CONLOG

PayCon has released Version 2.0.1 (Sept. 9th, 2015)

Version 2.0.1 comes with a the change of Multisend GUI which replaces the CON for Charity function. Multisend allows you to send up to 100% of your Stake to multiple addresses of your choosing. Link to the Cryptsy market has been added to the social/exchange tab and a small fix to the Hashsettings.

Links have been updated in the OP to connect only from release tags in Github rather than a third party such as mediafire.

PayCon is now available on Android from the Google Play store, take your CON anywhere on mobile.

PayCon has released Version 2.0.0 (July 14th, 2015)

-automatic TOR integration - New Clients should upgrade to version 2.0.0 in order to connect to the rest of the network through TOR. TOR is a public and anonymized network which aids in privacy of transactions and security of the network.

Combine threshold set as a default as 100 Coins and 14 days, this means that once your Blocks are older than 14 days and Stake with less than 100 Coins, it will combine multiple Blocks under 100 within the same Stake input until over that amount. You also now have the option to change your combine threshold amount from 100-1000 Coins by adding

combinethreshold= *100-1000*

to your PayCon.conf file

-Hashettings and the timedrift between Stakes reduced to 45 seconds from one minute in the drift allowed between Stakes in order to reduce orphans and you can change the settings in your RPC console using the "hashsettings" command.

-4 new Themes, removed Owlcon and Muggle Theme's (Thank you DCgirl for the new theme's)

getstakesplitthreshold -  view your threshold limit
addnode - add nodes on the command line
getaddednodeinfo - information about added nodes

Bug fixes and improvements

Gui Features for CON for Charity
Checkwallet and Repairwallet added to tools along with orphan removal
Added blocks by weight to coin control
Better stake estimation

Hardfork occurring at Block 50,000 (Feb, 3rd) changing the Proof of Stake reward to 30 Coins per Block depending on Block size and Coinage, That's right! simulated Proof of Work mining through Proof of Stake without any special hardware!!

Increased rewards!!!

Proof of Stake minimum difficulty changed

From: bnProofOfStakeLimit(~uint256(0) >> 2)

To: bnProofOfStakeLimit(~uint256(0) >> 24)

This change prevents Proof of Stake Blocks from being pushed within seconds of each other, preventing large amounts of orphans and memory exhaustion.

Proof of Stake Rewards changed

From: 50% per year

To: Proof of Stake reward of 30 Coins per Block

The chance to hit a POS Block depends on the number of Coins in the Block (transaction sent to your wallet), time passed since they have remained stationary in your wallet (minmum 2 days and maximum 14 days) and network Staking activity (more Staking activity reduces the chance per person overall)

Stake Split and Combine Thresholds changed

From: 1 day and 1000 Coins (All Blocks smaller than 1000 Coins will combine the Stake and Reward)

To: 5 Days and 500 Coins (if a Block Stakes past 5 Days and is less than 500 Coins, the Stake and reward will combine, otherwise it will split into 2 Blocks)

This change provides more security for the network by encouraging smaller Proof of Stake Blocks for larger rewards and higher rewards at lower difficulty.

New Wallet Changes

Added use of Minimal Coinage for increased rewards

Fix to the IRC Chat and new links to relevant resources

New Splash screen, New Logo's and Icons

Paycon (CON)

We have decided that new wallets are the first priority. The CON wallet needs to be completely redone. New code base, new reward structure and new wallet design.

BTC Dev Fund Address:
CON Dev Fund Address:

If you do not have any funds you can send but still want to contribute you can use MultiSend in the PayCon wallet.

WHAT IS MULTISEND?
MultiSend allows a user to automatically send a percent of their stake reward to as many addresses as you would like.
The MultiSend transaction is sent when the staked coins mature.
The only current restriction is that you cannot choose to send more than 100% of your stake using MultiSend.

To access MultiSend in the wallet: Tools --> MultiSend
If everyone sent 15% (4.5 CON) it would not take long to reach our goal.

How does PayCon Proof of Stake work?

Proof of Stake means proving ownership of the amount owned through time. When someone sends Coins to your wallet they are encoded with the time at which they have been received and begin to accumulate Coinage. Coinage is measured by the amount of Coins times the number of days they have been stationary in your wallet. After 2 days of being stationary in your wallet, Coins will be eligible to "Stake" and will compete on the network to prove ownership. Coinage accumulates automatically, you do not need to have your wallet running but once your Coins are past the minimum age of 2 days, they will only Stake once your wallet is open and connected to the network.

Here is an example.

