FrictionlessCoin, my question is, if more and more people begin to know that they cannot move their LXT in or out of Bter, wouldn't the price collapse soon?
If you can't move NXT into BTER either, then you can't sell it. So the price stays the same. I really don't know what is going on over there, all I know is that when I fire up the NXT client, it gets stuck sometime early January. I don't have time to investigate, nor do I care. I've decided that building off the NXT code base is not worth it, so I am taking a different but better approach. The great thing about these threads is that you discover new things. I think we have finally discovered how to make 100% Proof of Stake secure. Our approach is quite novel and has not been done before, so I'm really excited about delivering this!! |

How it will work is:
Frictionless will continue to brag about how NEX is better than NXT, even though he can only copy it. He claims he is adding new features, but in reality the NXT team is doing all the things he claims he is doing. As soon as the NXT team makes a release, frictionless will claim he did it.
As to what people will get, only time will tell. The distribution method keeps changing and it seems that frictionless has 100% control over all aspects of NEX distribution. Will it really be fair? What can anybody do if it isn't? If frictionless is actually writing code and adding features, it would be a different story, but his idea of writing code is decompiling NXT code. also, since NXT source is supposed to be so bad according to him, why on earth is he using any NXT source code at all. Shouldn't he simply write an entirely new version from scratch?
Why did he steal all of NXT marketing materials, just changed "NXT" to "NEX", sometimes he didn't even both to do this. Why would someone spend so much time if he isn't planning on making a profit somehow. Where do you think that profit will come from?
Some cloned version of NXT that is exactly the same tech as NXT without anything new except a genesis block. Just don't send any BTC or NXT to him, and certainly don't burn any. All you will get back is worthless NEX. Without a community, trading market, etc. NEX will have no real world value.
NXT already has half a dozen exchanges, fiat gateways, over ten thousand stakeholders, and on and on. New releases come out weekly, sometimes more often.
His claim that 50 NEX for one NXT is generous is absurd. That is 0.02 ratio, basically he is saying that NEX already has the peak LTC/BTC ratio LTC ever got, when NEX is so far totally vapor and a 100% clone of NXT. When LTC got the 0.02 ratio ($50 LTC), it was already on major exchanges, accepted in many websites, etc. It also actually had a speed improvement over BTC.
At best NEX is a joke, at worst it will be a scam that leaves anybody that puts anything into it without anything.
If you want one billion coins without any market, you can do that yourself without NEX. Just issue it using NXT asset exchange.

I am a member of both Nextcoin.org and Nxtcrypto.org, I feel that the members there are not happy, even this trading begins at Bter.com, this recent high price, nobody cares to post there,as if there is nothing happens. There is no happy mood, like the DOGE fans, people are happy. Not the NXT people. Very strange.
Would renaming Nxt to Kitty help? Nope, because DOGE is built on tried and proven satoshi bitcoin technology. Nxt - well... a bunch of weekend coders. |

You can't do a free and fair PoS coin. You need to set some sort of starting value. Frictionless finally figured that out. Good. I'd be interested in doing 10K Nxt for 500K Nex through an appropriate escrow if upfront or traded after the genesis block launch.

There are a lot of crypto's out there that will give u a good return on your investment over time, but sitting here and hoping that u will get a big bag of magic beans from nex and FC in exchange for nothing is not very realistic.
So the 71 founders in NXT are the only one's who deserve to make a killing investing 21 BTC? With NEX you invest zero and you lose zero. Can't beat that! |

so NEX will be working on an entirely new code base because NXT itself is not worth building a foundation on.
This is good, coz original Nxt code contains traps that will be triggered if someone uses it with different genesis block. I hope u will really rewrite the code, coz if u use Nxt code then NEX will be dead within a couple of days. where in the world do you come up with fiction like this?  so not only is the code proprietary... it is full of traps. so many traps, that you yourself can't extricate away from its bugs. heck... it is so buggy it is a joke. everybody who has downloaded the code knows it is a joke. the only reason the coin is up in BTER is because people can't transfer any coins to BTER. We've already decompiled the highly obfuscated Nxt client and have a working clone.
ROFL and guess what I discovered when I finally got the code to compile.... .... garbage. so NEX will be working on an entirely new code base because NXT itself is not worth building a foundation on. |

Can the developer explain why he is selling NEX before giving for free for those who showed early interest? At the very least it's discourteous. You got so much attention because people believed they would get a free stake in this new coin, but instead you're now selling it for NXT; The coin you're very criticising? Please explain. Coins are being given away to Visacoin and Nxt victims. Visacoin victims submit their BTC transactions and will be paid proportionally. Nxt victims (actually more specifically, soon to be victims) exchange their Nxt coins for 5% of the total available NEX coins. We consider Nxt coins to be soon to be worthless. What about people who have BTC, LTC and other crypto-currencies? We'll we aren't taking taking their money. We do this out of charity and fairness. But aren't you undermining your message by taking NXT, a currency NEX is essentially apposed to, as payment for NEX? I can understand the Visacoin victims, but taking NXT does fuzz the message a bit. Because unlike BTC, NXT coins are soon to be worth nothing. Just like Visacoins are worth nothing. So I am being entirely consistent, we don't ask for anything for you to acquire NEX coins. |

And, that genesis creation should stick to your original post and require 'expressing interest'. After genesis has been created and initial distribution is ejected, THEN you can do what you want with your NEX.
Please return all the REAL ASSETS that you've collected so that NEX can get off the ground with a fair distribution.
The ONLY stakeholder SHOULD NOT be able to artificailly set the price -- distribute and let the market play.
Dude, don't give me this 'faux' concern for NEX. You are a known Nxt Zealot. You've been screaming since day one for folks not to invest. Well why not? It's a no brainer.
