2521  Economy / Gambling / Re: risk of kyc on crypto casinos ? on: June 30, 2022, 02:06:49 PM
We can say that it's only just a kyc so what's the big deal? But there are actually people that values their privacy more, than anything else. Yes they will only play gambling and won't do any other business so why kyc is needed? And about the abuse, it's still possible for a gambling site it to detect even without the need of kyc.

I think most gamblers here do hate KYC and they value their privacy more than anything else. And for good reason, as it can be abused by a site or third-party in a bad way, so it's best to avoid it when at all possible. But if you have to go through KYC to use a site you really want to bet with, I suggest you go for a regulated one that will give you at least some protection.
2522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: PolyBTC Introduction on: June 30, 2022, 10:30:37 AM
Still no message here from the moderators, so we think that you are using your position here to "make" the market. You will find an announcement to thatsoon on reddit and i will pay for that extra that it gets pushed.

While it is understandable that most shitcoins creators are completely clueless about how things work around here, I was just curious what you actually expect from the moderators and the administrators?
Members of this community rated your project as scam based on concrete evidence of plagiarism in your white paper. What do you not understand about that? If you want to refute it, show us the evidence to support your position.

Scam Accusation: Plagiarized Whitepaper - PolyBTC

hope really that i find an impressum here with an postal address..

Well, good luck with that. I don't know what you'd do with that information anyway.
2523  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Bitcoin-store.hr zbirni topic on: June 30, 2022, 08:32:17 AM

Quote from: bitcoin-store.hr
Počevši od ovog tjedna, sukladno financijskim regulacijama i propisima (KYC) za nastavak korištenja Bitcoin Store usluga trebate potvrditi vaš identitet. Potvrda identiteta traje do 5 minuta, a prilikom procesa bit će potrebno slikati vašu osobnu iskaznicu.

https://web.archive.org/web/20211123151627/https://www.bitcoin-store.hr/aml-kyc-politika/

2524  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777, Bitlucy and long story in brief on: June 30, 2022, 07:19:50 AM
Well, this is basically my view on this as well, and I'm probably missing something here... If Royse could shed a little light on it, that would be great. The mystery, as far as I see it, remains: what really happened with BitLucy, and who was behind it?
Hey guys, would you give Royse a break please?
He sent his private chat conversations to me and to few other DT members from forum (including LoyceV), so I don't think he should post all that stuff in public.
From what I saw (and you don't have to believe me), it's obvious that he was having conversations with some people from Bitlucy, but he was not really in charge of anything.

There's really no reason not to believe you. I did say that I might be missing something here. Apparently, I was unaware that he had private communications with some DT members and that he shared more information with you. I apologize if it was mentioned somewhere and I overlooked it.
2525  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777, Bitlucy and long story in brief on: June 28, 2022, 06:21:58 PM
we still haven't seen screenshots or chat logs between him/her and the BitLucy CEO
Sharing forum PMs is a big no-go, even when it's about bad shit. There's always someone going to complain that it should remain private. I don't see why chat logs would be any different.

I don't see it that way. Sharing PMs and chat logs as evidence in trades that go wrong or disputes between peers has been the norm for some time. [One smart guy even created a bot to publish PMs automatically. ]   Cheesy

Anyway, as I said, this is something that I would probably do in such a situation if my reputation were at stake. Royes777 must decide for himself in this situation. Of course, any private information can be easily censored.
2526  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777, Bitlucy and long story in brief on: June 28, 2022, 03:03:53 PM
I have seen others refer to Royse777 as 'she' therefore I started doing that too. As far as I am aware (and only from what I have read), she was employed as a signature campaign manager but that branched out in to too many aspects of the company/website and far more involved. That was when things went wrong for her. There is nothing to suggest Royse777 set out to scam users.

I would love to see an update by her/him (whatever, I didn't know she was a girl and I see that everyone calls her that)
here were some promises to come to partial payment or at least the payment of the deposit for some users. whether there is any shift in these cases?