John sends Mike 4 transactions of 300 Coins, 300 Coins, 500 Coins and 10,000 Coins

Mike now has 4 Blocks (300), (300), (1000), and (10,000)

Mike leaves his wallet closed for 2 days and then opens it and decides to leave it running and immediately the Block of 10,000 Coins "Stakes"
and he receives a reward of 30 CON and the Block is split into 2 equal Blocks of 5015 Coins each. The 2 Blocks of 5015 Coins begin accumulating Coinage once again.

After 2.5 days the Block of 1000 Coins Stake and Mike receives a reward of 30 CON and the Block is split into 2 equal Blocks of 515 Coins.

At 4 days, the two blocks of 5015 Coins Stake once again and Mike receives 60 CON and splits into 4 Blocks of 2522 each

***After 5 days if Blocks of Coins have not Staked, multiple Blocks in the same address under 500 will combine together and Stake along with the reward into one Block http://blockexperts.com/con/height/106205 ***

At 5 days, the two Blocks of 300 Coins Stake in one transaction and Mike receives a reward of 30 CON and the entire amount combines into one Block of 630 Coins

You can view the sizes of all your Blocks, by using the Coin Control feature located in the "Send Coins" tab of your wallet and can sort them by addresses, size, weight and time received

You can gain the most Stake reward by managing the sizes of your Blocks with Coin Control, you can select multiple smaller Blocks and send them to yourself to combine them into one larger Block so they Stake sooner, or select a larger block and send smaller amounts to yourself to so you have more Blocks competing on the network for higher rewards. Each time you send a transaction, it costs 0.05 CON and it resets the Coinage back to zero to begin accumulating once again.

Your reward per day and per year is based on the amount of Coins you own, the sizes of the Blocks of Coins, and the amount of people Staking their Coins on the network. If there is a low amount of people Staking their Coins, smaller Blocks of Coins will Stake sooner for higher rewards ie. If you Stake but other people do not, you receive the rewards that they would have received.

If interested in an explorer that blows every other one out of the water you should check out the NEW Block Explorer at http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/paycon/

Problems with Hyper-inflation? PayCon doesn't have that problem, inflation growth is constant.

But we have a caveat. When the inflation rate is constant, what is your annualized Stake rate? PayCon is still yielding around 500% Stake Smiley

Difficulty is increasing.

Marketcap is at an all time high.

Play the Flappybird game, it summarizes it's use as a Cryptocurrency quite well.

the network stakes as it should. dont worry about this. its fine.

Sory last question I am not good with how work PoS but I have 450 000 MWC. PoS is 5% on Year so I think 450 000 x 5% : 365 days = 61 coins from one day.
I usually take 7 coins on one day (my comp working about 8 hours on day).
So its normal take only 7 coins with 5% POS on one day ? My math is wrong?

It all depends on the size of your Blocks of Coins. You have 450k but you likely have a lot of very small blocks, as each time you Stake your Stake and reward will split into 2 equal sized Blocks. The time to Stake is dependent on the difficulty of the network, if there are a lot of Blocks on the network trying to Stake, that pushes back the time at which each person will Stake.

And now you making a new PayCon topic?

It's done, just getting a loljosh to compile the windows wallet as a .exe only version

I can make the wallet for Windows but it needs the extra QT .dll files. I need to update my Windows compiler when I have more time so it's easy to just pay Josh a bit to make it for me, plus I like the guy.

Quote from: coinfire.cf
... a statement from Mr. Garza in August of 2014. Mr. Garza stated that a percentage of the profits for ZenPool came from “day trading.” The fact that he stated it was from day trading created a situation in which, according to various securities laws, makes it a security.

See, they had sold people more Scrypt hashing power than existed on the entire network.  So they had to admit that "not all" of the money was coming from mining.

POD is a joke. The man Dev of Stealthcoin XST was a scamer who couldn't even code.
But Coinsource talked about how smart he was and how good at his work.

Coinsource is still a scam and propaganda website nothing more.

Agreed

Add ApexCoin and VocalCoin to your list.

Proof of Developer offers nothing real and has launched more scam coins than ones without POD.

Photoshop an ID, push a few commits and your good to go.

Real Proof of Developer doesn't rely on identification at all. You cannot fake the quality of your posts over time, trust gained by the community and Development capability proven through commits over time.

Which would you trust? A person with a Hero account with no bad rep/issues and has provided many commits (but no ID)

Or a Newbie account with ID and pictures of previous work?

Personally I would choose the person that has a proven record over time because it is very unlikely they would do a 180 and ruin the rep they've taken time to build.

Are you changing the reward of PoW or PoS..? And what are the new values?

