If you get desperate you could try importing your electrum seed into a mycelium wallet on your phone. A few bitcointalk members including myself successfully experimented with importing a mycelium seed into electrum, so I imagine it's probably possible to import an electrum seed into mycelium. This post and the thread it's in detail our experiments.

Already tried to install version 0.1.4 and just tried version 0.4.1 The same error ((((Writes "The password did not unlock the purse" although I enter the correct password and when it is restored it shows up and does not start in the wallet ((

What should the comrades do? I have there all of my savings are (((it's just some sort of horror, help please!

I posted some solutions in this post. The short version of them is to import your multibit seed into breadwallet on your iPhone if you have one. If you do install breadwallet make sure it's the real one because there are fakes that will steal your coins. If you don't have an iPhone you can also install breadwallet on the latest android phones.

If you have an older android phone you could try installing mycelium on it and importing your multibit seed into that. This post explains a few configurations you might have to do to get mycelium to show your balance.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1361928.msg17887528#msg17887528

If you have no phone or don't want to risk your bitcoins on a phone then there's a way to get your private keys from your multibit seed, but it requires some technical work. You import your seed into an offline copy of a special webpage, configure it, and it generates a list of your multibit addresses and their corresponding private keys. This post and others in the same thread explain how to do it. If you choose to use an offline copy of the webpage I recommend running it in a virtual machine disconnected from the internet to be extra safe, and deleting the virtual machine after you get your private keys.

Any trusted exchange bitcoin to paypal? Who tried?

Unlike Coinbase and other exchange that are country restricted, you have virwox.com which is available for all countries, the fees are quite high but If you need a fast transaction then you should use them. (The limits may be low but they increase over time, starting to count from the day you deposit using PayPal or Skrill).

According to the virwox FAQ paypal withdrawals are normally instant, but the first withdrawal from a new account will take up to 48 hours as it gets processed manually.

https://www.virwox.com/faq.php#_manual

Quote
What is the "manual step" required to process some withdrawals, and how long does it take?

Withdrawals to bank accounts are usually processed on the morning of the next business day. While most withdrawals to PayPal, Skrill, and Bitcoin accounts are processed instantly, we manually check some of them for security reasons (for example of new accounts). They will be processed within 48 hours. In any case, you will receive an email confirmation when the withdrawal has been processed. Note: For security reasons, the first withdrawal of bitcoins will always be delayed by 48 hours.

Since we didnt see any retrace over the weekend, I wouldnt be suprised at all, if bull trap awaited us during tommorrow or day after that. It wouldnt be the first time we decide to take a plunge on monday...

Looks like indeed we have a correction going.

It could go up, down, or sideways. Some posters here are saying it will go up, others are saying it will go down, but nobody's saying it will go sideways. As the minority is usually right I'll speculate on it going sideways.
2525  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 03, 2017, 05:50:29 AM
Am I the only one here interested in Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion?

We've just hit $1120 at Bitcoinaverage, $1119 at Stamp.

Go Bitcoin go.

It's been a few hours and that price is still holding on bitstamp, it even has an $1127 twenty four hour stamp high. Do we carry on going up now the banks are starting to open?

Apparently a US federal judge recently ruled that Bitcoin is completely exempt from US regulation because it's in the same class as Monopoly money. Does his ruling mean the Bit License and other US regulations no longer apply? Is that one of the reasons why Bitcoin's pumping, or was it an April fool's day joke by cointelegraph?

Bitcoin = Monopoly money  Grin

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-completely-unregulated-in-the-us-as-obscure-nixon-era-law-came-to-light

Quote
A US federal judge ruled Friday that cryptocurrency is completely exempt from regulation due to a little-known law enacted over 40 years ago.

HB 1010, known as the Monopoly Act, exempts imitation money, such as novelty items or those used in board games, from falling under government jurisdiction for financial regulation. Under the new interpretation of the law, this has been expanded to include cryptocurrencies.