I also believe that Royse did not embark on all this with the intention of deceiving anyone, but I'm not sure why the "original" starter of Bitlucy is still protected. The apparent fraudster remains unknown to us, or to wait for him in a new business under a new name?

Well, this is basically my view on this as well, and I'm probably missing something here... If Royse could shed a little light on it, that would be great. The mystery, as far as I see it, remains: what really happened with BitLucy, and who was behind it?

In all honesty, we have no proof that the person behind Bitlucy is the same person behind Royse777's account. But, if Royse777 was a front for a scam, why is the original scammer still protected by Royse777? In fact, despite Royse claiming to be a victim of Bitlucy, we still haven't seen screenshots or chat logs between him/her and the BitLucy CEO (like the one posted by teyttrs) to prove anything to us.

Anyway, this also makes me believe that there is more to the story than we may realize. Like I said earlier, I'm not sure what exactly happened, but I don't like the way things were handled and all that secrecy. If I were Royse777, I would opt for full disclosure and post all the information I have about BitLucy in the Scam Accusations or Investigations child boards. For the sake of Royse's reputation, I think it's important to hear the reality on the ground in terms of what actually happened, as well as how he feels about it.

Just saying.

2528  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: SCAM upozorenja Zbirni topic on: June 28, 2022, 07:48:20 AM

2. U prozoru File Explorer Options, kliknite na karticu View.
3. Uklonite oznaku pored opcije Hide extensions for known file types (Sakrij proširenja za poznate vrste datoteka).
4. Kliknite OK za potvrdu postavki

2530  Other / Meta / Re: Trouble posting images? on: June 25, 2022, 05:41:55 PM
To conclude, seems like the image host works just fine, but you need to create an account and select Direct links. Viewer links don't work though.

But why? In my experience, imgbb always worked properly without requiring an account.
As far as I can tell from your example, "BBCode full linked" and "Direct link" are exactly the same except that the full linked option includes the [*url] tag on the image.

I found out that tumiami didn't copy my poof in any bounty campaign. I don't understand why my account was caught connecting. So I think you have a problem. Please try to understand my point.  Please Pick up the ret
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3349684 I didn't even join Star Bounty
Despite not committing any crime, I have been rated as a new user
Rate before you give me a chance Again for no reason..
I’m drawing everyone’s attention to not giving to anyone until properly analyzed

@dered, you are lying about this, again. You've been caught cheating bounty campaigns with alt accounts before, so you continue to create new accounts after your old ones are tagged, but you use the same social media profiles and telegram handles. Last time you claimed that you copied someone else's post by accident, now you claim that someone else copied your post?
It seems you are the one who has the problem and I guess there will be no lesson learned in your case.

2532  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Which hardware wallet to buy? on: June 24, 2022, 07:25:00 PM
Would also be interesting to hear who is for and against using cold wallets and the reason why?
My reasoning is the same as most others, cold wallet is not a safe wallet for your investment in the long term. While you can trust an exchange that you think has a very good reputation, you don't have to be 100% entrusting all your money to someone else. This is an important point that you must remember, not your keys then not your assets.

Have a hardware wallet instead, but make sure you actually buy a wallet that fits your needs. This means the wallet must support the assets you currently have on the exchange.

I think you got something wrong here. What is your definition of the term "cold wallet"? What do crypto exchanges have to do with it?

