can answer.
I'm beginning to believe that Satoshi Nakamoto might be dead and his BTC will remain untouched forever.
What's the point of having billions of dollars worth of BTC and not using them for something good(for charity, environmental projects or investing in promising startups)?

2510  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-11-27] Hillary Clinton Warns of China and Russia ‘Manipulating’ Crypto on: November 30, 2021, 12:50:23 PM
How the hell can cryptocurrency manipulation "destabilize the US dollar"?
WTF?This doesn't make any sense.
China is basically out of the crypto world, but this b***h is trying to continue the "China is manipulating cryptocurrencies" FUD shit. This is pure ignorance.
Guess what.Cryptocurrencies are supposed to destabilize the US dollar, because they are created as an alternative to the US dollar.Unfortunately they have turned into investment assets, which are valued in USD and stablecoins like Tether pretty much helped for this process. This means that there's no threat for the dominance of the US dollar coming from the cryptocurrency world.
Basically Clinton is using a good old manipulation tactic, which is being used by all politicians.Using a foreign enemy as an excuse to reduce people's freedoms and impose fascist laws and regulations over the society.

2511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For those holding BTC for the long haul, do you earn interest on your stash? on: November 30, 2021, 12:06:39 PM
Capitalism is all about risk.
A company working for profits takes risks.Zero risk usually means zero profit.
A bank that gives loans is earning interest rates, which is also a profit, which means that the bank is getting paid for taking the risk to lend money.Bank loans are covered by assets, like mortgage.
I have nothing against earning interest for your Bitcoins, but only if you give loans that are covered by a big enough collateral. The collateral must be at least 120% of the loan amount.
Sending your Bitcoin to some crypto company, which is promising you X% annual interest is a big NO for me.
Any crypto company can scam you at some point. It doesn't matter how legit the company seems to be.

2512  Economy / Economics / Re: Another One Bites the Dust: Entebbe Int. Airport falls to China's Debt Trap on: November 30, 2021, 07:35:42 AM
So basically China giving loans to African countries is a bad thing?
Then why can't the African countries borrow money from somewhere else?USA,France,UK,International Monetary Fund,World Bank?Is China the only option for borrowing money?
What makes China loans so irresistible for the African countries, since the conditions of that loan seem to be too restrictive for the country, that is borrowing the money?
AFAIK,Uganda is one of the more economically and technologically advanced countries in central Africa. Can't they repay a 200 million dollar loan? The amount isn't that big.
Giving the airport to China isn't such a horrible thing. The government of Uganda can decide to nationalize the airport. This will make the Chinese angry, but the western countries might support such decision.

It's all set to launch the funding ground in 2020.