Obscure law meant for board games also exempts virtual currencies
The Monopoly Act was introduced with the intent of preventing the imitation money, used in board games such as Monopoly, from falling under government scrutiny.

Parker Brothers, the company behind Monopoly, lobbied heavily for the law to pass, as imitation bills from collector's editions of the game began to draw high value on the market.

After one collector was arrested for tax evasion after procuring employment in exchange for these collector's edition Monopoly notes, Parker Brothers feared their value would plummet, sinking sales.

Nixon turmoil
The Monopoly Act was passed and signed into law Aug. 5th of 1974, barely noticed during a time of political turmoil and a mere four days before Richard Nixon became the first American president to resign from office.

The wording of the bill, however, provides an unintended loophole for cryptocurrency:

"No token, bill, virtual currency, or counterfeit money, whose purpose it is to parody legal tender or otherwise serve as a novelty, and where such can be demonstrated beyond a reasonable doubt, shall be subject to taxation, regulation, or licensing by any branch of government, but shall instead enjoy free and unrestricted exchange. (emphasis added)”

On Friday, a federal judge ruled that cryptocurrencies are, by virtue of lack of a physical form and issuing bank, by definition virtual currency and as such current financial regulations do not apply
2527  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: trying to recover my wallet with my seed but it just creates new wallets on: April 02, 2017, 08:25:45 PM
yeah I have no problem doing that but when I try to transfer the funds out of the old wallet it still asks me for the old password. so my funds are stuck in that wallet even though I have the seed for it

Can you try installing an electrum on a windows computer instead of on tails, then restoring from your seed on the windows version of electrum?
2528  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: trying to recover my wallet with my seed but it just creates new wallets on: April 02, 2017, 08:15:09 PM
I recreated a wallet from seed in my windows version of electrum. These screenshots show the exact steps I made. Try doing it that way, if it's any different to what you were already doing.

2529  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: trying to recover my wallet with my seed but it just creates new wallets on: April 02, 2017, 07:59:44 PM
I installed electrum version 2.7.10 on windows, which is very close to your version. Does your version have an options button below the text box you type your seed into? If it has try clicking it and checking the BIP39 seed checkbox, then entering your seed.

This is what my electrum version 2.7.10 looks like after clicking the options button.

2530  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 02, 2017, 07:55:43 PM
Looked at Bitcoin and Litecoin prices a few minutes ago....

Even bearstamp's hit $1099, and there's only 225 coins to go before it hits $1100. This is an unexpected pump as the banks aren't even open yet.
2531  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: trying to recover my wallet with my seed but it just creates new wallets on: April 02, 2017, 07:26:30 PM
just a window full of addresses I don't recognize.

Have you tried scrolling to the bottom of that window full of addresses and clicking the triangle with change written next to it like in this screenshot?

2532  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: trying to recover my wallet with my seed but it just creates new wallets on: April 02, 2017, 07:22:09 PM
no problem each OS is different. so I found the address button now how do I transfer my coin out?

Do you mean you can see the addresses containing your coins, or just a window full of addresses you don't recognise?
2533  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: trying to recover my wallet with my seed but it just creates new wallets on: April 02, 2017, 07:12:57 PM
you must be using a different electrum version of me I have the tails version

That probably explains it, I'm using the windows version. However the dev keeps changing the GUI, so one version might look different to the previous version even on the same operating system.
2534  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: trying to recover my wallet with my seed but it just creates new wallets on: April 02, 2017, 07:10:44 PM
no the funds that are locked in do not have the same addresses. your refereeing to the address under the address button right?

I'm referring to the addresses shown when you click the address tab with the mouse pointer hovering over it in this screenshot. If you scroll to the bottom of that address window, then click the triangle next to where it says "change" extra addresses should show up.

2535  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: trying to recover my wallet with my seed but it just creates new wallets on: April 02, 2017, 06:59:03 PM
my version has previous addresses listed in history if your talking about transaction history with addresses. and yes im connected to a server the light is green.