Putting it simply, the term "cold wallet" is used to describe cryptocurrency wallets that don't use the Internet connection. As such, some hardware wallets are often considered cold storage solutions.
Therefore, I think you should rephrase your reply so that there is no confusion.
2533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why Bitcoin will never go to zero on: June 24, 2022, 05:22:52 PM
Have you ever noticed that when the Bitcoin price is low..... most media platforms will start spreading FUD and telling people that the heavens are going to fall..... and Bitcoin is going to zero.... but they hardly mention Bitcoin when there is a price spike.  Roll Eyes

This is "selective" reporting that are backed by a hidden agenda not to highlight Bitcoin's price when it is booming....and to do the opposite, when the price are crashing. (They say, good news does not sell papers.... but mainstream media are trying to manipulate the public, by just highlighting bad news about Bitcoin)  Angry

Indeed. This isn't a shocking, new phenomenon by itself, of course, but it's still worth highlighting just how much some people still don't get it. This sort of "negative" hype has been a primary tenet of practically every "crypto crash" prediction that has emerged in the past. In fact, not only has this trend of "skyfall" predictions been witnessed consistently since Bitcoin first started making headlines....but this hype never seems to end up panning out for the naysayers. These "skyfall" predictions should not be treated as a reliable indicator, but rather be dismissed out of hand. Those who spread this sort of negative hype, may end up regretting it later on. Just my personal opinion.

Guys! Site is SCAM!
<cut>

Is there any evidence of this? If you want your allegations taken seriously, you should post a topic in the Scam Accusations section. I hope you can take a screenshot of the correspondence with the live-chat agents, and it would be great if you had some evidence of your balance history on the site. Making claims that are not supported by proof will not be taken seriously by the community.

Thanks for this. He was disrespectful to live chat, we have proof of it. He sent a screenshot of himself using a bug in the system, then he was banned automatically. I then took matters and spoke to him, understood him and reinstated his account and given him his balance whilst IT support checked his account being genuine. He then immediately starts gambling, losses it, and now proceeds to try and give us a bad name. I have proof for all of this, and already sent it and brought this up to the moderators. He has 0 proof to back his words, and is probably posting here from multiple accounts.

I appreciate your explanation. If this is indeed the case, then I suggest you ignore his nonsense completely. Almost every casino has to deal with such cases sometimes. But, as I said, no one here will take him seriously unless he substantiates his claim with evidence. Eventually, he will give up.

Welcome to the BitcoinTalk forum, by the way!

Haha.

I just want to strengthen the evidence from @Issa56. because the allegations related to the @Nairander and @loveslfc accounts are indeed accurate. both accounts, there was even a high possibility that there were more accounts that s/he controlled.

3. Omoaye1

That was an excellent discovery, @Pandu Geddon!

Just a small addition, Nairander is the first to post in that thread, so it is highly unlikely that he copied Omoaye1's POA post (and his BSC address) by accident.

https://ninjastic.space/search?content=Omoaye1%20%7C%20Nairander&topic_id=5382152

The same address was used by Omoaye1 at least 50 times in different bounties. Based on this, I will tag this account as belonging to the same bounty cheater group.

2539  Economy / Gambling / Re: KYC casino or no-KYC casino, but with no bonuses/no cashback? on: June 24, 2022, 08:48:02 AM
<cut>

Perhaps you should be more careful with KYC. It seems to me that your easy-going attitude towards giving strangers your government documents is going to come back to bite you on your behind one day. How this is going to look for you, I cannot say. But if you are entrusting every single online gambling casino that you come across without as much as a single thought to actually researching the reputation and trustworthiness of the casino and the owners then you are just putting yourself at the mercy of scammers and identity thievery.

You should be more careful.

Exactly my point. By doing KYC, a person is required to hand over bits and pieces of their personal identity to a "trusted party". While this can be a good thing for fraud prevention purposes, it is potentially a very bad thing for privacy. After all, what if you have no idea who that person is, or what their motivations are? How do you know whether you should trust them?
Moreover, if you trust strangers to watch over your digital self, what happens when they get hacked or if they leaked all your personal documents online? What if they just leave a cached copy of your government ID's in a badly configured server?

You can't control whether these things will happen, but you can control whether you hand over your personal information to them. We should be actively opting out, not opt in, to any intrusive personal data collection by various third parties. After all, there is no way to guarantee that the third party won't misuse your information, but at least you can reduce the likelihood of that happening.

Cheesy