What?I guess you mean 2022,not 2020.
I'm pretty sure that this "social gambling platform" won't offer anything new or groundbreaking.
Just a bunch of the old games, but combined in a different way,so that it will look compelling to the newbies.
It has been stated multiple times that skill based games cannot be used for gambling.
I have nothing against player vs. player games. They can be quite interesting.Adding a gambling/betting element can be nice.I'm not a fan of fantasy sports games,so I won't join such platform,if it offers fantasy sports only.Having a variety of games would be nice.
There's no detailed info about this platform,so we can't properly analyze and review all the features that are about to be offered.
2514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Citadels Poll on: November 30, 2021, 06:43:59 AM
Your idea will never come true, but it's nice to fantasize about such island.I have a few questions.
Do you realize how expensive it is to build an artificial island in the sea/ocean?
What would be the incentive for investors to fund such project? Will they get a portion of this island?
What would be the incentive for Bitcoiners to come and live on this island? No taxes? No regulation?
Do you plan to build crypto mining facilities on such island? If yes,how are they going to get energy for mining?
Solar and wind power?
What's the guarantee that global superpowers like USA,China and Russia will respect the autonomy of this island and they won't decide to occupy it?
2515  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think does this Cities have that we dont? on: November 29, 2021, 12:17:48 PM
All the counties and cities in your list have one thing in common-High standard of living.
This attracts young and talented people from the poor countries, which leads to a migration from the poor to the rich countries.
All those countries also have several other features:
1.Less bureaucracy and easiness of registering and running a business(maybe except USA).
2.Good educational system.
3.An abundance of young and highly qualified people(some of them are coming from underdeveloped countries).
4.An abundance of risk seeking investors, who are willing to invest into high tech startups.
5.The entrepreneur culture in these countries favors innovation and new technology, rather than traditionalism and conservatism.
6.Good infrastructure.
2516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Is the bubble about to burst?" on: November 29, 2021, 11:54:14 AM
I wouldn't waste my time reading an article that repeats everything that BTC haters and FUDsters have been saying about Bitcoin during the last 10 years.
1.Bitcoin is a bubble?Yes,the Bitcoin market can form price bubbles.Every financial market is forming price bubbles. Is there something wrong with that?
2.The "crypto whales"/"crypto elite" is a bunch of greedy scammers.
Well, some of them can be called scammers, some of them are actually legit.Bitcoin cannot be called a scam only because scammers are using it.Being greedy is still not considered a crime.
3.Bitcoin is an investment/speculation tool rather than a real currency.
This is partially true and there's nothing we can do about it.
2517  Economy / Economics / Re: No where is actually safe on: November 29, 2021, 07:10:58 AM
1.No investment is 100% guaranteed to make profit. That's why there is a risk/reward ratio.Riskier investments bring bigger profits.Less riskier investment bring smaller profits. There's always a risk of losing your investment.
2.Nobody is saying that making money online is EASY.It never was and it never will be.
It doesn't matter if we are talking about the crypto industry or the online fiat economy.
I'm not going to care about all the delusional people, who got caught by the crypto hype, who think that Bitcoin/altcoins/NFTs will make them millionaires without them putting any work and effort at all.
Bitcoin IS a safe heaven, but only if you don't panic and you don't sell your BTC,when there's a price drop.
2518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice or slot, Horse 🐎 ride on: November 29, 2021, 06:49:48 AM
I don't quite understand the point of this forum thread.
OP,you can play any game you want.At the end of the day, gambling is supposed to be played only for fun.
Gambling isn't about trying to make more money or trying to "master" any game(which is ridiculous,if we are talking about luck based games).Maybe you are one of those naive people, who believe in dice game "strategies" like martingale.Forget about that crap and just play for fun. There's no "less risk" in gambling games. At the end of the day,the casino will always win.You may have luck here and there, but you have to control yourself and learn when to quit.
2519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys think 0.1BTC is enough to "make it"? on: November 29, 2021, 06:33:42 AM
Even if the Bitcoin price hits 1 million dollars(which is impossible) 0.1 BTC will be like 100K USD.
Good luck trying to buy a mansion with 100K USD. Grin
Having a mansion is more like having a liability rather than owning an asset.More expenses and no income.
Do you know how much it costs to maintain a mansion? You would get bankrupt in no time and you will have to sell that piece of crap.
Why the hell do you need a mansion? To impress girls?Hahaha. Grin Just buy a sports car. Grin
0.1 BTC isn't enough to "make it".0.1 BTC isn't enough to live a rich lifestyle, sipping margaritas on a tropic island surrounded by hot girls. This is simply delusional.

2520  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: shorting coin on: November 28, 2021, 12:02:52 PM
I don't know in particular about cryptocurrency exchange platforms accepting shorting(probably the big ones are offering such service),but eToro was offering "contracts for a difference" or CFDs,which seems similar to futures trading.CFDs are banned in the USA for some reason.
You and the broker bet on a coin that is worth 1USD.If the coin price pumps to 1,30USD you make 0,30USD profit.
If the coin price drops below 1 dollar to 0,70USD,you lose 0,30 cents and the broker takes that as profit.
I wouldn't recommend eToro and I don't know about eToro still allowing cryptocurrency CFDs.
I haven't used eToro for years.