Have you checked the change addresses and used addresses to see if they contain your coins? If you sent coins from any of your original addresses electrum will sent what's left over to a new change address each time.

At the lower left of your electrum wallet window there should be a little triangle that you have to click to see your change addresses. It's next to the mouse pointer in this screenshot.

2536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Computer hacked , btc stolen .Bitcoin find and recovery software on: April 02, 2017, 06:28:28 PM
my poloniex wallet was cleaned

Doesn't really make sense since you need to verify Poloniex withdrawals through your email.

I think trojan i woke up , poloniex was cleaned and all wallets except one i have created after scanning with Find and Recover . I wonder how that guy still here and his software. Amazing job bitcoin talk team

Do you agree the openssl windows binary I posted a link to wasn't responsible for your computer getting hacked? Considering the "Bitcoin find & recover" software's dev deleted his github immediately after your hack it's fairly obvious his software was responsible.
2537  Other / MultiBit / Re: **HELP** Missing bitcoin! on: April 02, 2017, 05:52:34 PM
You can download the latest version of multibit classic from here. How you transfer the Bitcoins to the new wallet depends on which type of backups you made,

https://multibit.org/releases/multibit-classic/multibit-classic-0.5.19/

If you have backed up files with a .key extension (that contain exported private keys) you can open multibit, click tools, then click import private keys, then browse to your backed up key file.

If you have backed up multibit wallet files you can open multibit, click file, then click open wallet, then browse to your backed up wallet file.

edit

As alani123 says you could alternatively choose to install the electrum wallet and import your keys into that. The maximum fee the latest version of multibit allows is sometimes not enough for fast confirmations if the network's overloaded with unconfirmed transactions. Electrum lets you choose any fee you want, it has no maximum allowed. If you choose electrum download it from the official website here because there are some fake electrum wallet downloads available that will steal your coins.

If you export your multibit wallet's private key to a file without a password, then open that file in notepad you should see something like the text in the quote below. The bit in blue is the private key. You can import that into electrum using these instructions.

#
#   Key createdAt is in UTC format as specified by ISO 8601

2538  Other / MultiBit / Re: **HELP** Missing bitcoin! on: April 02, 2017, 04:59:32 PM
That's a very old version with some bugs in. Before upgrading you should back up your wallet files and private keys.

Have you made any backups of your multibit wallet, or private keys yet? Don't risk doing anything until you make those backups and test they aren't corrupted. You can backup your private keys by clicking tools, then the dropdown menu item entitled "export private keys".

Your multibit wallet files are in a folder that windows hides by default.

You can back up your multibit wallet files by clicking the windows start button, then copying and pasting the line of text below into the search box that opens, then pressing your "enter" key. That should open a folder containing another folder called Multibit. Backup that whole Multibit folder.

%appdata%

This is what the windows search box should look like after pasting %appdata% into it.

2539  Other / MultiBit / Re: **HELP** Missing bitcoin! on: April 02, 2017, 04:45:29 PM
Can you confirm you have multibit classic installed, not multibit HD. Could you also tell us what version of multibit you have installed? If you answer those questions people will find it easier to help you.

Don't panic, it doesn't sound like you lost your coins, there's probably a way to get control of them back.
2540  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 02, 2017, 04:39:34 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still creeping up mostly sideways... currently $1089 (Bitcoinaverage).

Bitstamp's just hit a 24 hour high of $1095. Can it push above that $1100 barrier this time? Yesterday it made it all the way up to $1097, then retraced back down as an April fool's joke. Maybe this time it will push above that barrier, or maybe we stay range bound between $1060 and $1100.

As long as it keeps edging slowly upward I'll be happy.

It was only a week and a half ago that it was down around $900 and bears were clucking about $800.

Even if it takes a few days to conquer $1100, we're still doing fine.

I know that in technical analysis terms the longer it goes sideways the higher the handle of the cup should pump. Contrarily, as a human I just want it to immediately pump sky high. Like you say "patience child".
