Something to consider boys…….

@therationalroot
The reason for current extended sell-off, short 🧵👇

Asia’s largest exchange, Huobi, has stopped related trading in China. #Bitcoin  has been flowing from Asia to the US and Europe for some time.

@therationalroot
Thanks to @ultravirtu for bringing the Asian sell-pressure to our attention.

https://twitter.com/therationalroot/status/1472240860033019905?s=21

@therationalroot
Against expectations of cycle history we’ve been hovering slightly below several key indicators like on-chain STH Cost-Basis and 21wma that historically define bull/bear markets. This left us somewhat surprised as several (including me) think this cycle is not over.

@therationalroot
The sell-pressure from China is real. Asia’s largest exchange, Huobi, has closed OTC and exchange transactions. Many people have been forced to sell their #bitcoin  because they are worried they won’t be able to trade in the future.
Huobi's net position change red past months:

@therationalroot
While Huobi has been discontinued and is quite thorough, Binance will be partially cleared at the end of the year. The ok exchange has not yet issued an announcement on the clearing.
Binance's net position change recently red (likely because of China):

@therationalroot
If we compare this to Kraken, which is mostly active in US and Europe, we can see that they are clearly Buying The Dip. ✊

https://twitter.com/therationalroot/status/1472240886629105665?s=21

@therationalroot
Selling seems to be decelerating, possibly because Huobi already halted. Likely as of January most of this sell-pressure should dissolve. A continuation of the bull market could be expected then.

2522  Economy / Speculation / Re: How far can bitcoin price correction go? on: December 17, 2021, 03:22:22 PM
I’m hoping that because we didn’t have a really explosive blow off top like $150,000 or something which was predicted, then it means we don’t have the usual 80% dump bear market.
Maybe we could go sub $30,000 & that’ll be the bottom. I think that COVID stunted what should have been an elic bull run. We will see fireworks in 2025 after the 2024 halving.

Holy crap F1 winners payout on both Ham and Lew, I'd forgotten Sportsbet loves to payout winners early, last season you'll remember they paid out City outright with something mad like 20 games to go, and also on Biden long before the recount drama settled.

Maybe this season they'll pay out Liverpool outright by January? No wink wink nudge nudge.

Haha, you’re pushing your luck there bro. At least give them until February or March when we’re 11 points clear Wink

Everybody be aware of what games they bet on this weekend. There are a lot of postponements due to COVID breaking into PL squads. I think there may be more too.

I personally wouldn’t pay for any computer equipment with BTC & I’ll tell you why….
If I was planning to store BTC on any device bought with BTC I’d be paranoid every single day that somebody may have tampered with it knowing what you may be using it for. I’d be scared there was some kind of malware present.

I’m sure it’ll be fine but just be careful.
2527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 17, 2021, 10:20:05 AM
Well done Liverpool.
Liverpool  scored 3 excellent goals by diago, salah and Alexander. Liverpool is good that I knew before the match the team will do so great. Newcastle tried their  best too in the game with only just 1 goal.

If Newcastle fight like that tor the rest of the season they have a great chance to stay in the league. Liverpool are just far too good for them & it showed. Liverpool are far too good for most teams in Europe.

They could quite easily be stepping down as so called doxxed devs & returning as anonymous contributors. I know people are mentioning Faketoshi’s actions as a factor here but I think it’s just a coincidence. Let’s see what happens from here on.

@buwaytress
I’m doing well lately but I was terrible for the first 10-12 games. It’s all a bit too late for me. Hopefully LFC give Newcastle a good slapping tonight. Van Dijk, Fabinho & Curtis Jones all out with COVID  Embarrassed

2533  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: December 15, 2021, 09:49:50 PM
Sportsbet sponsored teams with solid positive results today, Southampton managed to get a 2:2 away draw with very good Crystal Palace, and they did that with missing some very important players like Adams and Armstrong.
Arsenal score a goal against West Ham with Martinelli goal and just now they just missed a penalty shot for second goal, but there is still a lot of time left for the end of this match.

Arsenal 2-0 up now with only minutes to go. They're 4th now, a CL spot would be great for Arteta. It’s what the club need to booster finances & attract better players.

Great point for Saints too.

Christ, Man City really gave Leeds an ass whooping didn’t they Cheesy
Hopefully Liverpool do something similar to Newcastle. I was supposed to be going to the game but had to give up my ticket.
2535  Other / Meta / Re: Importance Of Merit Sources || Why do we need merit Source? on: December 14, 2021, 02:49:58 PM
I cannot understand this extraordinary fascination with merits ... perhaps one of the people with immense amounts of time on their hands to analyse who does and doesn't give out their merits could instead assess whether there have been more posts about merits and the merit system than good posts that the merit system has directly encouraged ... Wink

Far more important things in life, genuinely puzzles me why people give a shit that much.
2536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 14, 2021, 02:45:13 PM
@hilariousetc
We could have this conversation all day, I’m wildly annoyed by the UK Gov & how they’ve dealt with COVID. I’m unvaccinated & have actually recovered (easily) from a previous, mild COVID infection.
This isn’t the right place to discuss this but yeah, annoying AF.

At the moment we can still take a lateral flow test to gain entry to stadiums. I will not be happy if they stop that & change it to vaccination only for mass events, nightclubs etc.
As for the football, I suck this season. Still, my predictions are in. I can’t turn down the chance of a free bet. Good luck everybody.
2537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Only invest an amount you can afford to lose" on: December 14, 2021, 02:32:42 PM
I’d counter that with only leave in fiat what you can afford to lose as that’s now the cold hard facts of what happens. Inflation is over 6% in a large amount of countries.

Your government are stealing from you.

I’m not saying only invest in bitcoin but you simply can not leave savings in regular fiat accounts now. Real estate, stocks, bitcoin, you have to invest in something other than low paying fiat savings accounts.

Yeah, this spring/summer dump to $29k for example. Let alone covid flash crash! Like real black swan events that would mindrust the shit out of you and your stash!  Grin

I sold 25% of my stash between $65,000 down to $53,800.
You might wonder why I typed it that way round, it’s because I started selling at $60,000 to $65,000 & clearly expected to see $100,000 plus this year. It hasn’t & doesn’t look like it will happen now. Any way, when we started dumping from there I panicked a bit & sold more, the last batch as low as $53,800 on the day they announced a new bull shit covid variant.

I was kicking myself for panicking a bit. It’s not looking too dumb now   Cool

I took significant, life changing (to an extent) fiat out & now I don’t regret it at all. If we go much, much lower I will hoover up cheap coins. If we don’t then whatever, I am set for life now. Totally chilled until the next halvening & beyond.

2540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: December 13, 2021, 03:47:42 PM
What a mess by UEFA, utterly ridiculous. I was disappointed to not have the Salzburg tie as they’re the weakest team left in the competition maybe. Realistically though only PSG from the group runners up pot bothered me. Liverpool are levels above every other team we could have drawn so I will  take Inter no problem. They are only 1 point ahead of a pretty crappy Milan side in Serie A that we beat twice.