I can see you changed the min and max stake time too... You set the max coin age to 14 days. Why is that? Typically I see PoS coins don't have max stake age. I'm just interested though, no arguing Smiley

Proof of Stake minimum difficulty will change

From: bnProofOfStakeLimit(~uint256(0) >> 2)

To: bnProofOfStakeLimit(~uint256(0) >> 24)

This change prevents Proof of Stake Blocks from being pushed within seconds of each other, preventing large amounts of orphans and memory exhaustion.

Proof of Stake Rewards will change

From: 50% per year

To: 100% per year

Added: Minimum Proof of Stake of 50% per year

Added: Maximum Proof of Stake reward of 30 Coins per Block

Proof of Stake calculates as 100% per year at the minimum Proof of Stake difficulty and halves down to 50% every 64X increase in difficulty (100%, 75%, 62.5%, 56% etc) up to a maximum reward of 30 Coins per Block.

Added use of Minimal Coinage for increased rewards

Hardfork is now in motion!

Hardfork will be active at Block 50,000 (approximately 8 days from now), Reward change is set for a few hours after the Hardfork

All previous versions will be rejected 24 hours before the Hardfork

You can view all my changes for the Hardfork at https://github.com/Crestington/PayCon

If you are running Linux and can build from source you can build from my Github Repo

New Windows Wallet and new ANN thread will be released tomorrow

CON wallet C-CEX has still not been resolved, or the deposit is not successful, fix as soon as possible, thank you!

It seems to be fixed now, at least for me. I had deposited coins to C-Cex few days ago, they finally showed up today!

Yeah C-Cex replied to my message saying they were working on resolving it and the blockchain is matching now.

I would still like to change the minimum difficulty and the rewards though. I tested my changes I made and can connect with the changed source, really all we would need to do is set a time for a hardfork to add it in and build a new windows wallet, setup some more nodes.

Checkpoint master key was also set improperly as a simple address when it should be a full key
Yeap, the wallet @C-CEX working, I got my CONs too.
Lets do the other stuffs, lets set up a time for the hardfork. Grin

Ok, so I removed the repository I had and then pushed all my changes in the proper format in preparation for a hardfork but left Time and Block as optional.

https://github.com/Crestington/PayCon

One thing to note is that by rejecting all old versions before the fork could possibly cut off the DNS-seeder.

In that case we should try to setup as many addnodes as possible beforehand just so people have connections to each other. I already have an addnode setup but can do another 3 nodes as well, if we could get a hold of Mudda it would be easy for him to update the DNS seeders.

Zack. what is happening?
I have boon looking at code the last few days trying to see anything that could be causeing the issues ( spending most of the time trying to learn what does what lol)

This should help you a bit

https://howtocloneanaltcoin.com/index.php?topic=8.0

Also, I recently performed a hardfork on a running network for a change to rewards.

I have a basic clone you can use for testing that I made a while back: https://github.com/Crestington/MyFirstCoin

It's great in that it has Coin Control and you can just mine in the wallet with no mining software.

Watching the trades just now, all the volume is sells. There was resistance at 0.01 btc but we've just gone through it.

If the price is only $2.xx then it shows how much people trust Josh. I mean I'd quite happily pay $18 if I trusted someone to pay me $20 next week lol

I have heard rumors of attacks on Coinfire by PayBase over the SEC allegations on Reddit recently https://ihb.io/2015-01-23/news/coin-fire-hacked-15795

I hear little actual talks from Josh himself, why wouldn't he want to be part of the largest Communities and talk with holders? This is really more about trust than anything. I could trust NXT, BitShares or Nubits because when questions come up they will respond and discuss peoples objections. Take the Bitshares for example, one guy ended up changing his the whole title of his thread because they argued their case so well.

When we look at PayCoin though we see a lot of pretty dodgy stuff happening around the Coin and promises that may or may not happen, lots of misrepresentation, possible market manipulation. I can't say I've seen any real posts from Josh on anything that didn't seem like it was proof read by someone else and all negative criticism is removed from HashTalk.

The question for me that comes to mind is how do we know that there isn't a large amount of money being funneled out?

I don't have any PayCoin so I am just on the sidelines watching. Can someone please prove me otherwise?

Moon?? No boys Saturn

Yeah I wanna do some cloaking, that would be awesome!

I'm going through and building it all now from source and checking all my changes

CON wallet C-CEX has still not been resolved, or the deposit is not successful, fix as soon as possible, thank you!

I'm working on it, we need some more people coding than just me Tongue

Proof of Stake itself is pretty rudimentary, a new checkpoint server and some nodes will help solve it as well.

Thanks captain obvious, care to answer my question on the reward mechanism then?
